THE CLEARWATER'S
CHAPTER 38
SAVANNAH P.O.V
14 weeks pregnant
My morning started with my head in the toilet. I loved being pregnant but this whole morning sickness thing was getting old fast. Thankfully Seth was by my side holding my hair back.
"You okay?" He asked. I nodded my head as he helped me stand so I could brush my teeth. He turned on the shower before stripping and getting in. "Are you sure you don't need me to stay home with you?"
"I'm fine, baby." I commented. "Can I join you?"
"Of course." I stripped before getting in with him. He wrapped his arms around me but was careful of my belly that seemed to pop out overnight. "Do we wanna find out what we're having?" He questioned.
"It's up to you. I don't care either way. If you want to, I'm down."
"I would like to find out but keep it a secret from everyone else." I nodded. "I also have a name picked out."
"I have a few in mind. I just have one request." I commented grabbing the shampoo.
"Anything."
"I want the middle name to be Billy. B-I-L-L-Y if it's a boy and B-I-L-L-I-E if it's a girl."
"I like that." He smiled. Deciding names had always been easy for us but I think this time around it was going to be harder. I had a name in mind that I adored and I knew it was pretty out there and that Seth might not like it. We usually went with Native American name's because we both were and it meant a lot to him to have names that went with the Quileute's tribe.
"Koda is named after Harry. I feel like we should name this one after Billy. But I have a first name in mind if it's a girl." I added. "But I'm afraid you're not going to like it and I really want to name her it." He sighed. He knew that once my mind was made up it was difficult to get my mind off it.
"You don't know that I won't like it." It was my turn to sigh. We usually were able to agree on things pretty easily but I was going to fight to the ends of the Earth to name our daughter this whether she came this pregnancy or a future one. "What is it?"
"Tayenn." I saw his eyes move around not looking at me but up to the ceiling. His lips were moving while he thought about it.
"Does it have a meaning?"
"New moon." I answered. "Spelled T-A-Y-E-N-N."
"Tayenn Billie." He thought about it while I washed my hair.
"Clearwater." I smiled.
"Tayenn Billie Clearwater." I couldn't tell if he liked it or not. His face didn't show any emotion but I was praying in my head that he liked it. Maybe not even as much as I did but as soon as I saw the name I fell in love with it. "I like it." He smiled kissing me. I kissed him back wrapping my arms around him.
"Thank you." I smiled. "I really hope it's a girl." I smiled. I loved being a boy mom but I think I was ready to bring some pink and dresses into our home. When I was little I was either a full girly girl or I was down in the mud getting dirty with the boys. My mom was never into the dresses and the heals and the makeup. I got all of that interest from Alice and Rosalie. I was always able to keep up with the boys for the most part. School on the rez was heavily involved with sports. Dad tried to get me to play football but that wasn't working in my favor so I did softball instead. I was never afraid to get dirty. Of course I spent my weekends running in the woods with the wolves.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked running his hands up and down my back.
"Just our little girl." I smiled. I couldn't wait to have a daughter so I could dress her cute and do her hair. Of course I did the same things with the boys now but it would be nice to have a little girl. "I love our boys but I think there is too much testosterone in this house for me to handle it anymore." I joked.
"We're not that bad." He laughed.
"I need more girls in my life." I commented rinsing my hair before stepping out and wrapping myself in a towel. I looked at the clock. "You're gonna be late if you don't hurry."
"I really couldn't give a shit right now. Honestly." He commented shutting the water off and stepping out. "I would much rather stay here with you." He commented slapping my naked butt as I brushed my hair. I rolled my eyes before grabbing a robe and tying it.
"Can't pay the bills if you don't work."
"Maybe you should get one of the Cullen's to be your sugar daddy." He joked.
"Can you please not? I don't want you to get your feelings hurt." He rolled his eyes.
"Like you could ever hurt my feelings."
"Funny that you think I've never had a crush on Edward." I said braiding my hair and letting it fall down my back.
"What?"
"I was young and you weren't giving me the attention I wanted." I answered.
"So you went to a vampire? The total opposite of me."
"Yes, sir." He wrapped a towel around his waist and let another fall over his shoulder's.
"You're serious?"
"It never went anywhere. Obviously. Since I married your dumbass." I joked wrapping my arms around him.
"That's not nice." He pouted holding my chin between his thumb and pointer finger and kissing me. "I love you."
"I love you." I smiled whispering to him.
"Mama!" I heard from outside our door.
"That's my cue." I smiled pushing passed Seth and opening the bathroom door before opening the door to our bedroom. "Good morning." I smiled down at Koda as he held his arms out.
"Up, please." I carefully picked him up before resting him on my hip.
"How come you got out of bed by yourself?" I asked him going to the kitchen to get him a cup with milk. "Did you wake Kuba?"
"No wake Kub." I handed him his cup before setting him down on the couch with a show on.
"Do you want some fruit?" I asked him already cutting up strawberries and watermelon. "Maybe we could go to the farmers market today."
"Yeah!" He shouted. I brought him over a plate of the fruit before cutting up more for Seth and Kuba. Seth came rushing out as I handed him his lunch. He kissed me quickly before saying bye to Koda and rushing out the door. "Mama?" Koda asked.
"Yes?" I asked making him some eggs and making sure I made enough for when Kuba woke up. I'm sure he was going to be going through a growth spurt soon.
"When I go to school?" I knew that Carlisle said that his growing had slowed but he was only coming up on two and he only looked like a three year old.
"Probably not for another few years baby. Most kids don't go to school until they're 5."
"How old am I?" I giggled a little.
"You're almost two."
"How old are you?"
"24." I answered.
"How old is Kuba and Daddy?"
"Kuba is 10 months old and daddy is 38 on paper. Mentally he's 15 though."
"Menta?" I laughed.
"Nothing." Seth still looked like he was only 25. He stopped aging as soon as he turned. Of course his features changed as he got stronger as a wolf and he looked older but he wasn't aging. He still looked pretty much the same from when he was in his 20's. Of course at 15 he wasn't quite done growing. Mom told me of all the time that she remember that dad seemed to never stop growing.
"How old is Emmett?" Oh jeez. I tried to do the math in my head and I really had no idea.
"I think he's like 115." I told him honestly.
"Wow he's old."
"You're telling me." Kuba cried out for Seth before I rushed up to his room. "Hi, baby. Daddy isn't here." I lifted him from his crib. He was sobbing and his face was red as he clung to me.
"Mommy." He cried clinging to me.
"I got you baby. It's okay." I sat down to rock him. I left the door open so I could still hear Koda but I sat and pulled my shirt up so Kuba could nurse. I rocked gently as he calmed down. Koda was still right where I left him when I came down the stairs with Kuba fully dressed.
"Should I see if maybe Nana and Uncle Ryder wanna come with us?" I was trying really hard to rebuild a relationship with Ryder. It had been difficult for both Seth and I to just invite him back into our lives like nothing happened.
"Emmett!" I looked out the window and to my surprise there was actual sun out there.
"I don't think Emmett will be able to come with us today baby." I commented as I cleaned up the kitchen and cleaned Koda's plate.
"Why no?" I sighed.
"I think he has plans with Rosalie today. But I'll call Nana." I called mom and held the phone to my ear.
"Hey." She said into the phone.
"Hi. I wanted to see if you wanted to go to the farmer's market with me and the boys. I might see if Ryder wants to come too."
"Yeah that would be perfect. What time?"
"Maybe like an hour? I still have to get Koda and myself dressed. Do you wanna call Ryder and see if he can come?"
"Sure." She commented. "Will you pick me up?"
"Yeah. I'll see you soon." I answered hanging up. "Wanna come upstairs with me?" I asked the boys. Kuba was already dressed in a long sleeve onesie but Koda was still in just his diaper. We had tried the whole potty training thing but Koda didn't seem to quite understand that you have to go to the bathroom each time. I usually only have to do 4 loads of laundry a week. When we were trying to potty train, I was doing almost 10 loads.
"Why?"
"To get your butt changed and to get dressed." I answered. "We're gonna pick nana up soon to go to the farmers market."
"No! Emmett."
"Emmett can't come today." I was hard to explain to a child what a vampire was and that they can't go out in the sun. I could see the fit coming from a mile away but I was not in the mood to deal with him. The phone rang before his first cry even fell from his mouth.
"I'll come pick him up." Emmett said into the phone before hanging up.
"Emmett will come pick you up." I commented. "As long as you get dressed." He ran up the stairs with Kuba following behind him. I picked out an outfit for him. I quickly changed his diaper and got him dressed. I brushed out his hair before tying it into a bun so he would be able to play and it wouldn't get in the way.
He checked himself out in the mirror while I grabbed him a sweatshirt. I packed diapers, wipes and a few outfits into a bag to give to Emmett. Then I did the same for Kuba.
Emmett pulled in the driveway and beeped.
"Emmett!" Koda shouted rushing down the stairs and standing at the front door. Emmett came right inside and shut the door behind him.
"I would have brought him out." I said checking to make sure no one saw him.
"No one saw me." He rolled his eyes before lifting Koda. "Are you ready to have a fun filled day with Uncle Emmett?"
"I expect him to return to me in one piece."
"Relax. What is with your mother's and not letting me have fun?"
"You can't replace children." I commented. "Here. Diapers and wipes and extra clothes. And if I find out any of the women over there get anywhere near his head with a pair of scissors, I will send the entire pack over there to rip your heads off."
"Noted." He said. I watched him run at vampire speed and get Koda into the car. Thankfully the car was tinted and no one would be able to see into the car.
"Okay, Kub. I have to get dressed and then we can leave okay?" He was standing at the window watching Emmett.
"Shiny."
"Yeah the car is shiny." I said.
"No. Em." My eyes widened. I could hear Emmett laugh from outside before starting the car and driving off.
"Great Emmett. Thanks." I said. I knew he could still hear me. I left Kuba to stare out the window while I got dressed. "Ready cute stuff?" I asked holding his jacket and a pair of his shoes. I would probably carry him the whole time but I knew he would probably want to walk some of it.
"Yup." He smiled. I quickly got him in the car and drove to Mom's. Ryder was already here. I beeped and they both came out.
"Hi." Mom smiled while she got in the front. I moved Kuba to Koda's seat so that Jett could sit in Kuba's. Ryder sat between both of the boys.
"Hi." I smiled.
"Where's Koda?"
"He wanted Emmett to come. I said Emmett couldn't because of course is sunny out today. He threw a huge fit so Emmett came and got him. I'll pick him up later before Seth gets home." I pulled out onto the street and started driving to the farmers market.
"Gotta pick and choose your battles." Mom commented. "Finn did not want to go to school this morning."
"Yeah. I can't wait for that fight." I commented. "How's fatherhood Ry?" I asked.
"I'm exhausted." Me and mom both laughed. "I give props to everyone who does this. He's gonna be my last."
"I'm sure that's not true." Mom commented. "I'm sure you'll meet a fine lady and get her pregnant too." I laughed while he shook his head.
"I'll be careful next time."
"Are there any girls in your life?"
"Not at the moment." He answered. "I've barely been on two feet for two months where am I suppose to meet a lady?"
"The supermarket." I shrugged.
"Not all of us have it easy where the day we're born we know who we're gonna marry." I knew it was true but of course anything could have changed. At the end of the day it was my decision if I wanted to be with Seth or not.
"It's not my fault."
"I'm not saying it is." He commented. I found a parking spot along the road before getting out. I grabbed the carriage just incase.
"Do you wanna ride in the carriage Kuba?"
"Yeah!" He shouted waiting for me to buckle him in. Ryder walked beside me holding Jett while mom walked in front of us.
"What was it like? The whole imprinting thing?" He asked.
"For Seth, I don't know but for me it was difficult. Of course there were some parts that were easy. Being in love with him was simple. But when we were younger, before we got married, I sometimes wished that it didn't happen. Neither one of us got a choice. Of course I'm glad it was him and not Embry but still."
"You wished you could have made the choice?"
"Sometimes. I love him. I really do. Even without the imprinting I think somewhere down the road I would have loved him but it's difficult. Even today. We picked a name for the baby and I know that he doesn't like the name but he's just agreeing with me because I liked it. Sometimes it's one sided because he thinks that everything I say is the greatest thing he's ever heard."
"You're always right in his eyes."
"Exactly." I picked up a few things to examine them. "How's the whole fatherhood thing going? Signing the paper's soon?" I asked.
"Yeah. And I think it's really hurting mom." He said. "I can just tell every time I pick him up that she's afraid it's gonna be the last time she gets him back. I shouldn't have left in the first place."
"It is hurting her but at the end of the day, he's your baby not theirs." I commented. "They would have helped you take care of him. They would have let you live with him. Why did you leave? Why did you try to have me killed?" Our voices were low enough that just us would be able to hear each other.
"Cause I was jealous." I wasn't expecting him to respond that fast. "Mom and dad were proud of you. Dating, engaged, then married then had a kid. I got some chick knocked up." He added. "I was jealous of all of the attention you were getting. I didn't mean to get her pregnant and hurt your feelings. You have to know that."
"I know that."
"I knew how badly you wanted it. Hell if you didn't get pregnant right after I would have given him to you."
"I was just upset." I shook my head. "I wanted it so badly that I would have murdered to have a kid. And I thought you did it to rub it in my face."
"No. I would never do that. I knew you were struggling. I know I'm an ass, Savannah, but I knew that it meant everything to you."
"And not even me. Seth. He wasn't the same person."
"I know. He keeps reminding me. He pounds me into the ground any chance he gets." I knew that they had been fighting a lot.
"I've tried to tell him to stop." I knew it wasn't going to be easy to let him back in. But we needed to try. "Thank you."
"For?"
"For two years I've wondered why you did that. Why you left. Thanks for giving me answers." I smiled at him. "You'll always be my stinky little brother."
"You'll always be my bitchy older sister." I laughed at his words. It felt nice having him home. It felt nice having our family back together.
