CJ woke up the next morning to turn on the radio to Radio Los Santos. Dr. Dre's "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang" was playing on the radio, and after the song ended just one minute later, Julio G, the DJ, made an announcement of the riot in Los Santos, telling everyone out there to chill out.
Finally, a DJ with a fucking brain, CJ thought.
He could still hear the noises from the other pedestrians screaming outside ringing in his ears. He was no stranger to causing mayhem himself since he had taken out many gangs in the past. But his whole city was under attack, and it was only a matter of time until it would all collapse into a huge destruction.
So CJ pulled out his preferred clothing out of the drawers and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. He bathes inside there for five minutes and stepped out to dry himself up. Afterwards, he got dressed into his clothing, headed downstairs, out the front door, and straight towards Sweet's house.
CJ walked into the house and through the hallways. He finally came across Sweet, who was in the kitchen talking to someone over the phone to keep the cul-de-sac of Grove Street secured and inhibited by any minor that would come and either destroy or rob any of the houses around it.
"Yeah, so get the place locked down," Sweet told the person over the phone. "No one's gonna ruin the hood. You hear me? No one! Alright, see you."
Sweet hung up the phone and looked front right on time to see CJ walking into the kitchen
"Whattup?" CJ greeted giving Sweet a handshake.
"We almost got the hood under control, man. CJ," Sweet told him. "This is some serious shit, man."
"Hey, man, I know, man," CJ agreed. "I went through a lot of shit for this family since you been gone, so I know-"
"What?!" Sweet interrupted. "For yourself. Not for the family. Don't get shit confused, nigga."
CJ was finally getting tired of Sweet's snide remarks. "Man, when you gonna give me a break?" he asked trying to keep his composure.
"When you stop acting like you the man!" Sweet hissed at him. "You keep yapping on what you done did, let me tell you what I done did. When Kendl needed shoes, I went out and got the money. When Moms needed an operation, I robbed people for the bread. While you were off in Liberty City thinking about your own shit. For five years, come on man. Now you do something, you want a fucking parade? Nigga, please."
Enough was finally enough for CJ! He had finally tolerated his brother's tirades for so long, and he was getting tired of being treated like this just because Sweet was older and the leader. So he needed to give Sweet a reality check.
"I'm telling you what I done did?!" CJ snapped. "I haven't even BEGUN to tell you what I did ever since my exile from Los Santos! Now I will admit, I did let my little brother die! I wasn't there when my family needed me the most! I did fuck up, and I concede that, and you have every right to call me out on that! But I came over here and did everything I could to get the families together! Then while I was in exile, I did everything I could to raise enough money to bail yo' stubborn ass out of prison! So if you want to know exactly what I did, I'll tell you my damn self WHAT I DID! I robbed banks and betting shops with Cesar's psychopathic cousin! I races cars around the countryside and San Fierro! I built an empire for that RC Shop and Wang Cars in San Fierro! I got through a homeless asshole, vicious coyotes, the Flint County sheriff department, and so many other calamities to get the materials to fix the garage at Doherty! I had to learn how to fly! I robbed a casino in Las Venturas! I even had to steal a fucking jet to destroy some ships in a desert! All to bail yo' ass out of jail! And you stand here to tell me right to my face I'm doing this shit for myself?! Nigga, you crazy!"
Sweet just glared back at CJ, not moving a single muscle. CJ had given him a long-winded tirade on how he had worked so hard to get him out of jail, and for the very first time, he was at a lost of words. He had nothing else to say back.
"Let me tell you your problem, Sweet!" CJ snapped. "You're incredibly closed-minded! You think this whole 'hood is the most important thing in life – all because you were born here! I give you a chance to just let this shithole of a neighborhood go and move on and you decide to reject that with this 'hood bullshit?! That's the problem with you, Sweet! You still have that ghetto mentality messing with yo' mind! You the one who decided to take up crack because you wanted to destroy yourself all because it was destroying the 'hood, which I gave you a chance to get out of!"
Sweet then closed his eyes and looked down on the floor. He knew that his younger brother had hit him real deep when he brought that moment up.
"Now I have one question to ask you, bro," CJ told him trying to calm himself down as he glared seriously at him. "What have YOU done since this year?"
Sweet knew he couldn't answer this question. That question had hit him real hard, and he knew he wasn't one to talk when he was the one who almost took the crack pipe. So his only response was to turn back in defeat.
"You know what?" CJ responded. "I don't even know why I'm arguing. This obviously ain't goin' no where anyway. So good luck getting YOUR 'hood back, bro. I'm gonna help someone who's actually grateful."
CJ then walked away without turning back. It felt good to tell his provincial brother off on his closed-mindedness. He walked outside just in time to run into Cesar.
"Carl, man, I need your help," Cesar told him.
"Thank goodness you here, Ceez," CJ told him. "I'd rather help you out. You seem much more grateful. Plus I gotta reciprocate the favor, after you helped me."
"Gracias, hombre," Cesar said. "My hood's screwed up too. We got this shitty neighborhood on lockdown now."
"Alright, what you need?" CJ asked.
"It's time to get my old gang back together," Cesar answered. "Push out those yay-slanging punks, eh."
CJ looked back at his brother's house and thought for a second. After a while, CJ turned back to Cesar and nodded.
"Alright," CJ replied. "I hear you. I got your back - c'mon, let's roll."
"Orale!" Cesar said. "The Varrio's coming back!"
"OK, so what's the plan?" CJ asked Cesar.
"We're going to meet three of my veterano's over at Unity Station," Cesar told him.
"Three, is that all?" CJ asked. "A'ight, I'm a get a couple of Family boys to come through too."
CJ recruited a couple of members with him: a chubby, plump gangster nicknamed Steel and a short gangster in braids nicknamed G-Dub. The two hopped inside Sweet's Greenwood and drove through the chaotic city. It has been one day and the riot has still resumed in Los Santos.
"Shit's real serious, man, look at the streets, eh," Cesar told CJ.
"Yeah, we better watch ourselves, man," CJ replied.
"We don't want to get caught on Ballas turf while this shit's going down," Cesar said as CJ drove through the calamity in Idlewood. "Any sign of Ryder yet, CJ?"
"Naw," CJ told him. "I still ain't seen him around. I'm startin' to get worried."
"Me too, holmes," Cesar told him. "That dude is cool, and I'm worried for you of his absence since he's your homie – especially in this riot."
"No kidding," CJ said. "But Kendl's safe, right?"
"Si, holmes," Cesar said. "She's staying over with Lisa at Madd Dogg's mansion."
"Man, Tenpenny brought the central to its knees," CJ muttered under his breath as he looked around the neighborhood and all the wild pedestrians around it.
"While we here, I, eerr, I have a question to ask you," Cesar told CJ.
"Yeah?" CJ asked. "What?"
"Well it's... it's personal," Cesar said scratching the back of his head.
"Come on, man," CJ replied. "We're brothers, you and me. You can ask me anything."
"OK, here goes," Cesar answered as CJ made a left turn. "I want to ask Kendl the question."
"What's the problem?" CJ asked reaching into his pocket for his cellphone. "Call here, dude, here, use my phone."
"Noo, holmes, THE question!" Cesar told him emphasizing his words.
"What?" CJ asked, right before he finally got what Cesar meant. "Oh shit, you mean POP THE question. Well, I'm OK with that, you know, I appreciate you asking my permission and shit but–"
"Nah," Cesar interrupted. "I know you're cool. It's Sweet who is the problem, could you talk to him?"
"Sweet already knows you cool, dude," CJ said. "Why you need me to tell him you about to propose to Kendl?"
"Because, holmes," Cesar started to say, "he may be cool with me dating Kendl, but who's to say he would accept marriage?"
CJ then knew Cesar had a point. Sweet probably wouldn't accept his younger sister getting married at such a young age. So it was best for CJ to let Sweet know, even if he was no longer willing to help him out at this point.
"Okay, Ceez," CJ replied. "When I get the chance, I'll talk to him,"
"Thank you, CJ, that means a lot to me, holmes," Cesar said.
CJ, Cesar, Steel, and G-Dub then exited the vehicle CJ parked in front of the tracks to come across Cesar's allies of his gang, his brother Hazer being one of them.
"Those Vagos, man, I'm gonna cut those cacos," Sunny, one of the members of the Aztecas wearing a striped T-shirt, said. "Raspalo hasta el hueso!"
"Hey, carnales, what's cracking, holmes?" Cesar greeted his allies as he, CJ, Steel, and G-Dub approached them.
"Cesar!" Gal, the member in the black jacket, said. He looked at CJ. "And you must be CJ. Cesar says you cool, so we cool, holmes."
He gave CJ a tight handshake, and the seven gang members walked through the station and to the Vagos territory in El Corona.
"OK, check it out," Cesar said. "We will have to work our way through this neighborhood to get to my house. If we stick together those Vagos pendejos won't stand a chance! Watch each others' backs, amigos. Hasta la muerte!"
"HASTA LA MUERTE!" Gal, Sunny, and Hazer all repeated with Cesar.
"Hasta la muerte," CJ and his own homies repeated. "Whatever that mean in English," CJ said alone.
So it was on! CJ and his allies broke through to attack the Vagos in the territory. They fired their weapons at them, killing two of them.
"Northside Vago assholes!" Cesar shouted. "Keep together! Quickly, go! GO!"
They all oriented through the houses to search for the Vagos. There were more of them firing back at them, and CJ and his allies took cover and ducked behind the buildings to avoid the firing bullets to their way.
"Keep it tight!" Cesar announced as they all fired at every member.
The city was in danger, and CJ and his allies knew that they had to stay alive in order to fight for their peace. So they continued shooting every member of the Vagos. The latter gang members were dropping one by one, and CJ finally murdered the final member in the area.
"That's the last of them, let's move out!" Cesar declared.
CJ and his allies then went to the alleyway to find more Vagos.
"That was the easy bit, eh," Cesar said. "Now we go into the viper's nest. This is were it gets tough. Luckily we have a little surprise up our sleeves, eh, Sunny!"
Sunny nodded, as he was now armed with a rocket launcher.
"A rocket launcher?" CJ asked. "Shit, I guess we could blast all of them Vagos off the street with that. Too bad we ain't got a tank."
"No kidding," Cesar replied. "The whole city is a war zone! C'mon, I want to take my house back!"
Just then, the Vagos appeared behind parked cars and began firing at CJ and his allies. They all split up and took cover behind the side of the houses. Sunny used the rocket launcher to blow up the vehicles the Vagos had used as barriers and even killed some of them. CJ and the others just continued shooting each and every member, several of them dropping dead.
Just then, Hazer ran up in front of the shootout and took a bullet to the arm. "Ah mierda!" he cried out clutching onto his left arm. He had been shot by a Vago member that was hiding inside a side garage, and CJ finished the Vago off by riddling him with several bullets.
"Hazer!" Sunny cried out as he and Cesar came to his aid.
"Shit, Hazer..." Cesar shouted kneeling down to his brother.
"He is pretty bad, Cesar..." Sunny said.
"Heads up!" Cesar shouted as he stood back onto his feet while looking forward to see the Vagos climbing over the fences. "More Vagos! They're coming over the walls!"
While Sunny stood by Hazer's side, CJ, Cesar, and the rest of their allies took out as many Vagos as they could in the shootout. Each of them dropped dead one by one.
"More Vagos behind us!" Sunny shouted.
CJ then turned to see two Vagos creep up to them, only for him and the rest of his allies to shoot them both down. After the alleyway was now clear, CJ and the rest of the allies continued their way through.
"Let's fucking finish this!" Cesar called out.
"I'm with you man, let's take these punks," CJ agreed.
So CJ and the remaining allies stepped out of the alleyway to find the Vagos scattered around Cesar's old neighborhood. They were really determined now, and it looked like they were too stubborn to back down..
"Vagos rule this varrio now!" one of them declared loudly. "Aztecas are no more! This is Vagos neighborhood now! Burn Aztecas burn - Burn them - Torch those Aztecas!"
CJ looked in surprise as the Vagos around the neighborhood were armed with flamethrowers, Molotov cocktails, and even rocket launchers.
"Shit!" CJ cried out. "They're armed with rocket launchers and flamethrowers too?! Guess we should've saw this coming!"
"We gotta be cautious this time!" Cesar said. "I might possibly lose my brother, so we can't fuck around here! It's either life or death!"
So it was their last chance to end this. CJ and his allies scattered around to dodge the firing bullets and flames coming their way and decided to finish this once and for all.
They shot down each and every gang member one by one, avoiding the bullets and fire in the process. The whole street of El Corona was tearing apart, thanks to the Vagos.
"There's too many flames and missiles!" CJ called. "They got us outnumbered!"
"Don't worry, holmes!" Cesar told him. "I took something out of the Vagos' trunk!"
Cesar handed CJ a sniper rifle. "You remember the meeting with the Loco Syndicate we watched from the roof of San Fierro two months ago?"
"Bringin' it all back, eh ese?" CJ replied. "A'ight. Stand back everybody! I got this!"
CJ and his allies backed up as they avoided the flames and missiles coming their way. CJ used the sniper rifle to zoom in onto every member of the gang. He pulled the trigger as he hit each and every one of them one by one. Soon, every member of the Vagos were dead, and Cesar's street was now taken back.
"Alright, that's the last of 'em," CJ said.
"How is Hazer?" Cesar called at the alleyway as he ran to Gal and Sunny to find Hazel lying on the ground holding his bleeding arm.
"We need to get him to a hospital!" Gal said.
"Hey, I'll take him," CJ offered.
"CJ, you have done more than enough, holmes," Cesar said as he and Gal carried an injured Hazer into a parked Glendale and rested him onto Sunny's lap in the back seat. "You should get back to the Grove."
"Alright ese," CJ said. "I'll see you after all this is settled down."
"Thank you, CJ," Cesar said as he entered the passenger's seat of the Glendale, with Gal in the driver's seat. "And good luck, my friend."
"Say, Ceez," CJ told him. "You ain't thinking about staying here after this, are you?"
"Of course not," Cesar said. "Kendl and I live in San Fierro now. I just wanted to take this place back because my gang still lives here. I may not be in that ghetto mentality anymore, but the rest of my familia, including my brothers, still live out here. What kind of family man would I be to abandon my familia like that and let the Vagos disrespect my home?"
CJ then thought about it for a second. It all came back to him. He was so focused on the world around the hood that he didn't realize exactly what he was doing. He wanted to get out of gang life, but he also couldn't leave his old gang behind, and he realized exactly why the hood was in poor condition.
"Oh," CJ muttered. "I understand, Ceez. "Well go on and get your brother to the hospital. DOn't let him bleed to death."
"Muchas gracias, CJ!" Cesar said. "We all got your back."
Cesar and his allies then drove away, and CJ stared at Steel and G-Dub. "A'ight, fellas," he told them both. "Come with me. I gotta return to the Grove to have a word with our leader."
He guided them both to another parked vehicle in the alley and they hopped inside and drove away through the riot. The place was really burning down, and everyone was going crazy. CJ wanted to return to Grove Street to have a long conversation with Sweet after his tirade towards his brother.
