John fought the urge to groan when he saw where the fire truck stopped on a Saturday afternoon. He knew the address looked familiar for where the station got the call for a job, but he didn't know why it was familiar until they arrived and actually saw the place. He rolled his eyes and shook his head as he got out of the truck which didn't go unnoticed by his partner who decided not to say anything for the moment. John really didn't want to be here, but it was a job and he had to be a professional about it so he was going to do just that.

"We should just let this place burn," John muttered under his breath which also didn't go unheard by his partner who wasn't going to stay silent this time.

"Okay, stop," Christian said as he stopped in place with John doing the same, turning around to face him. "Let's try and refrain from saying something like that when we were called to come here for a fire. You know it's our job to make sure that doesn't happen, right?"

John shrugged. "Yea, I really don't care at this point."

"Okay, I don't know what your problem is with this place, but it's our job and I know you want to keep your job so let's go in there and do what we can to make sure we both keep this job." He was about to head inside, but that's when John spoke up.

"The owner is a piece of shit."

Christian let out a sigh. "And how do you know that?"

"I just do. Now let's just go in there and get this over with. The less I have to be in there, the better."

Christian didn't say anything in response as the two walked over and navigated the small crowd that had gathered outside of the bar. They were about to head inside the bar to see what they were working with which they weren't worried about since they were told it was a very minor fire which was why only two firefighters were sent to the scene.

"You guys are late," the duo heard a voice speak up from behind them. To say John was pissed off when he saw who that voice belonged to would be an understatement. "Took out the fire myself waiting for you to get here. Not sure why you're here now and you were taking your sweet time getting out of the truck. Where's the sense of urgency?" Christian was about to say something, but Eric spoke up when he saw John. "Oh, it's you. Weren't you here a while ago with that bitch screaming about someone beating her or something? How is she doing by the way? You get sick of her shit yet?"

"We're still going to go inside and check it out since we were called here to do a job and we still have to make sure everything is okay and make a report," Christian spoke up before his partner could reply to what the other man said. He knew the younger man was heated not only by the look on his face, but by the way his fists were clenched by his side. "So let's just go inside now John," the man quickly added when it looked like John was about to say something.

"No," Eric shook his head and stopped the two from entering his establishment. "You," he said turning his attention to the blonde man, "can go in and do what you need to even though there's nothing for you to do since you're late," he took a brief pause and continued after glancing at John, "but he cannot go inside. He already caused enough problems by his one visit a while. He and his trash are banned from coming in here. I don't care if this is his job, but he's not going in there."

"I think that could have been said without the harsh words," Christian said before John could react the way Christian was pretty sure he would have were he the other man. Now he understood why John said what he did about hoping the place just burned down before they got there. "But sure, I can go in there and check it out myself. Everyone else is still out here?" Eric simply nodded in response. "Okay, well, I'll go check it out," Christian repeated. "And John can wait outside for me, but away from here," he said as he focused on his partner who was glaring daggers into the older man. "Alright John, let's go." He practically dragged the man away when it didn't seem like John was going to budge on his own.

"Okay, please promise me nothing will happen while I'm in there," Christian said once they were away from the owner of the bar who was still looking there way to make sure John didn't disobey his command and didn't enter his bar. "I get he's a dick, but you're still on the job right now and it wouldn't be wise to get yourself in any type of trouble even though he probably deserves a good ass kicking right now."

"Fine, just hurry up so we can get the hell out of here. I don't think I'll be able to control myself any longer if he says something else," John said with Christian hesitant in leaving him alone after what he just witnessed, but he didn't have another choice so he just headed inside the bar.

Meanwhile, Eric wasn't alone anymore as he watched from afar making sure one of the few people banned from his bar wouldn't enter. "You're lucky this worked," he began to say when he saw that his nephew joined him. "But I had to put that fire out before they got here so it didn't spread. I'm not going to risk burning up my business for anyone."

Matt rolled his eyes. "I know, but this is going to help me and hopefully I can get rid of my problems sooner rather than later now that I know where to find one of them and that one is going to lead to me to the other. I can finally live my life again after taking care of the problems. I know it was a gamble, but it worked so this is great," he said referring to his idea of setting a small enough fire that they would have to call for firefighters to help them out. Matt didn't know which station John worked at since he started working for a new one while Matt was in prison and this was one of the only ways he could thing of how to find out. If this didn't work, then he was going to try something at his apartment which he told his uncle he already did and failed at it when it seemed like Eric was not up for the plan.

"He looked really miserable having to be here."

Matt scoffed. "Well, it's about to get even better for him," he said as he walked away from his uncle and towards the other man.

Christian had been gone for a few minutes and John hoped he would be back soon, but unfortunately for him, he was joined by someone else. "You know, now that I'm out, I'll take my girlfriend back."

John turned around and was surprised to see Matt standing in front of him. He wanted to do nothing more than to beat the other man, but he was still on the job and he definitley didn't want to get into any trouble even though he knew it would be worth it. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"I work here."

John let out a sigh and shook his head. "Of course you do, only a sleazy place like this would hire a murderer."

"You know, it's not cool to make these type of allegations against anyone. You can't just go around ruining someone's reputation."

"You don't need my help to ruin anything, you have done enough of that yourself."

"Speaking of 'ruined things', how is our girlfriend doing?"

Matt only laughed as he saw the scowl form on the other man's face. "You should get your brain checked out you delusional son of a bitch if you think after all of this-"

Matt nodded as she cut of the other man. "I don't think, I know. She is very much still my girlfriend. I didn't break up with her and she didn't break up with me-"

"She left your ass, how much more do you need to know that she broke up with you. I don't even know why I'm having this conversation with you."

"Because you know it's true. We even went grocery shopping the other day. You know, she really is a slut since-" Matt wasn't able to continue when he felt a fist to the jaw. He was expecting more as he was trying to gather himself so he could retaliate, but fortunately for him, Christian was back.

"John, what the hell?!" Christain exclaimed as he pulled his partner away from the other man. He noticed the two men talking once he was done inside the bar and knew whatever they were talking about wasn't good. The group of friends knew somewhat of Lita's past with her ex-boyfriend mainly because of the trial a couple of years ago, but they didn't know everything like how Matt hurt Lita's brother or killed her father and Melina. But Christian knew enough that even though he ran to stop John from attacking the other man, he really just wanted to watch John pummel him. "I didn't leave you alone for that long. How hard is it to keep your hands to yourself?"

"Get the hell off of me!" John screamed as he tried to leave the struggling Christian's hold.

"Definitley not," Christian began to say even though he wanted to do just that as he dragged his partner away from the other man who was smirking although he was just punched. The blonde man was surprised that Matt didn't look like he wanted to get John back, but little did he know, he had other plans.

"Explain to me what the hell happened out there?" Christan asked once the two were back in the truck and John had calmed down a little.

"He's a little bitch ass punk who needs to stay the hell away from Lita!"

"John, I understand-"

"No you don't!"

"Okay, maybe I don't fully understand your situation because this hasn't happened to me, but I know you're very protective of her and I get that because that's how I am with Trish. And I really don't fault you for losing your cool, however, chief is not going to be happy about this."

"I don't give a damn. He can do whatever he wants because that was worth it and I really hope you wouldn't have gotten involved because I would really have loved a few more punches."

"Well, I felt like I had to," was all Christian said as it became silent between the two.

Neither of the two were going to bring up the incident that happened outside the bar to their chief unless they were directly asked about it. And luckily for John, Matt decided against filing any sort of complaint so the chief at the station was oblivious as to what happened. Fortunately, or maybe not so fortunately for John, Matt was done playing games which was why he could care less about that little punch. He was just ready to go for it all and put an end to this, but John was not his priority at the moment. Matt just needed to find John and have him lead him to his top priority.
