Chapter 70: The Targeted Bride
At the Wilson Mansion...
Serena was having breakfast with Valen and Adyson while Charlotte was looking for something in the fridge.
"Shoot!"Charlotte scowled angrily and slammed the door fridge hard causing Valen, Serena and Adyson to wince. "I have to go! I'll see you all later!"
The red haired woman rushed past her family and opened the door to head outside before closing it.
"Mum has been recently having mood swings."Adyson whispered with an unapproved look.
"I could see that."Serena said quietly. "She must be having work stress."
"That could be it."Adyson agreed.
The orange haired girl used her small sticks to pick and eat a grilled fish in her small bowl of rice.
"So Adyson what was it you were going to say?"Valen asked as he took a sip from his coffee cup.
"Yes, I want you to help me with my homework."Adyson remarked. "I've decided to make the legendary crown of Belladonna for my art class."
"The crown of Belladonna?"Serena said.
"It's connected to the creepy mountains in Mewni that was once a peaceful kingdom."Adyson commented.
"Really?"Serena said in curiosity. "I've heard of Avalon, Varanas and Zandorya, but not the Mountain Kingdom."
"Allow me to tell you the story linked to it."Valen complemented. "The Mountain Beast was once a nobleman, the last King of the Mountain Kingdom. Before his curse, his daughter, Belladonna, gave the Mountain King a magical crown. He gladly donned the gift, not knowing it was created from the shard of the evil False Mirror. The False Mirror spellbound the King and in turn reflected the worst in him, a temper like a volcano. As the months went by, the Mountain King could feel the anger boiling up inside, until one day it consumed him, turning him into a hulking beast. The King's council blamed his daughter, Belladonna and arranged her execution. Blinded by dark magic and the love for his daughter, he turned his rage on the council, killing most of them. The inhabitants of the kingdom soon fled in fear of the monstrous king. The Mountain Beast, as he is now known, will forever be by his daughter's side. Although he hasn't shed blood in centuries, if his daughter is ever in danger, the beast will strike swiftly and mercilessly."
"Wow."Serena admitted with a startled look. "That is a very dark tale."
Adyson giggled and clapped lightly.
"I'll definitely get an 'A' for doing that crown."Adyson said.
"What if we decorated it with black spinels so it looks more effective?"Serena suggested.
"That's a great idea, Serena."Adyson chuckled.
Valen and Serena began to help Adyson create the crown using a wire to make it into a shape of the crown before painting it silver and carefully placing small black spinels to decorate it.
Not long after, the crown was perfectly done.
"There."Serena chuckled. "Look Adyson, it's done."
"What do you think?"Valen asked.
Valen and Serena notice Adyson was tearing up.
"Aw Addie, what's wrong?"Serena asked.
"I'm just so glad, you know...that we could all be together like this..."Adyson cried covering her eyes.
Valen and Serena hugged Adyson to comfort her.
At the Meeting Hall for Weddings and Parties...
There were guests chatting with each other and married couples dressed up as grooms and brides.
Valen wore a black tuxedo suit with silver grey shoes.
Serena wore a pastel emerald button-up with a white frilly collar and ruffled, pale mint sleeve cuffs to match her skirt. Around the cuff was an emerald ribbon to match that on her waist, along with emerald heels that have a thick band on the foot and white tights.
Adyson wore a pale yellow turtleneck beneath a brown blouse with a slightly puffy yellow knee-length skirt and a pair of brown pink shoes worn with pale yellow socks.
"Okay, be careful."Valen instructed. "Try not to drop the equipment."
"Using magic would've been helpful, but okay."Serena muttered sarcastically holding the big box of cameras.
Charlotte was dressed up in a fancy orange dress and were with other photographers before noticing her family.
"What are you three doing here?"Charlotte asked in surprise.
"Can a husband come to see his working wife with their children?"Valen teased.
Charlotte huffed and blushed.
"Of course, you have to be the protective type."Charlotte scoffed.
"Mummy, we brought you, flowers."Adyson said with a shy smile and held out a flower bouquet. "Casa blanca lilies, your favourites."
"And cameras to take pictures for the couples."Serena added.
"Oh my gosh, I'm a photographer and I forgot to bring cameras for my crew."Charlotte panicked.
Valen, Adyson and Serena laughed lightly at Charlotte's mistake.
Outside...
"I sense love energy, how revolting."
A hooded figure flew above the building before putting her hands to form a black smokey ball that floated inside the building.
"This should spice things up."the hooded figure chuckled smugly.
Inside the Meeting Hall for Weddings and Parties...
There was guests arriving inside the building for Artix and Rita's wedding party.
Artix wore a navy blue tuxedo with a white rose on it and black shoes.
Rita Somerset wore a light blue with long sleeves, puffy shoulders, pink ribbons and a white blue choker. She wore a small hat with two lily flowers on each side on her creamy blonde hair and a veil attached to the hat and wore white high heels beneath.
"The new groom Artix Wilson has been quite a popular gentleman and his bride, Rita Somerset, is very affectionate and has a kind personality."Lazlo explained holding a microphone. "The thing that started off their love for each other is..."
"The bride is so beautiful."Serena whispered.
"And Uncle Artix is handsome in that tuxedo."Adyson giggled.
A slideshow shows Artix and Rita as kids and growing up, bond to meet with each other with the audience praising them.
"Even though they were born in different places and times, it seems Artix and Rita were always bound together by a red thread."Lazlo commented. "With today as the starting point, we hope that they will be able to walk through the rest of their lives together in eternal happiness, never leaving one another. Ladies and gentlemen, let's give another round of applause for the happy couple!"
Valen, Serena and Adyson clapped at Artix and Rita along with the other guests.
Charlotte and the photographers took pictures of Artix and Rita.
"It's so wonderful."A man complemented.
"I am so moved."An old woman sobbed.
While the guests praises at Artix and Rita, the black smokey ball went into Rita causing her loving expression to become a hateful one while her hazel green eyes flashed black for a moment.
"My fiancé is nothing but a selfish pathetic piece of trash!"Rita scoffed pointing at Artix. "Not to mention his utterly rude!"
"Rita, honey, what has gone into you?"Artix asked worriedly. "We are in love with each other."
Rita slapped Artix's hand away.
"Don't you dare touch me!"Rita scowled. "I'm not marrying a fool like you!"
The guests grew shocked of what Rita just said.
"Rita!"
"What has gone into her?"
Lazlo narrowed his eyes, remembering something like this happened before.
"It is a lie to say you love somebody!"Rita snapped angrily. "In this world everyone, the most important is yourself! I am going to destroy the love of all couples here!"
Black mist began to rise around the room causing everyone to cough and drop down.
Serena notice Adyson was falling to unconsciousness causing her to cast a protective shield to protect her little sister.
The orange haired girl closed her eyes, sensing a dark presence in Rita's body.
"A shadow spirit has possessed her."Serena said with a startled look.
'Rita' opened the doors to head to the outside garden, where there were other married couples talking with each other.
"Separate immediately!"Rita ordered. "Love is just a silly thing!"
A dark purple energy went towards a married couple causing them to hate at each other.
"Who are you?!"the pale blonde haired groom scoffed. "You are so ugly! That wedding dress doesn't even suite you!"
"What?!"the cyan haired bride growled. "Your tuxedo is the worst! So out dated!"
"Rita, stop it!"Serena protested. "Your hurting everybody!"
"On this beautiful day, where green shines so brightly and the sky is so blue!"Adyson snapped. "You come and interrupt the sacred ceremonies that are joining these couples in love! We'll punish you for this!"
"Rotten brats!"Rita growled. "Love is nothing!"
'Rita' threw dark magic flames at Serena and Adyson causing them to jump out the way.
"Love is something far more incredible than you can imagine!"Adyson stated bitterly.
Adyson took out a small harp from her backpack.
The small harp was in a heart-shaped style which had a red stick in the center of it; splitting the heart into half. Attached to the bottom of the stick was a large red and white coloured feather with a four leaved clover engraved onto it. In between the larger half of the heart, there are four strings that turn red, orange, yellow and green during the attack. At the top of the stick, there's a white heart-shaped jewel with a red trim with two feathers attached to either side of the jewel.
"Passion Harmony!"Adyson chanted.
Adyson began to beautifully play the harp making pink music notes come out causing 'Rita' to cover her ears in pain.
"Stop that annoying sound!"Rita shouted. "Love is weak! Weak!"
"Serena, your turn!"Adyson called out.
Serena nodded and held out her cane causing a glowing yellow heart appear above it.
"Rolling Heart Vibration!"Serena chanted.
Serena threw the heart with her cane and it circled around her before multiplying into several hearts, then back into one glowing heart that hit 'Rita' in an explosion of yellow light.
Rita's bad expression vanished causing a roaring black shadow figure to disappear in the pure light.
Then all the angered couples go back to normal as they were before.
Serena and Adyson high fived in victory.
Rita regained her senses and Artix comes out to find her and the two of them embrace.
Serena and Adyson went back inside the building, seeing Lazlo, Valen, Charlotte and everyone else were alright.
Adyson sighed. "Looks like everything is back to normal."
"Thank goodness."Serena stated.
A thought came to Serena's mind.
"Eclipsa couldn't be responsible for this."Serena thought with a troubled look. "Who could possible use dark magic to harm others?"
The hooded figure scowled at the two half-sisters from above before disappearing in a small dark portal.
Later that Night...
Serena and the Wilson family went back to the mansion.
"Man, what a wedding."Serena mumbled. "I will have a trouble explaining to Star and Marco why I skipped going to the lava lake beach with them."
"At least you took part of a family wedding and trying out the cake."Adyson complemented.
"Except a dark spirit has showed up and possessed the bride which almost ruined everything."Serena reminded with her arms folded.
Valen placed a sleeping Charlotte on her bed.
"Why does mum like to work so much?"Adyson asked. "Working for a photo company can't be her dream, right?"
"Your mum doesn't like to work, but she likes to do her best."Valen commented. "There are lots of things that are painful and ugly, but the satisfying feeling that you get at the end of the day that is what's important to your mum. Although going to work isn't much of a dream, she's still living according to her ideals. Sometimes dreams can be fulfilled that way."
"Living according to your ideals as a dream?"Adyson said in surprise.
"Everyone has a different opinion."Valen admitted. "But that's what I love about your mum. I respect and feel proud of her. She's a very outstanding person."
Serena and Adyson smiled at Valen.
In a Dream...
There was a dark wasteland with a blood red sky and shadow beasts were howling as their eyes glowed red.
A hidden figure chuckled evilly as her eyes flashed sinister red.
In Valen's Room...
Serena and Valen woke up from their slumber causing them to look at each other while Adyson was fast asleep between them.
"What was that?"Serena said in fear. "We had the same dream didn't we, dad?"
"Yeah."Valen responded with a small frown. "The darkness that will end the universe."
"What do you think that means?"Serena asked quietly.
"I don't know."Valen answered firmly. "But we better keep our eyes open and be careful of who we trust. I have a feeling something big is going to happen."
Serena nodded her father without giving a respond.
Somewhere...
Kevin went up to a large grand gold decorative mirror.
Then the hooded figure from the wedding incident appeared in the mirror.
"Did you show them the dream?"the hooded figure questioned. "What are you trying to do?"
"The exact opposite of what you are doing."Kevin replied with a glare.
"Then I guess we are enemies now."the hooded figure scowled.
Then the mirror cracked, ending the conversation between the duo.
"So be it."Kevin answered bitterly as he walked away.
