Chapter Forty Seven

Jaime had always liked school, not because of anything educational but for the social aspect it offered. It was in middle school that she had ascended to the top of the food chain and gained unrivaled popularity, ever since then school had been one of her favourite places. In California she had been nothing short of a queen, Hawkins High wasn't much different except for the people she was queen of. They were all so intensely dull, even Carol to a certain extent, and Jaime found that despite how awful being at home was school was slowly becoming equally unbearable.

Home Economics was by far her least favourite class, and for the past hour had been Jaime's very own hell on earth. It was the only class that she and Billy didn't share, and Jaime really had no desire to be anything like her own mom or Mrs Wheeler. Who the hell wanted to be some unremarkable house wife who was slowly getting older and fatter? Oh no, Jaime was made for bigger and better things so sewing and cooking was pretty far down her list of priorities.

"Me and Tommy are going to his at lunch, want to come?" Carol asked as she pushed a needle through the cheap material the school provided.

"I'd rather spend time with Nancy Drew than listen to you and Tommy bone." By no means was Jaime a prude but that didn't mean she needed to hear the ridiculous noises Tommy made while she sat on the couch twiddling her thumbs.

"Why don't you bring Steve?"

The teasing tone to Carol's voice made a smile curve across Jaime lips. "Steve Harrington? Gag me with a spoon." She and Steve might have been on good terms, friends even, that did not mean that Jaime wanted to take him to Tommy's.

Beside her Carol burst into a fit of laughter that filled the quiet classroom and had their teacher scowling.

"Come on, Jaime. You haven't been on a single date since you started and it's not like you don't have guys lining around the block for you. So ask one of them."

Everything Carol said was true, Jaime hadn't been on a single date but not for the reason that nearly all of Hawkins High thought. As far as everyone was aware the reason she rejected dates, or didn't get asked all together, was because of her protective brother Billy who would kill anyone who touched his sister. They were half right. Jaime was under no illusion that Billy wouldn't break the legs of any guy who came near her, he'd been doing it since they'd met, what Carol and everyone else didn't know was that since they had started hooking up Jaime had no desire to go on a date with someone else.

"Or bring Billy?"

There was almost a challenging edge to Carol's voice that made Jaime's spine lengthen, it was a test. Ever since the winter formal Carol had been dropping poorly disguised hints that she knew about her and Billy's relationship, everytime Jaime had ignored them entirely but this one was far too brazen for that. Turning slowly to face Carol, Jaime smiled cruelly at her, eyes sparkling with spite. "It would be a shame if you spent your last few months alone or with the stoners because of saying dumb shit, wouldn't it?"

Jaime had the power, and the will, to destroy the lives of any of the Hawkins High students if she chose to, and lord knew she enjoyed doing it. So far Carol had been toeing the line and stayed safetly at the top of the pyramid by Jaime's side, that being said she had no problem kicking Carol right to the bottom.

"I didn't mean anything-"

"Of course you didn't." Jaime interupted with a smile. "That's why I'm going to act like you didn't say it. For now."

Had Carol been a dog her tail would have been firmly tucked between her legs, the small hanging of her head was an obvious show of submission and regret, that was more like it.

The shrill ring of the school bell signalled the end of class and with it the end of Carol and Jaime's discussion. Not bothering to put her sewing with everyone elses Jaime snatched up her bag and strutted towards the classroom door without bothering to look in Carol's directions as she said her goodbye. "The mall opens this weekend, Billy will drive us." Behind her Jaime could hear that Carol was saying something in responce but she had no desire to hear it, she had much more important things to be doing with her time.

At the opposite end of the corridor, through the expanding sea of students clamouring out of their classes to go to lunch, Jaime could see the broad, leather clad frame that could only have belonged to Billy. He was becoming a beacon and no matter how hard she tried to deny it Jaime found that she searched for him where ever she was. At first she had been so shocked and repulsed by her dependency on Billy that she had avoided him for a day, which had been a task in itself. Then the answer leapt out at her; it was nearly summer, heat was beginning to cling in the air and everyone seemed to be in better spirits, so it was just that dizzy summer feeling consuming her, not some deeper feelings for Billy.

As she weaved closer to Billy Jaime couldn't help but drink in the mere sight of him. Why was he so damn perfect? Worse yet he knew he was, and the flocks of girls that constantly followed him only solidified it. At least in California there had been guys to give Billy a run for his money, in Hawkins the only real contender was Steve and even that was a stretch. Thankfully the lack of competition extended to Jaime aswell, there wasn't a girl in Hawkins that was a threat.

"Mayfield," Billy called out when his eyes locked with Jamie's as she reached where he was stood. "Jennifer said she could help me with that english paper."

Jennifer was welcome to think she was getting Billy alone all she wanted because it would only happen if Jaime allowed it, and she did not. "She's going to write an entire paper? As if, she can barely write her own name." Jaime scoffed without looking at Jennifer. "Lets go, Hargrove."

With the flick of her hair Jaime was back walking down the corridors of Hawkins High done with entertaining the idiotic ideas of Billy's ever growing fan club. Didn't they realise how desperate they looked? He hadn't taken a single girl out since they had started fooling around, it was totally shocking that none of them had gotten the message that he wasn't interested.

"Your weak attempts at making me jealous are pathetic." Jaime said with the roll of her eyes, not needing to check behind her to see if Billy was following. He always followed. What she hadn't anticipated was the sharp tug to her right arm that had her falling through the nearest classroom door. "What is your damage, Hargrove?" Jaime spat once she had regained her footing.

"You are so jealous, Mayfield, but I'm the pathetic one?" Laughed Billy, eyebrow quirking in challenge.

"I would die before I was jealous of Jennifer Seymour." Jaime fumed, stomping towards where Billy was casually propped against a table.

"Have I struck a nerve?"

A smug grin was curved across Billy's face infuriating Jaime further. Who the hell did he think he was? "We're done here, Hargrove. Go chase after Jennifer, she's more your league."

Shoving past Billy's solid form on her way to the door Jaime counted began to count to ten in her head not wanting an explosive argument at school to be what led to people finding out about them. Billy however seemed to have other ideas because his hand gripped her wrist tightly before she was within reach of the door. "Don't touch me."

"You sure that's what you want?"

The self assured tone that Billy spoke with was like fuel to a fire, and had Jaime been anywhere but school she would have slapped it clean out of him. Instead though she found the anger quickly turning into something else, and her eyes flicked over to the door to check that no one was slyly watching them.

Picking up on the obvious mood change Billy wasted no time grabbing Jaime by the waist and crashing his lips down on hers. She kissed him back furiously, her arms wrapping around his neck as he lifted her onto the desk he had been leant on. His hands were all over her and Jaime couldn't have been happier, her own hands made quick work of the buttons on his shirt so her fingers could touch the warm skin beneath it.

"Admit it, Mayfield." Billy breathed after giving Jaime one last fierce kiss. "Admit you're jealous."

It was a little game that had started not long after they had started fooling around, and so far Jaime had been winning at it spectacularly, Billy was just too easy to make jealous but now it was her turn. She didn't accept that, oh no, Jaime Mayfield would never admit outloud that he had made her a little jealous, what she needed was to regain some of the upper hand. Trailing her hands down the hard, unmissable muscles of Billy's stomach she teased the skin just above his belt. A low growl rumbled out of Billy that had Jaime smirking, and his hands reaching under her skirt and pulling at her panties so roughly they tore.

"Admit it."

"Never." Jaime smirked as her hands worked at expert speed at the buckle of Billy's belt. Once she had it undone Jaime quickly turned her attention to his zipper, and shoved both Billy's jeans and boxers off of his hips. A shot of excitement ran down the length of Jaime's spine when she felt Billy position himself at her entrance, this was by far the most reckless they had been but it only made it hotter, although she still found that her eyes quicky stole a glance at the door to be safe. Then with an impatient thrust Billy was inside her for the second time that day. The both moaned as they moved frantically against each other, Billy's thrusts getting harder and faster each time as he gripped Jaime's hips tightly.

"Fuck." Jaime gasped when Billy thrust particularly deep, hitting her g-spot and bringing her orgasm that much closer. "Don't stop." It came out more pleading than she wanted but Jaime couldn't have cared less, it just felt too good.

Rising to the occasion Billy gave Jaime's chest a rough shove, laying her back on the surface of the desk before he gripped her thighs and plunged into her at a different angle, working himself deeper.

"Fuck." Jaime gasped again, her eyes flying open when Billy hit her g-spot once more. "Fuck!" Through the thick fog of arousal she could just make out the shadow of someone through the frosted glass of the classroom door. Who even hung out in class at lunch? There was no time to debate what kind of loser stuck around during lunch break because the shadow was growing closer. "Billy fucking stop, someones going to come in!"

Grasping hold of Billy's jaw Jaime forced him to look at the door, and quicker than she even new possible he was off of her, his clothes were being righted and his hand was tugging her to her feet.

"Oh, sorry I didn't think anyone was in here." Nancy said, awkwardly smiling at Jaime and Billy as she moved quickly across the classroom before heading straight back to the door and dashing back through it.

It all happened so quickly that Jaime was barely able to process what had happened. There was no way Nancy hadn't put two and two together, even she wasn't that naive, would she tell someone? Would she use it to gain some kind of power over her?

"Let's go, Mayfield." Billy instructed, interupting all the scenario's buzzing around Jaime's head. "I'm not letting Wheeler leave me with blue balls."

A white hot pain in her skull was the first thing Jaime noticed when she peeled her eyes open. In fact it was the only thing she was sure of through the haze that was clouding her mind, where even was she? The last thing she remembered was going home, going home and finding Billy alone. Billy.

Ignoring the pulsing ache in her temples Jaime blinked rapidly to clear the blurrying from her vision, until she was able to make out the glowing bright lights of Starcourt Mall in the distance. Why the hell was she at the mall? Confusion quickly turned to panic when the realisation that she had no idea how she had gotten there, or how long she had been there dawned on Jaime, and she all but vomitted when she tried to move her arms only to find that she was unable to do just that.

"Billy?" She croaked, fighting against the restrainsts that were tied tightly around her wrists. "Billy, untie me. I can help you."A blinding flash of pain shot through Jaime's skull as she whipped her head around to get a better feel for her surroundings, not entirely sure that Billy was even still with her.

He was there. The more Jaime saw though the less sense she could make of what was going on, and the more her head hurt as thousands of questions filtered through it at once. Why was she in Billy's car? Why were they at the mall? And most importantly, what was he going to do to her?

The revving of the Camaro's engine broke Jaime's thoughts and brought her attention to the person driving the car, Billy. He looked awful, the worst she had ever seen him, and it had a lump forming in her throat. Again the car's engine ripped through the quiet parking lot and with it Jaime's adrenaline. No, no she would not lay down and accept that this was the end for Billy. She would fight for him, or she would die trying.
