Rough Sonic Riders!
Episode 11: Extreme Grass Gear!
Part 1a: Parking The Grass!
The winners' final is finally happening and the top three teams in the competition are up against each other! Though the race is coming later, the teams are already feeling the pressure!
Wherever they're dealing with it or not, these three are up to be against each other pretty soon!
By the way, I don't own any of these characters, SEGA does and for some of these characters, someone else also owns them!
It was that time of year again, where people get really excited for something that may or may not be an obvious result and the Chaotix has a lot on their side...both in detective skills and riding skills.
Even with the two most talented teams in a Grand Prix basically sandwiched besides them, Espio, Charmy and Vector were just ready to make their best effort count.
The winners' final was about to start soon and there was a lot of bad omens leading against them and none of them were actually believing those omens.
Because these omens were able to beaten with enough skills and enough Extreme Gear riding and flying through the simply tough course.
"Wow, this is just going to be super hard for no reason. It's like those guys hate us." Charmy just said, probably intimidated.
"We don't quit. We proceed on with the impossible." Espio calmly stated.
"Yeah, how else do we take on the big jobs and make them work!" Vector boasted.
"That's what we do!"
With their good graces in check and their gear worked pretty well for the most part in this very modern, almost futuristic, city of wide roads, clean cars and more culturally appropriate mixes of old cultures.
"Look, Charmy-"
"We're at the top of our game. Sonic's about to get beaten!" Charmy was in a really good mood.
"Calm your nerves, because the likelihood of beating Team Sonic is still very low. We need the right technique and mindset to achieve that." Espio kept himself in the proper mindspace.
"Come on, we're already ready to prove ourselves!" Charmy fired back.
"Look, Charmy, it's definitely possible, but it's far from easy. Those guys are kinda ridiculous at riding Extreme Gear!" Vector exclaimed, as the crocodile was trying to calm Charmy down. "It ain't going to be cakewalk."
"If we can beat Shadow, that team isn't much of a problem."
"I hate to say it, but we're up against some insane chances. We've gotta give it our all!" Vector proclaimed.
"That is not a very profound conclusion, but it is the one we need." Espio just concluded. "The conclusion is obvious."
The bee was just more encouraged to do his best, as the chameleon and the crocodile was more than down to prove their worth for the fourth time, as these streets were more than ready to prove their point.
This time, though, there was a lot more that they have to understand in order to beat the best and this city was just not providing that at all.
"We need to fight our best, I'm guessing." Vector was just happy to leave it at that, as the gears were just there.
"Yes." Espio said, almost as a whisper.
Sonic, Tails and Knuckles were all not that surprised and heck, Tails was pretty much predicting things right there for everyone to see, as these three riders were not scared at all.
Besides for Team Chaotix's chances to get into the grand final, which were looking pretty low for Tails' predictions.
"These chances are low, almost absurdly low. The chance for our team to be knocked out is 1 percent and uh, those chances are being generous." Tails was plainly worried for another team.
"Dude, I beat Jet at the top of his game. It's not too far-fetched for those guys to beat us and I'm not gonna make it easy." Sonic was just in a great mood.
"Of course you wouldn't, you've gotta defend your title."
"What title, Eggman just threw two grand finals on us like it wasn't a problem! Which it still is."
Knuckles was still thinking about something important to him, because it was what was mainly making him even be here in the first place.
"You still technically won, even if there was no prize." Tails just explained with a smile.
"This is the real deal and Jet knows what's up! Tails, we're winning this for Knuckles." Sonic proclaimed.
"Yeah! Our chances are great and we'll do great in this race!" Tails also proclaimed.
"Don't worry, Knuckles! We're still in this!"
The echidna was just grumbling at the two of them cheering for him loudly.
"Yeah, I am aware, but I've got the feeling that we are not going to get off easy. If so, I don't know what's going to happen to the Master Emerald!" Knuckles told his friends worriedly. "It's not really a guarantee."
The fox and the hedgehog were more than excited at the prospect of more racing, while Knuckles was a little bit apprehensive about this race.
"That being said, Storm's going to get all of my efforts towards him. He's definitely kinda like Rouge." Knuckles let his words carry all of the anger.
"Really? I don't think that's a fitting comparison." Tails just suggested, still fixing his stuff.
"Hold up! She's a thief, he's probably a thief, it fits!" Knuckles shouted with a sudden justification for his sudden voice raise. "Look my intuition has gotten me this far in my life and it hasn't failed me."
"Come on, they're treasure hunters that play a mostly honest game! I don't think they do that kind of thievery." Tails just retorted, as Sonic was just giving a disappointing look.
"Tails, I don't like to side with Knuckles, but these guys probably have done funny business." Sonic added, as the echidna was just giving a satisfied grin. "Knuckles, who cares."
"I care! Someone made the Master Emerald a prize and those guys aren't a charity!"
"You said it, Knux. We're also in it for that...and proving that Jet's not a better rider than me." Sonic made a serious smile.
"Ditto for me. Storm's got a lot coming for him." Knuckles just showed his own fists.
As the consistently mentioned team, The Babylon Rogues were coming with some pizazz and panache that some of the other teams were lacking at the time and that panache was bringing the people to them.
Even if they weren't arriving at all, the journalists were hounding them and they were able to deal with being hounded, as Wave was working on the gear.
Jet just opened up the garage door with the most smug look that he could bring to the cameras and Storm followed that up quite easily and the cameras were good for them.
They posed like they had their chances to be in the spotlight.
"We came here to win and to show what we're made of." Jet started.
"And race like we're carrying the whole sport!" Storm proclaimed.
The birds were not out for blood, but for fame and for the sport, but the journalists were down to ask a lot more questions than that.
"Aside from winning, what else are you in for?" A female light brown lynx journalist asked among all of the other questions.
"Hold on, one at a time! I'm here to prove that Sonic's team isn't as good as us two!" Jet just answered it honestly, as the bird wasn't in to lie. "And also show everyone's what's good!"
"The more competition the better!" Storm backed his boss up.
"What do you think about all of the other teams in this competition that aren't Sonic's team?" A human male journalist also asked.
"You know, they tried their best, but they're still not on my level! Just saying facts!" Jet boasted. "Sonic's pretty close, though."
"Wait, why is Sonic so close to you?" The same guy asked.
"Isn't it simple. He beat me twice, but I'm still dominating everyone else!" Jet was just still in a boastful mood.
"We're playing for keeps this time, for the win!" Storm pretty much kept on finishing things, actually annoying Jet.
"And this is for pretty much everyone watching: How is Sonic's actual chance to stay in the competition?" The same female light brown lynx asked, coming in with a microphone for the answers.
"Unless the Chaotix pull something out of nowhere or Sonic gets sick mid-race, Sonic's getting through this round easy! No questions asked!" Jet shouted, being very animated for the camera. "If you want more questions, wait after the race that I win!"
"Yeah, that's a promise!" Storm backed his boss up, as his boss was just giving the side eye with a smile. "Anyways, Knuckles...can't beat me, it's proven!"
"One more: How's Sonic?"
"All I'm saying, he's just going to end up riding my wind in this round!" Jet just finished the interview, putting his hands towards the many cameras.
The journalists were just taking more and more pictures, as they were watching the main two members of the Babylon Rogues casually walk back into the garage with smirks.
Wave was just scoffing at her partners' attempt to be cool on the television and whatever websites that would let Jet and Storm say their things.
"Wow, impressive." Wave couldn't be less enthused. "You said the obvious."
"Sometimes, it ain't to everyone else, but it is to you! You know." Storm just had a bit of a suggestion.
"Yeah, you have a point, but it's rich coming from you!"
"You know, you think just because you know big words, it means you're better than me!"
Jet was just in the garage with a serious look, as he knew that his teammates were reliable riders and probably not the best of friends, but that didn't matter.
"Come on, we're not losing this because one of our teammates talks about stuff that no-one cares about." Jet had a bit of a smirk. "We're here to win against Sonic once again!"
"I don't think that the blue blur and the emerald guardian are out of the running to beat us, but shorty's lacking." Wave made a comment, while finishing up the gear turning.
"Yeah, I'm glad that Knucklehead's being good and not sucking! Otherwise, it's too easy!" Storm was just throwing some punches.
"I know that. I hope that Sonic's prepared to do his best, because I'll always do the same...on here
With these two just having a bit of argument between each other about not that much, there was not that much of a serious conversation between the Rogues.
To be continued in Part 1b, which is coming soon with some more of these three trios and especially since there was a lot of riding on one of these trios!
Espio, Charmy and Vector have a long way to pull it off, but there's always enough for a strategy!
