A/N: Hey guys! So I messed up. I've mentioned before that I have each chapter planned, and I was paying attention to my outline, and I combined chapters 104 and 105 on my outline. SO INSTEAD OF HAVING TO TRANSFER A PDF FILE TO AN ODT FILE OR A WORD FILE TO EDIT IT, I've decided that I'm going to make a little mini-chapter that focuses on information Alice finds out when she visits the Netherworld. This chapter will pick up after the Cullens get back from the training lesson and it will go to when Alice comes back from the Netherworld.
Also, I am aware that the quote from the last chapter is the same quote from Chapter 20. I saw it when I was scrolling through the plans. BUT IT'S OKAY. Blast from the past.
I've taken notice of an inconsistency in the story that I would like to clarify. In one chapter, Alice told Jasper that she was going to become a licensed Auror before she became a Death Eater, and in the last chapter, she said she only made it a few weeks. She only lasted a few weeks in training, but Kingsley had her take the test just to see if she could pass it and she did. So without the training, she was going to become an Auror for her work in the Department of Mysteries. I have gone back into previous chapters, and edited it to make that clear. Hopefully I've gotten all the inconsistencies regarding Auror's worked out.
Enjoy the chapter!

Chapter 105-It Feels The Same As Before
We had plenty of time before it was time to leave to go hunting. Jasper and I thought it might help some if I slept, just to make sure that I would have more than enough energy for the upcoming battle. I would sleep tomorrow night too.
I stole a pair of Jasper's sweatpants, and curled up next to him where he was reading a book.
"Do you think you'll find Cedric?"
"I don't know," I said. "I still don't know how they decide who to send. They said that they base it on who they think I need the most at that time."
"Well it's always worth a try."
I smiled and closed my eyes, still leaning against his shoulder.
When I fell into the Netherworld, it wasn't Cedric who was waiting for me. It was Dumbeldore, and we were in his office at Hogwarts.
"Professor?" I questioned.
"Alice," he breathed. "I'm glad I found you. I know you were expecting Cedric, but something else has come up."
"Is everything okay?"
"No," Dumbledore said.
"This isn't about Tom again, is it?"
"No. Not this time. We still think that he will come back for you eventually, but not now."
"So what is it?"
"Sit," he said, pointing to a chair, and taking the one across from it.
"Professor, you're worrying me. What is it?"
"You and your coven, you've been training for the battle against the newborn army in Seattle, Washington, correct?"
"Yes," I said slowly.
"Well I have information for you. Information I can't keep. Your mother, father, and I have figured out how to look in on other people, and in an attempt to give you an advantage, we looked in on the Seattle army. When we were looking in on them, more specifically the leaders of the army, we saw members of the Volturi's guard."
"What?" I asked wide eyed. "The Volturi knows about the army?"
Dumbledore nodded.
"They came at the beginning of the week."
"So why haven't they done anything about it?" I growled.
"It is our understanding that they are actually hoping for the army's success in wiping out your coven."
"But we haven't done anything wrong!" I groaned.
"It seems that this all has to do with the human girl, or at least that's what the guard members said."
"You think that it's something more."
"I think that it might be," he said.
"What do you think it is?"
"When we heard what we did in Seattle, we decided to look in on Italy. Aro, Caius, and Marcus were talking about the army. They doubt that you will die in the battle, and they are hoping with the elimination of your coven, you would join them. They are even considering the idea of offering Jasper a place in the guard to please you."
"If the Cullens are eliminated, then I'd go to Britain," I frowned, shaking my head. "Surely I've told them that."
"They're hoping you'll change your mind."
"I wouldn't."
"Alice, it's absolutely essential now that you and your coven wins. The leaders of this army are working their soldiers harder than before. They were given until Friday. On Friday, if they don't do what they were made to do, the Volturi will end them."
"Professor, I don't want to do this," I whispered.
"I don't think you have much of a choice anymore. Can I speak my opinion honestly?"
"Go ahead."
"When this is over, and you live out your time in Forks, I don't think it would be a bad idea to consider leaving the Cullens."
I sighed.
"I'm starting to think the same thing…Bella, she's a magnet for trouble. I'll never be able to have the quiet life I wanted for me and Jasper while I'm there."
"Your mother and father want to see you," Dumbledore said. "They're waiting outside."
As he spoke, the door behind me opened.
"Mum! Dad!" I exclaimed jumping to my feet and running to them.
They hugged me tightly.
"Oh, Alice, we're so sorry," Mum said. "We wish that we could have found a way to get the news to you sooner so you and Jasper could have a plan. We just didn't know how to do it."
"It's not your fault," I said, shaking my head.
"We're lucky you decided to sleep tonight," Dad said. "We were trying everything possible to try and figure out how to get you here."
I sighed as I sat back down.
"We're sorry that it's come to this," Dumbeldore said. "We know you were happy with the Cullens."
"We were," I said. "But Edward will always choose Bella, and they will always choose Edward, and I have to keep Jasper safe."
"Just because you leave doesn't mean you can't still be a family," Mum said.
"I don't think they'd see us as their family if we left…acquaintances maybe, if that."
"Why do you say that?"
"When Jasper and I came back from Britain, we came back to a broken family. Nobody laughed, Carlisle avoided the house, and Esme worked on the same blueprint over and over again because none of them seemed to be good enough… We went to Denali, and Carlisle and I fought. Things got better after that, but even still, things remained rocky. Now we have the newborn army, and I have to fight. It feels like I'm in another war."
"You told Jasper that things felt the same," Dad said.
I nodded.
"Remember after Voldemort came back?" I asked Dad. "We all knew he'd come at some point, but none of us really knew when, so we just waited for the first attack?"
"Yes," Dad said. "I remember."
"Then the attack came," I said, leaning back against the chair. "The first attack came, and you died."
"I'm sorry, Alice."
I shook my head.
"That's not what I mean. I mean that the first attack is coming. If the Volturi is a factor in this, there is a good chance that we won't make it. The first attack will come, and I'm scared that the things that I love the most will disappear. Just like you, and Mum, and Fred."
"Jasper?"
"Jasper, and Harry, and George, and everyone at Hogwarts. Everyone."
"That's why you have to keep them safe," Dumbledore said, putting a hand on my shoulder.
I felt the pull from the underworld.
"I have to go," I whispered.
"It's going to be okay, Alice," Dad said, hugging me tightly. "Keep fighting!"
"We'll speak again soon, Alice," Dumbeldore said.
"We love you," Mom said, hugging me.
Then Mom, Dad, and Dumbledore were gone, and everything went black.
"Jasper," I gasped, as my eyes snapped open.
"Alice?" Jasper asked, turning towards me. "What is it? What's wrong?"
"My wand," I breathed. "Where's my wand?"
Jasper reached to the bedside table and handed me my wand. I pointed it at the door, and cast silencing charms on the door.
"Alice what is it? What's going on?"
"I was right," I told him, scrambling to sit up.
"You were right about what?"
"I went to the Netherworld, and instead of Cedric, Mum, Dad, and Dumbledore were waiting there for me. They said it was an emergency."
"Slow down, Alice," Jasper said, putting his hands on the sides of my face. "What happened?"
"My family, they figured out how to look in on other people. People outside of witches and wizards. So they looked in on the army in Seattle to try and give us an advantage."
"That's great!" Jasper beamed.
"No," I said, shaking my head. "It isn't. When they looked, members of the Volturi's guard were talking to Victoria and Riley. They said they'd give them five days to do what they were made to do or they would be destroyed. So my family looked in on Italy. They looked for Aro, Marcus, and Caius. The Volturi is hoping that the army will wipe out all of us, but they're looking to see about sparing me. They think that if the coven is destroyed, I'd want to join them, and to ensure that they get me, they're even willing to offer you a place in the guard."
Jasper looked at me with wide eyes.
"They what?"
"Listen to me," I said. "The others, they can't know. But it's more important now that we try to win the fight."
Jasper nodded.
"We should practice," he said. "Make sure that you have the fighting with magic and without it down."
I nodded.
"We'll go to the field close to the house, and then we'll meet up with the others to go hunting."
"Come on," he said, pulling me to my feet. "We have to get dressed."
I paused as he tried to guide me to the closet.
"Jazz?"
"Hmm?"
"Dumbledore thinks that when all of this is over, and we finish up in Forks, it may not be a bad idea to leave the Cullens," I paused for a moment, and looked at the ground, "and I'm starting to think that it may not be a bad idea."
Jasper pulled me into a tight hug.
"We'll figure it all out," Jasper said. "I promise, but for now, let's focus on winning this fight."
I nodded, and let him pull me into the closet.
Hey guys! Like I said, this chapter isn't going to be very long, but I have a longer chapter coming soon. I do want to explain some of the decisions made in this chapter.
In the novella, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, it is said that the Volturi went to Victoria and Riley, originally to punish them for their crimes. When they confirm it does have to do with the Cullens, they tell them that if they go in five days, they might be spared. I included this as something that Alice knew (where she didn't in the actual plot) because I thought that it might give her a reason to work harder. Alice is the most powerful witch and vampire, and I found it hard to imagine that she wouldn't know that the Volturi was involved with the Seattle Army.
The next this is that the way I pictured where those who have died to work in my head was that they can watch over everyone in the Wizarding World, but not really anybody else. Dumbeldore, Johanna, and Sirius, however, were able to break that, and that's how they learned about the Volturi. I hope this makes sense. It does to me, but I never know for sure.
If this doesn't clear anything up, please feel free to PM me with any questions that you may have. You can also find me on Twitter and Tumblr, the users are the same as here, except on Twitter, instead of Whitlock, it's just a W. I will also put links on my profile page!
Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you in the next chapter!
