"A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON!"
The mechanical, loud, and sudden voice rang clear.
The Dragonborn groaned in annoyance, equally as loud.
"Ugh, is that you Meridia?" she asked, making a face. "This is what I get for just taking all from a chest without looking…a naggy Daedra."
"LISTEN AND OBEY, FOR-"
The hero stuffed the Beacon into a bag. "Uh huh. No, no, I'm totally listening…"
The Dragonborn halfheartedly dropped the beacon sort of in the direction of the pedestal that rested beneath the frankly ridiculously sized Meridia statue.
There was an impressive shower of sparkles and light as it came to life.
"LOOK AT MY TEMPLE. SO MUCH FOR THE CONSISTANTY OF MORTALS. INSIDE THERE IS A NECROMANCER…WAIT, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?"
The Dragonborn was halfway down the steps, walking away from the shrine.
"Huh?" she said, glancing back over her shoulder. "Oh, I wasn't going to actually do your quest. I just wanted that beacon out of my inventory. Thing weighs a freaking ton. I thought you were all about light? Why does it weigh anything? Can't it be made of moonbeams or something?"
"…WHAT?!" Meridia screeched. "BUT THERE'S A NECROMANCER INSIDE MY TEMPLE!"
"Bummer." The hero said, shrugging,
"HE'S DOING ALL SORTS OF DARK STUFF!"
"Yeah, but I'm busy, and he's inside a shrine obviously no one is going to go into, so…"
"I'LL GIVE YOU A REWARD."
"Like what? Another heavy-as-a-battleaxe nightlight?"
"FINE! YOU CAN HAVE DAWNBREAKER, YOU INSUFFERABLE LITTLE BRAT!"
The Dragonborn hummed. "Alright, that's fair. I'll kill this necromancer. But, I am on another task at the moment."
She pulled out her quest log. "Let's see…I could come back here after I return the horn of Jurgen Windcaller to the Greybeards, but before I go explore some ruins for the Bard's College. I can pencil you in here, along with testing out J'Zargo's scrolls since that needs to be against undead. It's a twofer!"
She looked back up at the statue. "How's that sound?"
"…..THIS REALLY SUCKS. I USED TO BE A BIG DEAL YOU KNOW."
"Well, this isn't the 2nd Era, so whatever. See you in like, a month or two."
Wow! Its been so long since I've updated this story!
I am playing with sparse mods now, since I'm on PS4 there aren't a lot because of Sony's weird rules, but I have found some fun ones.
Meridia's Skyrim voice is for some reason so funny to me. She sounds grumpy, and like she's yelling constantly. In ESO, she sounds normal, if not really full of herself. But the Skyrim voice is better because it's over the top. I like imitating it, haha.
I have a few more to write, so here's hoping for a few more chapters coming up soon!
