Episode 10: The Highway In The Plains!
Part 4b: Afternoon Hours!
With the good-ish people from Bygone...gone, there's still a lot of words being thrown around and a whole lot of discussion with some epic anger!
The first true chapter of the year, baby...which also ends the episode with some characters being themselves (Was supposed to be the last chapter of 2019, but you know how things go)
Though it was later, that didn't mean that the race didn't really impact some of the teams in very notable ways, as losing in the losers' semi-finals was a little bit of a strong finish.
Even if it wasn't worth that much, the determination of some of the teams were ridiculously strong for no apparent reason, especially since the sun was just going down and there was all kinds of journalists that had their interview done.
Aside from Soar actually being a journalist, the teams that were actually were pretty unique personalities.
"Alright, it's about to get a little bit funky in here."
Sonic was very much one of them, as he was probably the most notable...not even by that much, as the rest of the teams that were in this race were not exactly stars.
"Hold on, we've got nothing to be funky about!" Tails exclaimed, trying to get his stuff to work it properly.
"Yeah, Tails, but I've got a good celebration dance and I wanted to show you it." Sonic proclaimed, ready to throw some weak punches like it was a dance.
"I dunno we're very much not in the clear, because everyone's just generally better than last time. Also, I have a hunch that you don't have it nailed down."
"There's more people than last time, I would expect some great newcomers. Would suck if there wasn't any."
"Yeah, too true."
While the echidna wasn't talking that much...owing to the fact that he wasn't really included in the conversation and didn't mind it, he did notice something weird with some teams.
Actually, Team Babylon was definitely going towards the almost winning team with some of the most smug grin that they've had in a while.
"Seriously, why are those birds here? I'm going to assume that they're here to mock us some more."
Sonic and Tails were a little bit distracted by their racing discussion, both of them holding the tools that they needed to get their Gears tuned and Jet saw an opportunity.
An opportunity to throw some more good insults their way.
"Hey, good job out there. But, you only did a good job." Jet said. "I owned the racetrack, heck, we owned the racetrack, so what's wrong?"
"I got second place, still feelin' pretty good and I personally thought we did great!" Sonic replied with a grin.
"Hey, I remember you saying that you're going to beat us...incredibly so and it's wasn't even that long ago."
"I said it...before this actually got started, so I dunno what else you're talking about? Unless it's about when I said that I'm better than you."
"Look, I don't care, I'm just surprise that your fox friend was just being mediocre considering that you two clearly could keep up."
"That's none of your business, though."
"Yeah, it's all of my business right now!"
Sonic and Jet was just pretty deep into the arguing moment, as the two of them were angrily sharing their own problems and Tails was getting his game face on for when Wave walked up to him.
The purple swallow was just judging the young yellow fox's EG technology and parts, looking through the well-designed stuff and the somewhat poorly-designed parts and then at the fox himself.
"The things that you make are definitely better the way you ride. Considering that you've actually nailed it before, I'm surprised that you failed compared to what you've done."
"When you've got other team that are trying to sabotage us and yes, there's definitely some sabotage going on!" Tails exclaimed.
"True, but you should be able to get past that and it's actually easy to beat anyone with that kind of dumb move."
"Why are you acting like you've got third place, when you've got sixth, so there should really be no reason to be acting like that aside from being part of a winning team!"
"You shouldn't get offended by that kind of comment, because you've easily got the capability to do that much better."
"Just saying, I did the best that I could and can you please let me work on improving my stuff!"
"Of course, but I'll be there to make sure that actually do that and not coast."
Wave's smug grin was just making Tails a little bit uncomfortable with her grin, as the two of them were more than determined to make it back in the next racing round and she stepped back with her leaning back dramatic.
Knuckles and Storm were just sharing their own glares, making it known that they weren't scared of each other at all.
"You wanna run it back at winners' finals?" Storm asked.
"Yeah and you can bet on us winning!"
Both teams just stepped back from each other and brung their game faces to each other, more than ready to bring some good payback in the winners' finals.
"Hey, bring your A-game next time, because there's less teams and it'd be pretty boring to have grand finals without you, Sonic and...his lame friend."
"Don't worry, I'm here to win and have a fun time and I'll do both as fast as I can, so that you can have a good time."
Sonic and Jet finally parted ways with some mean looks, as both teams were more than happy to leave it at that and Knuckles just basically put an understanding arm on his team leader's shoulder.
That being said, some others were in a bit of a dumb situation, as being the eliminated team in the semi-final AKA the third round didn't exactly mean that they weren't going to be missed.
So what was really dumb about said situation, was while their fans were pretty content with making into winners' semi-final, some others were...being idiots.
It was several hours after the ceremony and one and a half hours after the interview even and the sun easily reflect, as it was going down.
"I can't believe that you guys would just do this." Sticks just growled at the hidden assailant. "Attempt to move the robot apocalypse along with your dumb moves and messing up the robbery!"
"Wait, I don't even get it! But you're gonna get hit!" Perci exclaimed, ready to throw down with her fists.
The mysterious assailants didn't hide behind anything that wouldn't make them incredibly obvious to everyone and some of them were notable complainers.
"Show yourselves, you conspirators!"
Sticks was just looking towards the frustrated thieves, who didn't exactly look familiar to her.
"I told you that it wasn't going to work, but you just like to make problems obvious!" The short green creature complained.
"And I told that I don't apologise for doing what I do best?" The tall purple demon lookalike said proudly.
They were actually two of the more notable members of the Zeti, specifically the short green Zeti with long hair was named Zeena and the tall purple Zeti with a mohawk was named Zazz.
"Why do you guys look like that and look like fools? Why did you rob us?"
Soar didn't exactly have the greatest questions for the two of them, as they were willing to wait and answer them.
"Oh, shoot. Good tech is good tech, anyways. Also, big bird guy, you're the real fool." Zeena didn't exactly have patience for dumb questions.
"Yeah, Zeena. Let's blow this joint and do nothing for about a week, because we're coming in next year!"
"Okay, I don't know why you said that."
"Because they don't care about us and if they don't care, they're gonna suck!"
With the Zeti actually scaring the bird journalist, Sticks and Perci were just ready to throw down with the Zeti in the middle of the village and this time, it wasn't really worth the fight...as the lilac bandicoot and the orange jungle badger just basically tried something else.
Zazz just ran in on the official contestants and more specifically, Perci, who was just carrying some of the Extreme Gear parts like it was no big deal and Soar was ready to block his friend.
"Can I-"
Soar couldn't really finish saying that, as Zazz just pushed him aside quite easily and got easily knocked down by Perci just flipping the Zeti over.
Soar was a bird that wasn't about to keep fighting when he really couldn't, but neither could Zazz at this point and Zeena was spooked by the counter grab.
"You can't just steal stuff, because the robots are about to take over! Sentient ones mind you!" Sticks shouted.
The Zeti were just a little bit shocked at what the girl members were actually packing and both Zeena and Zazz were just growling angrily.
"Trust me, we'll be in next year!" Zazz shouted, as he ran away. "And we'll have our own stuff!"
"Gee, thanks. It's not like I came up with it!" Zeena complained.
With that fight over, Team Bygone got a lot of cheers from the fans that were actually from said home villages and they were easily outnumbered by the fans that actually came from different Zones and all around the world.
"Well, don't rob or you're going to get flipped." Perci crossed her arms.
There may have been more stuff happening, but the race was already over and so was a good majority of the drama that just happened with two teams heading into the winners' finals and causing trouble and a third heading into the losers' finals with some unexpected challenges.
In the next three weeks(in the speedy animals' worlds, cities and islands), six teams are battling in two more matches to see who really deserves to be in the grand finals with the losers' final containing The Nega Villains, Team Dark and The Lightning Botls and the winners' final containing The Speed Heroes, The Babylon Riders and The Chaotix Crew.
For the real world readers, I suspect that you're going to get these two and the grand final this year.
To be continued in the winners' final, where a seemingly simple oval hides some scary corners and speed tricks, as it is one of the longer and tougher tracks and no-one's ready to even address the drama!
Will The Speed Heroes and The Babylon Riders actually have to battle to stay in the Grand Prix or is The Chaotix Crew truly screwed by the odds!
Team Chaotix has to beat one of the original World Grand Prix teams is more important than ever to survive and it is coming very soon!
Anyways, the tenth major chapter is finally over and the eleventh one should start soon!
