Chapter Forty Seven:
Sunday, November 2, 1997 – Los Angeles, CA
Amazing what a hot shower and a friendly face can do for your attitude. That is, until you walk back into the living room and find the possibly-not quite-yet ex-fiancé' of the man you want to have children with standing in it.
Daisy was waiting for her. Rather more patiently than she had expected. Clearly she wanted answers and Soonie was not sure which ones she could give and which only Enos should provide.
Soonie thought of asking Daisy if she preferred coffee or tea. Instead, she went to the refrigerator, pulled out a bottle of soju, poured the wine into two shot sized glasses and handed one to Daisy.
Before Daisy could put the glass to her lips, Soonie warned, "You should be careful. It can sneak up on you."
Not missing the double entendre, Daisy took a sip, licked her lips and put the glass down on the counter.
"So, Kay. What is it I need to know about Kate and Enos before it gets splashed all over the news?"
A/N: I made a correction to the reference to soju. Soju is served cold, but should always be served by pouring into glasses first. There as a purportedly a strict social rule about serving soju when in Korean company regarding how the bottle and glass are held to pour as well as opening the bottle. However, I have not seen this on any of the current Korean TV so it may be an outmoded ritual.
