HAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry. Not an update. Nope, not at all! Today I got my 99th review and to celebrate; I wrote this to you all! The origins of Sonder!
It started off with Kimura Akemi.
Would you believe it if I told you that Kimura Akemi, Kimura Suzumi, Kimura Kōki, Ueno Hibiki, and Seiba Hiroi are based of living, breathing people? Hiroi is actually based off a classmate (and friend) of mine, while Hibiki is based off my best friend ever— you can call us platonic soul mate actually— and Akemi, is based off myself.
Of course, I amplified a lot of things and did a lot other alterations— mine and my BFF's relationship with our father are very strained and tense, but it is by no way as severe as it is in the story. (I mean, the kicking down the stairs thing only happened once, and that was partially an accident because I cursed at him :-P) And yeah. My friend's dad does stalk her, so... Welp.
I also enhanced a lot of my other abilities, and added skills to create Akemi. I mean, compared to my peers I am good at English, writing especially, but I live in a non-English speaking country so meh. And yeah, I'm good at art and drawing. In fact I'm working on the official character sketches and cover image for Sonder right now. I'm only interested in ice skating and psychology, and no. I'm by no way any good at hand-to-hand combat.
However, Akemi's personality is completely based on me. I am lazy, a rebel, stubborn and a little loony. I like memes, I make weird noises, and writes 24/7. I do love doing my hair, and I know a lot about it, but I don't have the patient to do so, so I just do it for my sister.
Hibiki however, wasn't changed much. Cadence (let's call her that for now, I'd like to keep our privacy) is a wonderful girl. She saved me from self-harming and my suicidal thoughts, she bought me to my friends and all in all, well, like Akemi is alive and well and laughing because of Hibiki, I'm alive and well and laughing because of her. She is a little crazy, a little weird, whines a lot, sucks at English and Maths, and studies biology. Her mum works in the medical field, and her dad's a massive jerk.
So all in all, Akemi and Hibiki have personalities moulded after mine and Cadence's and backgrounds and skills based off ours.
I really do have a sister, and that would be Kōki. Kōki in Japanese means light, and so does my sister's name. In fact, both Akemi, Hiroi and Hibiki's names are based off who they were based off of. My real name contains the meaning of light, beauty and earth, so Kimura Akemi, whose name means village of the woods and bright beauty, is a echo to it. Hibiki means rhythm, so Cadence. And it's the same with Hiroi, whose name means cold leaves and brilliance.
My sister, let's call her Lucy for now, is a master at martial arts. Believe me, she can beat me into a plup if she wanted. And she's got this deadpan tone and freaky mind reading ability so that's why I gave her this quirk.
I created them at first just for fun, to share with my friends and then as I was trying to create a character based on my other friend, let's call him... Amatsu, and I got someone almost identical to Iida Tenya.
And so, purely for laughs, I wrote Sonder.
It was written on the side of my Maths homework (imagine my teacher's face lol) at first, and then later it got serious and I started typing it out, then after about twenty to thirty chapters, I made this official, and during IT duty at my school's sports day (which means copy and pasting the results with Ipads, it's so borning), I published the first chapter of Sonder.
It was purely for fun at first. I never thought I'd get so serious with this thing! It's amazing, and I plan on keep going until BnHA is finished, so you can expect regular updates unless emergencies. (I was forced to stop updating my first fanfic because I got in a car crash three years ago. And yes. The car crash was real.)
