Kurama, Asuma and Kurenai wore cloaks as the approached the prison that Mizuki was being held at, however, something felt off. The prison was quiet, too quiet for any good to come of it, they stopped nearby when Asuma gave the signal to stop "Kurenai, Kurama can you guys sense anything?". Kurama focused his senses and tried to search for any abnormalities within the prison.
"There aren't any guards to be seen," he says as his eyes narrowed, Kurenai also noticed the absence of guards but yet is seemed that the prison was okay and running itself. "Kurama's right Asuma there isn't a guard to be seen, this is definitely a trap", Asuma then pondered the possibilities and came to a conclusion, "You think this is Mizuki's handiwork? Kurama, can you sense his presence within the prison?".
Kurama got to work on that, his eyes combing through the various chakra signatures in the prison until he spotted it. That deceitful and familiar chakra that he had sensed all those years ago, he nodded "oh yeah...he's in there alright but if you ask me, it is most undoubtedly a trap". Asuma and Kurama acknowledged this as they approached it with caution entering the prison through the main entrance as they made their way to the main hall and when they showed themselves everyone just stopped and stared.
Kurama cleared his throat and announced "Where is Mizuki of Konoha?! We're here for-" before Kurma could finish he heard slow clapping as the rest of the inmates moved away as though in respect and there he was...Mizuki. He hadn't changed much but that only angered Kurama to have to look upon the man who nearly broke his brother all those years ago.
"Well...well...well" Mizuki chuckled as he clapped slowly as Kurama balled his fists and grit his teeth as he frowned angrily "Look at you Kurama all grown up...or should i call you- Kyuubi?".
Asuma, seeing his student in distress stepped in and frowned "That's enough out of you Mizuki. Kurama has become a fine hidden leaf shinobi and a hero amongst many. He's no monster, he's my student and a shinobi of Konoha!". Kurama was taken aback as he wasn't used to such praise but Mizuki laughed as he grinned "That's now what i heard...the people have taken to slandering you haven't they? Ever since your little...secret got out?"
Kurenai started to see the inmates staring at them as they began to assume offensive stances, she then glared at Mizuki "Bastard...this is a trap". Mizuki moved towards the shadows as the thugs began to surround the Konoha team "Get them!" Mizuki ordered as the sidewall was blasted open and he made a dash for it! Asuma turned to Kurama and exclaimed "You go after Mizuki! We'll handle these convicts!". Kurama nodded as he dashed through the hole in the wall, Two bandits tried to get in way but Asuma and Kurenai threw them aside as Kurama chased after Mizuki
Kurama was touched by Asuma and Kurenai's actions and words...they were like family to him. He was determined not to let anything happen to them not now and certainly not EVER, his eyes filled with determination as he rushed forward on the tree branches chasing after Mizuki to finish what was started all those nights ago! Today he was going to kill Mizuki.
Kurama spots him going into a cave and follows him into it as he sees Mizuki with his back turned. Kurama stood at the entrance with caution as he growled "Times up Traitor", Mizuki turned around and laughed "You know, I suppose we're both similar to one another in a way". Kurama made a show of disgust as he spits on the ground "Same...how?!"
Then Mizuki starts to transforms and Kurama's eyes widen...'oh...so that's what he meant'. Mizuki was now a Man-Tiger as a result of what seemed to be a curse mark of sorts as Kurama sighed "Fine..." he closed his eyes as he transformed as well, orange fur replace peach flesh as 9 majestic tails appeared from behind as he took a fighting stance with his Kunai
"How ironic, to think all those years ago I accused the wrong person of being the Kyuubi. Naruto was just a fool, but you...you were standing right in front of me but I never knew...now then...LET'S END THIS! KYUUBBI!" Mizuki shouted as he dashed forward at tremendous speeds! Kurama had barely managed to dodge as he steps sides and kicks Mizuki on the side as his eyes narrow dangerously 'he's faster than before... I've got to be careful'.
Mizuki stops himself from falling by doing a backflip, using his hands to redirect himself. Mizuki then gets a scroll from behind a rock and unseals it, getting a giant shuriken and throwing it, Kurama dodges it and to Mizuki's surprise, he uses his tail to catch it by the circular opening and threw it back with tremendous force and speed which caught him right on the chest and threw him backward as he slammed against a tree, the curse mark reverted and that meant one thing...
Kurama moved forward to meet the defeated Mizuki and knelt before him, looking him in the eye "You know Mizuki, it didn't have to come to this...you forced our hand when you decided to betray us"
Mizuki laughs with blood spluttering out "Betray...oh no. The village betrayed us by letting you live! I had everything once...a f-family and everything else a man could want...". He then looks at Kurama, his eyes burning "But no..you took everything from me...and i hate you for all you-re...woorrth" and with that, Mizuki had died. Kurama looked into the mans eyes one last time as he closed them "I'm sorry"
