Chapter 59: Toffee
Serena slowly opened her eyes and notice she was in the dungeons while chained to the wall.
"About time you woke up."
Serena glared and notice Ludo staring at her with glowing green eyes.
"Hi jerk face."Serena said simply. "I am not that surprised to see you."
"And why is that?"Toffee asked.
"I am going to stop and kill you."Serena replied firmly.
"If you think that your either brave or foolish like your mother was."Toffee commented.
"Don't talk about my mum that way!"Serena growled in anger. "You didn't know her!"
"Your mother was a tease. Pretended to despise me."Toffee replied. "She got what she wanted...in the end."
Serena paled.
Got what she wanted?
"What did you do to my mum?"Serena demanded.
"Nothing that concerns you."Toffee said.
"It does concern me!"Serena growled. "She's my mum, you disgusting parasite!"
Ludo's body sailed towards Serena and his clawed hand clasped around her throat.
Whatever words Serena was going to say were left in a tight breath as the air was squeezed out.
"Be careful what you say, impudent brat."Toffee warned. "You would never know the consequences."
Ludo released Serena from his grip.
The orange haired girl let out a gasp for air, focusing only on breathing.
Ludo floated to the ground.
"Ludo has some things he needs to attend to."Toffee stated. "I expect you to be a good little butterfly and stay put. We wouldn't want anything to happen to your cousin now would we?"
Serena's stomach dropped as her face grew cold.
Ludo smirked and he left the room.
Serena lowered her head, now fearing the worst that could happen next.
Outside...
A choir of children were singing about Ludo being King of Mewni.
Various paintings of Ludo were displayed one by one, each depicting him as some kind of savior.
Born to the wild, a gift from above
A story of triumph, a story of love
An army of rodents with he at the helm
He toppled the old king, brought peace to the realm
Handsome and fearless and brilliant and tall
Beloved by Mewmans, he tends to us all
Our dearest King Ludo, he tends to us all
"Ah, yes, this is wonderful."Ludo commented. "Let's hear it for Ms. Bucket and the Mewni's Youth Choir! Yeah?"
The people of Mewni applaud tepidly.
But then the rats threatened to harm them and the applause became enthusiastic.
"Good. Huh?"Ludo said and listened to his wand. "Oh, you're right. You're right, they were a touch off-key."
Ludo pointed his wand arm at the choir.
"Levitato!"Ludo chanted.
The choir screamed as they were levitated off of the castle and into (presumably) outer space.
"Singing with the angels."Ludo remarked and looked at the rats. "Play me off, boys!"
Ludo walked back inside to the elevator as the rats play.
"Throne room, sir?"Manfred asked.
"Full steam, Manfred!"Ludo ordered.
"Yes'm."Manfred replied.
Then the elevator rose down.
Inside Butterfly Castle...
"Hmm."Ludo said and looked a rat. "Remind me to Levitato Manfred."
The fake king of Mewni hummed to the elevator music.
"That is, this is catchy."Ludo complemented.
A large figure wearing a rat costume hopped into the elevator via a duct.
The figure threw the rat guards aside.
"Huh?"Ludo asked and turned around seeing the scary big rat. "Aaah!"
He picked up the elevator emergency phone
"Manfred!"Ludo shouted. "Manfred, my most trusted ally! I need you!"
The rat figure pulled off the phone from the elevator.
The elevator reached it's destination floor and Ludo got kicked out of it.
The figure took off it's rat head revealing the person behind the costume.
It was Star Butterfly.
"Where's my dad and Rena?"Star asked.
"Star Butterfly?"Ludo said.
"Where's my dad and Rena?!"Star demanded while charging in her rat outfit.
"Are you out of your mind?"Ludo scoffed as he extended wand hand and casted a spell.
The top of the rat suit got vaporised.
Star ripped apart the bottom and lunges at Ludo, tackling him to the ground.
Ludo escaped and prepared to cast another spell when it spoke to him.
"Hmm? Hmm? Right now?"Ludo asked. "But it's not a good time."
"You're talking to your hand, dude."Star stated with a frown.
"Hold on! I have to take this. I—"Ludo started. "Look, this is not a good time to have this conversation."
Ludo's giant spider jumped on Star and wrapped her to the floor with a silk web.
Star struggled to break free from the web.
"Okay, so my hand says I can't destroy you, so I have to put you in the dungeon."Ludo explained.
"For the last time, where is my dad and Rena?"Star questioned.
"Didn't you hear the song? Ohhh. I defeated your dad."Ludo giggled. "I Levitato'd him. And now I'm king."
"You what-a-ta-tay-to-ta-tah-to?"Star asked.
"Levitato. Ta-tato. Tato! Levitato!"Ludo remarked. "You're a princess of Mewni and you don't even know Levitato?"
"You don't know, do you?"Star said bitterly. "You're being controlled, Ludo."
"You're right. You're right, I am being controlled."Ludo agreed.'"Controlled by my lust for power!"
"No, Ludo, you're being controlled by Toffee."Star warned.
"What? No, Toffee's dead! I did this. Me. See that?"Ludo said gesturing to his flag. "Me! Me! And now I'm doing this, too. Take her to the dungeon!"
Ludo's bald eagle landed on Star, still wrapped in the web and flew her away.
"It's your waaaaaand!"Star shouted as she was sent away.
Ludo stared at the wand piece that was stuck in his hand.
In the Dungeons...
Star was chained to the wall next to Serena.
"Ugh! You think you're so tough!"Star said sarcastically.
The rat guards shut the door.
"Get back here, you jerks!"Star demanded.
"Well, nice for you to stop by."Serena commented.
"Rena, why did you leave me behind?!"Star questioned with a frown. "I thought we were going to destroy Toffee together!"
"Because I thought you were going to catch up."Serena replied. "And I didn't want you to get hurt."
"Aw...you do really care about me!"Star chuckled.
Serena frowned and blushed in embarrassment.
A large figure in a grey mouse costume and a small figure in a white mouse costume were standing outside the door.
In the Dungeons...
There were some fighting sounds heard outside and the two figures opened the door before approaching Star and Serena.
The figures removed their costumes and revealed to be Marco and Adyson.
"Marco!"Star said with a smile.
"Adyson?"Serena replied in disbelief.
"Star! Serena! Hiii-yah!"Marco said and hit Star's chains with his hand. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow! Pff, okay, that was dumb. Probably should've used the keys."
"Totally."Adyson agreed with a smirk. "You bones are weak as jelly."
Marco unlocked Star's hands and Adyson unlocked Serena's hands.
"I can't believe you're both here; I was thinking we'd maybe never see each other–"Marco started.
Star hugged Marco while her horns were poking him in the chin.
"Star?"Marco asked in disbelief. "Your horns...are poking me."
"Take them off."Star whispered.
Marco takes off Star's horns and returned the hug.
Serena and Adyson smirked at each other.
Then there was a rustle sound.
"Your stomach just made a weird noise."Star commented.
"Yeah, that was supposed to be a surprise. I brought you this..."Marco admitted and lifted up his hoodie to reveal a box of Captain Blanche's Sugar Seeds. "Sorry there's none left. Me and your dad ate 'em all when we where locked up in the dungeon."
"Aw, man, you guys got to eat cereal together in the dungeon?"Star chuckled. "Jealous."
"Star, your dad, he–"Adyson started.
"Yeah, I know."Star replied. "Ludo tev-a-tay-tato-ta-potato'd him. If Ludo mastered it, it can't be dangerous."
"I think it's kinda bad, Star."Marco said.
"Marco, honestly, he's been through worse."Star laughed. "Way worse."
"No offence, but I think we have bigger problems right now."Serena complemented.
"Well, you're in luck, girls."Marco stated and whistled the bird call, but nothing happened. "Come on, guys, we practiced this."
Marco does a bird call.
"Mourning dove!"Marco called put.
"That's not what doves sound like on Mewni."Foolduke reminded.
"Argh!"Adyson groaned and face palmed. "Just get down here!"
Foolduke, Ruberiot and Mime Girl drop from a ventilation shaft.
"Star, Serena, allow me to introduce..."Marco said and puts on a beret, in French accent. "La resistance!"
Marco unfolded a simple map of the castle.
"The easiest way to depose a ruler is to destroy his credibility. So..."Marco responded and putting objects on the map. "...this virtual pet will represent Ludo. And this 650 dollars is us. And this feather is bird and spider. Normally, they're always with him or nearby, except bird and spider break to feed every five hours. When he's alone, we take this air duct to the throne room. And that's when Foolduke hits him with..."
"Rubber chicken!"Foolduke finished and took out a rubber chicken.
"Nope."Marco replied.
Foolduke squeezed the rubber chicken.
"Uh, how about whoopee cushion?"Foolduke asked.
"We can use an axe."Adyson suggested excitedly.
"No Adyson, we talked about this before."Marco reminded and looked at Ruberiot. "Ruberiot?"
"I have a ripping parody song I've been working on."Ruberiot remarked.
"He is great at ruining people's lives with songs."Star stated. "Marco, it seems like you guys are just kinda playing pranks."
"Yeah, we're still working on that payoff part."Marco commented.
"Okay, look, what you're doing here is, like, totally super-admirable and Marco, you've never looked cuter in that beret, but Ludo is not the problem here."Star admitted.
"It turned out the jerk face Toffee is controlling him."Serena explained. "And we don't think a song is gonna fix things-"
Ludo entered the dungeon unexpectedly carrying a tray with tea.
"Actually, Star, I was thinking ab–"Ludo started and dropped the tray when he saw the group. "Guards!"
Rats storm into the dungeons and chained the resistance group.
All five of them besides Star and Serena were chained to the wall.
"You'll never silence the resistance!"Ruberiot shouted.
The rats were guarding Star and Serena.
"You two are coming with me!"Ludo snapped pointing at Star and Serena. "Levitato!"
Ludo grabbed Star and Serena with his magic.
"Hey!"Serena growled. "Put us down!"
"Whoaaah! What the heck?"Star demanded and struggled to break free. "Oh, of course."
Ludo, Star and Serena leave the dungeon.
Ludo brought the two girls outside on a balcony of the castle and released them from the spell.
"All right, Ludo. What are you gonna do now? Levitato me again?"Star questioned sarcastically. "Oh, I'm so scared. That was the worst."
"Actually, you said something earlier about my, um...about my..."Ludo cleared his throat and puts his wand hand behind his back. "...about my W-O-N-D."
"Oh, so now you want my help?"Star asked.
"Of course I want help! I've been talking to my own hand!"Ludo reminded. "It keeps me up all night! I can't sleep, I can't think! I can't focus on my new job as Mewni's beloved monarch!"
Star and Serena glanced at each other.
The wand hand glowed green causing Ludo to answer it.
"Wha–? Oh, hello. Yes, of course. I... no...what?"Ludo asked. "Of course I'm beloved! Didn't you hear the song?"
"Hey Ludo."Serena said. "Why do you think Star came here without her wand and I didn't use my ring?"
"Because...you were both surrendering?"Ludo suggested.
"It's corrupted! By Toffee!"Star snapped. "He's in the wands, Ludo."
"In the wa...in the wands?!"Ludo panicked. "Get him out! I don't want to be corrupted! I don't want to be corrupted! How did he even get in there? How did he even get in there?!"
"I don't know how he got in there. The last time me and Rena saw him, he..."Star started and froze in realisation. "Ohhhhh!"
"You used the whispering spell, Star."Serena admitted gritting her teeth. "And that is how he managed to corrupt your wand and my ring!"
"Yuck!"Ludo groaned in fear.
"Ludo, please."Star sighed and sighed. "I think I know how to get Toffee out."
"And then I can go back to being a beloved monarch?"Ludo asked hopefully.
"Um...yeah."Star answered.
Serena scoffed and rolled her eyes.
Ludo holds out his wand arm.
Star walked over to it, knelt and began whispering to it with Serena standing close to her.
The half-star turned black as Star did the whispering spell.
In the Dungeon...
Ruberiot, Foolduke, Marco and Adyson were chanting.
"We are the resistance!"They chanted. "We remain insistent!"
Some rats open up the door, clearly annoyed.
"We're the resistance!"Ruberiot, Foolduke, Marco and Adyson chanted.
"You can't silence the resistance!"Marco stated. "And gimme back my beret!"
The rats ignored Marco's request and approached him armed.
"Wait, why are you...?"Marco asked nervously. "Actually, the resistance can be quieter."
Foolduke continued chanting.
"Be brave, Marco!"Ruberiot instructed. "You may fall, but the resistance lives on!"
"And don't worry, I will happily take your place as leader."Adyson assured.
"What?!"Marco said in shock.
The rat guard holds up a spear to Marco's face.
"Why just me?!"Marco cried.
Suddenly the rat holding the spear was suddenly beat up.
"Karate boy."Buff Frog said and throws the rats against wall, creating a hole.
"Buff Frog!"Marco chuckled.
"Also..."Buff Frog responded and stepped aside to reveal Queen Moon and Valen.
"Marco!"Queen Moon said.
"Queen Moon?!"Marco said excitedly. "Mr Wilson?"
"Daddy!"Adyson gasped excitedly.
Queen Moon slashed Marco's chains open while Valen opened Adyson's chains.
Adyson hugged Valen, who hugged her back.
"I should ground you for sneaking away, but I'm glad your safe."Valen admitted.
"Aw..thanks, dad."Adyson giggled. "Don't worry, Gruncle Lazlo said I could come here with him."
Valen frowned. "I see."
"Where are Star and Serena?"Queen Moon asked.
"Ludo took them."Marco replied. "We have to find him before he does something awful."
"What about..."Buff Frog started gesturing to the resistance. "...arts-and-crafts friends?"
"The resistance will live on without me and Adyson."Marco assured.
"Yeah."Adyson agreed with a nod.
"Aw."Ruberiot said sadly.
"What?"Foolduke asked.
Marco, Queen Moon, Valen, Adyson and Buff Frog exit through a hole in the wall that Buff Frog made.
Buff Frog picked up his companions and hopped from balcony to balcony.
He nearly missed one and cling to the edge.
Star and Serena were on an adjacent balcony.
"Star!"Queen Moon shouted getting off of Buff Frog.
"Serena!"Valen called out.
Queen Moon, Marco, Valen and Adyson get on the balcony and tried to get a closer look at Star and Serena.
Buff Frog was still on the ledge.
"Hey mum."Star said. "Hi, Marco."
"Hi dad and Adyson."Serena greeted with a weak smile.
A green ghostly Millhorse escaped from Ludo's wand hand.
"We're sorry, you guys."Star apologised.
The ghost millhorse whinnied and went away.
"The...The Whispering Spell!"Queen Moon cried slamming fists. "No! Star! Serena!"
"You girls get away!"Valen protested. "You run away from there!"
"It's too late, dad."Serena said sadly and looked at Star. "Star, if anything bad happens I want you know it has been a good run."
Star gives Serena a small smile.
"So does this mean that everything's back to normal?"Ludo asked.
"It's not over yet."Star replied.
"What do you mean it's not–"Ludo started.
The wand began to explode causing entire tower and balcony along with Star, Serena and Ludo to be obliterated.
Marco, Queen Moon, Valen and Adyson had shocked expressions of what they just witnessed.
"No!"Valen shouted.
"Star!"Marco said.
"Serena!"Adyson sobbed.
"No, no, no!"Queen Moon shouted. "Buff Frog, we have to go now!"
Buff Frog grunted as he grabbed Marco and Queen Moon before hopping on to the ledge.
Valen picked up Adyson and they went down with their companions.
The group run into the crater where the tower used to stand.
Queen Moon uncovered Ludo from some of the debris.
"Ludo!"Queen Moon said. "Where's Star and Serena?"
Ludo's eyes light up and were in a pink colour.
Star and Serena woke up before gasping.
The two girls were waist deep in an area with dark green ooze.
"Rena, where are we?"Star asked.
"I don't know."Serena replied.
In Mewni...
"Where is my daughter and niece?"Queen Moon questioned.
"Mum! Mum, mum!"Star/Ludo remarked. "We're in here!"
Ludo's eyes turned orange.
"We're together and totally fine!"Serena/Ludo remarked.
"Star? Serena?"Queen Moon asked in surprise. "Is that you?"
"Yes, it's us!"Star/Ludo said.
Moon hugged Ludo and kissed his cheeks.
"Oh, thank goodness!"Queen Moon said in relief. "Oh!"
"Mum, stop it."Ludo/Star giggled.
"Your making us, blush!"Ludo/Serena chuckled.
In the Unknown Area...
"Oh, Star, Serena!"Queen Moon said. "Where are you?"
"Well, but, uh, but, ah...we don't exactly know where we are."Star admitted.
"But it's really dark and creepy here."Serena commented.
"That's okay, sweetie."Queen Moon said. "The important thing is, you're safe. Just stay right there."
Suddenly the connection screen started breaking up.
"And no matter whe–we'll find you both-"Queen Moon started.
Queen Moon's voice broke off as she flickered out of existence from Star and Serena's perspective.
The ooze started to form waves.
"Auntie?"Serena asked.
"Mum?"Star asked. "Mum, yeah, can you repeat that? I–"
Outside...
Ludo's eyes closed.
"Star? Serena?"Queen Moon asked. "Are you still there?"
"Mummy?"Star asked. "Oh, what is happening?! Mum?"
"Star."Serena said in concern. "Something is not right where we are."
A large wave of ooze emerged behind Star and Serena.
A giant eye emerged as it opened its lid from the ooze.
Serena gasped in shock.
"Ohh, crazy eye, crazy eye, crazy eye!"Star panicked.
A large geyser of ooze erupted, revealing a large claw.
Star and Serena quickly swam the other way only to be trapped by another claw.
The eye started to lift up, revealing another eye, a mouth and a neck.
It was Toffee.
"Hello, princesses."Toffee greeted with a menacing smile.
"Toffee?! Aha! I knew it! I knew it was you all along!"Star chuckled and froze. "Wha...wait. Is all this goop you?"
Toffee smiled at the two girls.
"Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew."Star mumbled.
"Disgusting."Serena scoffed and shivered in displeasure.
Toffee began to swim around Star and Serena.
"You don't even recognize your own magic when you're swimming in it."Toffee said smugly.
"This stuff is the magic?"Star asked and lifted up something gold?"
"It was."Toffee stated. "Until I got here."
Toffee touched the gold magic and turned dark green.
"So you really are what's been making our magic so corrupt."Serena said with a frown. "You've been sucking away all of the magic that is existing!"
"Do I even need to confirm what was blatantly obvious?"Toffee asked.
"Oh, boy, that's not good."Stat commented nervously. "Mum, we've got a problem!"
"Only I can speak to her now."Toffee commented and opened up a connection to the outside.
Ludo opened his eyes and they were in a green colour.
"Hello Moon."Ludo/Toffee greeted with a smirk.
"Toffee."Queen Moon said with a hint of fear.
Marco, Adyson and Buff Frog gasped while Valen had a cold glare.
Ludo/Toffee started hovering in mid-air.
"Give us back daughters, you black hearted creep!"Valen scowled.
"Oh, of course, Valen."Ludo/Toffee replied. "But I'd like something from you first. Something that belongs to me."
Ludo/Toffee holds out arm with the missing finger.
Valen glanced at Queen Moon.
Queen Moon reluctantly gets out his finger and holds it up.
"Take it."Queen Moon admitted.
"Aunt Moon, don't!"Serena shouted. "Don't listen to him!"
"No, mum, stop!"Star protested. "We can take him! Just hold on! Please!"
Star and Serena swam toward Toffee's ooze form, but he pushed them away with an effortless gesture.
Star and Serena tried again, swimming much faster.
Toffee missed the two girls a few times before grabbing them.
"Poor little Butterflies. You've lost your wings."Toffee chuckled. "Now, your Majesty...do we have a deal?"
Queen Moon laid Toffee's finger in his fingerless hand.
It magically fused back.
Toffee began to ooze towards the ceiling as Star and Serena hugged each other.
"Good-bye."Toffee said darkly.
Toffee continued to ooze upwards and vanished.
"NO!"Star and Serena shouted in terror.
Star and Serena fell into the black ooze.
Outside...
Ludo's eyes turned from green to black and his body became lifeless.
Ludo then extends his arm as Toffee grew from Ludo into his reptilian form and his suit grew back too.
Toffee vomited out Ludo.
"Yeech."Ludo groaned.
Toffee looked at his arm as the scar on his finger fades entirely and moved his fingers.
Adyson stared at Toffee in fear as Valen went in front of her while glaring at Toffee.
"Where's are my daughter and niece?"Queen Moon asked.
"Where are Star and Serena?!"Marco demanded.
Toffee, still in disbelief over being alive, extended his hand outwards and crushed the black half-star fragment to dust.
"They're gone."Toffee responded and walked away.
Buff Frog and Marco gasped in shock while Adyson covered her mouth in horror.
Valen stood frozen while his fists clenched tightly.
Moon Butterfly's eyes tear up, her cheek diamonds and arms grow dark purple veins.
Her diamonds then turn dark purple.
She had lost her little girls from the monster that killed her mother and violated Pamela.
The Queen of Mewni roared and chased after Toffee to get revenge.
Toffee sighed in annoyance as he turned around and striked Queen Moon's punch aside.
Toffee blocked a few more punched from Queen Moon and caught her fists.
Queen Moon broke free and holds Star's wand to his chest to perform the spell that Eclipsa gave her.
"I call the darkness onto me from deepest depths of Earth and sea!"Queen Moon chanted. "From ancient evils unawoken, break the one who can't be broken! From blackest night I pledge my soul and crush my heart to burning coal! To summon forth the deadly power to see my hated foe devoured!"
The spell did nothing much to Queen Moon's sorrow.
Queen Moon cried while Toffee holds up her arm with the wand.
"Are you finished?"Toffee questioned with a frown.
Valen angrily punched his fist through Toffee's body while his eyes were tearing up.
Toffee's body regenerated instantly.
Toffee punched Valen into a boulder making him groan in pain.
"Dad!"Adyson cried.
Adyson, Buff Frog and Marco ran over to help Valen, while Toffee grabbed Queen Moon, shoving her into the ground, then turning to walk away apathetically.
Ludo grabbed Toffee's pant leg.
"Please...just tell me."Ludo begged. "Did I have any part to play in this?"
"No."Toffee replied.
Ludo's beak trembled and Toffee continued to walk away.
Valen brushed away the blood that was coming out of his mouth as he glared at Toffee with a raged look while Adyson had tears falling down from her eyes.
Star and Serena from the surface of the ooze, only to go under again.
Star's cheek marks glowed in a gold colour while Serena's cheek marks glowed in a magenta colour.
The girls spotted pieces of gold and magenta magic.
Star and Serena swam towards them, but the waves pushed the girls away.
The princesses notice their cheeks stopped glowing.
"Come on, come on...!"Star cried. "Huh? Yes! What are you..."
"Star look!"Serena said.
The two girls struggled to swim over to them, only for their glows to fade right as they extended their arms to grab them.
Their cheek marks stopped glowing again.
As Star and Serena stared tearfully at the ceiling while their cheek marks glowed once more.
The girls soon spotted another pieces of gold magenta magic deep under the ooze and they dived under to get them.
Once again, the pieces faded before the girls reached them.
Star and Serena both run out of breath, screaming under ooze as it entered their mouths.
Then everything turned black.
In Mewni...
Adyson wiped Valen's mouth with a tissue.
"Daddy."Adyson sobbed. "Serena and Star can't be gone, right?"
"I don't believe anything that jerk says."Valen assured and winced.
"Sorry."Adyson apologised.
"Karate boy."Buff Frog said.
Marco notice Queen Moon was attempting to gathered the particles of the broken star fragment and assemble them in Star's wand.
"Come on, come on. Why won't you fit?"Queen Moon cried. "Come on."
"Queen?"Marco asked.
"M-Maybe if I-I put the wand back together, it'll, it'll, it'll bring them back."Queen Moon sobbed. "But this piece won't fit."
"Here."Marco said and holds up a piece. "Try this one."
Somewhere...
"Star!"Serena's voice called out. "Star, wake up!"
Star opened her eyes seeing Serena staring at her worriedly while Glossaryck was holding out a spoon of soup to her.
"I glad to see you okay."Serena chuckled weakly and dried her tears.
"Does this need, uh, salt?"Glossaryck asked.
Unresponsive, Glossaryck decided to stick the spoon at Star's cheek.
"Hey, hey."Glossaryck said. "Hey. Hey. Hey."
"Oh, knock it off!"Star yelled as Serena helped her up.
Glossaryck sticked the spoon in Star's mouth.
"Mmph!"Star groaned.
"Less salt?"Glossaryck asked. "More salt?"
Star spit out the soup in disgust.
"More salt."Glossaryck responded.
"You betrayed us and all you can do is make stew?!"Serena said angrily.
"I'm sorry it seemed that way."Glossaryck apologised. "Can we get beyond this and just enjoy our time here together in...wherever we are?"
"Ha!"Star laughed. "You think I'm gonna stay here with you, eat your dumb magic soup, while Toffee is out there doing who knows what?!"
"He could be killing our loved ones!"Serena cried in anger.
"Star, Serena..."Glossaryck started.
"Or maybe they would probably think we are dead."Star sobbed.
"Star."Glossaryck said.
"Maybe we are dead."Star panicked.
"Star! Serena! Look at me."Glossaryck said. "This is where we are now. And this soup is not magic anymore. It's just...soup. So stop being foolish and eat the soup."
The girls notice gold and pink particles appearing in the middle of the cauldron before they faded.
"No."Serena replied firmly and smirked. "I get what you're doing."
"Mm-hmm."Glossaryck replied. "What am I doing?"
Star looked at Serena, understanding what she meant.
"This is just another one of your games. You're going out of your way to make us get to this on our own."Star commented confidently. "Oh, you didn't think we wouldn't catch on, Glossaryck, because you think we are skimmer. But we are dippers."
"What are you two doing?"Glossaryck asked.
Star and Serena held their hands up.
"We're getting us out of here."
"Girls! No!"Glossaryck protested. "It's boiling!"
"Dip...doooown!"Star and Serena showed in unison.
Star and Serena sticked their hands into the stew causing them to burn and shout in pain.
Their hands started to burn.
"Uh-oh."Glossaryck mumbled as he lowered down.
However, the gold and pink specks returned as Star and Serena grabbed them and held them up.
Inside, two millhorses grew and the orbs expanded, flooding the room with gold and magenta light.
At the Sanctuary...
The black green ooze turned magenta gold and the Magic High Commission began to rejuvenate.
In Mewni...
Queen Moon, Marco, Valen, Adyson and Buff Frog were trying to piece together the wand.
Suddenly the ground shook and the wand levitated into the air, filled with gold light.
Before their eyes, the star crystal was repaired and the wand changed form.
The wand was now in a purple with white wings, but the wings were softer-edged and resembled butterfly wings with persian blue hearts. The faceplate consisted of a light-blue circle with a pentagonal pattern, a whole gold star and five pink hearts. The grip had diagonal purple and dark purple stripes. The yellow crown on the wand's tip was replaced by two red horns, there was a red heart between the bell and grip, and the charger at the wand's base appeared as a pink crystal.
Star in golden colour appeared out of thin air and reached out to grab the wand while Serena appeared in magneta colour with her ring floating in front of her.
Tears of joy appeared on Moon's face to see her daughter and niece alive.
Star undergoes a transformation, growing much larger horns, four additional arms and large golden wings.
Star wore light orange dress with yellow trim, a red belt, red heart shaped buttons and a yellow heart with ribbons that flow around Star's arms, white boots with wings on the backs of them and an orange hairband with long orange yellow horns. Star's skin appeared to be a bright yellow, her hair was twisted up into two pigtails and her eyes had big yellow stars inside them.
When Serena grabbed the magic heart ring it turned into a pink white-striped cane with a dark pink rose gem head on top of it.
As Serena transformed she appeared wearing a short white puffed-sleeve dress with a frilled white skirt and light-pink petty coat while a pink ribbon collar with a pink rose brooch was around her neck. Beneath her legs, she wore white mary jane shoes. Her orange short hair had pink frilled hair-ties that were tied around in short pig-tails. Serena also gained four extra arms and large white pink butterfly-like wings and her eyes had big pink roses inside them.
"Star!"Queen Moon said in joy. "Serena!"
"Hi mum!"Star greeted.
"What's up, Aunt Moon?"Serena chuckled.
"Hi sweethearts, don't you both look lovely."Queen Moon remarked with a smile.
"Where's Toffee?"Star asked.
Queen Moon pointed to Toffee, who was walking away.
With their new powers, Star and Serena blasted Toffee with obliterating blasts of golden magneta magic.
Toffee roared as he was disintegrated into nothing but bones and ooze.
Star and Serena fluttered down and were back in their normal selves.
The two cousins let out breaths of relief.
"Star!"Queen Moon, Valen, Adyson, Marco and Buff Frog said happily. "Serena!"
Queen Moon rushed to hug her daughter and niece.
"Oh my babies."Queen Moon admitted with a smile.
Valen, Adyson and Marco joined the hug while Buff Frog went on top of them.
"Hi."Star and Serena greeted.
"Hi."Queen Moon, Valen, Adyson, Marco and Buff Frog responded.
The happy reunion was ruined when a squishing sound and the group saw the slime remain of Toffee crawling towards them much to Queen Moon and Valen's shock.
"You think you've won? Ha!"Toffee taunted and laughed. "You don't make the plans! I do! Me! Only I know how this all turns out!"
Before the Lizard had a chance to attack the Butterfly Family, Ludo finished him off by dropping a stone pillar on him.
"It turns out you're dead! That's what you get!"Ludo replied with a smirk and looked at the group. "Hey! Look! Look what I did! All by myself!"
He picked up Toffee's eye.
"Oh, no! I can't see a thing!"Ludo laughed. "Ha-ha!"
The group stood up and walked up to the stone pillar.
"What a total jerk."Adyson said in anger and disgust.
"His the worst one, sweetheart."Valen responded with a glare.
"Do you think he's really gone?"Marco asked.
"Looks pretty gone to me."Buff Frog replied.
"Can't get more gone than that!"Ludo remarked.
"Well, let's hope he never comes back."Serena commented with a frown and placed her cane over her shoulder.
"Star, Serena, I've never seen you two do spells like that before."Marco said with a smile.
"Yeah, I'm not sure what that was."Star replied.
"Me neither."Serena added.
"I guess it means your both are at new levels of magic."Valen said proudly.
Serena hugged her father and half sister, feeling happy she was with them again.
"Okay, princess."Ludo said and held out his dimensional scissors. "I think we can both agree that I've got some stuff to work on."
"You want me to cut off the beard?"Star asked.
"No! Throw me back in the void."Ludo stated. "I need...to find myself."
Star opened a dimensional portal and Ludo jumped into Star's arms.
"I'm ready."Ludo admitted.
"Do you, uh, need a minute with them?"Star asked.
The Spider and eagle walk towards Ludo.
"What, them? I'm sorry."Ludo cried. "I have intimacy issues. Try to move on."
"Okay."Star responded. "Well, here goes."
Star threw Ludo through the portal and a bag of Gold'n Crispz for good measure.
"Good luck."Star commented.
A choir of children's singing was heard causing the group to look up.
King River and Lazlo along with a bunch of eagles were flying forward.
An army of eagles with he at the helm
Rescued the children and brought us all home
The kids are atop eagles now flying back to Mewni.
Handsome and fearless, valiant and strong
Our dearest King River we praise him in song.
"Whoo!"King River cheered. "Woo-hoo!"
"Hello there!"Lazlo called out.
The eagles flew down to the ground.
"Papa!"Star remarked.
"Gruncle Lazlo!"Adyson said happily.
Star and Adyson hugged River and Lazlo.
"That was amazing!"Marco complemented.
"Ever since Ludo Levitato'd me, I've been living among the eagles."King River explained with a smile and hugged an eagle. "They made me their king, too!"
"Where is Moon Cake?"Lazlo asked.
The group notice Moon was no longer with them.
"I don't know."Star replied. "She was just here."
"She must've went back to the castle."Serena suggested.
"Then to the castle we go!"King River chuckled.
Back in Rhombulus Crystal Room...
Queen Moon rushed to check on Eclipsa's imprisonment crystal.
The crystal was unscathed and Eclipsa was still where she was.
Queen Moon laughed a little and let out a relieved sigh.
The Queen of Mewni walked away to go back to her family and celebrate their victory with them.
But as soon as Moon left the crystal room, Eclipsa's crystal began to crack open.
The Battle of Mewni completed!
