"If I may object, Commander, we were ordered personally by the Professor to deal with the La-"Gloria interjects, explaining. "Silence!" Edo tells her. The Tyler sisters were annoyed by the dismissal "Hey! Hold on a second! Yuzu's Entertainment Duelling won't be exciting unless she Duels us!" Grace protest. "Yuzu?" Edo repeats, and he looks down to see Yuzu, Sayaka, Allen, Shingo and Gongenzaka crowded around Shun's unconscious body. "I see…" he mused. "Yuzu Hiragi…?" Edo repeats. "Hey! Are you even listening?! Commander-in-Chief Edo!" Grace angrily asks. "Hey you! Quit your constant badgering!" Mamoru tells her. He then turns to Edo "For the Commander-in-Chief to deal with these measly Lancers personally…Don't you think that's a bit excessive?" Mamoru suggested to Edo. Edo shoots him a look "No-! I mean you don't need to dirty you hands, Commander, just let us handle this! Please leave it to me; I will capture the Lancers myself…" Mamoru protest. "I will be talking to you later" Edo warns Mamoru , and Mamoru freezes up. "I don't need you assistance" Edo declares. "Just stand there and watch" He tells Mamoru , before activating his Duel Disk. Mamoru scowls "He must have found out that I requested the Professor to send Duellist to deal with the Lancers…" He mused.
"Kurosaki! Kurosaki!" Yuzu tries to wake Shun, but it's no use. Shingo looks at the squad of Academia students "Hey! Isn't this bad?" He protests. "For now we need to take him back to base!" Allen states. "Hurry up and get him on my back!" Yuzu tells them, but a chain suddenly snares her wrist and transforms into a red strand, activating her Duel Disk "Field Spell: Crossover" The Duel Disk declares. Edo yanks the other end, attached to his Duel Disk, and he drags a screaming Yuzu away from the Lancers and the Resistance. Yuzu right herself and she runs to the building the Edo was standing on and leaps up the materialized platforms of Crossover to face Edo. "What are you doing?!" Yuzu angrily asked, and a steel mesh cage rises up from the ground and surrounds her and Edo. "This is-" Yuzu gasped. "I activated the Field Spell: Steel Cage Match. This way, no one will interfere with our Duel" Edo explains. "I am Academia's Commander-in-Chief of the Xyz Dimension Expedition, Edo Phoenix" He introduce himself. Yuzu Hiragi, today is the day we settle this!" Edo tells her. "Wait! I have no intentions to take part in this Duel!" Yuzu protest. "It's no use, Yuzu" Ruri tells her. "Ruri…" Yuzu whispers. "Academia's soldiers are heartless monsters who will Duel the injured! If you want to save Shun, you have to defeat Edo in this Duel!" Ruri tells Yuzu. Off the side "You understand what to do right?" Mamoru instructed. "Yes sir! We will begin our search now" A student replies. "Hey! Isn't Yuzu in trouble?" Shingo gasped. The Academia students close in and activate their Duel Disks. "I won't let Edo take all the glory" Mamoru smugly thinks to himself. "Guys!" Yuzu calls out to them. "Looks like we're in even more trouble!" Shingo mutters. Kaito steps in between the Lancers and Academia students "Kaito!" Gongenaka calls out. "Leave this to me" Kaito tells the Lancers. "Yuzu! I'll take care of the fodder!" He tells her. "Kaito…" Yuzu whisper, and nods in affirmation. "I accept this Duel! Bring it on, Edo Phoenix!" She said.
"DUEL!" Both Duellists yell. "I'll be going first!" Edo declares. "I Summon Destiny HERO - Decider from my hand!" He said (ATK: 1600). "I will prove it in this Duel...That Academia's Duelling and... The Professor's teachings are correct! For that, I must win against Yusho Sakaki's acquaintance!" Edo thinks as he looks at his torn piece of Smile World. "I end my turn" Edo states.
"I'll end this Duel in an instant! My turn!" Yuzu dealers and draws. "I, using the Scale 3 Chanson the Melodious Diva and the Scale 9 Dulcet the Melodious Diva, Set the Pendulum Scale!" Yuzu said. "With this, I'm able to simultaneously Summon monsters from Levels 4 to 8" She states. "Sway Pendulum of my Soul! Draw the arc of light across the aether! Pendulum Summon! Come forth my monsters! First off is, Lola the Melodious Diva! (ATK: 2000) and awaken the sleeping virtuoso, Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra!" Yuzu chants (ATK: 2600). "Oh? A Pendulum Summon right out of the gates?" Grace impressed. "Battle! I attack Destiny HERO – Decider with Lola the Melodious Diva!" Yuzu declares. Lola destroyed Decider with a flurry of musical notes (Edo's LP: 3600). "Next, I make a directly attack Edo with Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra! Graceful Wave!" Yuzu declares.
"I activate Destiny HERO – Dynatag's effect from my hand and send it to the Graveyard!" Edo declares. "When I have lower LP than my opponent, I can negate battle damage and deal both players 1000 damage!" He explains. "At the same time, I active Decider's effect!" Edo states. "On the turn it was sent to the Graveyard, if I take any effect damage, I can return it to my hand and negate the effect damage against me!" He declares. Yuzu was blasted into the air, restrained by the chain as she hits the ground hard (Yuzu's LP: 3000). "Oh? Edo's doing well too! But it wouldn't be interesting otherwise, though!" Grace comments. "That's enough already, Grace! Let's leave that to the Commander-in-Chief...We're going to take part in taking out the Lancers!" Gloria tells Grace. "Huh? Wait a second! This is going to start getting good!" Grace protest, much to her sister's frustration. Gloria observes Kaito's Duel; the students that he is facing all control copies of Ancient Gear Hunting Hound and Ancient Gear Soldier. Yuzu sees Kaito's plight "Kaito!" Yuzu calls out. "Yuzu! You need to focus on your Duel!" Ruri remind her. "Yeah, I know" Yuzu agrees, and she gets to her feet "I end my turn" Yuzu said.
"My turn, draw!" Edo declares. "I active the Spell Card: Polymerization from my hand, and I send Destiny HERO – Decider and Destiny HERO – Drilldark from my hand to my Graveyard to fuse them!" He said. "Hero resolved to claim a fated victory! And hero who drills through the stone of destiny! Become one now and reign over this dark future! Fusion Summon! Come on! Destiny HERO – Dystopia!" Edo chants (ATK: 2800). "Dystopia's effect! I deal damage to you equal to his Fusion Material, Decider's ATK! Squeeze Palm!" Edo declares. Yuzu was blasted into the air again and slammed down by her tether (Yuzu's LP: 1400). "I'm just getting started!" Edo states. "Come on, let's go, Grace!" Gloria urges Grace. "Wait! Just a bit longer!" Grace begs her sister. "I equip the Equip Spell: Delay Armor to Dystopia! And attack Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra! Dystopia Blow!" Edo declares, and Dystopia destroys Mozarta (Yuzu's LP: 1200). "And now I activate Delay Armor's effect!" Edo declares. "I destroy Lola whose Level is lower than Mozarta's and deal 500 damage to her controller!" He states (Yuzu's LP: 700). Yuzu shields herself from the backlash. "Yuzu Hiragi! I will defeat you! And prove that Yusho Sakaki's Duelling is wrong!" Edo vows.
"This is the final blow! I attack with my 5 Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragons! Cipher Stream of Eradication!" Kaito declares. The Galaxy-Eyes– one original and four monsters treated as copies of it – all attack with Cipher Stream of Eradication, wiping all of Kaito's opponents out. Yuzu turns in shock to the other Duel "Yuzu!" Allen calls out. "We're fine over here! Kaito took out all of them!" He reassures her. Galaxy-Eyes dissipate as the defeated students warp away via the forced return function of their Duel Disks. "Leave Kurosaki to us!" Gongenzaka tells Yuzu. "You should focus on your Duel!" Shingo agrees. Kaito hoists Shun onto his back "Yuzu!" He calls out to her, and then the two Duellists exchange smiles. "Our elite students squad was wiped out...by just one Duellist! This can't be!" Mamoru shock as he watches the Lancers and the Resistance walk away. "Even after taking command of so many troops, you continually mismanage them and let the Lancers escape!" Gloria accuses Mamoru . "I-I did not mismanage them! Commander-in-Chief Edo was the one who brought them here!" Mamoru protest. He laughs madly for a few seconds "This is bad! If Edo wins this Duel, then my position will be…! Gone!" Mamoru realizes. Grace turns back to the Duel "Now, with your worries cleared, show us the greatest Duel! Yuzu!" Grace urges. Yuzu and Edo scowl at one another "I set one card and end my turn" Edo states.
"My turn!" Yuzu declares and draws. "I use the already set Scale 2 and Scale 9 Pendulum and, Pendulum Summon! Be reborn from my Extra Deck! Lola the Melodious Diva! (ATK: 2000) Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra!" Yuzu declares (ATK: 2600). "She Pendulum Summoned again, but Dystopia's ATK is 2800!" Noro thinks. "She's going to pay him back right now! What're you going to do Yuzu?" Grace cheers. Edo smirks "You prattle on about your Duels with smiles ideals, but do you realize how powerless you are against Academia?" he comments. "How can I get Edo to understand me through Duelling…" Yuzu wonders. "Are you still thinking about that?!" Ruri angrily asks. "He only believes that only his Duelling is right! And he's Duelling to prove that!" She reminds Yuzu. "Only his Duelling is…" Yuzu thinks. "That's it!" Yuzu realize. "Then I'll talk to him using his words!" She decades as the image of a Fairy briefly appears in her eye.
"I activate Chanson's Pendulum Effect!" Yuzu declares. "I can return one card I control to my hand!" She states. "I return Chanson to my hand!" Yuzu said. "She destroyed her own Pendulum Scale?!" Edo shocked. "Next, I activates Lola's monster effect!" Yuzu declares. "By sending an "Melodious" card in my hand to my Graveyard, I can draw one card!" She explains as she discards Chanson. "Good!" Yuzu pleased when she draws Soprano the Melodious Songstress. "I set the Scale 4 Soprano the Melodious Songstress in my Pendulum Zone!" Yuzu said. "Soprano's Pendulum Effect allows me to perform a Fusion Summon without a Fusion Spell Card! She explains. "I fuse Lola the Melodious Diva and Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra!" Yuzu states. "What?! A Fusion Summon?!" Edo gasped in shock. "Melody of the striking angels! The sleeping virtuoso! Become one and give birth to a new life! Fusion Summon!" Yuzu chants. A spurt of white light appears "At this moment, the ATK of all monsters on the field becomes 0 until the End Phase!" Yuzu explains, and the light spurt splits into glowing angels that crash into Dystopia and blast it backwards (Dystopia's ATK: 0) "What's happening?!" Edo asked. "Come forth! The Angel with singing voice of honour! Alouette the Pendulum Maestra!" Yuzu chants (ATK: 3000). "W-What?!" Noro asked in shock, Gloria grits her teeth "Wow!" Grace amazed. "This fairy...Yuzu is still going to talk to members of Academia through Duelling?!" Ruri wonders upon seeing the fairy. "You dare mock me!" Edo said. "Alouette's other monster effect! Its ATK increases by 100 for every monster whose ATK was changed to 0!" Yuzu declares (Alouette's ATK: 3100). "Good it's an ATK of 3100 verse 0! With this, Edo's LP will be-"Mamoru pleased, but he realizes too late that Gloria was right behind him and had heard every word. "To think the Vice Commander of Academia's forces would side with the Lancers!" Gloria scorns Noro. N-No, that's not it! It's not what you think, really!" Mamoru protest.
"Battle! I attack Destiny HERO – Dystopia with Alouette the Pendulum Maestra! Music Rondo!" Yuzu declares. "It's no use! Due to Delay Armor's effect, Dystopia cannot be destroyed in combat!" Edo claims. "It looks like all your mimicry of a Fusion Summon amounts to…" He comments mockingly. "Alouette's third monster effect!" Yuzu declares. "What?!" Edo shocked. "When Alouette attacks, destruction through battle cannot be negated!" Yuzu explains. "Do you think it'd go that smoothly?!" Edo asked Yuzu. "Continuous Trap, Activate! Urban Demise!" He declares. "I can increase the ATK of one of my Destiny HERO by 100 once per turn!" Edo states (Dystopia's ATK: 100). "Dystopia's monster effect, once per turn, when Dystopia's ATK or DEF is changed, I can destroyed one monster my opponent controls! Noble Justice!" Edo declare and Dystopia sucks Alouette into its palm and crushes it "Academia's Fusion Summoning is the true version! All fakes should be erased!" Edo states. "Crap! Damn…" Yuzu cursed. "Do you get it now?" Ruri asked. "No matter how much you try, your voice won't reach him!" she states.
"A torn card…?" Yuzu surprise, when she spots a torn card on the ground beside Edo. "That's-! Smile World!" She realizes. "Is that Yusho's card?! Why do you have it?!" Yuzu asked Edo. "Go! Your turn isn't over yet!" Edo tells Yuzu. "Answer me! Why do you have Yusho's cards?!" Yuzu screams at Edo. Edo flinches "Fine…" He irritably agrees to answer Yuzu. "This was back when I had only just arrived to the Xyz Dimension" Edo explains.
(Flashback)
"So are you the one…Who keeps spreading that nonsense that Duelling is supposed to bring smiles?" Edo asked Yusho. "You've got half of it right" Yusho replies. "What?" Edo asked. "I have spoken of Duelling with smiles yes, but I never said anything about it being nonsense" Yusho replies. "Shut up!" Edo rudely tells him. "I will judge all of those who oppose Academia's Duelling with a Duel!" He vows, and he activated his Duel Disk. "I chose to Duel Yusho Sakaki to prove that Academia's teachings are correct!" Edo explains. "I attack Yusho Sakaki with Dystopia directly! I end my turn here" Edo declares. "You're pretty good…" Yusho admitted, even though he was injured."But if we're going to Duel, why not make it fun?" he suggested. "I activate the Spell Card: Smile World!" Yusho said.
"And in the end…I lost" Edo admits as he remembers the final blow that dropped him from 800 LP to zero. "Impossible…There's no way I can lose…" Edo shocked. "But, it was a fun Duel" Yusho admits. "Fun!? Even though I lost!? What are you talking about?" Edo asked. "That's not what Academia…" He mutters. "Do you get that using Duelling to fight is a foolish thing now?" Yusho asked Edo. "Then you should tell that to Leo Akaba" He suggested as he hold out a Smile World card to Edo. "You! Are you trying to say that Academia's, the Professor's teachings are wrong?!" Edo asked in shock. "Yes" Yusho replies. Edo has reached for the card with a trembling hand, but he couldn't accept that what Yusho had told him was right, and he tore the card in two "No! You're wrong! Don't talk nonsense! I won't be fooled!" Edo scream, frantically protesting. "Academia is always right! The Professor's teachings are absolute!" He screamed, clutching his head. As Edo continued to scream hysterically, Yusho bent down "Sheesh…I guess I have no choice, then…" he realizes but as he picked up the top half of the "Smile World" card he and the card vanished with the same blue glow as Interdimensional Travel Technology. Edo was shocked when he calmed down long enough to notice Yusho's disappearance. "Yusho Sakaki…Is gone!" Edo exclaims. "There were no cards in the area that he was sealed inside of nearby either. If he wasn't turned into a card, did someone else transfer him then?" Edo explains to Yuzu "No, maybe he left for somewhere before I had came to my sense" Edo theorizes as e remembers looking at the bottom half of the Smile World card. "After that, I have always been wondering, looking for Yusho Sakaki. In order to win against him in a Duel and prove that the Professor's teachings are right!" He states. "Then I ran into his acquaintance" Edo said as he remembers using the effect of Dynatag to avoid the attack of Lyrilusc - Unitary Nightingale. "There was no way I would lose to his acquaintance. But the result was a draw…" He laments.

"That's why must defeat you! No matter what!" Edo explains to Yuzu. "Do you understand now? You can't make him understand through Duelling!" Ruri asked Yuzu. "I set one card and end my turn. At this moment Alouette the Pendulum Maestra's effect ends, and Dystopia's ATK returns to normal!" Yuzu states (Dystopia's ATK: 2900). "My turn, draw!" Edo declares. "Prepare yourself, Yuzu Hiragi! In order to prove that Academia's teachings are correct…I will crush you, Yusho Sakaki's acquaintance!" He tells Yuzu. "Yuzu Hiragi's LP is a mere 700. It's over" Gloria notes, and Noro wilts in displeasure. "No! She's got to entertain us even more!" Grace excitedly claims. Yuzu looks surprised, but then she smiles "What are you smiling for?!" Ruri asked. "Oh, nothing…It's just he was always holding onto it…The other half of Smile World" Yuzu comments. "I attack Yuzu Hiragi directly with Destiny HERO – Dystopia!" Edo declares. "That was a lie! It was all wrong! I was never smiling!" Edo insists to himself as he remembers facing Yusho's Performapal Sky Magician. But Edo is in denial; he remembers that he did indeed smile during the Duel "Go! Dystopia! Dystopia Blow!" Edo orders and Dystopia blasts a ball of blue energy at Yuzu.
