Sorry this is late. I had a lot more to do than only working on this chapter, which you'll understand at the end. Anyway, I hope you'll all enjoy.

Inverted Sky: Kingdom Hearts II

Chapter 86: Riku

Several days before Sora had ventured to the Caribbean world, her silver-haired friend stood silently next to Namine. Both of them being in front of Yen Sid as the man began explaining their newest mission. "I have sent Sora out to find powerful allies to fight along side us. Knowing her, she will have little difficulty in this endeavor. Therefore, it'll be up to the two of you to keep the worlds safe." he started in his normally serious tone.

"The first place I require you both to go is a tricky one. I've received word just a few minutes ago from an old friend of the King's. His world is in trouble from a massive storm that seems to be encompassing the entire world." the old man continued, looking between the two with somewhat narrowed eyes.

"It's unclear of the cause, but I don't think I need to tell you two to be very careful." Yen Sid stated firmly as he was obviously placing a lot of faith in the pair.

"Of course, Master Yen Sid." Riku responded with a nod of his head.

"We'll do whatever we can to stop this storm." Namine added, to which she and the other teen gave a bow before heading out of the room.

As the two headed down the stairs of the Sorcerer's tower, the two held thoughtful expression on their features. "What kind of storm covers a whole world?" the silver-haired boy muttered silently aloud.

"Outside one of the Heartless' doing...I'm not sure." the blond stated, shrugging her shoulders in the process.

Nodding slowly in agreement, Riku tilted his head down and placed a hand under his chin in an even more thoughtful manner. "And if this person is a friend of the King's, they would definitely know about the Heartless. Which they would have mentioned in their message."

"Exactly." Namine said with her own nod, to which they reached the bottom of the stairs and headed outside.

Where of which a Gummi ship was hovering just centimeters off the ground. But unlike Sora's red and yellow craft, this one was blue and white in color. The two then boarded the ship and input the coordinates that had already been sent to the navigation computer. "It's been a while since the two of us went on a mission together, huh?" the blond girl muttered silently while shrugging.

Riku glanced to her with a blinking gaze, yet slowly tilted his head up in thought; "Yeah, I guess it has been. We're usually going on missions separately to cover more worlds at once." he said silently.

Namine nodded briefly to this as they flew on to their destination, of which was rather close by in the cosmos. Upon arriving though, they blinked a few times to the sight. Despite being told that the storm covered the whole world, seeing it in person was an entirely different experience. The massive black clouds swirling across an entire world showed the sheer scale of things that must be happening. There even being flashes of lightning within these dark billows, yet there was still an eye to the storm.

"That'll probably be the best way of finding out what's going on." he said as they flew into the heart of the clouds.

As the ship flew however, it began to shake violently from the powerful winds swirling around them. The very hull of the craft creaking slightly as they pushed on through the debris flying around. Of which quickly began to grab the pair's attention, as they could see all manner of creatures and objects flying through the air. Some of them seeming to be from different areas, like parking meters and large uprooted trees. Meanwhile, others looked as though they could be from different points in time, like a knight in full armor and what appeared to be a hover car.

With a quick glance to one another in this confusion, the two just shook their heads and continued their descent. Once they reached the ground, they saw that the very center of the storm was a large a mansion sitting atop an even bigger hill. "Seems that this isn't any typical hurricane." Namine muttered silently, to which she and Riku jumped out of their ship.

Though the winds threatened to blow them away, the two managed to reach the front doors and push them open. Upon entering the foyer, the pair immediately blinked many times to the sheer confusion of the situation they were faced with. There was a large assortment of anthropomorphic animals of all kinds, but each one was different from the next. Some were dressed like pirates, others were cowboys or cowgirls, and a few even looked like ninjas. But the most odd of all was the dinosaur, currently being ridden by some sort of primitive anthropomorphic duck with red hair. Both Huey and Dewey being near of these last two, with the first seeming to be writing something down in a journal.

"I..." Namine started while blinking many times.

"...wasn't expecting this." Riku finished as he could only stare at everything that was going on.

"Long story short...time storm!" Scrooge called out from the side as he was fending off two pirates along with Webby.

Both Riku and Namine understanding quickly that the old duck was the friend Yen Sid spoke about. Yet they were still taken aback by all of this, to which they just kept their focus on Scrooge himself. "They're coming here from different points in time!" he continued quickly, ducking under a sword swing.

With a brief moment to snap out of their stupor, the two then brought out their weapons to defend against the many attackers. Each one being either aggressive out of confusion, or because they had the clear intention of stealing this place for themselves. But as the pair easily kept them at bay, they glanced to one another with similar expressions. Them basically questioning what they should even do in this situation, or even what they could do.

Just then a group of buff anthropomorphic dogs came riding through a set of doors on large bicycles. The two simply watching them ride by with their confused expressions remained constant, yet Namine still managed to speak up even during this. "Well...um..."

Riku turned to her as he blocked a pirate's sword coming toward him without even looking. Namine simply stepping to the side of a ninja's fist, to which she shrugged her shoulders while looking to the silver-haired teen. "...I guess we could try sending them back to their normal times somehow." she said in more of a question, than a statement.

"Aye!" Scrooge called out suddenly from the other side of the room, him still able to hear the pair talking.

"That should-" he continued, but was cut off as a bolt of lightning crackled into the foyer and then struck the floor.

This suddenly showing Kairi and Donald tugging at something between their hands, to which the two blinked many times when they realized where they were. "Um...I'll explain later?" the auburn-haired teen muttered sheepishly before another bolt of lightning struck toward them.

Both Kairi and Donald let out a yelp as they vanished together with this streak of electricity. Though, Riku could only blink once more in his confusion before glancing toward Namine. The two teens now also wondering what was going on just then, as well as how it all fit into what was happening on now. Yet they quickly turned to the side as two figures moved down the stairs carrying what looked to be a bathtub with machinery inside of it.

The first of these two was a female white-feathered duck with shoulder length hair, and a dark brown hair pin. She wore a jacket of the same hue as this hair pin, along with a blue scarf and light brown shorts. Though, the big thing that stuck out about her was that her left leg was mechanical from the knee down. "This is a huge deal!" she growled out while looking to Louie as he was inside the tub.

"Beakley's lost to time, and if I put my foot down about this earlier, none of this would have happened." she continued in a firm tone.

Meanwhile, the second figure was also a white-feathered duck, but was a male with a tall and hefty build. Him wearing a brown hat, and similarly colored leather jacket. Beneath this was a green shirt, orange tie, baggy tan pants, and black boots designed for webbed feet. "Listen Miss. B, I can explain." he began in a confident manner.

"You see, time is..." he continued, but paused immediately afterward.

"...eh, no...lost it." the large duck finished with a brief shrug.

However, a burst of lightning shot through the window nearby and struck him in an instant. Despite this though, he still managed out one last sentence as the electricity pulled itself and him outside of the mansion. "Everything we do has already happened~!"

Once he was gone, the tub fell forward and down the stairs, the female duck unable to keep a hold of it. But upon seeing this tub, Scrooge turned to this with a small smirk and nod of his head. "Right, time to send those unwanted house guests home~!" he stated, but was also struck by lightning, causing him to yell out the last word in a panic.

"Uncle Scrooge!" the three brothers called out along with Webby, to which Riku and Namine gave a quick nod to one another.

"Stop!" they called out in unison, to which everyone out of their normal time had froze in place.

Upon seeing this, Louie just nodding thankfully as he began fiddling with the knobs on the machine tub. "It's fine...I know how to fix this." he said quickly, yet everyone but Louie, Riku, Namine and the people out of time were struck by lightning one by one.

"Oh gosh...oh no." the duckling muttered to himself in a panic as he quickly took the shower head and pointed it at the still frozen group.

With a flip of a lever, a bright blue light shot from each individual spigot. This forming a large cone that engulfed each individual as Louie passed it over them, to which their form vanished instantly afterwards. "Did it work?" he muttered silently while looking around the room, hoping to see everyone coming back.

Riku also glanced around for a moment as well before noticing a figure just outside one of the windows. His eyes widening slightly as the familiar coat told him exactly whom they were working for. "The Organization." he muttered just before everyone whom had been taken away by the lightning returned in a similar fashion from how they left.

Though, they were all wearing different outfits than before. Likely having disguised themselves to fit in, upon arriving in a varied point in time. The two teens then took this moment to rush off in an attempt to catch the Organization member. Scrooge turning to thank them, only to see the door closing behind them."Teenagers...always in such a rush." he muttered silently in a sigh, yet everyone's attention slowly turned toward Louie.

Whom immediately began his apology, but it mostly fell on deaf ears as everyone knew the repercussions of this sort of thing. All the while, Riku and Namine ran along the outside of the mansion as they could see the hooded figure just up ahead. Whom was still looking through the window at the family of ducks, not even noticing the pair coming closer. But the moment they came within striking distance, the individual finally turned toward the pair. However, after seeing their readiness for a fight, they waved their hands in front of them in a panic. "Hold on a second!" they called out in a strangely familiar voice.

It causing both teens to immediately stop in their tracks as their eyes widened heavily. "Sora?" Riku questioned in confusion.

"Close...but not quite." came the reply as the person lifted their hood slightly to show their black hair.

"Xion..." Namine uttered out silently, her simply gazing at the girl in utter shock.

However, Xion placed a finger to where her lips would be, to which she waved her other hand. "Don't tell anyone that I'm here." she started in a whisper, all while seeming to look around their surroundings.

"I was worried that this whole storm was something more, but it seems that it was simply from a small mistake that snowballed into something bigger. Though...not completely bad either." the hooded teen continued, sounding somewhat relieved and even a bit happy.

"What kind of mistake?" Riku asked curiously, him raising a brow slightly to further this.

But as Xion was about to answer, a rogue bolt of lightning from the clearing clouds struck her. The girl only able to leave the pair with two parting words; "Ask Donald~!"

After quickly rushing forward as if to try and save Xion, the remaining two looked to one another in silence. Yet it was clear they were asking the same thing; 'Was that Xion from the past, present, or future?'

And there you have it, Duckburg is no longer the same Duckburg as it once was. And for that reason, I've actually replaced the points in which any characters from that world were mentioned. I might have missed a few, but I think I got most of them. The main one being in KH I where Sora went there for the first time to face against Merlock. Although, that event itself has now changed. But how did this happen? Does it have to do with what Kairi and Donald were doing? Probably. How does Xion fit into all this? Find out in the next chapter. Anyway, let me know what all of you thought. Until next time.
