Hey, BlazeDarklight here. I know it's been a long while and my last upload was over a year ago and not uploading for that long was inexcusable.

That being said, a lot has happened since then, so please give me a bit of your time to explain.

Over a decade ago, a hopeful and ambitious teenager thought it would be fun to write a fanfiction about his favorite video game franchise at the time. What if the Pokemon anime had been more geared towards the games and had a slightly more mature vibe to it, but still kept the innocent fun? So with that simple idea he sat down and put the idea to paper.

That idea later became Pokemon: A New Beginning, my best and longest story I have ever written. That story alone meant a lot to me. I made several friends thanks to that story (You guys know who you are.) and writing it kept me sane.

So it absolutely broke my heart when the laptop I was writing A New Beginning on crashed and I lost every single file of the story, including what was to be the last chapter of the story.

After that I didn't really write anything, just a bunch of unfinished random stories here and there. But those of you who know me personally could tell that I wasn't as passionate about writing anymore.

And, over 10 years later (9 years later if you go by publish date) the story remains unfinished.

Until now.

Over a decade later, A less hopeful and, defeated by life, young adult thought it would be fun to rewrite a fanfiction about his, still, favorite video game franchise and give an old beginning a new ending.

People change a lot in a decade and I am a different person than I was when I started A New Beginning. I work a stressful job and it just tires me out (Who doesn't though.). I've dealt with several life changing events that have arguably screwed me up.

I tell you all this as a forwarning.

This story will be the same on the outside.

Things, however, will be different.

Some chapters will be taken out in an effort to clean up the story so that it flows better. Characters will be taken out of the story completely. No OCs this time, sorry.

But most importantly, since A New Beginning was published, New Pokemon have been created.

That's all I will say in an effort to not spoil too much.

Nothing is set in stone, though, especially upload dates. I'm actually writing this bit before I've even started on the rewrite.

I please ask for your continued patience and will do my best to set an upload schedule and stick with it.

That's all I have to say for now, I've already rambled on enough.

I hope that the rewrite can reach the heights of its original incarnation. I am actually a little hopeful that with the new friends I have made since 2010 and the help that they can give will make this rewrite better than the original.

Update: Okay so this part is being written in early February.

After writing the above part almost 3 months ago, a lot has happen since then. I actually got Chapter 1 of rewrite done and I had decided to upload in February. I wanted to get a few more chapters prewritten before then, so I could have something to fall back to incase I didn't get to writing chapters for a while

.

However, there was a slight hiccup in my personal life that threw that out the window. I won't say much, but I will just say I've had to work more to compensate and thus haven't had enough time (Or motivation) to write.

The good news is that my friend, Jedi Knight Ryan, has convinced me to at least upload Chapter 1 and go from there. So who knows, maybe the feedback from chapter 1 will motivate me.

Anyway, I'm going to upload this and chapter 1 sometime today. Look forward to it.
