Tuesday Mac's OBGYN
The day of Mac's OB appointment arrived, they had decided to find out the gender of the twins. Harm now found he was more scared than nervous. Mac just watched as her 6'4 husband paced the room.
"Harm would you please sit down."
"I can't, any moment that doc is going to come in here and tell us what the twins are."
"I thought you said you want to know!"
"I know I said that, but there's something to knowing and not knowing. What if they are both little girls?"
"Than we will have two little princess, for their daddy to spoil."
Harm looked scared. "Harm are you feeling okay? You look pale!"
"I'll be fine, I just need to sit down."
Harm looked over when the door opened up. Dr Kelly walked in.
"Hello Sarah, how are you feeling today?"
"As big as a house."
"That's to be expected, after all you have two growing babies in there. Now are we finding out the gender today?"
She looked from Mac to Harm. "It's his call." Mac said as she looked over at Harm.
"I... I..."
They both looked at him. "Well daddy Rabb..What's it going to be..." Dr Kelly asked.
"I think I need some air!"
"He's just nervous, suddenly he's figured out that both could be girls."
Dr Kelly laughed. "Well they could both be boys too."
Mac looked up with look of pure shock on her face. "I never thought about that. Oh my god.. 3 Harmon Rabb's..." Now they both looked at each other.
"Do you both want to talk about this some more?"
They looked at each other. Searching each other eyes for the answer. Than they smiled. Mac spoke - "We want to know."
"Alright let's get started." Dr Kelly pulled the ultrasound machine over, she raised up Mac's gown, and squeezed the gel on her abdomen. She ran the probe over looking for just the right angle. "Interesting.."
Harm and Mac both looked at the screen. Dr Kelly was now pointing to.
"Looks like baby A is a boy. Baby B is being shy right now. But let's see if we can get it to move." She moved the probe around trying to get baby B move. As of on cue baby B moved. "Well it looks like one of each, you've got a little girl and boy."
They both just stood there looking at their children. "If you'd like I can give you both a few minutes."
"Please." Harm said. Dr Kelly stood up and walked out. They both just looked at their children.
"Harm look at them, our sweet little babies, we really made them."
Harm kissed Mac on the head. "I know sweetheart, they are beautiful. Our babies are beautiful, just like you."
"I wish I could hold now. I want to hold them in my arms."
"In time baby, in time. And we can both hold them."Harm picked up a towel and wiped the gel off Mac's abdomen. He than placed his hand on there."Hello my angel's, now daddy and mommy know more about you. We are going to pick out perfect names for you both. For now you have to stay inside mommy for a little bit longer. Be good babies for daddy. I love you both."
"Oh, Harm.. I love listening to you talk to them." They both looked over to the door when Dr Kelly walked back inside.
"Oh I see you wiped off the gel."
"Yes Harm did, I've got a very hands on hubby here. "
"I'd say you do. How many pictures do you want this time?"
Mac thought for a minute. "I'd say 6, this way everyone gets one."
"Alright, I'll print these up. Sarah I still want you to remain on extended leave. Especially now, given that your close to 7 months. Your going to start getting large fast. I'm hoping we will be able to keep them in until your mid 8 month, but with twins you never know. Just keep doing what your doing, don't overdo anything, Relax when you need to. Make this hunk do everything."
"Oh I don't have to worry there, I've got the best husband ever. " Mac said as she looked over at Harm.
Harm just smiled. Dr Kelly handed Mac the print outs, telling her she'd see her again in 4 weeks. She walked out so Mac could get dressed. Mac went to get up off the exam table. She wobbled as she stood up. Harm went over to her.
Catching her in his arms, "Are okay baby? Do you need the Dr Kelly?"
"No I'm okay, just my center of gravity has shifted somewhat.Our son and daughter. "
Mac stoped as she thought about this. "Wow Harm our son and daughter." Then it hit her, in her dream their twins where a boy and girl.
Harm picked up on her sudden change. "What's wrong sweetheart?"
"The dream Harm! In the dream, the twins where a boy and a girl."
"Baby all it was, was a dream. Nothing more. Nothing bad is going to happen to me or our beautiful perfect babies."
"You promise?"
"Yes I promise! And remember"
"I know, you never make a promise you can't keep."
"That's right baby. Now let's get out of here. "
"Okay." Mac finished getting her clothes on. Once she was done they headed out of the office and out to the parking lot. Harm helped Mac into the Lexus, and they made the trip back to the apartment.
Harm and Mac's Apartment
North of Union Station
Now that they were back home for the day. Mac had changed clothes and made her way back down and over to the sofa. She propped herself up with her baby book. After changing himself Harm walked down to join her, he helped her scoot forward and slid in behind her.
Her raised up her shirt exposing her abdomen, he began to rub his hands over the smooth skin. "Ummm that feels good. You have a magic touch. We like it when daddy Rabb does that."
"Daddy Rabb likes to pamper Mommy Rabb and his babies. Speaking of the babies, what's mommy reading?"
"A baby names book!"
"Why?"
"Well I thought they might like a name! After all we can't keep calling them Babies Rabb forever."
"I already know what I want to name our daughter.And before you say no,hear me out."
"Ok counselor."
Harm cleared his throat. "If it may please the court, I would like to offer the following as my reason for the name of our daughter."
"The court is listening."
"I would like to name our baby girl Sarah Rose Rabb. Sarah after my wife and grandmother and Rose because that's where I met my wife. In a Rose garden."
Mac found herself in tears. "The court loves this idea. Now the court would like at add to this. I would like to name our son."
"What name does the court have in mind?"
"Well after reading the meanings behind the names I've chosen, I think that I have the perfect name. Harmon David Rabb, Harmon means warrior and my husband is my personal warrior, and David means beloved. And my son is my beloved."
Harm found himself in tears, "Darling that's perfect. Our children have the perfect names."
"And our children have the perfect daddy" They where interrupted by knocking on their front door. Both looked puzzled at the other. Harm got up and walked over. He looked out the peep hole. He was shocked when he saw who was on the other side.
He glanced over at Mac, not knowing really how to handle this. So he just opened the door.
"Hello Harm, it's good to see you again."
"Kate!"Before Harm could say anymore. Mac spoke up from the sofa. "Harm who's at the door?"
Harm looked from Kate to Mac. Not sure how to proceed with this. "Kate give me a minute."
"Sure." Kate just stood waiting at the door. Harm walked over to Mac. "Baby Kate Pike is at the door."
"Really what's she doing here?"
"I don't know, do you want me to let her in?"
"It's fine, after all your my husband." Mac smiled as Harm walked back over to the door.
"Come on in." Kate walked inside and over to the bar. In the meantime Mac had gotten up off the sofa. She walked over next to Harm. Making sure to take his hand.
It was now that Kate saw Mac, "Mac wow, I didn't realize that Harm was talking to you."
"Hi Kate, what brings you by?" Mac made sure to rub her belly. Kate noticed this. She then looked from Mac to Harm. "Am I missing something here?"
"Oh you mean the babies, Harm you didn't tell Kate?"
Harm just stood in silence, not wanting to put his foot in his mouth. Mac looked at Harm. "I've not had an occasion to talk to her."
"Well she's here now." Mac smiled.
"Look I only stopped by, cause I'm passing through, and I thought I'd stop by and see Harm."
"Oh well than by all means don't let little ole me stop you." Mac started to walk away, Harm stoped her.
"Kate, thank you for stoping by. You said your passing through?"
"Yes, on my way to Pax River. So you and Mac?"
Harm wrapped his arm around Mac's waist. "Yes we got married and Sarah's pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl."
"Well congrats to you both.I'm sorry to have bothered you. It was good to see Harm." Kate turned around and headed for the door. Harm followed her. He opened the door her.
She turned around, "Harm I hope your happy."
"I'm very happy, I love Sarah with everything in me."
"I got that sense last time I was here." She stared to lean in for a kiss. But than thought better of it. "Catch ya next time I'm in town." And she walked away. Harm closed the door and locked it.
Mac walked over to him. "So that was odd."
"You thought so too."
"Yes, who just shows up at someone's house out of the blue?"
"I guess it's possible. Well I for one am not going to think about her. Not when I've got you." Harm picked Mac up and carried her up to the bedroom, laying her down on the bed. "I need to pamper my wife." With that he stared removing her clothes.
