Chapter 111: The Capital of Despair Heartland
Yugo Jack and Masumi were currently walking through the destroyed city of Heartland and Yugi was trying to call Yuzu with his duel disk but he didn't have any luck so sighed in frustration as he couldn't reach his best friend and crush at the moment.
"Still can't reach Yuzu Yugo?" Masami asked the blue and blonde haired boy.
"No still no luck so far" Yugo said.
"Shun and Masumi still haven't come back with the resistance yet" Masumi said.
"This is terrible the whole city is destroyed and academia did this for dueling unforgivable and to think they were going to do this to the city" Jack said.
"I agree this is more horrible then I imagine now I can understand why Shun is the way he is today not to mention they are doing this with the summoning method I take pride in" Masumi said.
"Yeah we will stop Academia but for now we should find any survivors they might have some information about the resistance and where they currently are" Yugo said..
Jack looked on ahead as he saw something "well it looks like we don't have to search for long look over there" Jack said as he pointed over at a certain direction..
Yugo and the others looked and they went and saw a woman who was filling up a box with water at a destroyed water fountain.
"Good eye Jack maybe she might know something about the resistance hey excuse me!" Yugo said as he called out to the lady.
The lady turned to look at them and they ran up to her but once she saw Yugo duel disk she then turned around and ran leaving her food and water behind.
"Wait hold on we just wanted some...answers" Yugo said as he looked and saw the food and water canteen.
A couple minutes later Yugo Masumi and Jack were carrying the basket of food and canteen of water and they were looking for the lady that ran away from them.
"Jeez I wonder why she ran away like that" Yugo said.
"Well its probably obvious that she thought we were part of academia it doesn't help that we have our duel disk strapped around our risk" Masumi said.
"That's true its as if the sight of a duel disk makes them even more scared and afraid' Jack said.
"Yeah regardless we still need to return this to her and convince her we mean no harm and we're not apart of academia" Yugo said.
"Stop please!" someone shouted causing Yugo and the others to see a guy running and falling into the ground.
"I'm begging you" the person yelled as a purple light enveloped over him and he disappeared shocking Yugo Jack and Masumi.
"No that was a person" Yugo said as he Jack and Masumi saw three academia students and one of them was carrying a card of the man inside of it.
"Academia" Yugo said.
A couple of minutes later Jack Yugo and Masumi were at the same spot those soldiers were.
"That was terrible no wonder you guys came to the synchro dimension for our help" Jack said.
"No!" somebody said.
"No dad don't go!" a boy said as the group turned and they saw the voice was coming from a ruined building.
"Shh be quiet be quiet!" a voice that was a woman said Yugo Jack and Masumi went towards the building and Yugo opened the door and he was greeted to the sight of that same woman and he guessed that must be her kids.
"Stay away I'm begging you please spare my children!" the woman yelled.
"You got it all wrong ma'am we didn't come here to do you harm" Yugo gently said.
We're just here to bring this food you dropped earlier back" Jack said but he could tell the woman was still afraid of them.
"So please take it" Yugo said as he grab the food and tried to give it to the lady and her children.
"I'm begging you please!" the woman said as Masumi Jack and Yugo looked at each other.
They then knelt down and took off their duel disk and slid them towards the ground at the woman and her children.
"As you can see we won't do you any harm you can trust us so please calm down" Masumi said.
"There no need to hesitate this is your food after all you all must be hungry" Jack said as he knew how these people feel because there was a time he was a ophran and he didn't have a place to sleep nor eat when he was a common back in the city.
"Here" Yugo said as he slid the food a little bit.
"Food!" the boy said as he wan to get the food and he grabbed a can and started biting on it.
"Stop come back!" the woman said to her child and Yugo reach out his hand.
"Stop!" the woman said as Yugo grabbed the can from the boy and he opened it and he gave it to the boy.
"Here you go kid" Yugo said as he gave the can of food to the boy.
The boy then began to eat the food and a couple of minutes later the woman knew she could trust Yugo and the others so she let them in the house and it wasn't long until the children was eating their food.
"If you people aren't with Academia then why are you here?" the woman asked.
"We're actually looking for our friend for the most part her name is Yuzu Higari she the same age as us and has a bracelet on her right hand" Yugo said.
"Have you seen anyone like that" Masumi asked the woman.
"No there aren't any young people like that anymore everybody has been turned into cards" the woman replied.
"Ok well my next question what happen to the resistance" Yugo said as Yugo appeared next to him in spirit from.
"Shouldn't the resistance be here fighting against Academia in Heartland" Yugo asked.
"The Resistance" the woman said as she was about to them what happen to the Resistance.
Meanwhile with Shun and Vale were standing in front of a destroyed building and the two of them remember the days they were attacked by Academia the two of them went inside the building and they made it inside a classroom and they looked and saw a destroyed duel disk on the ground.
"No this can't be they can't be gone in a short amount of time since I'm been gone" Vale said as she gritted her teeth and clinched her fist in frustration.
"It would seem so they all must have been wiped out by Academia" Shun said as he knelt down and looked at the destroyed duel disk.
Meanwhile back with the woman she was telling Yugo group about what happened to the Resistance.
"The Resistance has been gone for some time I'm certain they've all been wiped out" the woman said shocking Yugo and the others including Yugo.
"No it can't be" Yugo said he lowered his head.
"Just like my husband these boys father right in front of our very eyes" she said as she tried to keep her self from crying while the boys had concern looks on their faces.
"All of this because of dueling" the woman said.
Yugo wanted to say something but the woman was right Academia used dueling to destroy Heartland and ruined these people lives all because of some grand plan to unite the world's as one.
"In any case you guys must be hungry we have plenty of food" the woman said as the kids nodded.
"Well" Yugo was about to say but the door was locked down and three academia soldiers came inside of the house.
"Six survivors spotted commencing disposal" the yellow ra soldier said as he was about to press a button on his duel disk.
"Your not disposing anybody" Yugo said as he Jack and Masumi came up and attached their duel disk to their wrist.
"Oh you guys are duelist we were bored with having to deal with nothing but pushovers up until now" one soldier said.
"Looks like we finally have someone we can go all out aganist" another soldier said.
"Dueling isn't something you use for combat its so people can have fun and laugh together to entertain people" Yugo said.
A couple minutes later it wasn't long until they were outside and they began their duel.
"DUEL!" everyone said it wasn't long until Yugo activated the field magic and it changed the field.
"Its dangerous don't go outside" the woman told her children.
"I'm going first" Yugo said.
"I've never seen a duel disk like that" the yellow soldier said.
"Are they not from the resistance?" another soldier asked.
"That's because we're lancers pal" Yugo said.
"Lancers" another soldier said.
"That's right we the lancers have come here to stop Academia and end this stupid dimensional war once and for all!" Yugo said.
"War what are you talking about?" one soldier asked.
"Don't play dumb you guys invaded the xyz dimension didn't you!" Masumi said.
"We are only completing our mission as ordered by the professor" one soldier said.
"The arc area project to restore the world in order to create our utopia" the yellow said.
"Arc area project" Yugo said.
"What in the world is that" Masumi said.
"Ridiculous what kind of utopia destroys cities and using dueling for wars and from what I saw you turn innocent people into cards!" Jack angrily yelled.
Using dueling like this wrong its for entertaining people and make them have a great time and if you don't agree with fine however we will stop you we come too far to stop now" Yugo said.
It was a amazing display it didn't take that long to beat but thanks to Yugo Jack and Masumi with their ace monsters Clear Wing Synchro Dragon Starlight Red Dragon Archfiend and Gem Knight Master Diamond along with the power of smile world to defeat the academia soldiers and the woman and kids were amazed to say the least.
"Alright now that's done we should probably ask them a couple of questions they might have information about the war and other things" Jack said.
"Yeah that's a good idea Jack" Yugo said.
Yugo Jack and Masumi was about to go up to the soldier but they quickly got up and ran away.
"Damn it" one guy said as they ran away.
"What they're getting away" Jack said as he Yugo and Masumi watched them turned the corner a large explosion engulfed them much to the shock to the three of them.
"What the hell was that" Yugo asked as they ran and turned the corner and once they did they were greeted with a insane sight.
They saw three cards lying on the ground which was the soldiers Yugo Jack and Masumi dueled.
Standing on a rock pillar was a young boy about a few years older then Yugo and Masumi he was around Jack and Shun age he was wearing a black trench coat and white pants and he had blue blonde hair that was curved and he had blue eyes.
Behind him was a giant dragon which Yugo and the others guessed was he used to defeat the soldiers and he was the one that turned them into cards.
"There were still others left" the boy said.
"Are you ready to repent" the boy said to Yugo Jack and Masumi as he held up his duel disk.
A/N: Hey how it going I hope you guys have a merry Christmas hope you guys like the chapter it was short but that was because this chapter was around ep 100 which was a reason I hope you guys enjoy it anyway this chapter Yugo Jack and Masumi meeting with Kaito wielder if the Galaxy Eyes and I'm sure everybody favorite Yugioh character or one of the 's going to happen now that Yugo Jack and Masumi has met up with Kaito well you will have to find out in the next chapter.
