A.N: Whoops! I got distracted by the Oscars, but i'm here now. My bros, gals, and pals all around! They fricken teased John Diggle Green Lantern in the last episode of Arrow! I was already crying with all the Arrow series finale emotions but that Green Lantern tease made me scream!
twilightnite13: Hmmm you could possibly say that maybe the case. And perhaps he needs to get rid of some obstacles, or aquire something, to get to that point? But I could also possibly be spinning canon a teensy bit to keep things fresh? In the end I can't spoil too much but I know what you mean.

Episode 23: Final Summons part 2
Another ship soon docked onto the main landing platform of Oa. Betrasians walked down the ramp that opened from the side of the ship. All men wearing armor and holding spears. They soon parted way to allow their queen to walk down and join them. She raised her right hand to show her green lantern ring. It glowed bright and soon her dress was replaced with a Green Lantern uniform. She said to the ring, "Inform Hal Jordan we arrived."
Instead of the ring responding though, Hal's voice was heard saying, "Heard you loud and clear. Good to see you, Iolande." The queen smiled, looking up to see Hal Jordan fly by overhead. "Thank you for coming."
Hal didn't stay for a chat. He landed on the roof of the dormitory, even though he could have just landed on the floor he needed to be on. It was an open walkway with only a short railing lining the edge. He needed time though to think of what to say when he got to the room he was looking for.
Lillian was clear. Let Mary know that when she was ready, she could talk to him. No pressure. Just an ear to hear. Simple as that right? Then why was he so nervous? Was it because Mary was nervous?
Once he made it outside the door to Mary's room, he heard words being exchanged inside. Muffled but he recognized the tones and speech. Cody and Vivian were with her. Well, if there was any Brightside to this, it was that Mary was at least confiding in someone. It hurt Hal though that it wasn't him.
The Green Lantern knocked on the door, the conversation happening on the other side ceasing immediately. There was a lengthy pause before the door slid open. Cody and Vivian stood there with Mary sitting on the edge of her bed. The green lantern girl looked nervous as hell. Hal kept on a brave face as he said to Cody and Vivian, "Thanks for being here, you guys. I think you should take this time to call your families."
Cody rubbed the back of his neck as he gave a sheepish smile. "I already did. Safe to say as much as they're worried, they're also betting on everything turning out fine as it did with Aya-monitor."
"Easy for you to say," Vivian cut in. "My parents were so freaked out, they wouldn't stop hugging me for a solid ten minutes before I left."
As Vivian walked past Hal, Cody looked back to Mary. She had her eyes to the ground since Hal walked in. The boy quickly hurried back to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "You've got this." Mary looked up as her eyes widened for a second. Not in surprise, but as if she were remembering something.
She then smiled and grabbed Cody around the neck to pull him into a quick hug. "Thanks."
Cody turned to beat red as she let go. She couldn't help but giggle a little seeing him turn around and try and cover his face as he left the room. Hal tussled the boy's hair as he walked past him before closing the door behind him. Only Hal and Mary were in the room now.
Mary became nervous again, her feet tapping the ground quickly and her fingers fiddling together. She didn't look up at him. It looked almost as if she couldn't. Hal tried to reassure her as he walked to her bed, "Hey, whatever you have to talk to me about, you don't have to worry. I won't judge."
As Hal sat on the bed next to Mary, the girl stopped tapping the ground and fiddling with her fingers. Instead, she hunched over more to keep from looking up. To keep the mood light, Hal said jokingly, "I mean, I can if you want. Though it's not my style,"
It didn't work. Mary just stayed looking away unmoving. "Hal… I… I know something. I saw something…." She took a shaky breath before almost whispering, "… in a vision." Hal figured that as well. But since a joke earlier didn't help, he just waited to hear what Mary had to say. After all, since her visions were always about something that happened in the past, then she would need help interpreting them to the present. Then she said, "I had my first vision about the future."
That finally got Hal to frown. She had her first look into the future and that's why she's been so nervous around him. Why had she held back for so long? It wasn't good to hold back such baggage. Mary of all people should know that. Hal put a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Mary, this is big." Hal began. "It's the final step to being a Sighter. It's a lot to take in and a lot to interpret." Then Hal remembered what Lillian said. "But just know… I'll help you in any way I can. I'll even just… sit here and listen. I'm good at that."
She didn't speak right away but when she did Hal felt his skin crawl. "Hal… I saw you… and I saw you…" Mary's hands slowly moved up her arms as if she were hugging herself for comfort. "I saw you…" Whatever it was must have been terrible, that much Hal figured out. She wouldn't be acting like this, on the verge of secluding herself completely from him, if it wasn't traumatizing.
Hal reached out to Mary and pulled her into a hug. She didn't return it. She was stiff as stone. Even though Hal didn't know exactly what Mary saw, the man knew something awful was going to happen to him. He didn't want to admit it out loud that he was a bit worried for himself. It was probably for that reason Mary didn't want to tell him in the first place. That it would be too much for him to handle when there was a battle about to come.
As much as that might be true, he wasn't going to let her feel burdened. Hal wanted to acknowledged Mary for speaking up. After all, Hal was good at seeing another angle to a situation. That included visions. "According to Ganthet, visions are never wrong. But they can be misinterpreted," Hal assured Mary.
Hal could feel her body loosen up but not in relaxation. She didn't pull away but she looked up with terror, "Hal, you die! Don't you understand? I saw Nekron kill you clear as day I—" she covered her mouth and hid her face buy almost burying it in Hal's chest.
Hal kept his hug around her but didn't say anything right away. Ok so even though he had an idea that death was what she saw, he didn't expect her to be so certain about it. And to be killed by Nekron. A being they were probably going to fight very soon. Hal was starting to get nervous, more then he had already been. But no, no there were always times when he was probably faced with the end and he never once wavered. He wasn't going to let this be any different. Especially for Mary.
He pulled her away from him so that she could look at him as he said confidently, "Hey, hey. You know me. It takes more to kill me. I've come out of worse situations then Nekron."
Mary pondered. She started to remember all the times the Interceptor crew Hal had been hurt or killed only to be proven completely wrong. Hal had a point here but she remembered what Galia said. Mary had to be prepared for the inevitable. As much as she appreciated Hal for trying to make these visions easier for her to handle, she couldn't help but look at Hal at the moment as if it were the last time. She finally hugged him back, resting her head against his chest and said, "I love you, Hal."
Hal sighed. He knew she said that as an acceptance of the absolute power of her vision. He didn't like that she doubted him but he was, surprisingly, more thankful she had. Because as much as Hal believed he would come out alive as a way for him, he knew he was still human. This was the result of war. Not everyone comes out alive. "I love you too, Mary." He said in return as he hugged her closer than before.
Hal wanted Mary to be prepared for what was to come and not leave her a mess of emotions if his time finally came. She would be stronger that way. Hal felt his heartache in fear for his life but swell with pride more with the fact that the orphan girl he took in long ago was really growing up.
There sat there for a long time until Hal pulled away to say, "Hey, you know what will make you feel better? That weird food in the cafeteria that tastes like mint ice cream."
"Right now?" Mary asked surprised.
"We've got time."
Suddenly, Hal's ring began to flash. Killowag's voice was heard through the ring. "Hal, scouts from sector 48 just reported in. They're coming."
Hal and Mary each gave each other somber, knowing looks. Hal tried to lighten the mood again and said sheepishly, "The universe just loves to mess with me."
Mary knew what he was trying to do but instead of laughing or getting annoyed, she said a bit sarcastically, "You make it too easy."
Fortunately it wasn't all chaos around Oa, but things started to move rather quickly. Every Lantern group was now organizing themselves just outside Oa's atmosphere. They and their leaders were to be the first line of defense since combined energies were the only way to stop Black Lanterns. A few lanterns of different colors, though, were assigned to stay just within Oa's atmosphere in case any got through. Steam Lantern and his crew were to help. That left those without a ring. The last line of defense along with some who did have a ring. They were stationed either on the ground levels of Oa or at every entrance of the Guardian's citadel.
Now they all waited for what was to come. Everyone's rings blinked. The automatic voice saying, "Threat approaching. Sector 23."
"He's moving fast," Razer said from behind Hal.
"Yeah… but we're more than ready now," Hal said as he focused on the star-filled skies ahead. He gave a quick shake of his shoulders to get them loose. He was ready. He had to be. The universe counted on it. Everyone counted on his word in this. He was afraid, but he was ready to face it. This was why he was a Green Lantern. And why he had lasted this long. This was just another day at work.
To keep himself occupied he asked John who was next to Razer, "What's the word on the League?"
"If all else fails here," John answered, "They'll be Earth's last line of defense."
From Hal's left, Mary added, "The Team will also be standing by on Earth as well."
Hearing Mary speak, Hal's eyes darted to the side quickly to see how the girl was. She was just like him. Body ready to go, but the look on her eyes showing she was nervous, too. Hal winced and looked back to face front. He didn't want to doubt her, but in order to keep a level head, he had to believe that Mary didn't predict the vision right. Everything was going to be fine. Right?
"Threat closing. Sector 15."
Boy, did Hal need a good sign right now?
"Fellow Lantern, Hal Jordon," Came a low, slow to speak, voice through Hals ring. Razer looked in Saint Walker's direction and the Blue Lantern smiled. The voice continued, "I have brought the reinforcements you've requested.
Instead of facing forward, all the lanterns looked to the left seeing something small in the distance become bigger, and bigger as it got closer. Mouths fell open. Those who didn't know why a giant planet was suddenly coming towards Oa looked to each other in question. Green Lanterns began to cheer seeing one of their own come. Mogo was here, and he brought friends.
Ships of different shapes and sizes flew alongside the giant green lantern. All looking to be made of scraps of different ships. Razer was the one to smile now. He got his ring to connect with the communications of the ships, honing in on the lead fighter. "B-0, I'm thankful you and your followers joined our cause."
"Races were a good idea, but we are what you Organics say… peckish for a little action," the former military droid replied in response. Though I was surprised to hear criminals were also part of this crusade."
Mary chimed in on the conversation by patching herself and the others into another communication line. "I think he's talking about your inmates, Goggan."
On Mogo's surface, sitting on top of a small grassy hill, the little one-eyed octopus creature held a small communicator in hand to say. "Goggan take no offense." He then looked down at the bottom of the hill to see all the criminals he had Mogo bring from the asteroid prison.
One would expect them to be angry for being part f a fight that wasn't their own. But by the way they held their weapons ready and cheered, the ex-criminals looked ready to fight as well. Goggan finished with, "Goggan happy he no fight and they do."
Mary laughed, looking up at Hal. The Green Lantern smiled. This was just the sign he needed. And perfect timing, too. Because the automatic voice came on everyone's rings and said, "Threat closing. Sector 1."
Everyone looked back to what was in front of them. The stars in the sky started to look like they were blinking or fading in and out. Like a dark blanket was moving in front of the stars and making them look as if they were disappearing. "This is it, everyone," Hal yelled out. He looked right and left, at every leader of the different Corps. Some smiled, and those who were indifferent just gave a nod. Hal looked behind him. At his friends and fellow lanterns. All rings were lighting up.
This was it. As soon as Hal was able to pick out from the mass of a black the distinct form of a Black Lantern, he yelled out, "Give it all you got!"
A.N: I end the chapter here because the next chapter there is going to be a lot, and I mean a lot of fighting! And yes, I am bringing everyone to the party. I really wanted to bring closure to how the show started with all these new characters that the show creators came up with as well as the ones I came up with. I wanted to do so in a way to see how far they've come from making enemies into friends. To do so, I went all the way back to even Goggan because I miss him XD. Anyway, get ready for some epic fights in two weeks. I'm KikaKatTIOI, peace out!
