A/N: Hello everyone, I am back with the one - hundredth chapter of this story. Here, we finally get the backstory of Rose/Pink.

Pearl Byrd was amazed. The Diamond family compound was a lavish Victorian mansion built just outside Ocean Town. The giant mansion was well kept up with all of the rooms neat and tidy. Except for the bedroom of one Pink Diamond. Posters hung on the wall and clothes laid on the floor. Pearl and Pink Diamond where seated on the latter's bed talking.
"This is so exciting. I never had people over." said Pink Diamond.
"I'm happy to be here." replied Pearl blushing.
"So...what do we d now?" asked Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond rubbed the back of her neck.
"I've...never been in this situation before." admitted Pink Diamond.
"I'm fine doing whatever you want." answered Pink Diamond.
"We could watch a movie." proposed Pearl.
"I love Disney's Hercules." noted Pink Diamond.
"It's so weird." mused Pearl.
"What is?" asked Pink Diamond confused.
"You're a member of the most powerful family in Delmarva, but you're nothing like your sisters." noted Pearl.
Pink Diamond rolled her eyes.
"Don't remind me." groaned Pink Diamond.
Pearl gave a confused look.
"My sisters look down on me. They treat me like I'm nothing but a little kid." explained Pink Diamond.
"I'm sorry to hear that." said Pearl.
Pink Diamond shook her head.
"It's fine. I'm used to it." said Pink Diamond dryly.
Pink Diamond shook her head.
"But let's focus on that movie." said Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond looked around at her messy room.
"It's somewhere here." muttered Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond dug around her room when the door opened and Blue Diamond appeared.
"Look at this room. It's a mess." said Blue Diamond.
"It's not that bad." replied Pink Diamond.
"It looks like a disaster area." said Blue Diamond.
Blue Diamond noticed Pearl.
"How could let someone see this mess?!" asked Blue Diamond horrified.
Pink Diamond rolled her eyes.
"Will hurt the reputation of the family if my room is little messy?" asked Pink Diamond.
"This is not a little messy Pink." answered Blue Diamond.
"What's going on?" asked another voice.
Pearl knew the voice and Yellow Diamond appeared.
"You actually brought someone over when you room is a dump!" exclaimed Yellow Diamond horrified.
Pink Diamond groaned and continued looking for the movie.
"Don't ignore me!" snapped Yellow Diamond.
Pearl watched very uneasy.
"It's fine." groaned Pink Diamond.
Yellow Diamond grabbed Pink by the wrist and yanked her up.
"You're hurting me." said Pink Diamond.
"Maybe'll I actually get through." said Yellow Diamond.
"Yellow..." began Blue Diamond.
Blue Diamond motioned to Pearl.
"You need to leave now." said Yellow Diamond firmly.
Pearl silently got up and left. As she did so, Pearl could hear the Diamonds talking.
"Pink, do you realize how much it humiliates the family when you pull stunts like this?" asked Yellow angrily.
"I'm not a little kid!" declared Pink.
"You're behavior says otherwise." mused Blue Diamond.
Pink Diamond stamped her foot.
"I'm just as important as you!" exclaimed Pink.
"Then why don't you act like it...Pink." said Yellow Diamond.
A worried Pearl went home. She waited and waited, but didn't hear from Pink Diamond. Pearl finally heard from Pink Diamond the next morning saying she was fine. The two went out for lunch at a local eatery. Pink Diamond was waiting when Pearl arrived. They sat down and ordered their food. They made idle chit - chat until the food came.
"So...what happened when I left?" asked Pearl worried.
"My sister scolded me for a while." answered Pink Diamond flatly.
Pink Diamond chuckled flatly.
"They then grounded me for the night." added Pink Diamond.
"But, you're an adult." noted Pearl.
"That doesn't mean much to them." said Pink Diamond bitterly.
Pink Diamond grounded annoyed.
"Do you think I act too childish?" asked Pink Diamond.
Pearl blushed.
"I think you're perfect." answered Pearl.
"Thanks." said Pink Diamond.
Pearl felt like she would melt.
"I wish my sisters could see that." said Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond hung her head.
"They're never going to change." said Pink Diamond sadly.
Pearl reached out holding Pink's hands.
"I'm sure they will." said Pearl.
"Well, I appreciate it, but I don't think so." said Pink Diamond.
They looked at each other.
"Um Pearl..." began Pink Diamond.
"What?" asked Pearl.
"You're still holding my hands." answered Pink Diamond.
Pearl let out of Pink's hands.
"If only there was a way out of all this." sighed Pink Diamond.
"Well...it's not like you can fake your death." shrugged Pearl.
"That's it!" exclaimed Pink Diamond.
Pearl was confused.
"I'll fake my death." said Pink Diamond.
Pearl didn't know how exactly she should approach this.
"Maybe...you should..." began Pearl.
"You know my alternate persona?" asked Pink Diamond excited.
"Rose Quartz." answered Pearl.
"Right now I use her to escape my boring life. But, I could fake my death and become her full time." explained Pink Diamond.
Now, Pink Diamond was giddy.
"I know how we can get a gun. There's an old Colt Cobra revolver in the attic. It belonged to my father. We could use that." continued Pink Diamond.
By now, Pearl didn't know how to respond.
"Of course, you'll have to shoot me." said Pink Diamond.
"What?!" asked Pearl horrified.
People around began looking at her.
"It's nothing." said Pink Diamond.
Luckily, most people didn't care and went right back to doing their own thing.
"I'm not going to shoot you." said Pearl.
"He used blanks for target practice. You'll shoot me with a blank and make it look like I was killed." said Pink Diamond.
"Oh God." groaned Pearl.
Pink Diamond took Pearl's hand in her own.
"Please help me with this." begged Pink Diamond.
"I..." began Pearl.
Any objection died as Pearl looked into the eyes of the woman she loved.
"I'll do it." agreed Pearl.
"This'll be great." squealed Pink Diamond in delight.
The two ate and talked for a bit before they had to part ways. It was only then that the gravity of what she had agreed to hit Pearl.
"What the hell did I agree to?" asked Pearl horrified.
A few nights later, Pearl found herself alone in the park. It was late and Ocean Town was cloaked in blackness. Pearl anxiously paced back and forth waiting for Pink Diamond to arrive. Pearl had tried to convince herself to tell Pink Diamond to cancel this plan. However, Pearl found herself unable to do this. Finally, she was an excited Pink Diamond coming over to her.
"I can't wait." said Pink Diamond.
"So...what exactly are we going to do?" asked Pearl.
"You're going to shoot me and we'll blame it on a botched robber." answered Pink Diamond.
"If I shoot you then my prints will be on the gun." noted Pearl.
"That's why I got these." said Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond gave Pearl a pair of cheap, black gloves.
"Wear those and then ditch them before the police show." said Pink Diamond.
"The police will know you weren't actually shot if we use blanks." said Pearl.
"I realized that and you'll have to use real bullets." replied Pink Diamond.
"No way!" I am not shooting you!" declared Pearl.
"Please." begged Pink Diamond.
"No." said pearl firmly.
"Please do it for me." begged Pink Diamond.
"Do it for her." muttered Pearl;.
Pearl shook her head.
"I can't." said Pearl upset.
"I can't exactly kill myself." noted Pink Diamond.
Pearl groaned.
"I'll get shot and say I died from internal bleeding or something." said Pink Diamond.
"How exactly will you get away?" asked Pearl.
Pink Diamond pulled out a large sum of money.
"Bribery. One lesson I learned is bribing people works if know who to bribe." answered Pink Diamond.
"Oh man." sighed Pearl.
Pink Diamond looked around.
"Let's do it." said Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond ushered Pearl along.
"Am I really doing this?" asked Pearl to herself.
The two slipped over a secluded area where there where less likely to be people.
"This should do." said Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond pulled out the revolver using a napkin.
"I cleaned my prints off before leaving." noted Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond held out the gun.
"Put the gloves on." said Pink Diamond
Pearl nervously obeyed.
"Great. Now take it." said Pink Diamond.
Pearl took the revolver.
"Remember, I was shot during a botched robbery." said Pink Diamond.
"The police will ask for a suspect." noted Pearl.
Pink Diamond scratched her head.
"Tell them he was dressed in black so we couldn't get a good look at him." said Pink Diamond.
"And where we out here." said Pearl.
"You know why." answered Pink Diamond confused.
"I mean...what do I tell the police." explained Pearl.
Pink Diamond chuckled.
"Sorry." said Pink Diamond blushing.
Pink Diamond racked her brain for a quick answer.
"We where spending the day together and we wound up here." answered Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond braced herself as Pearl took aim with shaky hands.
"Pearl, you need to straighten your hands." said Pink Diamond.
Pearl took several deep breath and managed to aim straight.
"I'm ready." whispered Pink Diamond.
"God forgive me for what I'm about to do." whispered Pearl.
Pearl squeezed the trigger and fired shooting Pink Diamond who collapsed onto the ground.
"What have I done?" asked Pearl horrified.
Pearl finished her story. She used Pink's phone to call 911 which is why she was so hesitant about getting a cell phone. The medics and police arrived. The medics brought Pink Diamond to the hospital while the police got Pearl's "story" of what happened. Pink's bribery worked as Pink Diamond was declared dead from her gunshots wound and the police investigation went cold. Garnet, Amethyst, Peridot, Lapis and Sheena where dumbstruck as Pearl finished.
"That's that." said Pearl.
It took a minute before anyone spoke.
"So Pink Diamond was miserable and you helped her fake her death after you jokingly suggested it." said Amethyst.
"Is that why they Diamonds hates you?" asked Lapis.
"I went to the funeral, but Dean Diamond made it cleared she blamed me for what happened." explained Pearl.
"Why?" asked Peridot confused.
"They looked down on me." answered Pearl.
"That sucks." said Lapis bluntly.
"I learned to accept it." shrugged Pearl.
Pearl chuckled a bit.
"It's nice to finally tell someone. I've been keeping this a secret for so long." said Pearl.
"I could imagine." replied Sheena.
Garnet stood up and quietly walked to her room.
"That can't be good." mused Pearl worried.
A/N: That's where we'll end things. So the truth came out about Pink Diamond and that was a voice actor joke. After nearly three years, I am nearly caught up which means updates will slow down soon. Just a warning. Next time, the fallout of this. Please review.
