Sith and Superweapon

"What do you think?"

Ahsoka was silent for a long while before sighing. "With the five of us, we might have a chance to defeat Vader. I think we should take it. Besides, there may actually be knowledge we can use inside of this temple."

Damian sighed and nodded. "Alright. Maul. Show us how to get in."

"At the top of this temple, there is a shrine," Maul said, pointing up at the glowing red portion at the top. "Place the Holocron on the obelisk there, and you will unlock this temple's secrets."

"Lead the way," Damian said. "I'm not letting a Sith walk behind me."

Maul nodded and walked past them, Damian following immediately after with his lightsaber in hand, Kanan following him, then Ezra, then Ahsoka. After a couple of minutes of walking, Maul stopped at a corner of the temple.

"Now what?" Kanan asked.

Maul rested his hand on the temple and it glowed red, a square section before them dropping. Ezra stared in wide-eyed wonder as it dropped for several seconds before stopping. It reached the ground and Ezra stepped onto it, Maul stepping up beside him. However, as Kanan stepped forward, Maul held up a hand.

"Only two," Maul said. "No more no less."

"Yeah?" Kanan asked, shoving Maul off of the lift and taking his place. "Well these two come as a set."

Maul narrowed his eyes but exhaled slowly, resting his hand on the wall and sending Kanan and Ezra up. Once they were off, he lowered the lift again and Ahsoka stepped onto it. Maul motioned for Damian to step onto the lift.

"I'm not foolish enough to try to come between you and your wife," Maul said. "Unless the two of you are both wearing rings for someone else entirely."

Damian stepped onto the lift with Ahsoka. "Well, since it's a no more no less, situation, I guess we'll have to find our way without you from here."

"We shall see," Maul said.

Damian narrowed his eyes and waited in silence as they rose, only to find Ezra dueling the new Inquisitor at the top. He was holding his own well, keeping the fight even, and Kanan was lying off to the side, beginning to stir, probably from a surprise attack. Damian extended his lightsaber's blades and charged, slashing at the Inquisitor from behind and he deflected Ezra's blade before beginning to struggle to fend off both. After a couple of moments, he leapt backward just as the Ninth Sister's corpse shot past. Damian looked to the side, seeing maul sprinting toward them, lightsaber out, and narrowed his eyes. How the hell had he gotten her corpse?

"Damian, duck!" Ahsoka said.

Damian did as instructed and Ahsoka flipped over him, deflecting the Inquisitor's blade before forcing them back quickly. Damian stood, gripping his lightsaber and streaking forward, passing Ahsoka just as she forced the Inquisitor to leap backward, then beginning to strike at him quickly, twisting, spinning, and propellering his lightsaber as needed. He wasn't used to the hilt being as long as it was, but he was getting better with it. Finally, the Inquisitor leapt up onto the wall Damian had forced him back to, then off of it and high into the air, spinning his lightsaber and flying away. Damian sighed, deactivating his lightsaber just as the other two flew over them toward the top of the temple.

"Looks like they've figured out your plan," Kanan said.

"Then we alter it," Maul said. "I suggest we split up, and approach the top from both sides. They will also have to divide their forces."

"And let me guess, Ezra goes with you?" Kanan asked. "I don't think so."

"It is the logical choice," Maul said.

"Kanan, trust me," Ezra said.

Kanan stared at Ezra for a moment with a look Damian couldn't quite identify, but which made Ezra all but radiate guilt and hurt, before sighing. "Fine."

"Excellent," Maul said. "Excellent. You shall find another lift on the far side. We will meet again on the next terrace. Oh, and you'll need that." He gestured to the Ninth Sister's corpse as the lift began to rise with him and Ezra.

"I want to kill him," Damian said.

"Not yet," Ahsoka said. "Are you going to use the body?"

"No," Damian sighed. "I'll just run up the wall."

"You can do that?" Kanan asked.

"Well, it's slanted," Damian said. "So...probably."

"If not I'll drop back down and ride back up with you," Ahsoka said.

Damian nodded and they started around the temple.

"He'll be fine," Ahsoka said to Kanan, who was clearly worried.

"Yeah?" Kanan asked. "And how do you know that?"

"Because," Ahsoka smiled. "You taught him."

Kanan smiled as well and nodded. They reached the lift and Kanan and Ahsoka started up it, Damian backing up and crouching. Then, as they neared the top, he shot forward, pushing his speed with the Force and sent himself hurtling up the wall. It wasn't an easy task, and his feet kept slipping, but he began to ascend. Suddenly, the Fifth Brother ignited his lightsaber behind Kanan and Ahsoka, who were watching Damian.

"Ahsoka!" Damian thought.

Ahsoka's eyes shot wide open before the spun, lightsaber's both igniting in time to deflect the Inquisitor's blades over herself and Kanan, who ignited his own lightsaber as well and moved to help her. As Damian neared the top, he heard a lightsaber below himself and flipped off of the wall, igniting his lightsaber just in time to slash, splitting the new Inquisitor's lightsaber in half, as well as splitting the Inquisitor's right arm from fist to elbow, and the Inquisitor shouted in pain as he fell. Damian swore as he fell as well, only for Kanan to suddenly grab him with the Force and yank him to the top. Damian flipped over Kanan and landed beside Ahsoka, blocking one of the Fifth Brother's blades as Ahsoka blocked the other one with both lightsabers. Damian pivoted, slashing upward with his other blade and the Inquisitor leapt backward.

"I got the other one," Damian said. "We're down to two plus Maul."

Ahsoka nodded. They both lunged, striking at the Fifth Brother rapidly, forcing him back fast. Damian blasted him, sending him flying, only for him to flip, stopping himself just shy of the edge with the Force.

"Kanan, go meet up with Maul and Ezra," Damian said.

Kanan nodded and turned, running to a set of stairs nearby. As he did, the Fifth Brother charged at Damian and Ahsoka again, both once again beginning to force him back more and more. Then, the Inquisitor Damian thought he'd killed flipped over the edge, holding a new lightsaber in his left hand, the right having a thumb and one finger left, and attacked Damian. Damian flipped backward from the first strike, then blocked the Inquisitor's blade, holding him back.

"You carry two?" Damian asked.

"This is the Seventh Sister's," the Inquisitor said. "She has fallen, which means that I can ascend the ranks once I kill you!"

"Don't count on it," Damian said, then shoved the blade aside, spinning and dropping to a knee, facing away from the Inquisitor just as the Inquisitor's lightsaber flashed over his head.

He drove his lightsaber back and up through the Inquisitor's chest from below, impaling him with the back blade, then stood and spun, slashing out the Inquisitor's side before stopping, seeing Ahsoka slash both projectors off of the Fifth Brother's spinning lightsaber. He dropped the weapon and Damian shoved his hand forward, a massive, concentrated Force Push so strong it was tinted blue exploding out of his left hand while he pulled Ahsoka out of the way with his right. When the Force Push hit the Fifth Brother, it hit him so hard that his body contorted and broke, the Fifth Brother screaming in agony as he sailed through the air, then went silent as he crashed to the ground.

"That seemed excessive," Ahsoka said.

"Probably," Damian agreed. "But it did the trick."

Ahsoka sighed and they turned, running up the stairs after Kanan. However just as they arrived, Maul's lightsaber descended, slamming into Kanan's sideways one and a blast of the Force shoved Kanan's arms backward, his lightsaber hitting him across the eyes. Kanan shouted in pain, staggering backward and falling to his knees, his hand held to his face, and Maul moved in for the kill. However, before he could get there, Damian blasted him with the Force, launching him. Maul flipped, landing on his feet, glaring at Damian, as he stepped between Kanan and Maul.

"What happened?" Damian asked.

"He sent Ezra ahead to place the Holocron, then attacked me, in order to try and take Ezra as his apprentice," Kanan said. "Damian, this place. it's not a temple, it's a battle station!"

"Ahsoka, stop Ezra," Damian said, turning to Kanan. "Sit up Kanan, I'll try to heal you."

Kanan sat up and Damian's hand began to glow over his face. However, when he pulled his hand away a few moments later, the wound had healed into a scar, but Kanan's eyes were a milky white still.

"Shit," Damian said. "I'm sorry. I can't heal your sight."

"Help Ezra," Kanan said. "I'll be okay."

Damian nodded just as a massive beam of pink energy suddenly shot into the sky, the temple shaking. Damian grit his teeth, extending his lightsaber's bladesa nd turning to Maul.

"The power will be mine!" Maul shouted. "Ezra will be mine! And there is nothing you can do to stop me!"

He sent a massive Force Blast at Kanan, forcing Damian to step in front of Kanan, blocking the Force Blast while Maul leapt up the stairs to the apparent control room. However, before he could get there, Damian grabbed him with the Force and yanked him back down. Maul flipped, landing hard and rolling to a stop as Kanan stood, wearing a faded, dusty Temple Guard mask. He ignited his lightsaber and held it in reverse grip at shoulder height, the blade horizontal out to his right.

"Go," Kanan said. "I'll finish this."

"You sure?" Damian asked.

"I'm sure," Kanan nodded.

Damian set a hand on his shoulder. "You can do this."

Kanan nodded and Damian turned, leaping up to the next level and landing at a jog just as Ahsoka reached him, both heading for the final set of stairs. The problem, however, was the fact that they could both sense Vader had arrived. Damian looked up as his TIE fighter descended to the control room, Vader jumping off the top of it into the temple. They sped up, both sprinting up the stairs and reaching the top to find Ezra struggling to fend of Vader. His strikes had more power behind them than Ezra could handle, and he was backpedaling rapidly. However, once they were off the stairs, Damian shoved a hand and sent Vader flying past the obelisk in the center, away from Ezra. Ezra turned, jogging over to them and turning back to Vader as Damian extended his lightsaber blades.

"Ezra, head down the stairs to Kanan," Damian said. "He got hurt fighting Maul, who turned on him as soon as you were out of the way. He'll need your help getting back to the Phantom."

"Kanan's hurt?" Ezra asked worriedly. "How bad?"

"It was foretold that you would be here," Vader said, walking toward them. "Our long awaited meeting has come at last."

"I'm glad I gave you something to look forward to," Ahsoka said.

"We need not be adversaries," Vader said. "The Emperor will show you mercy if you tell me where the remaining Jedi can be found."

"I'll tell you where they are," Damian offered. "Right about now, they should be on Tatooine, jacking off onto your mother's grave."

Vader's breathing, a loud wheezing, followed by the whirring of his suit's life-support systems, began to grow louder as the temple began to tremble. Damian swallowed hard. Pissing off a Sith Lord on a planet that strengthens Dark Side users probably isn't the best idea, but it's about the only way to make him make a mistake.

"You are very foolish, Damian Shan," Vader said. "You believe you are a Jedi, but you are simply a smuggler with a sword."

"Oh, I know I'm not a Jedi," Damian said. "I never was. But I'm not a smuggler either, anymore. Now, I'm a rebel."

"Then you will die," Vader said. "And so will your wife."

"You know, I used to think I knew who you were behind that mask," Ahsoka said. "But now I know I was wrong. My master could never be that vile."

"Anakin Skywalker was weak," Darth Vader said. "I destroyed him."

"Then I will avenge his death," Ahsoka snarled.

"Revenge is not the Jedi way," Vader said.

"I am no Jedi," Ahsoka said, igniting her lightsabers.

Vader held his in front of himself, and after a moment, all three charged. Ahsoka sped ahead of Vader, striking at him before beginning to deflect his strikes. After the third, Damian spun past her, slashing with his lightsaber. Vader blocked it and shoved it away, then blocked the other side too. Ahsoka jumped, slashing at him but he leaned out of the way and shoved a hand forward, hurling her away with the Force. He returned his attention to Damian, who began to spun, slash, slash, stab, and propeller his lightsaber, striking rapidly, Vader only barely able to keep up as he deflected everything. Finally, Vader moved to slash at Damian and Damian dropped, spinning and slashing at Vader's legs, only for one to snap up, kicking Damian under the chin and throwing him backward, Damian's lightsaber spinning away. He pushed himself up just as Vader stabbed at him, only for the Lightsaber to stop against Damian's hand, his right bracing his left. Damian grit his teeth, struggling to disperse the Lightsaber's energy enough to hold the blade back. Then, Ahsoka reached them, slamming a kick into Vader's helmet, knocking him back a couple of steps before she was striking at him again. Again he blocked everything, but after a moment, she leapt backward from a slash and Damian sent a Force Push into Vader, launching him out of the temple. Ahsoka and Damian chased after him, Damian pulling his lightsaber back to himself as he ran and reigniting it. Outside, there was a thin walkway on which Vader had landed, and on which their fight began again. This time, Vader began the fight by sending a blast of the Force through his blade into Damian, as Damian could do, sending him flying back into the temple. Damian slammed into the obelisk just as Kanan and Ezra ripped the Holocron out of it, and a blast of pink energy exploded into Damian's back, hurling him away from the obelisk. He crashed to the ground, groaning, and pushed himself up, only to find Vader just in front of him.

"This fight is over," Vader said. "Die."

His lightsaber flashed up from Vader's side, crashing into the side of Damian's helmet in a shower of sparks. It bounced off, surprising Vader, but it also disoriented Damian badly. he staggered to the side, holding a hand to his head. Vader recovered from his surprise instantly and moved to stab him. However, Damian dropped into a squat, Vader's lightsaber flashing over him before Damian extended one of his own blades and slashed upward at Vader. Vader leapt backward, then spun to strike at Ahsoka as she leapt at him, only for her to slash half of his mask off, landing heavily behind him. Damian blasted Vader away from her and knelt beside her.

"Are you okay?" Damian asked.

"I'm alright," Ahsoka said, pushing herself up slowly. "He threw me off the platform and I hit pretty hard, but I'll be fine."

Damian nodded.

"Ahsoka, Damian!" Ezra shouted, Damian realizing the walls of the temple were closing. "Come on, hurry!"

"Ahsoka," Vader said, his voice partially undistorted by the hole in his mask.

Ahsoka's eyes widened in recognition and she turned, staring at Vader, as he looked up at her.

"Ahsoka," Vader called out again.

"Anakin," Ahsoka breathed, then straightened up, gripping her lightsabers tightly. "I won't leave you! Not this time."

Vader was silent for several long moments before narrowing his eyes. "Then you will die."

He ignited his lightsaber and Damian did the same, stepping in front of Ahsoka.

"Damian, you need to go," Ahsoka said, resting a hand on his shoulder. "This place is going to explode."

"Ahsoka," Damian smiled, looking back at her. "You're the love of my life. I'll never leave you, especially when that would mean you'll probably die. I know how much this fight is hurting you. I know how much guilt you're feeling because of your master's fate, and how much pain the thought of killing him is causing you. So I'll kill him for you to free you from that pain."

Ahsoka's eyes began to water before she swallowed, igniting her lightsabers and stepping up beside him. "We'll fight together."

Damian nodded just as Ezra stepped back into the temple, only for Ahsoka to shove him back out of it. As she did, Vader slashed downward at her, Damian's lightsaber blocking his. Damian shoved him away and pursued him, their lightsabers clashing rapidly as they fought. And then Ahsoka was there, the two of them pressing Vader back hard. Damian sent a Force blast through his lightsaber, blasting Vader away, and Vader crashed into the obelisk, crashing to the ground, only to begin pushing himself up again instantly. Damian sprinted forward and leapt into the air, moving to slash downward at Vader, but Vader raised a hand, catching Damian with the Force, beginning to close his hand into a fist, Damian's windpipe suddenly sealed. Damian's eyes widened and he looked down as Vader used the same technique Damian had just hit him with to hurl Ahsoka away. Damian raised a hand and his fallen lightsaber activated behind Vader, spinning through the air at him, only for Vader to deflect it. Damian grabbed his blaster and fired.

Vader tried to block it, but the blast punched through his lightsaber blade and into his right shoulder. Vader shouted in pain, staggering backward into the Obelisk just as the energy inside of it spiked, a bolt of pink lightning-like energy blasting into Vader and hurling him. Damian pulled his lightsaber back to himself and turned, firing at Vader again, but Vader was careful now, dodging around the blasts and closing rapidly. Just as Vader slashed at Damian, Ahsoka stepped between them, crossing her lightsabers and blocking his, grunting in effort. Damian holstered his blaster and ignited his lightsaber blades again, flipping over both of them and slashing at Vader's back, only for him to leap high into the air, the blade deactivating before it reached Ahsoka, then reactivating after her. Damian landed on his feet, only to suddenly find himself airborne. He crashed into the obelisk and a blast of energy exploded into him, launching him away from it. He landed hard, groaning and pushing himself up, seeing Vader slash at Ahsoka, whose lightsabers were both off to the opposite side from one of Vader's blows, but then Damian blinked and Ahsoka was gone, Vader's blade hitting nothing but air.

Damian stared in shock, then pushed himself up and ignited his blades again as Vader turned to him. However, before either could attack again, the obelisk suddenly shone blindingly. Damian turned to it, then sighed, deactivating his lightsaber and sliding it back into its makeshift holder. This was it. He was going to die in a big pink explosion. He was a little disappointed it couldn't at least be a better color.

"Block it!" a feminine voice all but screamed in his head.

Damian's arm snapped up almost on instinct just as the massive wall of energy reach him, bending around him as he roared in effort, shoving with the Force while also struggling to disperse so much energy at once. "Who are you?"

He didn't receive an answer, and he hadn't recognized the voice. However, that knowledge slipped through his mind in the briefest of flashes as the explosion intensified, and he began to lose the struggle against it. Then, a blinding light filled his eyes, exhaustion flooded his body all at once, and then there was only darkness and cold.
