A few days later after Sidewinder had recovered from the minibot attack and Mirage and his entire entourage moved once again to another base, Optimus was once again fighting in a dangerous battle. Ironhide was with him as were many other mechs and femmes that were ready and willing to fight for freedom. Optimus was tired of all of this, but he knew he and his band of bots were the only things standing between freedom for all bots and ultimate destruction of Cybertron. It only took Optimus to think of his sparklings to be inspired to fight harder. He didn't want them to grow up in a world in the midst of a civil war.
Megatron, who was enraged that Optimus was still online, fought hard and dirty. He blasted the Prime every chance the foul Decepticon got. Megatron was bound and determined to destroy the resistance and recreate Cybertron how the Con saw fit. The only problem was that Optimus and his Autobots thwarted every scheme. What Optimus didn't know was that Megatron had sent a spy into the base to try and destroy those inside.
As Optimus and Megstron fought, Ravage tried to sneak in again through the tunnel she had previously found. She had a bomb on her, hoping to plant it inside the base to take out as many bots as possible. What she didn't know was that two Autobot cassetticons were guarding the hall, about halfway between the base and the outside. They were well hidden, as they had memorized this secret entrance after the Prime revealed the cons had found the base. Fortunately for the Autobots, Rewind and another Autobot cassetticon stopped Ravage in her tracks and took her out before deactivating the bomb she carried.
Back outside, Megatron was fighting Optimus when he didn't hear any explosion. He was livid. He tried to attack the Prime as well as head towards the area that Ravage had been sent, but Prime stopped the Con cold. And before Megatron could move, Optimus made the last move and ended Megatron. Once Megatron was thoroughly defeated, and the rest of the Cons realized it, the Cons fled. They didn't want to end up like Megatron had.
Optimus sighed. Yes, he was glad that the fighting would now hopefully be over, but he regretted how much loss of life and pain it had cost. He knew that was part of war, but he still didn't like it. Nevertheless, the Autobots would celebrate this victory and try to rebuild Cybertron. Prime looked at his troops, many who were badly injured. "Autobots, it would appear we have now have a chance for peace and freedom. But never forget the sacrifices that paid for that peace. Let's head for home" Optimus boldly stated. He knew Starscream could be trouble, but for now, the cons were in utter disarray. The bots that had been with Optimus shouted for joy as they all headed back for the base. It truly had been a great day.
