Akai Shuichi had called in sick. He didn't tend to let illness get in the way of his investigations and always came to work. The fact that Akai was sick enough to not come in today worried Jodie and James, hence why they decided to visit the Silver Bullet's apartment. When they arrived at the door, they knocked. A few seconds later the door opened.

Akai stood there, a blanket draped over his shoulders. His face was flushed red and his hair was a mess. "Why're you guys here?" His voice was terribly hoarse.

"Shuu, you're really sick!" Jodie frowned. "We were right to come here. Let's get you back into bed,"

"I'm fine," Akai waved her off. "My boyfriend's taking care of me,"

Now Jodie and James were both socked. "Your boyfriend!?"

"He's making me some food," Akai said.

"Shuichi, why are you standing up?" A voice from inside of Akai's apartment called. "Sit down and rest,"

"My friends are here," Akai told him. "They came to check up on me,"

"They can stay for a little while but I don't want them bothering you," Akai's mystery boyfriend said.

"Melkior says you guys can stay for a bit," Akai opened the door wider and curled up on the armchair.

The two FBI Agents took a seat on the couch. "I guess you won't be able to come to work for at least a few more days," James noted. "You're really sick,"

"Mel says I shouldn't strain myself and that I need lots of rest," Akai replied.

"I brought some tea for you and your friends," To Jodie and James' shock, Gin joined them in the living room, carrying a tray of tea and a bowl of okayu. He set the tray down and picked up the bowl, not at all bothered by the other two's presence. He spooned some rice and blew on it to cool it down enough for Akai to eat.

Akai casually ate it. "Thanks Melkior,"

"S-Shuu," Jodie really wanted to point her gun at the moment but she had so many questions. "Why is Gin in your apartment and feeding you rice porridge?"

"This is Ikari Melkior, my boyfriend," Akai introduced. "And he's taking care of me while I'm sick,"

"Shuu, you're dating Gin!" Jodie pointed out.

"Jodie," Akai responded calmly. "I prefer to keep my work life and my personal life separate,"

"That doesn't change the fact that you're dating a wanted criminal!" Jodie argued.

"Jodie, have you ever had a boyfriend?" Akai asked.

"We literally dated up until two years ago," Jodie reminded. She could've sworn that she heard Gin let out a possessive growl and saw him move closer to Akai.

"So you know how magical love is," Akai continued eating as Gin fed him more porridge. "Love conquers all boundaries, whether it be different social classes or simply because one is a criminal and the other is an FBI Agent,"

"Didn't he kill Miyano Akemi, your girlfriend?" James inquired.

"Akemi and I tried to continue on as a normal relationship but…it didn't work out," Akai answered honestly. "She broke up with me about a month before her death,"

"Shuu, you can't honestly believe that we're going to ignore the fact that you and Gin are dating!" Jodie exclaimed.

"I told you," Akai repeated. "I prefer to keep my work life and my personal life separate,"

The crows had barely managed to escape the FBI Agents after a failed assassination attempt on Mouri Kogoro. Gin wiped the blood from his mouth and grinned. "I'll make Akai pay,"

"In bed," Vermouth joked, trying to lighten the mood.

There was a few silent moments. "A-Aniki?" Vodka asked. "Usually when Vermouth teases you, you have a snarky comeback,"

"T-This is a new tactic to try to deflect my attempts to rile you up, right?" Vermouth stuttered. "There's no way you're actually going to make him pay in bed,"

Gin didn't answer, his mind focused on ways to punish Akai…in bed.

Jodie wailed loudly after she had confirmation that the fingerprints on Conan's cell phone matched the ones from the corpse at Raiha Pass. "I knew Gin was using him! Gin doesn't care at all about Shuu! If he honestly loved Shuu, then he wouldn't have let him die!"

They arrived at Akai's apartment to grab his stuff. However when they knocked on the door, Akai answered it. "Oh, hey guys. Why are you guys so sad? You're acting like someone died,"

"Someone did die!" Jodie snapped. "You did! You died!" Tears started flowing and she brought him into a hug. "You're alive…"

"Yeah?" Akai blinked with confusion.

"Bitch, get your hands off my boyfriend!" Gin growled, possessively pulling Akai away from the blonde.

"Akai-kun, you're supposed to have faked your death and disguised yourself as Okiya Subaru," James said. "Why are you still in your apartment with Gin?"

"I told you guys already," Akai repeated once more. "I prefer to keep my work life and my personal life separate. During work hours, Akai Shuichi is dead. During personal hours, Akai Shuichi is alive and snuggling with a silver teddy bear,"

During the final battle, both Gin and Akai were missing from the scene. "Where the hell is Gin!?" Karasuma demanded.

"Gin said that his shift is over and that he keeps his work life and personal life separate," Vermouth informed. "It makes me curious as to what someone like him does outside of work. Though, I am surprised that the FBI's Silver Bullet is also missing,"

"Akai-san was with us a few minutes ago," Camel looked around. "Where could he have gone?"

Jodie received a video call and answered it. "Shuu, where the hell are you!?"

"Hi Jodie," Akai greeted. "Melkior and I are in a jewelry store. We're picking out wedding rings,"

"Hey Shuichi, how's this one?" Gin held up a red ring and a silver ring.

"It's perfect!" Akai smiled brightly.

Though not everyone could see the screen, everyone could recognize the voices of Akai Shuichi and Gin. "GIN AND AKAI ARE GETTING MARRIED!?"

"You're invited to the wedding," Gin told Jodie. "If you're worried about a wedding gift, just put Vermouth's head on a stake," Gin was grinning smugly, as if rubbing his relationship status in Jodie's face. While Jodie hadn't gotten past the dating phase, Gin was getting married to Akai.

"Shuu, how could you leave us at such a crucial time!?" Jodie demanded. "This is the final battle against the organization!"

"For the umpteenth time, Jodie, I prefer to keep my work life and my personal life separate!"

The two got married and they lived happily ever after.

So this one was more of from Akai's POV/FBI's POV rather than Gin, but Gin is still Akai boyfriend. Well, he's Akai's husband now.

Ah, the Gikai pairing takes me back to the GinAndAkaiAreDatingAndShouldGetMarried/GAAADASGM days.
