"Whoa Doc, you shouldn't be here...right?" Henry asked Finn as he appeared at the truck that Owen had just helped her out of.
"That's what I've been trying to tell her." Owen said crossly with a pointed look at Finn and she narrowed her eyes at him before she looked at Henry.
"Morning Henry." she said.
He gave her an apologetic look then said, "Morning Doc."
"I'm totally fine." she told him with a smile.
"You're not." Owen said.
"Finn!" Barry's voice suddenly called from across the paddock and she looked over to see him smiling and giving her a wave as he was speaking with someone, she smiled and waved back before looking at Owen.
"The doctor told me I can come back to work." she said, more to Henry than Owen who she was still looking at.
"You really don't need to be here though...you should be at home with your feet up, where there is air conditioning." Owen replied as he placed a hand on her lower back.
Henry had sighed at the mention of air conditioning and said, "I'd be bought by that Doc."
"I have my little fan in the office where there is also a sofa if I want to rest." she said after smiling at him and she emphasized the last word with a look in Owen's direction.
Henry nodded then said, "Well I'm glad to see you back but please...don't do anything like that again, I almost had a heart attack."
"Thank you, Henry." she said with a smile then reached for him, she placed her hand on his upper arm.
"Thanks man." Owen said when Finn removed her hand from Henry, he then gabbed his hand with one of his own and placed the other on his shoulder, he lowered his voice as he said, "Seriously...you were there to help her and, I'm grateful for that."
Henry shook Owen's hand and gave his arm a pat with the other as he nodded his head, "Yeah man, no worries...I'm glad it wasn't any worse."
"Me too." Owen said then looked at Finn where he swallowed, "I don't know what I'd have done."
He stared at her for the longest moment and she inhaled before giving him a shy smile and speaking in a quiet voice, "I'm okay."
Owen nodded his head at that then cleared his throat, a beat passed before he leaned in and kissed her gently on the forehead, she closed her eyes briefly at the contact then let out a sigh as she looked up at him.
Owen pulled back from her and looked at Henry, he gave him another nod as he said, "I really am grateful."
"I know man." Henry replied with a nod then smiled at them both, "I better get back to work."
He walked off and left them where they were stood, they both watched him for a moment then looked at one another and a beat passed before they smiled at each other.
"I should probably get to work too." she broke the silence to say, "I have an incident report to fill in."
Owen's smile vanished, "That's not funny Finn."
"I didn't intend for it to be." she replied as her own smile began to fade, "Just stating the truth."
Owen didn't say anything, he just stared at her, long enough for Finn to prompt him to go and do some work.
"I'm going to be checking on you regularly." he told her and she rolled her eyes, "I will."
"Okay." she replied with a sigh then reached for her crutches but Owen told her to leave them and made a move to lift her, "Don't."
"Don't?" he asked with furrowed brows.
"I have crutches for a reason." she told him.
He scoffed, "You need both and you can only use one because of your arm...I'm not letting you get hurt when I can easily carry you."
"We're at work." she stated and he stared at her with a 'right?' expression, "There are lots of eyes at work."
"You're not serious?" he asked before rolling his eyes, "Now's not the time to be worrying what anyone thinks Finn."
"Have you forgotten about my interaction with Miss Dearing yesterday?" she asked.
"I don't care what she thinks." he replied with a scoff, "And neither should you."
"We should ca-" she began to say but he cut her off by saying her name firmly and they stared at one another for a long moment before she let out a sigh, "Fine...if you really insist on carrying me like five feet."
"I do." he said instantly and she inhaled a breath before gesturing to herself, he smiled as he bent slightly and lifted her up into his arms.
Immediately there were guys at the paddock looking over at them curiously, Finn sighed as she said, "I can only imagine how this looks."
"Do you really care?" Owen asked as he carried her into the office, his tone sounded a little hurt.
She hesitated before replying, "For some reasons, yeah."
Owen halted next to the chair behind the desk and stared at her, a moment passed before she smiled and lifted her hand from around his shoulders to cup the back of his head, she played with his hair briefly then surprised him with a quick and chaste kiss.
He chuckled and said, "I barely felt that."
"Well you should have been paying attention." she replied as she attempted to wiggle out of his hold but he held on tight and she looked at him, "Would you be so kind...and deposit me into the chair?"
"Not yet." he said then pressed his lips against hers in a long kiss and when he attempted to deepen it she shook her head and pulled back, she then breathed out his name which made him grin, "Do you want me to let you get on with work now?"
"Yes and no." she replied with a sigh and his grin widened until she kissed him softly then pulled back to peck him on the cheek, "Now you have to leave or, I'll never get anything done."
He chuckled and set her gently in the chair, then kissed the top of her head before he walked around to the front of the desk.
She bit her lip when he leaned on it with both of his hands and gave her a smirk, "Is there anything I can get you before I get to work Dr?"
She released her lip from her teeth and smiled as she replied, "No thank you Mr Grady."
He continued to smirk as he pushed himself up off of the desk and then he looked serious again, "Seriously though, if you need anything and I don't care what it is, if you want me to come and take your boots off or TYPE for you. I will."
She huffed out a laugh at what he said but nodded her head, "I will let you know."
"You better." he replied as he began to back away and once he was stood in the doorway he halted and just stared at her.
A long moment had passed before she smiled and asked, "What?"
He shook his head then said, "I'm just...happy, that you're here."
She swallowed at his words and tried to joke lightly, "So that the paperwork doesn't pile up?"
"That you're alive." he said immediately and a silence filled the room, they stared at one another for a long moment before she spoke.
"You're not getting rid of me that easily." she barely managed to get out before she smiled at him.
He smiled but it didn't reach his eyes, it was for her sake more than anything, he then nodded and said, "Good."
There was another brief silence before someone called out his name, he glanced over his shoulder then looked back at her, "Don't work too hard."
"I won't." she said softly.
"I mean that." he replied with raised brows and she nodded, "I'll come back and see you in a bit."
"Okay." she said and he winked at her before he walked off.
She let out a sigh as he'd left then logged onto the computer and as she did a smile formed on her face, she was glad to be back at work, she'd only missed a day but she was in a routine for keeping on top of things and she wanted to keep it that way, also, she'd have gone crazy if she'd been made to stay at home all day like Owen had wanted.
As they'd had breakfast that morning Finn had told him she wanted to go to work with him and he'd shot her down immediately, he just wasn't having it, it had taken her around an hour to convince him to let her and he'd told her that the only way he'd allow it would be if she let him take her to the doctor first.
Finn had been very reluctant to it but Owen was adamant about it, the only way she'd get out of her house would be if she let him have his way, so she had, she'd had to change her clothes first though.
He'd waited outside her bathroom as she'd had what was the quickest and most unsatisfying shower she'd ever had, the power of the water was too much for her to bear and she was out in under five minutes.
She'd not even had to think twice about wearing shorts instead of trousers, there was no way she would risk the fabric touching her leg, brushing it against the bed that morning had almost taken her breath away.
Once she'd had her underwear on and her shorts, she'd called him in to help her with her shirt, she couldn't move her arm a certain way as it hurt.
The look on his face had been priceless, he'd been like a deer caught in the headlights and it had made her laugh.
He'd approached her with a smirk then gently took a hold of her waist as he'd said 'you're torturing me'.
She'd smiled and asked sweetly 'can you help me put this on?' as she'd gestured to her top and he'd groaned in response before telling her that she was killing him but he did help her, very gently, put her top on.
Once she had dressed he'd carried her out to her jeep and set her down in the passenger seat before he went back for her crutches, 'not that you'll be needing them' he'd commented as he climbed in the driver seat.
He'd drove them to his place first which she noticed was a lot smaller than hers yet, it looked perfect to her, he'd told her he was going to run in and change and asked if she wanted to come in but she'd told him that she'd wait in the car, hoping to see inside his place soon.
She'd not meant it to sound the way it did but he'd responded with a wink and left her blushing, he was back within five minutes in fresh clothes and then they headed for the park to see the doctor who had told her she could go to work, only as long as she wasn't standing for long periods of time and making sure to stay hydrated.
It had been good enough for Finn and she'd smiled as Owen carried her back out to the car, he wasn't in the best mood about it but he'd eventually smiled at her when she kept grinning at him.
Once she was logged on she pulled up a blank document, before doing any work she had to report what had happened to her, with a sigh, she began to type.
