All was well. Hoshido, Nohr, and Valla were at peace. Being next in line for the throne, Azura along with her husband Corrin were to be crowned Queen and King of Valla today. Right now, Elise was running wild in the castle. "I'm so exited! What do you think their first act will be?! Will there be a party afterword's?! Should I wear my normal dress?!"
"Elise, please calm down." Takumi sighed.
"Oh, come on! I know you're exited too!"
Leo rolled his eyes. "I swear Elise, out of everyone in this army you have the hardest time acting like the gown up you technically are."
"Faster Solei!" At the sound of Morgan's voice the three of them turned around to see her ridding on her daughters back.
"Okay! Hold on tight mom!"
"I'm sorry, you were saying something funny Prince Leo?" Takumi asked at the sight of a mother receiving a piggyback ride from her daughter.
"I'm amazed we defeated Anankos rather then all getting impaled. By the same lance."
Everyone was in the throne room. The same place where they had their final battle with Anankos. Corrin and Azura knelled before Shigure. On a cushion near him sat two crowns.
Xander stood nearby. "We will now commence the coronation of Azura and Corrin, the new queen and king of Valla..."
Ryoma nodded. "Starting today, Corrin and Azura shall be known as the rulers of Valla."
Shigure smiled as he crowned his mother. Then his father. "I have no doubt you two will guide Valla into a peaceful future. Congratulations."
Jakob smiled at the sight. "Congratulations, milord."
Corrin turned around. "Thank you."
"Any goals set in mind your majesty?" Henry asked.
"Yes... I want to thank King Ryoma and King Xander for their generous gifts of land. Thanks to them, we've been able to rebuild the kingdom of Valla. I pledge to be a king that believes in his people and works for their betterment."
Azura cleared her throat. "As for myself…For the longest time I viewed my lineage as a curse…But now I see it as something more. I see an opportunity to make myself someone worthwhile. I vow to protect my people and usher in a new age of prosperity."
The room filled with applause. Ryoma smiled. "I doubt you need to make that pledge, you two. We all know what kind of person you are."
Xander nodded. "I agree. You will certainly become the king and queen you speak of."
"Corrin, Azura, if you ever need any help, always think of us first." Takumi said.
"Just make sure you can tell us what the problem is next time, OK? I'd rather not go through the same thing again." Leo grinned. Everyone laughed.
Camilla shook her head. "I don't think that will ever happen again. In any case, Corrin and Azura have united all of us siblings together."
"Congratulations, Corrin, Azura, from the bottom of my heart." Hinoka smiled.
Sakura nearly cried. "I'm so happy for you, two! I don't even know what to say..."
Elise nudged her with an elbow. "The word you're looking for is "congratulations," Sakura! Congratulations, Corrin and Azura. From both of us!"
Kana had locked hands with her brother and Morgan, who after being freed by Inigo from Kana and Kiragi leaving her dangling from a tree decided to call it even with Kana and continued to be friends with her. After all, friends tolerate minor issues. Plus, she had to admit the look on Inigo's face when he saw her tied up was kinda funny even though being seen in such a state was embarrassing for her. And she got an excuse to have him carry her back to her room and pamper her.
"Congratulations Mama and Papa!"
Corrin smiled at his allies. "Thank you—all of you."
Ike smiled. "Finally, Valla gets the king and queen it deserves."
Marth nodded. "There is no doubt Corrin and Azura will heal this country and it's people."
A lone man watched from a distance. He smiled faintly as he turned around to leave.
As he did so however, a man stepped out from behind a pillar. "And here I almost thought you wouldn't show, Gunter. After all, nobody's seen you since the battle."
The knight's expression remained unchanged. "How perspective of you Kris."
"So, what's next for you?"
Gunter sighed. "That I do not know…I thought I would feel better now that I got my revenge on Garon…But alas I feel empty."
Marc stepped out next. "You feel you've betrayed everything that mattered to you. Even if you were manipulated. I know the feeling."
"Hmmm…"
"I'm going to try to move on with my life. You should do the same."
Gunter thought for a moment. "Gods know I don't have a whole lot of time left."
"Then use it for what you want." Kris said. "Not for Corrin. Not for Garon. Not for revenge."
"…I suppose…There may be something worth living for…If I can find it. I doubt we'll meet again so…Take care." Kris and Marc watched Gunter leave.
The next day everyone gathered outside the castle at a nearby lake. Lilith stood at the edge. "Is everyone ready?"
"We are." Marth nodded.
Inigo looked at Xander and Peri. "Thank you both for everything."
The prince smiled. "I should be thanking you my friend. Promise me you'll stay alive."
"Yeah! Don't die because you were distracted by your pretty Morgan!" Peri laughed.
Owain stood in front of Leo and Neils. "Farwell milord and destined partner! I leave this land we saved together in your hands!"
"Heh. It's reassuring to know you'll never change." The younger prince grinned. "Just remember Owain: You'll always be my retainer."
"Just don't go running wild when you get home, okay?" the archer asked.
Camilla hugged Severa. "Don't forget me darling."
"I would never forget you lady Camilla. Beruka, promise me you'll protect her from now on."
"Understood."
Lilith turned to the trio. "Do you have what my father gave you?" Inigo handed a silver glob to her. As she held it in her hands it glowed white. She threw it into the lake. Shortly after it sank a burst of light rose up. "There. This portal will send all of you where you need to be."
Soleil Ophelia and Marc shook hands with Seigbert, Shiro and Shigure.
"You three take care of yourselves." Shiro said.
"You fought hard for your lives. Enjoy them." The knight added.
"Without you we wouldn't have succeeded." Shigure smiled.
"Back atchya." Soleil laughed. "If it weren't for you, Ophelia and I would still be in a dungeon right now."
"Farewell my otherworldly friends!" Ophelia said with all the confidence she could muster.
"May your future be a bright one." Marc said.
"I'm sure you all will be fine." Morgan said. "You conquered the big scary dragon, what do you have to fear now?"
Soren hadn't paid much attention to the group. "We're done here. Come on Ike, we need to return to the company."
"Good luck my friends." Lilina said.
"We won't forget you. Take care." Kris smiled.
"Let's go home Alm." Celica said taking the prince's hand. "Everyone is waiting."
"Yeah. Thanks for everything guys."
"You all fought hard for this peace." Chrom smiled. "Enjoy it."
"I'm sure the bonds we forged will remain no mater how far apart we are." Robin added. "Remember that."
"We will make the most of our lives as well." Lucina smiled. "That, I promise."
"If you ever need us, we'll be there." Roy said.
Ike grinned. "Just try to get along from now on. Don't go starting another war between yourselves."
Marth smiled. "Remember. All of you…all of us…we achieved this together. We proved that anything is possible. I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if we meet again someday."
"If we think hard enough, I'm sure we'll find a way." Scarecrow said.
"Or maybe we'll end up throwing ourselves into a different world again by accident." Fox joked.
"Ah, I'm sure things will work out!" Lion laughed. "We'll brave through whatever happens!"
"When the winds blow we go! Queequeg looks forward to where we drop anchor!"
"Ya take care of everythin' here Corrin." Tom smiled.
"For the last time my name's corn, not Cor…wait…" Everyone laughed at the king much to his embarrassment.
"Well, if ya say so! Corn it'll fer' ever be!" Tom laughed.
"You did that on purpose didn't you?"
"Nevertheless, we have seen the type of king and queen you and Azura will be." Califia smirked. "Valla is in the best of hands."
"A pity I will have to wait to learn more of this world's science." Randolph sighed. "But alas, there is much to be done at home."
"Your pure hearts will bring a wonderful future for this land." Tin Man smiled. "I'm certain of it."
"I hope this world won't see any more war. If it does, hopefully you won't be involved." Tiger Lily added.
"I met all my friends from other worlds again even though it looked like I wouldn't." Dorothy winked. "I'm sure we'll meet again someday, somehow."
"Yup. Don't give up on the chance." John smirked. "Giving up ain't like you lot."
Henry walked up to Corrin. "It all started with a mission to talk to Robin. Never thought it would lead to all of this. Meeting you, going to Valla, seeing all my buddies again…It's been quite a trip huh?"
Corrin smiled. "It sure has. I don't know what I'd have done if I never met you Henry. Thank you."
As Corrin extended his hand Henry shook it. "If you find yourselves in our neck of the woods, just call and S.T.E.A.M. will come running."
"We will. Farwell my friends."
With that, the otherworldly warriors went into the lake and disappeared in the light one by one. Henry was the last one to leave. After that the light disappeared.
"*sigh* There they go." Corrin said. "I miss them already."
"We all do." Ryoma said with a hand on his shoulder. The rest of Corrin's allies simply stood there for a bit.
"Let's go. It's getting late." Xander said.
As everyone walked towards the castle, Shigure stayed for a moment, looking at the lake. He took out his pendant and looked at it one last time. "Farwell." He then tossed it into the water, and it started to sink.
Much time has passed for the heroes. Back at his home and time, Marth simply stared out the balcony of his room overlooking his kingdom.
"Sire."
A guard came in with Kris. The knight bowed before leaving the tactician and the king alone.
"Kris."
The man bowed to Marth before handing him a letter. "This just arrived from Valentia."
Marth took the letter and read through it. "I see. Good to know Lord Alm and Lady Celica are doing well."
"They clearly want to form a positive connection between our countries. They want to meet in order to discus trades."
Marth smiled. "I'd be glad to help Valentia. I know they are short on recourses. Let's hope we can aid them in their time of need like we did the countries of Corrin's world."
"Indeed, sire."
Alm and Celica were back in their country, having a discussion with Mycen, Conrad, Clive, Matilde and Clair.
"And that's what happened." Alm concluded.
"I…see…And you're sure you didn't just dream this all up?" Mycen asked.
"It's not that I doubt you two…" Conrad sighed. "But that's just…hard to believe. Do you have anything to prove this?"
"Actually…" Alm reached into his pocket. "There's a reason why we wanted Clive, Matilda and Clair to join us. It's the main reason why we're telling you all of this." He took out a letter and passed it to Clive. The man stared curiously at it. It was addressed to him. What would a world he never heard of want from-
His eyes widened. "It can't be…"
"What is it?" Clair asked as she and Matilda came closer. "Wait…Clive, isn't this…?!"
"There's no mistaking it…This is Fernand's handwriting!"
"Fernand?" Mycen asked. "How is that possible?! We saw him die!"
Alm smiled. "Like we said before…our enemy could resurrect and enslave the dead. Before he disappeared…Fernand gave me that. To give to you."
Clive just stood there staring in amazement for a moment before he opened the letter.
My friends. I pry that somehow this letter reaches you. I feel there is more I need to confess. As you know, ever since my loved ones were taken from me, all I could think of is vengeance on those who wronged me-Who wronged them. I thought that it was my duty to avenge them. That it was what they wanted. But back then I could not truly comprehend their position. But now that I too, have left the living I had an epiphany. I would never ask my family to avenge me. To see them as bitter as I was. So, I thought about what I want now. What they wanted. And now I know. What I want is to be remembered. If even one person remembers me, then I have not truly left the living. So, I ask you to remember me, remember my family. Remember all us who are not here to share your victory. Until we meet again my friends.
Fernand of the Deliverance.
Clive and the others didn't know what to say at first. A smile slowly grew on each of their faces.
Mycen smiled as well. "Wise words."
Alm nodded as Celica held his hand. "Yeah…If I think of those, I lost…they aren't truly gone. I'm going to rebuild Valentia in their honor. So, there will be no more victims ever again."
Roy and Lilina looked out the window.
"Hey, Roy…I've been thinking about father…what we discussed…"
"Yes?"
"There might be others out there…people hiding their pain from others. Suffering in silence alone."
"True. The war cost a lot of lives."
"I made up my mind. I'm going to heal all of those hearts. Help all of those suffering. As a ruler who has been in that situation, I think I can do that."
Roy smiled and held her hand. "Know that I will be with you no matter what. After all, any pain, any burden you carry is my own."
Lilina hugged him. "Thanks Roy."
"Ha!" Ike cut down a tree with one single sword swing.
"Ike?"
He looked behind him. "Oh, Soren. Sorry, didn't see you there."
"You've been training hard ever since we got back. Is something on your mind?"
Ike sheathed his blade. "Soren…I've been thinking about how Robin and his friends viewed me and Marth."
"Oh? How so?"
"I've always looked up to my father. If I didn't have the encouragement of matching him, I would have been lost. So, I've realized after facing him that I need to become worthy of my legend. To be something that will provide Robin and his friends hope. Otherwise they might not be able to achieve their victories in the future."
"Perhaps you're right…"
"Soren I…I've made up my mind. I'm leaving soon."
Soren was shocked to hear that. "Leaving? The company?"
"Maybe Tellius in general. I hate the thought of leaving the friends I made and the company my father entrusted to me but…If making my legend know to the whole world will save lives and inspire hope in the future…I'll do what needs to be done."
"I see…when are we leaving?"
"You don't have to come with me."
"My loyalty lies with you Ike. It always has and always will."
The Radiant Hero smiled. "Thank you, Soren."
Chrom, Sumia, Morgan, Marc, Inigo, Olivia and Soleil were waiting in a hall.
"So…Has anyone heard from Owain and his family?" Chrom asked trying to start a conversation.
"I just got word from Ophelia." Soleil said. "Her journey around our world with her parent's is going well. She had so much fun in Ferox."
"That's nice…"
Suddenly Robin opened the door, getting everyone's attention.
Chrom ran up to him. "Is she…?"
Robin couldn't control his smile. "She's fine. The twins are fine."
"You mean…?"
"Marc, Morgan, I think you two should see yourselves first."
Morgan hastily ran inside with Marc nervously following behind with Chrom. Lucina was inside, exhausted. In her arms was a newborn boy. Nearby Lissa held a newborn girl.
"Hurray!" Morgan ran over to her younger self. "Awww! Look at me! I'm so cute! Oh! What's her name? When can I teach her tactics? Can I hold her? Please? Please?"
Lissa laughed as she gave the girl to Morgan.
Marc took his younger self from Lucina. "That one is Abe." Lucina smiled. "We named the girl Oz."
"Fine names." Chrom smiled.
Robin nodded. "And I plan on protecting them. All of my children." He looked at his hand and red lightning crackled slightly. "No matter what I need to do."
Chrom put a hand on his shoulder. "And you won't be doing it alone."
"Thank you Chrom."
Azura and Corrin stood at the lake where they last saw their friends. "So...are you sure you're OK with this?" Corrin asked. "I know that you were against ruling Valla."
Azura nodded. "Yes, this is the way it should be. I thought I've never been much of a leader. And you are the reason we were able to end the fighting and stop Anankos. You were chosen by the Yato. Obviously, it believes in you. But now I know that I cannot run away from my fate. My responsibility."
"Azura..."
Azura smiled at her husband. "And it's not like I am ruling Valla alone."
"Huh? N-no! Of course not! I'm going to make Valla a wonderful place! In honor of the true last king and for Queen Arete. And everyone who fought... I promise to make them all proud."
"I'm glad to hear that. Corrin, could I give you a gift to celebrate your adventure?"
"A gift?"
"Yes. You are the Ocean's grey waves…"
Azura began to sing. Corrin smiled as he quietly listened to the song that filled the area. Corrin hugged her once she finished. "That song is wonderful... It's almost like that song is about us. The song my father wrote…."
"Yes…In a sense that song was a gift for you from your father. And me from my mother."
"I think you're probably right."
"But that is where the song ends. It says nothing of the future. Maybe the next part of the song is for someone else to write. Someone like you, Corrin. As the author's son, I think you are the best choice."
Corrin smiled. "All right. But I won't do it alone. I'll need your help, Azura.
Azura smiled back "Gladly."
"Thank you."
Henry and his team stared at multiple screens seeing all of this. All of their friends through time and space.
"Seems all is well." Kathrine smiled.
Henry smirked and nodded. "Looks that way. All of them are moving forward into their new futures."
"Then we should do the same." John grinned. "Can't fall behind now, can we?"
"True." Suddenly he heard his Wireless headpiece go off. "General Grant. I see. Yes sir. On our way."
"What's going on?" Lion asked.
"We got trouble brewing in California. We're needed. Team, full S.T.E.A.M. ahead!"
"Sir, yes sir!"
Ozma smiled as the team left. She then glanced at a monitor displaying Ryoma, and Xander. Near them were the other siblings.
"In the name of the First Dragons, I, Xander, speaking for the kingdom of Nohr..."
"And I, Ryoma, speaking for Hoshido,"
Xander and Ryoma came forward and shook hands.
"…vow to keep peace between us."
"We shall all be bound by this vow." Hinoka said.
Camilla smiled. "Yes. Peace for our nations. I swear."
"Mm-hm."
Elise grabbed Sakura's hands. "Yay! We're friends now!"
Sakura nodded happily. "Friends."
Takumi sighed. "I wish it were that easy to just forgive, you know?"
"I know...but healing can only begin with trust." Leo replied.
"Yeah."
Ryoma smiled at his family. "We swear to our people...to our countries...and to the brave soul who brought us together..."
"Hoshido and Nohr are united together forever." Xander concluded.
Just then Corrin and Azura arrived. With them were Kana, Kamuri, even Shigure and the royal children from Hoshido and Nohr. The siblings turned to look at them Sakura and Elise grabbed Corrin's hands and pulled him closer to the siblings.
Xander and Ryoma stepped closer. "We swear to you!"
Corrin smiled. "And to the people that helped us. Henry…Everyone…Thank you."
Ozma smiled as she shut off the monitor.
The End
And that's it. I hope all of you enjoyed this story. I personally think there were some things I could have done to make it seem less dragged out, but enjoyed writing it anyway. I still wasn't expecting it to be as long as it was when I started. But I am looking forward to my next story...even though it's going to be even bigger then this one. I plan on uploading it sometime today. I wonder if this is how Sakurai feels when he says he can't catch a break. Anyway, thanks again for reading, please leave a review if you have time so I know what you think and take care.
