Gilligan, Orchid, and the others got up as soon as the sun had risen. Mounting their horses, they hastily rode for the capital.
"Listen up, lads," Gilligan called back, "The moment we reach the capital, we are to first return to the Royal Family. If any harm befalls them, the Grand Knights will be no more." He declared with a serious expression.
"Yes sir!" All except Orchid chanted in unison.
In no time, the group had made their way back into the capital. No time was delayed making it to the castle and as they dismounted their horses, the warriors all rushed to the throne room. With a loud bang, the doors swung open and Gilligan was relieved to see His Majesties sitting comfortably upon their royal seats.
"Gilligan. Whatever is the matter?" Asked King Maverick. Both he and the queen looked to him with a worried expression.
"Forgive me, Your Majesty. We failed to stop the Demon from entering our own capital." Gilligan explained.
"Then let us waste no time. Tell me of their strength." The King ordered, becoming very serious.
"Carder and Seravis were paired up and they were the first to encounter them."
"Then tell me, boys: What were they like?"
Carder stepped forward. "They toyed with us. We didn't have the right Skills to take him on, and when he found that out," Carder clenched his fists tightly, "he made a mockery of us."
Seravis stepped forward and dropped to one knee. "They challenged us to a Duel, one which the loser had to yield to the victor. Seeing a chance to be rid of them, we accepted their challenge, but we were severely out-matched. As it turns out, they are indeed a Master Duelist."
After Seravis disclosed this information, the King stood up quickly. "A Master Duelist? You're certain?" He questioned. The warrior nodded firmly. "And you let them into our home?!" He roared. The warriors, even Orchid, lowered their heads at his anger. Salencia placed her feathered wing against Maverick, calming him down. "Ahem. Forgive me." He apologized as he sat himself back down.
"Please, Your Majesty. We failed you. We do not deserve such words." Gilligan bowed so hard it looked as though he would fall through the floor.
"When did they break through your forces?" Maverick questioned.
Carder spoke up. "He defeated us quickly enough to avoid an encounter with the rest of our group. After that, we were forced to remain at the mountain base: Many dragons had suddenly appeared and prevented us from leaving. We had no choice but to camp for the night." He explained with a hint of rage when he mentioned the dragons.
"The dragons attack you? For that long?" Maverick was baffled.
"Yes, Your Majesty. The challenge of the Duel permitted the victor to be unhindered by the loser. The Demon Draegor requested that he not be interrupted from entering the capital." Gilligan added on.
King Maverick sat in thought for a moment. He looked to his wife, then to his daughter who was fluttering about the throne room. He then returned his gaze back to his men. "There has been no reports of any unusual activity that has happened within our walls. It is possible that they are hiding out, waiting for the next moment to strike." Maverick suggested. "There is also the smaller chance that they are running from the Light Country and have sought refuge here."
"A Master Duelist tends to do things their own way and will do whatever, whenever." Salencia spoke up. "I would like to avoid as much conflict as possible that takes place within our country, if it can be helped. Your mission is to find this Demon who calls themself Draegor and see if they would be willing to listen. If they refuse, then you are to bring them to us. If it comes to it, we will bring them down ourselves." The Queen's voice was strong and firm. No one dared object.
Just then, one of the guards came rushing in. "Your Majesty!" They cried.
"What is it?" Maverick questioned firmly.
"Word has reached the castle: A Duel between two Master Duelists took place in the southern parts of the capital. Both of them fought using Dragon-Type Monsters, but one of them wielded Dragons of incredible power." The guard exclaimed.
"Dragon Duelists?" Salencia looked on worried.
"Do we have any info on the descriptions of the two Duelists?" Maverick spoke up.
"Yes. One of them was the Dragon Duelist, Joshua. Owner of the 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon'. The other was a masked man who called themselves Draegor. He summoned a Dragon that was more powerful than Joshua's: The 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon'. People are claiming this Draegor to be of a different class of Duelist altogether."
Needing only to glance at Gilligan, King Maverick ordered his men to find the masked man at once.
