Hello everyone! It is time for the final part of the White Fang battle. You all have no idea how excited I am for this chapter to come out, you will all find out why towards the end of the chapter, it will blow you guys away! With that in mind, let us finish this battle!
Chapter 48
Blackheart crossed both of his Daedric Swords so they form an X as Kannon brought his chainsaw sword on him as his weapon connected with his sword. As the chainsaw sword was letting out inhuman roars as the chains were trying to slice through Blackheart's sword, which had no effect, Kannon looked over and saw Cinder forming her Dust bow, pulled her free arm back as a Dust arrow appeared and fired it at Kannon. As the arrow got close, Kannon held out his right hand as a small purple vortex appeared and the arrow disappeared into it. Knowing now what his Sembalance is, Cinder looked around to figure out where the vortex will appear. Eventually, the vortex appeared behind her and gave her enough time to get out of the way as the arrow appeared by her and exploded. Lucky for her, she was away from the explosion.
Ever since she and Blackheart engaged their battle against Kannon, he had been using his Sembalance non-stop in hope to separate the two of them. But the two managed to avoid his vortexes by either Cinder using her evasive skills or Blackheart's Slow Time Shout.
Seeing Kannon distracted, Blackheart knee kicked him in the stomach and headbutted him to distract him more as Cinder fired a fireball at him and the fireball exploded, sending Kannon to the ground.
As Kannon got up, Blackheart and Cinder reunited as Cinder said "You are going to pay for what you did at Beacon. You, your friends and Elsa, you will pay."
Kannon rolled his shoulders and said "You say that, but in reality, you will all fail and lose."
"Enough of this," Blackheart said as he puts away his Daedric Sword, took out his Daedric Rifle, aimed it at him and said, "Tell us where Elsa and the rest of your gang are."
"You think I'll give them up?" Kannon said, "Fool, our goal is so much more than you realize, and I will not abandon that by simply giving up the others. I'll die before I let that happen."
"Well sadly for us, we can't do that since we are still Huntsmen-in-training," Blackheart said, "So keeping you alive and turning you and the others over to the Atlas military will be a start."
"Then you will have to take me alive," Kannon declared.
He then pointed his chainsaw sword at them as it changed into a gatling gun and fired countless bullets at them. Both Cinder and Blackheart managed to get out of the way as they took cover.
Cinder looked over at Blackheart and asked "What now?"
"Hold on!" Blackheart replied, "I am working on it!"
Just then, his Scroll went off. He answered it as Arthur's voice said "Jonathan! Me and Riku completed our mission! Weiss and Blake are safe and sound, we are ready to leave!"
"Yes!" Blackheart said, "Stay out of sight for now, when the fighting dies down, make your way to Winter and my family, they'll have a ship ready for you guys."
Just then, Ruby's contact appeared and said "That may be a problem! Mom, dad, Uncle Qrow and Winter are getting their butts kicked by the leader! They are losing!"
"Crap!" Blackheart shouted, "What the hell is going on out there?"
"I don't know," Ruby said almost sounding scared, "Jonathan…I'm scared that they might lose."
Blackheart inwardly groaned as he looked over at Cinder and said "Cinder…I hate to do this to you, but…"
"I know," Cinder said knowing what he planned to do, "Go and save them while I deal with him. You may be the only person who can save them."
"Thanks," Blackheart said, "If we survive this, I am taking you out somewhere nice."
As he took off, Cinder shouted "And expensive!"
Seeing Blackheart run off, Kannon raised an eyebrow and said "Where is he going? He's strong enough to take me on, so why…"
His thoughts were interrupted when Cinder launched a huge fireball at him. Without time to create a vortex, Kannon simply evaded her attack as the fireball created a large explosion. Once he recovered, Cinder created two Dust swords, charged at him and swung them at him. Seeing how her swords were made out of Dust, gripping his weapon with his cybernetic left arm, Kannon swung his chainsaw sword and destroyed her swords. However, instead of stopping, Cinder used more of her Dust to create new Dust swords and continued to swing at Kannon. But with each attack, Kannon swung his weapon at hers and would always end up the same as last time. Eventually, Cinder was almost out of Dust as she leaped away from Kannon, carefully not stepping into any vortex.
Once the two fighters were standing far apart, Cinder then said "Surprised you aren't using your vortexes anymore."
"Of course not," Kannon said, "The original plan was to separate you two apart, but since he ran away, all I have to do is focus on you."
"Me?" Cinder asked, "Why is that?"
Kannon replied "You're special now, Cinder. I'm sure you know of it. The Maiden powers in you."
When Kannon said that, Cinder's eyes widen in surprise as Kannon said "Yes, we know about you being the Fall Maiden.
"Then you know about them," Cinder said, "I know your leader is the Winter Maiden,"
She then realized something and said "Wait a minute…you aren't focused on trying to beat either of us. You want to capture me and deliver me to Elsa, aren't you?"
"Well, aren't you smart," Kannon said, "Yes, that is the plan. Capture you and take you to Elsa."
Cinder smirked and said "Well, you are going to have a hard time doing that."
"Oh?" Kannon said, "And why is that? You just got your Maiden powers, you can barely use them."
"What makes you think I have been using them?" Cinder said, "You should know by now that I am still a Huntress-in-training."
Before Kannon was about to ask what she meant, she flicked her wrists as he noticed something on his arm and, when he got a closer look, he saw pieces of Dust on his arm. Now knowing what she meant, his eyes widen in shock as Cinder gave him a confident smirk as she closed her hand and the Dust glowed on his arm and it suddenly exploded. Kannon shouted in pain as he was knocked to the ground. Grunting in pain, he slowly looked down and, to his shock, saw his cybernetic arm completely blown off and his weapon was a few feet away from him. Kannon tried to crawl to his weapon until Cinder opened her hand as Dust crawled around his remaining limbs and started to harden.
As Kannon tried to break free, Cinder said "Try to break free, I dare you. I can't kill you, but I sure as hell can hurt you, just like you hurt Mercury. Those binds are full of Fire Dust, break them, and you will set off an explosion. Now, stay there like a good dog."
Before she headed out, she rushed up to him and delivered a powerful kick to the face, which completely knocked him out. As she took deep breaths, she heard footsteps heading her way. She looked over and was relieved when she saw Weiss, Arthur, Blake and Riku limping towards her.
Smiling at her friends' safety, Cinder rushed up to them and said "Blake, Weiss, you two are alright! Arthur and Riku…what happened?"
Arthur replied "One of Elsa's lackies."
Riku then said "Blake's crazy ex."
Blake softly smacked his head as Arthur said "Where is Jonathan?"
Cinder replied "He went to help the others outside. I managed to take him down."
As she pointed at the downed Kannon, Riku said "Good to know. We have to get out of here, like right now."
"Got it," Cinder said, "I hope Jonathan makes it to the others."
Qrow grunted in pain as he was pushed away with great force as he used his Harbinger to slow down. While the Atlas soldiers were battling against the White Fang members, Qrow, Winter, Summer and Taiyang were all fighting against Leonidas. They thought it was going to be an easy victory for them.
They were wrong.
Qrow fell to his knees exhausted as he looked over at the others: Winter had both her sabers out and had a few bruises on her, same as himself, Summer had her left arm dislocated while Taiyang was next to her with more bruises and cuts on him. But what was surprising the most was the fact that Leonidas had no injures on him since the fight began! His body was covered in a gold Aura as his strength and fighting abilities were increased to the max. And it didn't help that his weapon was not only massive, but also powerful.
Standing proud, Leonidas smirked and said "You four are pathetic if you all considered yourselves Huntsmen."
"What the hell is with this guy?" Qrow asked as he looked over at Winter, "What gives?"
Still in shock from the events that happened, Winter said "I-I don't know. We never seen him fight before, so we don't know what his Sembalance is. Whatever it is…we can't even hurt him!"
"And now you know why I am the High Leader of the White Fang!" Leonidas shouted, "I am the strongest among my kind! Once you are dead, your sister is next!"
Gritting her teeth, Winter pointed her right sword at him and cried "You will not harm my sister, you brute!"
Leonidas laughed and said "Believe me, you won't live long enough to worry about that."
And just like that, Leonidas rushed towards Winter with great speed as he was already in front of her and swung his sword downward. However, Winter used her glyphs in time as it appeared under her feet and she dashed away as Leonidas' axe collided on the floor as it created a small slash on it. Seeing an opening, Winter rushed in and slashed both her sabers at the Lion Faunus, but it seemed to have no effect on him since her attacks weren't harming him. Seeing Winter close to him, Leonidas was about to make an attack on her when Qrow fired his weapon at him. Leonidas' Aura protected him from Qrow's attack as he raised his axe and swung it at him, firing a slash of fire at him. Although Qrow managed to get out of the way, the fire managed to scorch his left side just a bit.
Qrow grunted in frustration as he blamed his Sembalance for everything that has happened: Summer and Taiyang being injured, he and Winter fighting an unstoppable foe and they just heard a while ago that a hoard of Grimm is heading into their direction. He hoped that his nephew and his friends save the others in time.
In rage, Winter tried to attack Leonidas while his back was turned, but the Lion Faunus back handed Winter so hard, he knocked her to the ground as she dropped her weapons. Before she could recover, it was always too late as Leonidas leaped into the air as he brought his axe onto Winter. In fear, all Winter could do is close her eyes as she waited for Leonidas to land her attack.
Cling!
Hearing metals clash together, Winter opened her eyes as she saw Blackheart with his Daedric Greatsword as he blocked Leonidas's attack. The two were struggling on overpowering each other as Leonidas' Aura glowed gold as Blackheart glowed red. Seeing an opening, Qrow rushed in, grabbed Winter and moved her out of the way as Leonidas pushed Blackheart a few feet away from him.
"I am surprised to see someone like you block my attack head-on," Leonidas said, "Who are you, young man?"
"The name is Jonathan," Blackheart said, "And I am here to stop you once and for all."
Hearing her son about to fight Leonidas, Summer cried "Sweetheart, no! He is too powerful to fight alone!"
"Sweetheart?" Leonidas asked, "Why would a human like her call you that?"
"Because they are my family," Blackheart said, "That's right, I was raised by a human family who loved me for who I am, not what I am. Something you should know about, Leo."
Leonidas huffed and said "Why side with the humans when you should be fighting with your kind?"
"Because," Blackheart said, "Despite what the White Fang is and was supposed to represent, Humans and Faunus can live together in harmony. My family is proof of that, and I will not trade it for anything in this world."
As both Summer and Taiyang smiled, Leonidas snarled and said "Then you will die with the rest of them, traitor!"
Gripping his axe, Leonidas charged at Blackheart and swung his weapon. In a fast reaction, Blackheart held his weapon up and blocked Leonidas' attack. Blackheart gritted his teeth as he felt Leonidas' strength against his own. Trying to think of a way to land an attack, Blackheart away as the Lion Faunus chased after him.
When Leonidas got close to him, Blackheart shouted "GAAN LAH HASS!"
Using his Drain Vitality Shout on Leonidas, the shout landed a clean hit on Leonidas and he suddenly felt some of his strength slipping away. Trying to figure out what Blackheart did to him, he was distracted as Blackheart slammed his sword on Leonidas's chest and, with enough strength, sent him a few feet away before using his axe to slow down. Blackehart then switched his weapon to his two Daedric Pistols, aimed them at Leonidas as he charged them up and fired blast at him. Quickly gripping his axe, Leonidas spun his axe as he deflected the blasts away.
Blackheart then charged both of his pistols and fired them at Leonidas while he shouted "TIID KLO UL!"
Seeing the blast heading towards his direction, Leonidas spun his axe once more and deflected the blasts away. However, when he went to look at Blackheart, he was suddenly gone. Wondering where he went, Leonidas looked around until he felt a sudden blow to the back as he was forced to the ground. Grunting in rage, Leonidas looked back and saw Blackheart standing there with a smirk on his face.
When Qrow and Winter reunited with Summer and Taiyang, Winter said "I have to admit, he is holding his ground better than the four of us combined."
"Yeah," Taiyang said, "But for how long? Leo there is stronger than us and Jonathan is fighting him one-on-one."
"Yeah, I agree with you there, Tai," Qrow said, "But…even I have to admit, the kid has guts that no one has. We…have to trust him…"
"But that is my baby out there," Summer said, "And Ruby and Yang are still out there."
Just then, a red blur dashed towards them as it hugged Summer. She looked and saw that it was Ruby. Sighing in relief, Summer hugged her and said "Oh, Ruby dear. I am so glad you are safe. Where is Yang?"
"She is fine," Ruby said, "She and Grif are making their way back. Listen, Victor told me that some of the soldiers brought one of the guys responsible for the attack at Beacon to the ship. Don't worry, he is out cold. And what's more, we did it, Weiss and Blake are safe and they are making their way here."
As Winter sighed in relief knowing her sister is safe, she then asked "Where are they?"
"I don't know," Ruby said, "But they should be here soon. We just need to…"
"AHHH!"
Hearing the scream, they quickly looked over and were in shock as Blackheart was forced back as a large gash was on his chest as blood spurted out a bit, leaving his shoulder harness cut and his shirt ripped. Everyone gasped in shock and horror as Leonidas laughed.
"I have to admit, young man," Leonidas said, "You are very skillful. You have the eyes of a true warrior, a shame you didn't join the White Fang. You would have made a fine soldier."
Blackheart grunted in slight pain and said "Thanks, but no thanks. I'm good where I am at. But you…you are a tough nut to crack. What's your secret? Push-ups? Set-ups? What juice you drink?"
Leonidas chuckled as he said "Might as well, since you've proven worthy."
He then points at the sun and said "My Sembalance allows me to draw energy from the sun, boosting my strength, endurance and abilities. So no matter how hard you try, so long as the sun is at my side, I will always stand victorious."
"Oh that is so broken!" Summer shouted.
As Leonidas grinned, he heard Blackheart laughing and said "Thanks for that, now I know how to beat you."
Confused, Leonidas asked "What do you mean? Unless you plan to fight me until it is nighttime, you will be wasting your time. You may be strong, but you can hold on for so long while I can fight you until you drop!"
Instead of replying back right away, Blackheart tore off his shoulder harness along with his shoulder pad while he ripped his shirt off, leaving him shirtless. He then put away the weapon he had at the moment and said "You depend your strength on the sun while my strength is endless, but there is one thing I can do that no one else can."
"Oh?" Leonidas said, "And what is that?"
"This," Blackheart said before taking a deep breath and shouted "STRUN BAH QO!"
The moment he shouted, the sky started to darken as dark clouds suddenly appeared, covering the sun, as the daylight turned dark. Now realizing what he was doing, Ruby said "Oh, that's right! Jonathan used that Shout during initiation. Made him a bit scary to be honest."
"W-What?!" Leonidas shouted, "What is this?! What did you do?!"
Blackehart replied "Oh me? I just, you know, covered the sun, preventing you from using your Sembalance."
Gritting his teeth in frustration, Leonidas simply said "Doesn't matter, I have enough strength to kill you."
"And that is where you are wrong," Blackheart said, "You kidnapped my friends, tried to kill them and you hurt my family. For that, you will feel my full wrath."
He then thought "Using my Daedric Armor will be overkill for him. Guess I'll use my Dragon Aspect Shout. Humiliate him a lot."
Taking a deep breath, he then shouted "MUL QAH DIIV!"
Unleashing his Dragon Aspect Shout, Blackheart's transparent armor appeared and he cracked his knuckles as he stared at Leonidas. Just as Leonidas was about to readied himself, Jonathan suddenly rushed towards the Lion Faunus with great speed and delivered a powerful blow to Leonidas' stomach, causing him to gasp for air. Everyone was in shock and awe at what Blackheart had done in where they had failed to do. Leonidas tried to recover as he swung his axe but Blackheart quickly grabbed his arm which had his axe, leaped into the air and delivered a powerful kick to his head, causing Leonidas to crash into a metal crate, which bent with great force and then fell to the ground in pain.
"No way…" Winter said still in shock, "How…How can he do all this? We were having trouble with Leonidas, but he is making it look like nothing."
"Surprised too," Qrow said, "I knew there are some tricks he hasn't shown us yet, but for him to not only cover the sun and doing that light show, sure as hell shocked."
"And only after telling what his Sembalance is," Taiyang said, "Jonathan quickly turned the tables against Leonidas."
Roaring in anger, Leonidas rushed towards Blackheart as he raised his axe as he swung it downwards as lightning emitted from the blade. Blackheart quickly moved out of the way as the axe launched a blast of lightning to the ground and, once he recovered, Blackheart charged at him and punched him square in the face and sent the Lion Faunus away.
Once Leonidas was knocked to the ground, Blackheart stood a few feet away from him and said "That may not have killed you, but damn that felt good."
While the adults and Ruby watched the fight between the two Faunus, Grif and Yang appeared as Yang was holding Grif up as he said "Dude, did we miss something?"
Everyone looked over as Summer said "Yang! You are ok!"
"For now," Yang said, "Took a heavy beating from this one guy, but we're good."
Grif saw Ruby and asked "Where's Victor?"
Ruby replied "He's at the ship with one of the people who attacked Beacon. We are just waiting for…"
"Hey! Over here!"
Hearing the voice, they all look as they saw Cinder, Arthur, Weiss, Blake and Riku hurrying towards them. Everyone, especially Winter, were relieved to see Weiss and Blake still alive. Once they regrouped, Weiss saw Winter, perked up a bit and said "Winter…you're here…"
As Winter smiled, Qrow said "Great, now that they're here, how about we get out of here?"
"You think you can escape?" Leonidas said as got up to his feet, "We are the White Fang, we will fight until we have victory!"
As he shouted, some of the White Fang members got up despite their injuries and stood their ground as they aimed their weapons at them. Winter then shouted "Enough! A horde of Grimm is heading our way! If we continue fighting, the Grimm will arrive and kill us all!"
"Then we will die in honor if that means killing you pathetic humans and the traitors that stand with you!" Leonidas shouted.
When Leonidas raised his weapon and the White Fang aimed their weapons at them, everyone who was able to fight and had their weapon readied themselves as they use what strength they had to make it out of this alive. Blackheart on the other hand knew that his friends and family don't have enough energy to keep going, only he has the power and endurance to hold them off and give them a chance to escape. If he can use his Unrelenting Force Shout to knock the White Fang away, he could give them a chance to escape while he stays behind and hold them off. But that would mean them leaving him behind while they escape.
He inwardly sighed and thought "This is the only way. I'm sorry…but it is the only."
Having a plan, he took a deep breath, ready to use his Shout.
"LOK VAH KOOR!"
The Shout erupted the sky as it was slowly clearing up and the sky was blue once again and the sun was burning brightly. As Leonidas smiled as the sun was shining once again on him, everyone was shocked as they turned their head towards Blackheart.
"Jonathan!" Qrow shouted, "Why did you do that?! You had him on the ropes, why did you have to clear the skies?!"
But when they saw his face, there was confusion on Blackheart's face as he said "That…That wasn't me!"
Cinder the said "But…it had to be you. You cleared the sky after you fought the Chaos Bringer during initiation."
"Yeah, I know!" Blackheart cried, "But that, what just happened, it wasn't me! I was about to use a different Shout!"
"But…" Ruby said, "If you didn't do it, then who…"
Leonidas laughed out loud and said "Fool! Now that I have my full strength, I will…"
"RAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
Hearing the massive roar, everyone quickly covered their ears while the Faunus were suffering due to their heighten sense of hearing. Once the roar was gone, everyone was confused as Yang asked "What…the hell…was that?"
Just then, Winter's Scroll started to go off as she got it and answered "This is Specialist Schnee, what is it?"
On the other end, a soldier replied "Specialist! The horde is retreating back into the forest!"
Winter felt her heart drop as she said "T-The Grimm are retreating?!"
When Winter said that, everyone turned to her and Arthur said "No…that's impossible. Grimm would never retreat."
"Well obviously they did if whatever made that sound scared them off," Grif said.
Blake turned her head west and said "The roar came from that direction."
On the Scroll, the soldier said "Ma'am! We are seeing an unidentified signal coming from the West. And…it's coming in fast!"
When everyone heard that, Blackheart was both confused and curious as he thought "What the hell is going on here? First a Shout that wasn't mine cleared the skies, a roar so loud that it scared the Grimm away and now something is heading our direction."
He then looked at Leonidas and shouted "Hey! What the hell was that?!"
"The hell are we supposed to know?!" Leonidas shouted back.
"Whatever that was, it's coming from the west," Blackheart said.
"That's impossible," Leonidas said, "There nothing in that direction, other than…"
Suddenly, Leonidas' face fell before saying "Tell me…when you all arrived here, did you speak to anyone why you were here?"
"What?" Winter said, "We wanted to, but we were short on time and wanted to inform the leader at Kuo Kuana about what you were planning after we saved my sister and her friend."
However, Blackheart and the others were silent before Ruby said "Well…um…we MAY have told someone when we were trying to find the White Fang. They told us that they were going to head back to get some help."
Leonidas stood quiet before he said "Who exactly was it that you warned?"
Ruby agitated a bit before saying "H-Her name was Ilia."
Hearing the name, Blake turned to Ruby in surprised and said "Ilia?"
In rage, Leonidas shouted "YOU INSOLENT GIRL, YOU HAVE DOOMED US ALL!"
Surprised by this outburst, Summer replied "Hey, don't talk to my daughter like that!"
"Well I should!" Leonidas shouted, "And now, because of her, we are all dead!"
"Ok, you need to chill," Taiyang said, "What are you even talking about? And what do you mean we are all dead?"
"Uh…guys?" Grif said as he looked into the horizon, "Is fire supposed to be large and black?"
"Uh no?" Yang said as she looked at where Grif was looking at, "Why would you OH WHAT IS THAT?!"
As Yang pointed at the sky, everyone looked where she was pointing and saw a large ball of black fire heading towards their direction in intense speed. Seeing it not slowing down and closing in, Winter shouted "Take cover!"
Everyone quickly moved away while the White Fang stood there in fear, even Leonidas himself. The moment everyone was away, the ball of black fire arrived and crashed to the ground, releasing a massive shockwave that knocked everyone and everything away. Once the shockwave settled and there was smoke in the air, everyone coughed as they slowly got up and looked around. They were in shock that there was a large crater between them and the White Fang, however, it would seem the White Fang had more casualties as some of the members were knocked unconscious while others were barely standing up due to their loss in strength. Only Leonidas was shakily on his feet due to his Sembalance being active.
"What…was that?" Arthur asked as he looked around, "Everyone alright?"
As he saw everyone nodded their head, he noticed Grif standing stiff in fear and asked "Grif…you okay?"
"Bro…" Grif said as he squeezed Yang's arm, "What…the hell is that?"
"Grif is scared…" Arthur thought, "Must be his animal instincts. What just landed?"
Blackheart helped his mother up as he looked back and saw the smoke clearing up. Once it was, he noticed a figure standing in the center of the crater and…that was when he felt it. Whether it was his instincts or something else, he felt the presence in that crater. What he felt was raw rage and evil, something he hadn't felt in a long time. And that was when it hit him as he saw the figure once the smoke was gone…and he was in massive shock the moment he laid his eyes on the figure. It really has been a long time since he's seen HIM, but seeing him now…there was no doubt about it.
Standing in the center of the crater was a tall man with long black hair that was in a ponytail with a full black beard. He was wearing a long, sleevless, black leather coat that looked like scales, black pants with a black belt with a silver buckle and black boots. However, that wasn't what stood out from this person. What stood out was that his arm and hands were covered in black thick scales that reached up to his elbows and had finger claws on them, his eyes were bloody red and had two horns that curved inward then pointed backwards.
Even though this person looked like a male Faunus, Blackheart knew better than anyone present on who this person was, despite having a different form. He knew him by many names…

The God of Destruction
And the World Eater
But to Blackheart…he knew him by one name, a name he thought he would never hear or say again in his life.
"Alduin."
