Inuyasha's POV

I looked into the forest and frowned. Something was happening. Something that would change my life forever but I couldn't quite figure out what it was.

"Inuyasha?"

I looked over at Muroku. "What do you want?"

He shrugged. "You seem distant Inuyasha are you alright?"

I shook my head and glared at him. "Of course I'm alright! I just can't stand sitting around here doing nothing but waiting for Sesshomaru and Kagome to come back." I looked back at the forest. Something was wrong.

Kagome's POV

I shook my head. "Can't you keep it? I can't just let you die Kikyo."

She smiled and shook her head. "I cannot, even now this spark is trying to return to you. Kagome, You must protect it or you will never find the last shards and purify the jewel."

I felt my eyes burning with unshed tears. "Kikyo, ther-"

She glared at me and cut me off. "This is how it has to be now!" She held out her hand and the spark flew towards me. "Do not accept it Kagome or this worlds future will be destroyed."

I held my hand out as the spark landed in my palm. "The future?" My mind stumbled as memories and the faces of everyone I loved raced through it. I looked down at my hand and clutched the spark in my hand as tears finally streamed down my cheeks. "I won't let that monster win." I looked back up at her, her body had begun softly glowing. "I promise."

She nodded at me. "Tell Inuyasha to stop looking for me." She smiled softly as her body began to glow brighter. "Tell him I've finally found my peace." I had to close my eyes against her bright glow. When I opened them again she was gone, the only thing left were her soul collectors who just stared over at me as if waiting for a command.

I looked up at the sky, surprised that night had fallen already and wiped my tears from my cheek. "I will tell him." One of the stars seemed to shine brighter as if hearing my promise.

Sesshomaru's POV

I stared at the caves entrance impatiently. Where was she? Was she hurt? Had she gotten lost? I growled had Naraku finally shown up and taken her? I stood up quickly and raced out of the cave, I had to find her. I froze just outside the cave and sniffed the air, she was close. I leaned against the cave entrance and tried to relax my body as I stared out into the trees waiting for her.
