Sesshomaru's POV

I left the front of the cave and sniffed the air, the only thing I could smell was the forest but every nerve in my body was telling me to look closer. I scanned the area and listened for anything that would give anyone away. There was nothing. I turned to go back into the cave when I felt our bond vibrate in fear. alarmed I dashed through the cave and out the back tunnel.

I spotted her immediately and growled. "Idris!"

They both turned to me Idris smirked and Kagome eyed me warily. "Sesshomaru." Idris purred. "What a pleasant surprise, I was wondering what it would take to draw you out."

I glared at her. "What are you doing here?"

Idris pouted. "Awe Sesshomaru, you know why I'm here." She looked over at Kagome and sneered. "I heard a nasty little rumor about you and a." She shivered. "Human. I came to see if it was true."

I smirked at her and spread my arms wide. "Do you see any humans around here?"

I watched Kagome shrink out of the corner of my eye and sighed.

I looked over at Idris and watched her sniff the air. "I don't smell a human." she stalked towards Kagome. "But I sense something...strange... off of your new." She smirked. "Servant?"

I growled at her. "She is no servant."

Kagome kept quiet watching us both fearfully.

Idris smirked and walked over to Kagomes side. I tensed as she reached up and gripped her chin turning her head to look her over. "What is she to you?" She leaned in and sniffed Kagomes neck.

I snarled at her, panic starting to take over. "She is nothing to me." I felt pain and despair vibrate through our bond and wanted to rip Idris's throat out.

Idris looked over at me with a smile. "Then why are you sharing your bed with her?" I stiffened, if anyone found out about Kagome being my soulmate she would be hunted.

I sighed and shook my head. "I would not make her sleep on the cave floor, I gave her my furs."

Idris visibly relaxed. "Always a gentleman Sesshomaru." She walked away from kagome and I relaxed as well. "I expect to see you at the castle soon, you have an obligation to uphold."

I growled at her. "Leave!"

she smirked and vanished into the forest. I looked over at Kagome her face was hidden by her hair but I could feel her pain and confusion. "Kagome-"

She shook her head and went back to the entrance of the tunnel.
