A/N: A few familiar faces for this one hehe
Buffy groans as she swings the scythe at Elena who quickly backflips away spinning the staff in her hand before the two sisters circle each other again. Stefan and promptly kicked them out to train outside the second they had started training with weapons. Apparently the boys weren't too happy with them destroying all of the furniture in the boarding house. Buffy didn't get the big deal, they broke two bookcases and one base of bourbon, so what? Okay, maybe the bourbon had been the final straw.
As Elena leaps at her Buffy dives out of the way rolling across the floor before raising the scythe blocking Elena's staff, backflipping up kicking Elena in the face as she does; Buffy spins and swings the scythe cutting Elena's staff in two before she kicks Elena in the chest sending her stumbling to the ground.
"How you escaped that asylum with these fight moves I will never understand." The blonde jokes before helping Elena up.
"I don't get why you don't want to help me." Elena huffs as she flips back onto her feet and turns to her sister "Or at least tell me where she is so I can scream so hard that her brain pops."
Buffy sighs and places the scythe back into the halter Stefan had made her thank God she hadn't taken this with her when she went all evil, to be fair evil her was so into ripping people's heads off with her bare hands rather than stabbing.
"I don't know where she is." She admits before running a hand through her pink hair "Plus...I'm not leaving Joy, I missed the first 3 months of her life, she's almost ready to start sitting up herself. I...I can't miss anymore Elena."
Elena sighs and watches her sister carefully, she couldn't take on Katherine herself she needed Buffy's help otherwise there was no way she was going to kill Katherine "Think about it, Buff..." Elena begins as she and her sister begin circling each other again, swinging her leg at Buffy, she watches as the blonde jumps and flips over her head before landing behind her. Groaning she turns and swings staff which had now become two bo-staffs, Buffy saw it though and ducked before sweeping Elena's legs out from under her, as Buffy stands over her Elena huffs before pulling herself up again, she really did not like how easily Buffy beat the crap out of her "Buffy think. If Katherine's dead that's another threat against Joy dead. You don't think Katherine would take Joy as a bargaining tool against you and Klaus. All she cares about is herself. Joy will be safer is Katherine is rotting dead in an unmarked grave."
"Buffy is fragile right now." Stefan tells his brother as they discuss the issue that was Elena Gilbert and her desire to kill Katherine Pierce, crossing his arms he watches as his brother pours them both a drink before taking his as he continues "Elena's desire to kill Katherine...it could affect Buffy, take her mind off recovery."
Damon sighs as much as he would love to see Katherine die slowly and painfully Stefan was right they needed to keep Elena's mind of killing and keep Buffy from doing it again. She was already struggling with all the people that she killed with she turned off her emotions "So what do we do brother?"
Stefan sighs, honestly he wasn't too sure, there wasn't much they could do, they had no idea how powerful Elena was now she hadn't used her powers in front of any of them since she woke up "We just gonna keep her away from Katherine. Elena is so filled with hate and anger, she'll try and get Buffy to help her. Buffy focused on Joy when she turned her switch...but her emotions are still all over the place."
Damon nods in agreement, how hard could it be to keep a crazy powerful and anger banshee away from the vampire that murdered her brother?
He opens his mouth to speak only to groan as a cry comes from upstairs, did that damn baby ever sleep "How are neither one of us able to have kids yet we get to deal with a screaming baby?"
At his question the boys hear a laugh, turning they spot Buffy place the scythe down on the table "I got her." She tells them before speeding upstairs.
"Hey, little girl." Buffy whispers as she picks up her screaming daughter and begins bouncing her up and down "What's wrong Joy?" She asks the baby stupid enough to believe her daughter could magically tell her.
Frowning as her daughter continues to scream Buffy begins to panic, she had played, she had slept, she had been changed why wouldn't she stop.
"Come on Joycey what do you want?" She whispers panicking slightly as she holds onto her daughter.
"She's hungry." Another voice says causing Buffy in a panic to look up where Stefan was stood in the doorway holding a bottle for the little girl in the Slayer's arms.
Stepping forward he hands Buffy the bottle and the pink-haired slayer couldn't help but exhale in relief as her daughter finally stops screaming.
Smiling up at him she couldn't help but sigh "Great..." She mumbles as she places Joy down in the bouncy chair before turning to Stefan "I'm a terrible mother, I don't even know the difference of my own daughter's cries..."
As she starts to get frustrated and upset Stefan walks over to her and places his hands on her shoulders trying to calm her "Buffy look at me. You're doing great. She's a happy little girl. She rarely cries. Ever. You're a good mom."
Buffy takes a shaky breath and looks up into his eyes "But..."
"No." He assures her "Stop worrying for a second and realize how happy that little girl is."
Turning Buffy to face her daughter he couldn't help but smile as Joy throws the bottle to the ground before giggling. Buffy smiles at the sight of her daughter, how those witches thought she was going to be evil was crazy, yes she was going to be an over-powered creature one day but right now she was just an innocent little girl.
Pausing Stefan walks over and picks up Joy handing her Mr. Gordo, Buffy smiles as she watches Stefan and Joy, it was so crazy how much Joy had bonded with Stefan "She likes you."
Stefan smiles as he glances at the little girl who was staring at his hair with her big green eyes "She's okay too I guess." He says with a smile on his face before walking over to Buffy who smiles at her little girl before turning to glance at Stefan "Thank you. For being there for her."
Stefan merely shrugs and says two simple words which summoned up every reason he had protected this little girl "It's Joy."
"Stamp please." Caroline asks as she Elena, Buffy, and Joy all sit outside a small cafe doing their invitations for college graduation. Well, more accurately Caroline was doing them. Buffy and Elena had finished about 45 minutes ago.
Buffy sighs as she continues to push Joy back and forth in her buggy just praying the little girl didn't start screaming "You don't have to be nice to me Caroline. I did bury you alive. And right bitch across your prom dress."
"It was my very own Brooke Davis moment." Caroline says with a shrug before taking the stamp from Elena smiling at Buffy, she was ready to put the past behind them and continue fresh.
As Elena leans back and sips on her coffee Caroline's eyes widen "You're done? I'm only on my second batch."
Elena sighs before raising her two invitations "We have family friends in Denver." Pausing she lifts the other one "And Xander."
Buffy arches an eyebrow at that before smiling sadly and raising her own invitations "Willow, Tara. And Giles." Buffy groans, honestly she didn't want to go to graduation she had no interest "Do we have to go?"
"Yes." Caroline argues "Come on I want an adorable picture of mother and daughter in cap and gowns." She says turning to Joy "Wouldn't that be adorable?"
Elena rolls her eyes and huffs she had no interest in going to graduation all she cared about was killing Katherine, Caroline turns and spots the look on the brunette's face "Come on we have three Summers girls. Don't think about the hating Katherine thing...""
"Wait." Elena hisses turning to face Caroline "Do you know where Katherine is?"
"No. Why would I know where she is?"
Buffy clenches her jaw and kick's Elena's leg making the banshee shut the hell up, this whole obsessing thing was going to get them caught. If they were really going to kill Katherine, they were on their own.
Bonnie groans as she stands opposite Katherine in the sight of the 12 witches massacre. She was so not in the mood for Katherine and her attitude "Silas has done nothing but torment my friends and my God-daughter. Now he wants to unleash hell on earth. He's evil. In 2,000 years, only one person has been able to put him down."
Katherine couldn't help but roll her eyes at the dramatic speech, talk about over the top "Let me guess. Qetsiyah."
"If I can contact her I can ask her how to do it. Now hand me the rock."
Katherine merely raises an eyebrow as she watches the witch "You're gonna flood Mystic Falls with dead, supernatural creatures so that you can ask a 2,000-year-old witch not one but two favors? Ha! I think I'll take my business elsewhere." And with that Katherine turns her back on Bonnie however as she gets further apart she bashes straight into a barrier "What the hell!"
"I linked us." Bonnie explains smirking slightly at the evil vampire "Which means you're stuck with me for the day."
"Thanks for doing this again." Buffy tells Rebekah as she hands Joy over to her aunt who was sat at the bar of The Grill, while she had no interest in living her baby at a bar, she was running out of babysitters with super strength that could protect Joy. So Rebekah would have to do.
"It's no problem." Rebekah says with a smile as she bounces the little girl on her knee before turning to Buffy "So what are you and newly recovered anger obsessed banshee up to tonight."
Buffy clenches her jaw slightly, what was she supposed to say, they were about to go Katherine hunting. Shrugging "You know...demon bar, slayage, bit of violence and a tad bit of dancing. Just girly stuff."
Rebekah chuckles in amusement before lifting Joy up slightly "Say goodbye to mummy!" As Rebekah makes Joy's hand wave Buffy smiles and kisses Joy's nose "Bye sweetie. Be good." Turning to Rebekah she smiles once more before glancing over to where Caroline and Elena were talking,
"She's not friends with Rebekah." Buffy hears Caroline huff as she and Elena talk, well more accurately Caroline talks and Elena continues to launch darts at the dartboard.
"Actually I am." Buffy corrects crossing her arms "I wouldn't be trusting my daughter with her if I didn't trust her."
Caroline's eyes widen since Buffy had been back she hadn't once asked her to watch Joy, how did Rebekah get more trust "And you don't trust me? Are we even still friends? I mean all those things you said when your humanity was off, is that how you really feel?"
Buffy groans in annoyance "Caroline, I don't have time to feel bad about what I did or said to you." Pausing Buffy freezes as the lights suddenly go out "What the hell!" She huffs before speeding over to Rebekah to check on Joy "Keep her safe." She tells the Original before she follows Caroline Matt and Elena outside. Something was wrong here, she could sense it. As she steps outside her eyes widen the whole town was out of power, the wind was speeding wildly, something wasn't right.
As Caroline and Matt head back inside Buffy turns to her sister "Let's go kill Katherine."
After she had gotten a text from Stefan to meet at the high school Elena and Buffy pull over at the school and quickly climb out of Buffy's jeep, to be honest, they didn't have time for this, if Bonnie was really dropping the veil to the other side, then the second Katherine was dead she was going to have to grab Joy and run "If Bonnie's here...I have a feeling Katherine is too."
Elena clenches her jaw and turns to Buffy as they hear Damon's car driving towards them, Buffy sighs "Go now!" She tells her sister who quickly runs into the school.
"Where's Caroline and Elena?!" Stefan yells over the loudness of the wind as he climbs out of Damon's car.
"Caroline beat us here. Elena just followed her in. I'm gonna look outside do as you like you, boys."
At that, she walks off and Damon and Stefan glance at each other quickly doing rock paper scissors. Neither one of them particularly wanting to follow Elena and have to keep her from Katherine, the idea of another one of those screams in their heads didn't exactly sound appealing.
Stefan groans in annoyance as Damon's rock beats his scissors, rolling his eyes at his brother's smirk he moves to head towards the school, while Damon follows the blonde.
"Someone's an eager beaver."
Buffy stops in her steps and circles around Damon pushing her hair out of her face as the wind moves wildly around them "Where's Katherine?"
Damon couldn't help but scoff "She got to you. Buffy ignore Elena's craziness do you not notice all of the end of the world crap going on right now?"
Buffy groans in annoyance and crosses her arms "There's no giant snake or magical ball in the sky. So we're good. Damon, she needs to die. Don't make me make you tell me."
Damon frowns as he watches the blonde, she was delicate emotionally at the moment, Elena had used that to get what she wants. Buffy helping her. He couldn't help but sigh, why did Elena have to be so damn smart?!
"We need to find Bonnie Buffy! Their together okay!"
Buffy clenches her jaw before grabbing Damon's jacket and hauling him off the ground and launching him across the parking lot. As he lands on a car hood with a grunt glass shattering around him he groans in pain before looking up only to huff "Dammit!" He hisses, they needed Buffy's help to stop Bonnie...but she was gone. Just great.
Damon runs through the halls as fast as he can until finally, he spots a certain blonde demon hybrid about to head down into the basement. Speeding up behind her he tackles her to the ground.
Buffy grunts as she lands on her back with Damon pinning her to the ground "Get off me you big doof!" She hisses as she places her feet on his chest sending him flying off her and crashing into a set of lockers. Flipping herself back up to her feet she spins around and glares at her best friend "I don't have time for this Damon!"
"Katherine is not worth your time Buffy!" Damon screams at her as he slowly stands, god he was getting so sick of this blonde beating the crap out of him she was starting to scratch at his masculinity.
Buffy rolls her eyes before moving to head down into the basement, she knew Elena was ahead of her given the door had been blown off its hinges. However, before she could move Damon shoves her up against the lockets his arm against her throat "Buffy Elena is channeling her anger into you! Anger at Katherine isn't what brought you back." When she merely grabs his arms and twists it before slamming him against the lockers he couldn't help but grunt in agony as she threatens to rip his arm from its socket.
"Buffy you came back for Joy!" He reminds her "Think about Joy. She needs you not a killer."
Buffy freezes at his words and slowly steps back at him, she had left Joy for 3 months, had abandoned her daughter, only to come back and instead of being with her, here she was hunting Katherine.
It felt like a weight just dropped onto her chest as she thinks about how much she was missing, about how much of a horrible mother she was being "Oh my god." Pausing she looks up at Damon with teary eyes "I abandoned her again. What—what's wrong with me?"
Damon sighs and tilts his head in worry, walking over to her he places his hands on her shoulders "Buff—"
"Am I interrupting something?"
Buffy freezes and wipes her eyes and turns towards the voice only to step back in shock "Ric?"
Buffy and Damon glance at each other in complete shock before turning back to Alaric, this wasn't possible unless..."So this is either really good or really bad." Damon mumbles as the two of them watch Alaric curiously, unsure of the veil was down or if this was Silas.
Alaric chuckles in amusement as he watches the two of them "It's good to see you too guys."
Buffy arches a brow as she watches Alaric, as much as she wanted to believe this was their Ric...she also had a bad feeling about this "Question is whether you're a man with a face or...you know your own man."
Alaric couldn't help but scoff "You think I'm Silas? Are you kidding me?"
"I'm not a big kidder latterly."
Alaric chuckles before watching the two of them carefully, nodding he walks over to one of the lockers and opens it pulling out a bottle of bourbon "Now, would Silas know about Locker 42?"
At his words Buffy lets out a small breath, this was Alaric, their Alaric he was here, running forward she hugs him tightly while Damon smiles before chuckling and while Buffy releases Alaric Damon hugs him.
Buffy smiles at the sight before something occurs to her, they could see him and touch him "Oh my god. Damon...the veil."
Damon's eyes widen looks like Bonnie had finally done it but that meant, one certain little girl was in a lot of danger "Go get Elena now. Then get home to your daughter. Keep her inside."
Buffy nods hugging Ric once more she then runs down into the basement while Alaric shakes his head in amusement "Still can't believe she has a kid."
Damon chuckles before shaking his head "You and me both. So...she really dropped the veil."
"Not exactly." Alaric explains "It's only down inside the expression triangle. If I step outside of it, it's back to Ghost World."
Damon frowns in confusion as he watches his other best friend, God it was great to have another friend other than Buffy who had spent the past few weeks trying to kill him. To say it had not been a pleasant time in their friendship was an understatement. But as cool as it was to have Ric back there was something off here, "Where's everybody? I figure with the veil down, it'd be like Ghost-A-Palooza."
"Not every Ghost has a reason to come back to Mystic Falls. Just the ones like me. Looking out for their idiot best friends."
Damon sighs and thinks about the little girl currently with one blonde Original that wasn't her mother "I'm more worried about those here for their enemies. Specifically Buffy and Klaus's enemies. Cause we kind of have that little girl that you know...they would love to get their hands on."
Rebekah smiles as she and Matt sit at a booth, after everyone had left due to the insane wind it was just the two of them and Joy now who was quietly sleeping away in her buggy.
As Rebekah slowly moves it back and forth she frowns as she hears the back down open, turning her eyes widen as there in front of her was her brother. Kol "Oh my god. Kol."
Matt's eyes fill with panic and he slowly pulls Joy back towards him while Rebekah steps in front of the girl and human, while she loved her brother, she didn't trust him not to hurt their niece, grabbing her phone from her back pocket she carefully slips it to Matt to text Buffy while she faced her brother who smirks at the two of them.
"Greetings from the dead. So, who fancies a drink?"
After Bonnie had given her some slack so she could go and see who was heading towards them Katherine heads into the dark cave and looks out keeping an eye out for Silas who was probably really pissed off right now "Silas? Come and get me."
Suddenly Katherine groans in agony and grabs her head before her eyes widen as walking down towards her with a stake in her hand was the Gilbert Girl.
"Hello Katherine." Elena hisses before driving the stake into Katherine's stomach causing her to scream out in agony.
Grabbing the weak Katherine by the hair the banshee drags her down the path before shoving her into the boiler room, Katherine groans as she lands on the floor before yanking the stake out of her gut "I let your sister out of her cage and this is how you thank me?!"
Elena smirks "Yep. And it' about to get a lot worse." She hisses before running over to Katherine, Katherine tries to speed away but Elena screams sending a sonic wave at the vampire who goes flying across the boiler room slamming her head into a boiling pipe leaving a burn across her face.
Grabbing a broom by the door Elena snaps the end off over her knee before driving the pointed end of the broom into Katherine's back causing the powerful vampire to scream in agony as Elena shoves the wood closer and closer to her heart.
Elena watches joyfully at Katherine screams in agony before she grabs Katherine by the hair and slams her up against the pipe that had just burned her. She hadn't suffered enough yet.
As the heat coming from the pipe burns at her skin Katherine screams in agony as steams from her face.
"Bonnie!" Buffy yells as she hears the witch screaming running towards the cave she forgets about the fact that Elena was trying to kill Katherine. If Bonnie was dying that needed to be the focus.
Speeding into the cave the blonde's eyes widen as there thriving on the floor in agony as she screamed for bloody murder was Bonnie Bennet.
"Bonnie!" The hybrid yells again as she runs over and crouches down by Bonnie who grabs onto her as she screams holding onto Buffy's arm so tightly it was beginning to bruise...not that it would last long.
Buffy stares down at her best friend in terror, there was blood dripping from a wound on her back and a burn across her face which was growing by the second, this wasn't possible how could these injuries just magically be appearing on her.
"Bon...talk to me what's happening!?"
At that moment Stefan and Caroline run in and Buffy turns to them as she rests Bonnie's head on her lap "I don't know how to help her."
"Katherine." Bonnie finally groans out in-between her screams "We're linked."
Buffy's eyes widen as memories of the Masquerade ball 4 years ago fills her head, the way Katherine had been linked to Elena, how every injury she and the Salvatore's had given Katherine had effected the Gilbert Girl. Elena had almost died that night. Which meant...if Katherine died. So did Bonnie.
"Oh my god." She breaths before turning to Stefan "Elena. We need to stop her!"
Caroline's eyes widen in panic and she bends down by Bonnie trying to take her from Buffy who hesitates, Caroline sighs before nodding "I'll take care of her. You and Stefan go."
Buffy groans before glancing at Bonnie once more, guilt filling her as she thinks about how she had tortured and beat Bonnie trying to kill her, she couldn't let her die.
Hesitantly she carefully places Bonnie's head on Caroline's lap "Get her to break the link." She tells Caroline before taking Stefan's hand the two of them speeding out of the room. They had to find Katherine and Elena.
"You have done nothing but suck the happiness out of my life." Elena hisses as she continues to hold the screaming Katherine up against the boiling pipes, she just couldn't control this anger within in right now. It was too much. She needed Katherine dead.
Yanking the wooden stick out of Katherine's back the brunette banshee then stabs it into the vampire's leg causing Katherine to stumble and scream as she forces herself to face the furious Banshee.
For the first time in 500 years...she had to admit, she was scared. She felt like this was it, she was going to die.
Elena glares down at the vampire remembering back to all the horrible things she had done over the last five years to them all. Killing Caroline, giving Klaus Jenna, torturing Buffy and Stefan ruining their relationship...killing Jeremy. This was the end of the road for her now. Elena would make sure of it.
"Now...I get to kill you."
As Elena opens her mouth to scream Katherine's eyes fill with pure panic and fear, she didn't want to die, not now, not ever, she was supposed to become immortal so she could get Mary back. She was supposed to have a life, the past 500 years hadn't been a life it had been running. She had never really lived she couldn't die now!
"No wait please!"
Elena merely tilts her head and glares at the vampire with cold dead eyes "Good-bye Katherine."
And finally Elena screams the loudest scream she had ever done, it was so powerful that the walls were shaking violently while the pipes attached to the boiler began snapping apart.
Katherine screams in agony as she clutches her head while blood dripped from her nose, it felt like her brain was being crushed from the inside out like Elena was focusing every aspect of the scream on her brain and heart. In 500 years this was the most painful thing she had ever experienced.
"Ah!" Buffy screams as she and Stefan drop to their knees in agony, Buffy clutches her head crying out in pain, looks like that freaking coma had amplified Elena's power and if she had more control...god knows how bad this was for Katherine right now. Not that she didn't deserve to have her head blow up. Now that would have been an awesome baby shower gift!
As she cries Buffy winces and glances over at Stefan who was struggling worse than her, he wasn't as powerful as her and blood was dripping from his nose as he cried out.
"Stefan!" She gasps as he falls over, Buffy's eyes fill with panic and she moves over to him, clenching her jaw she lets go of her years and as blood begins to trickle from them she ignores the agonizing pain and throws Stefan's arm over her own helping him up.
Stefan winces and looks down at Buffy worry filling his expression as he watches her struggle "Buffy..."
"I'm not gonna leave you." She argues before she begins pulling him towards the boiler where the scream was at it's loudest.
Clenching her jaw once more Buffy looks over at Stefan "Warning I may pass out."
"What?" He breathes out through the pain barely able to understand before his eyes widen in horror as he watches her struggle into the room where Elena was currently sending a sonic wave at Katherine who was screaming in agony on the floor as her head seemed to begin to crush in on itself.
Buffy stares in horror, God she hoped Bonnie had broken the link, as Elena's scream gets louder and the room begins to vibrate Buffy clenches her jaw before throwing herself across the room tackling her sister to the ground. Effectively knocking the wind out of her causing her to finally stop screaming.
"Buffy!" Elena screams as she and Buffy struggle on the floor before Elena groans and elbows the weak Buffy in the face before shoving her off her. Buffy had taken the brunt of the scream so her head was still fuzzy and she felt like crap. Having her sister elbow her in the face, not exactly a big help.
As Elena moves to open her mouth again as she spots Katherine yanking the broken wood out of her foot Stefan finally recovered speeds over and pins Elena to the wall holding a hand over her mouth.
Katherine watches smirking slightly as she finally stands "Thanks for the save, handsome."
Stefan clenches his jaw and glances back at the evil vampire "Get the hell out of here before I kill you myself."
Katherine couldn't help but scoff as she tilts her head in interest watching as the Banshee continued to struggle under his grasp while the Slayer was still trying to keep herself conscious "Really? I'm your biggest problem right now?" She asks in disbelief before with that she exits the room.
Rebekah sighs, Kol had stormed off thank god for that but she didn't like being here, she needed to get ahold of Buffy and get Joy somewhere safe. Walking into the back to find a phone as she couldn't get any bloody signal her eyes widen as there sat on the floor a knife in her hand. Was Caroline. She was slicing into her wrist...over and over again.
Rebekah's eyes widen, if Caroline was here, then who the hell was at the school with the others?
Bonnie groans as she finally unlinks herself, she hadn't realized Elena's screams could do that kind of damage she had felt like her brain was being squished from the inside out.
"Bonnie are you ok?" Caroline asks as she watches the witch in worry, the witch sighs before nodding as she wipes the blood from her nose and pulls off her now bloody jumper, Elena had really done a number on Katherine from what she could guess given the amount of injuries that had appeared on her "Yeah, not that I unlinked her."
Caroline sighs in worry before helping the witch stand up, once Bonnie was stable Caroline glances around the cave in confusion "What are you doing down here?"
"Waiting for Qetseyah." Bonnie admits only to frown as Caroline's face falls, a blank look filling her expression. Something wasn't right here.
Caroline merely tilts her head as she glares at the witch "You might be waiting a while."
"Qetsiyah's not coming, Bonnie." The witch gasps as she spins around and there was Silas in his true form, his disfigured face glaring straight into her eyes.
"Silas." She breaths in panic, this made no sense, she had seen his true form he shouldn't be able to trick her anymore, what was happening "But—I saw Caroline. How? I thought you couldn't get inside my head."
"That's what I wanted you to think." He tells her as he takes a threatening step towards her "I can make you see whatever I want you to see. Am I a disfigured monster?"
Suddenly a familiar voice appears from behind her "Of course not." Bonnie spins around her eyes widen as now Silas was walking towards her wearing Stefan's face "A monster is what I wanted you to see."
"That's the beauty of all this." Silas tells her as he appears to her left now in Buffy's form as Silas smirked at the young witch "You have no idea who I am."
After Katherine had disappeared Stefan crouches down by Buffy making sure she was okay before carefully helping the hybrid up.
Elena scoffs as she stands glaring at the both of them, how could they do this to her? She had been so close, she had been moments away from killing Katherine and in seconds the two of them had ruined it all "How could you save her!" She yells at both of them "She was as good as dead."
"What about Bonnie?" Buffy asks her "She was linked to Katherine. Ergo you kill Katherine Bonnie dies!"
Elena's eyes widen a fraction before she shakes her head it was lies, they were lying to her they had to be "How do you know that?"
"We saw her Elena." Stefan informs her as he takes a step towards the Banshee "Find her screaming in Buffy's arms blood covering her back and burns on her face. You almost killed your best friend!"
Elena frowns for a minutes before she shakes her head, he was wrong, they both were, Stefan and Damon had manipulated Buffy back to their side, had taken her mind off of the prize, she wouldn't let them do that to her "I don't believe you."
Buffy's eyes widen and she clenches her jaw "Aw big sister don't make me knock sense into you."
"She killed our brother!" Elena screams at her sister getting into her face "Yet you save her! Do you even care about Jeremy? No I'm the only one who cares."
Buffy clenches her jaw before tilting her head at her sister "Don't do this. Not now."
"Admit it." Elena hisses anger filling her bones as she glares at her sister "You care about you Buffy! Oh no wait...you care about all those dirty little thoughts you have about Klaus—" Elena is cut off as Buffy losing her temper punches Elena across the face sending her flying across the room hitting the back wall.
Huffing in annoyance she glares down at her sister before Stefan grabs her wrist "I'll deal with her."
"Stefan..."
Stefan sighs before squeezing her wrist "Do you trust me?"
Buffy hesitates for a moment, for them that was a biggy, she had told him months ago after their fall out that she would never trust him again, and at the time she had meant it "Yes."
Stefan smiles "Go get Joy. The other side is down. Take her home, keep her safe. I'll deal with Elena."
Buffy hesitates once more before glancing up at Stefan and for a moment it felt like she was 17 all over again. She had trusted him more than anything, he had never broken his word to her. And right now...she felt that again. Like she would trust him no matter what.
Sighing she nods before smiling at him and with one last glance at her sister the blonde speeds out of the room.
"Silas is what?!" Buffy screams as she pulls her car over at the Grill while on the phone with Damon.
"Silas was pretending to be Caroline. Oh and apparently...Kol came by The Grill looking for Elena."
Buffy groans in annoyance and she slams her door shut in annoyance, this was all completely messed up, Elena was crazy, the veil was down and their lives were just so messed up!
"Any good news Simon Cowell?"
"Donovan didn't say anything nice. Just that you should get little miss sunshine somewhere safe."
Buffy groans as she thinks about all the supernatural people that she had killed who might think about coming back for another go, let's see Glory, Caleb, most of the witches she had killed from New Orleans, oh then there were all the vampires she killed. This was not going to be good. Bonnie needed to put the damn veil back up. Like now-ish.
"Good. Talk soon." And with that, the blonde hangs up the phone before walking into the Grill her eyes widening as she spots Matt sat holding Joy while Rebekah tried to keep knives away from Caroline who was only repeating the same five words again and again "I need to keep cutting."
Buffy's eyes widen "Woah. Talk about a bad trip." Matt turns and sighs in relief before quickly standing and handing Joy to her mother. Joy giggles and promptly lays her head down on Buffy's shoulder. Buffy frowns "She's asleep." She gasps in shock. 2 seconds then dead to the world. This kid was so her daughter.
"You can tell she's yours." Matt jokes before turning towards Rebekah who was still struggling with Caroline "What do we do?"
Buffy frowns as she watches the currently out of her mind Caroline "Knock sense into her. Literally. Matt record it!"
Matt rolls his eyes before him and Buffy watch as Rebekah slaps Caroline across the face causing the younger vampire to gasp. Slowly Caroline turns and glares at the Original "Bitch!"
Buffy laughs loudly "2 points for the Slayer. High five me Matt."
Matt sighs in amusement before high fiving Buffy while Rebekah sighs with relief, she wasn't going to lie though. She did enjoy that just a little.
Silas now in the form of Alaric watches Bonnie for a moment, it was entertaining how she thought she was in charge here. She had no idea exactly what he was capable of. But she was about to find out.
As Bonnie gasps, Silas smiles "You feel that Bonnie. The air. Thinning." Bonnie gasps as she feels unable to breathe, she drops to her knees gasping heavily "Barely enough to breath."
Silas smiles before turning away from the gasping witch and picking up a nearby torch, it was time to go find the Salvatores.
After fighting with Buffy and then promptly running away after Stefan had tried to talk to her Elena walks through the graveyard towards the Gilbert plot. While she knew Jeremy wouldn't be there, his grave should be next to the plot at least.
Running a hand through her hair she winces at her very bruised black eye, she forgot how hard Buffy hit, and that was her holding back.
Sighing she takes her mind off the fight with her sister and focuses on the grave now in front of her "Brother and friend?" She reads scoffing slightly "What genius came up with that one."
Sighing she slowly lowers herself onto her knees in front of the grave of Jeremy Gilbert staring at the name unsure of what to say. Watching the grave she couldn't help but shake her head as tears fill her eyes "I give up, Jer."
Taking a shaky breath she tries to summon her courage, this was harder then she thought it was going to be "I really wanted to kill her for you, but..." Picking up the flowers by the grave she smiles slightly, they were Lilies. They were their mom's favorite. Sighing she takes another shaky breath and gazes up at the sky "There's no point. Stefan and Buffy are right. It's just a distraction."
Slowly her hands tighten around the flowers and as she begins to sniffle tears working their way down her face she throws the flowers at his grave before running a hand through her hair as she begins to breathe heavily "I can't. I can't do this...I can't...I can't move on, and I don't want to. If that makes me weak then fine, I'm weak. I'm not Buffy Jer. She has this beautiful little girl. Her own family now. And I'm alone. I can't you...you being gone... and I can't handle feeling like this all over again." She gasps out staring at his gravestone as she remembers back to the day she and Jeremy had purchased Buffy's.
It had been one of the worst days of her life, she had felt like she was dying and when Buffy came back this wasn't supposed to happen again. Not for a long time. But now, here she was not even a year and a half later at another one of her sibling's graves.
As she begins sobbing violently she closes her eyes for a moment before staring at the grave once more as tears stream down her face.
"Hello old friend."
Elena's eyes widen and she spins around her eyes widening as there staring at her...was Kol.
"Shhh." Buffy whispers as she taps the sleeping Joy's back lightly, walking over to her white crib Buffy carefully places her little girl down covering her with the white and purple blanket before placing Mr. Gordo beside her.
Leaning over the crib she couldn't help but smile at the little girl, it was still so strange to her that she was a mom but at the same time there was nothing in her mind that made her question anything about it.
It was just so surreal.
She was a mom, she had made this little creature...and she was pretty damn cute "I make cute little creatures." Buffy whispers as she strokes her daughter's cheek softly before smiling as she watches her little girl. She was just so perfect.
As she watches her daughter so immersed she doesn't hear the door open behind her "She's beautiful..."
At the unfamiliar voice, Buffy grabs a knife out of her pocket and spins around ready to protect her daughter only for her eyes to widen and the knife to clatter to the ground as her whole body freezes up. She couldn't help but stare with teary eyes at the person in front of her. Someone she never thought she would see again...someone who had been dead 6 years. The woman who was the reason she had come to Mystic Falls.
"Mom?"
Bonnie takes a gasping breath before she merely stares at the person who had just helped her, her Grams. Smiling slightly she stands and hugs her grandmother so tightly knowing she didn't have long with her "I was so worried about you."
"I know." Her grams whispers as she hugs her grand-daughter for the first time in over 5 years "But I'm okay."
Bonnie lets out a small smile before smiling as Shelia pulls back "I've been watching over you."
Bonnie takes a shaky breath as guilt fills her "I messed up. I'm sorry."
Shelia shakes her head, Bonnie had nothing to apologies for, this wasn't over yet "You can still stop Silas."
"No I can't." Bonnie stutters shaking her head violently "Qetsiyah was able to immobilize him so he couldn't feed and get into people's heads. I don't know how to do that. I don't know how to put him down."
Shelia's eyes widen as she watches her grand-daughter, this wasn't the Bonnie Bennet she knew, they were Bennett's, powerful strong women. And they never gave in "You can do that. Expression is the manifestation of your will. You can do anything. I don't like it but sometimes there are no choices. But you are strong enough. You can do this."
"I got a hold of Stefan." Alaric tells Damon the second he finds him in the caves shining his torch in the vampire's face "Buffy's not answering but Stefan's heading for Elena."
Damon nods before glancing around the maze of caves, he had no idea how to find Silas or Bonnie in this mess, how Buffy and Stefan had managed to he had no idea.
"Did you find Silas?" Alaric asks suddenly.
At the question Damon turns and forces a smile on his face "Yup." He says before backhanding Silas across the face with his torch.
As the immortal being groans in pain and drops to his knees, Damon grabs a set of chains and wraps them around Silas' neck, as he struggles Silas attempts to convince Damon that he was wrong "Oh! Damon, it's me!"
"No, you're not!" Damon argues before smirking "I spent more time in these tunnels then I care to admit and there's no way unless you are a Slayer Demon hybrid you just came from the school." Pausing Damon leans his head towards Silas so he could whisper right into his ear as he continued to choke him "Your mind tricks don't work on me, Silas."
Yanking on the chain again Damon couldn't help but smile as he spots a certain Bennett witch begin to approach them. This was probably one of the few times he would be happy to see Bonnie Bennett.
Bonnie glares down at Silas as she begins summoning her power "I may not be able to kill you, but I will stop you."
With her words, she closes her eyes and wind begins to pick up suddenly despite the fact they were underground.
Damon's eyes widen and he steps back as Silas begins to convulse in agony screaming loudly as Bonnie's works her magic on him "I will make the blood clot in your veins." She promises as she squeezes her hands together tightly "I will make every bone, muscle, and joint in your body turn to stone." At her words Silas' hands begin to desiccate once again "You won't have power over us anymore."
Silas screams in agony and as his body begins to turn back to stone like he had been for over 2000 years he stands turning away from Bonnie and Damon as the stone makes it's way all over his body.
Damon watches in confusion at the sight before him, not gonna lie he had seen some weird crap in the past 6 years, this was getting to top five really fast "What the hell is happening?"
"He can't hide behind his mind control anymore." Bonnie explains as they watch Silas cover his face with his hands trying to conceal his true form "He's becoming his true self."
As Silas finally stops moving Damon walks over to the now stoned fossilized immortal being and arches a brow "Who exactly might his true self be?"
As they realize quickly that in Silas' final moments he had hidden his face with his hands, which meant they would never know who Silas really was.
Elena groans as she goes flying across the graveyard grunting in pain as her back hits a hard gravestone, she was gonna feel that in the morning for sure. If she lived past tonight. Which was starting to look very bleak right now.
"Now, this is what I've missed." Kol chuckles as he glances down at the brunette who now had a large cut over her eye causing blood to drip all over her face "Two people making a connection." With his words, his foot then makes a connection with her stomach causing her to cry out in agony.
Kol watches her for a moment before sighing "It's lonely on the other side. I swear..." He whispers as he bends down to her level "Being invisible will drive you mad. The way you couldn't see me standing over that bed of yours as you lay in your coma, or feel my breath on your cheek as I whispered all the way that I wished for you to suffer."
Elena clenches her jaw and opens her mouth but Kol was too fast he grabs her by the throat yanking her off the ground holding her up causing her feet to dangle above the floor as she struggled for breath "But alas, now you can."
It was at this moment she knew it was over, she had avoided death so many times now, maybe now was her time. Maybe she needed to stop fighting. Buffy wouldn't always be getting hurt trying to protect her, maybe it was time to let go "Go ahead, Kol. Kill me." She whispers struggling out the words as he chokes the life out of her "You'll be doing me a favor."
Kol watches her for a moment before slowly a smile covers his face "As you wish darling." As he moves to snap her neck Elena closes her eyes however they slam open as she hears a gun drop.
Kol quickly drops her to the ground and spins around catches the wooden stake in his palm before it could enter his heart.
"How many times do I have to kill you? Ballpark figure?"
At those words Elena takes a shaky breath she recognized that voice, looking up through the blood she felt like she couldn't breathe. As there stood with his stake launcher in his hands...was Jeremy.
Kol merely groans in annoyance "Jeremy Gilbert. Welcome back." Stepping towards the hunter Kol tilts his head imagining all the ways he was going to torture this one "You ever heard the saying...kill me once, shame on me. Kill me twice, shame on—"
Suddenly Kol goes silent as Stefan appears behind him and snaps his neck "Let's leave it at that, shall we?"
Jeremy nods before he spots a weak Elena trying to stand "Elena!"
Elena's eyes widen and she weakly steps forward before Jeremy runs over to her and hugs her tightly, Elena clutches onto her brother crying loudly as she holds onto him. She just couldn't believe he was here.
Buffy clenches her jaw as she stares at the woman who looked like her mother, this wasn't possible, this had to be Silas it had to be.
Joyce sighs as she looks at her daughter "You think I'm Silas?"
"Was giving it a thought." Buffy says with a shrug as she moves in front of her daughter's crib, clenching her jaw she sighs, this was probably the cruelest thing that Silas could have appeared to her as "My mom wasn't supernatural."
Joyce smiles slightly as she watches her daughter, she was so grown now, last time she had seen her little girl in the flesh before she had come to the afterlife Buffy had been 16 and now here she was 22 years old and a mother herself.
"I had sex with Giles on the hood of a police car."
Buffy's eyes widen and she groans "Oh my god." She shakes violently before her eyes widen and tears fill her eyes, that was something Silas wouldn't know...which could only mean... "Mom."
Joyce lets out a small breath as tears fill her eyes as she watches her little girl, now a fully grown woman "Hi sweetie."
"Mom." Buffy gasps before running into her mother's arms and sobbing violently as she clutches onto her mom, while she didn't know how this was possible, she didn't care. She had her mom back, even if it was just for a small-time.
"You need to get rid of Silas." Bonnie tells Stefan and Damon as they all stand nearby where Elena and Jeremy were still hugging. Stefan had called Buffy so she was on her way, she had sounded weird though, like she had been crying but she wouldn't say why.
"Well, there's a slight problem, Medusa." Damon snarks "Even though you turned him into stone, if he gets one more drop of blood, he's back to his old mind tricks.
Stefan sighs trying to think of a plan when it clicks in his brain, the same thought that they had planned when they were going to deal with Klaus "All right, so let's do what we should've done to Klaus. Let's drop his body in the middle of the ocean."
"Bonnie." A voice calls from behind and suddenly Buffy appears after having run through the forest, Joyce was driving with little Joyce but she had run like hell to see Jeremy.
Bonnie freezes and turns to face the blonde pink bombshell "Bonnie...I didn't get to say this earlier. Given Elena trying to kill Katherine but...um...the way I..."
"You weren't you." Bonnie says as she steps towards her blonde best friend "I know what that's like. I wasn't me for a long time."
Buffy smiles softly before letting a small tear drip past her face "I'm sorry I told you about being God-mother that way too. I did have plans."
Bonnie couldn't help but let out a small smile "Where is my little God-daughter?"
"On her way." Buffy says simple before she glances over at her siblings, she couldn't help but stare at Jeremy "Go." Bonnie whispers at the blonde "You've got some catching up to do."
Buffy glances back at the witch before smiling and beginning to walk towards her siblings "Got enough hugs left for little old me."
Jeremy turns his eyes widening at the sight of Buffy who lets out a large smile as tears of happiness begin to roll down her face, running over to Jeremy she jumps up and her brother lifts her off the ground, hugging her tightly.
Buffy tucks her head into his neck holding onto him for dear life she just couldn't believe this was real, that he was actually here.
After a long moment Jeremy places her down and frowns "You're not—"
"Knocked up?" Buffy asks before laughing "Her name is Joy."
Jeremy lets out a small breath and he couldn't help but smile, he actually had a niece, this was crazy "Where is she?"
"Here." A voice says from behind them, Buffy smiles as she watches Elena and Jeremy both freeze their eyes widening in shock, pretty much the exact way she had reacted as well, but without the whole your not actually who you say you are thing.
Bonnie, Stefan and Damon all frown only to turn and there standing opposite the group with Joy resting on her hip was Joyce.
Stefan's eyes widen in shock he recognized that woman, she was the same woman in most of Buffy's childhood photos "Isn't that..."
"That's Buffy's mom." Damon finishes as the three of them stare at the middle child of the original three Summers sisters begins to walk towards her daughter, niece and nephew.
Elena lets out a small breath as tears fill her eyes "Aunt Joyce?"
Joyce smiles as she holds little Joyce looking in-between Elena and Jeremy "Give your aunt a damn hug kids."
And with that Buffy takes her daughter while she hugs her mom along with Jeremy and Elena all of them together again, and even though it wouldn't be for long given Bonnie would need to close the veil, the couldn't help but enjoy this moment.
"So Buffy's mom is back too?" Caroline asks in shock as she and Stefan sit in the Grill, she just couldn't believe it, as far as any of them knew Buffy's mom hadn't been supernatural yet here she was.
Stefan couldn't help but let out a small breath "Yeah." He whispers still in shock before he smiles "I've never see Buffy that happy."
Caroline smiles slightly as she watches the vampire, it was so obvious that he was still in love with the vampire Slayer "Well yeah, Little Joyce and big Joyce together in one room. One hell of a happy train."
Pausing Caroline frowns as she spots the frown on his face, they had beaten Silas, Joy was finally safe it was over, yet he wasn't happy "What's up?"
Stefan sighs and leans forward in his seat thinking back to one person he had been hoping to see today "I thought there was someone I would see today and...I didn't. That's all."
"You better mean me." A voice says from behind them, Stefan frowns and turns in his seat his eyes widening as there she was "You have got to be kidding me." He says with a smile slowly appearing on his face at the sight of her.
It was Lexi.
"Hello." Jeremy says with a smile as he bounces little Joy up and down on his knee smiling at her she looked exactly like Buffy, it was kind of creepy.
Pausing he turns to Buffy who had her head rested on her mom's shoulder, Elena's head rested on Joyce's other shoulder "Where's Klaus?"
Buffy sighs "In New Orleans. Trying to find a way to protect Joy from the witches. It's not safe for her there."
At Buffy's words, Joyce inhales slightly, this was the whole reason she was here, it was about Joy and she knew exactly what Buffy and Klaus had to do to keep their daughter safe. But...for tonight they could just be a family. Telling Buffy exactly what she had to do to keep Joy safe was going to hurt Buffy, crush her. They deserved one night of piece.
Elena smiles as Joy places her hands on Jeremy's face giggling loudly as he kisses her hands, it was kind of heartbreaking though, this is how it was supposed to be. All of them together but things had just gotten so screwed up.
Sighing she turns to her aunt "How are you? Not that we're not happy to see you but..."
"I'm not supernatural." Joyce promises as she squeezes the knees of her daughter and niece before smiling "Let's just say someone up there owed me a big favor."
"I don't care." Buffy says with a laugh "I get my mom for a day. I'll send the guy some afterlife mini muffins."
Buffy sighs as she continues to shake her screaming daughter, her mom was catching up with Jeremy and Elena downstairs, and right now to be honest Buffy was exhausted and her little girl clearly just wanted to keep her awake.
"Hey." Stefan says with a smile as he walks into her room and chuckles as he spots her bouncing Joy up and down.
Buffy turns and smiles as she spots Stefan however her eyes widen as behind Stefan another blonde appears "No way."
"Hell way!" Lexi yells with a laugh as she walks into the room and hugs the blonde, Buffy smiles as she hugs Lexi "You're back to."
Lexi chuckles "Well duh, had to check in on that one." She says gesturing to Stefan before she turns to the baby in Buffy's arms "You sure she's Klaus? She's too cute."
Buffy rolls her eyes in amusement "Great to see you too Lexi."
Lexi smiles at the blonde before waving at the little girl in the blonde's arms who stares at Lexi with her big green eyes in confusion, as though she was like who the hell are you.
Lexi touches the girl's nose before smiling and glances at Stefan who was watching Buffy, smirking slightly Lexi turns back to Buffy, "I'm gonna give you two a minute. Maybe find out some dirt from mama Summers."
As Lexi disappears Buffy groans at the idea of her mother telling people some of the stuff she got up to in her youth.
"You're so screwed." Stefan tells her with a laugh making Buffy smile before sitting down on her bed, placing Joy down "Oh yeah." She laughs as she sits down holding the bottle up to Joy's mouth.
Stefan smiles before heading further into the room and sitting on the opposite side of the bed "How are you doing?"
Buffy takes a shaky breath and crosses her legs turning to face him "Better...Stefan...thank you." When her ex-boyfriend merely frowns in confusion she sighs and glances down at Joy "You're uncle Stefan can be a little dumb."
Stefan rolls his eyes in amusement before turning to the blonde who finally continues "Thank you...if it wasn't for you when I turned it back on...I would have crumbled and I wouldn't be with her."
Stefan smiles at the blonde watching her carefully "Buffy I told you...I understand what's it's like...and I wasn't gonna let you crumble."
At his words Buffy smiles before running a hand through her hair as she does though she looks over at him and at that moment it was strange an old feeling returned as she gazed into his eyes.
Stefan himself couldn't speak as he watches the blonde that connection between them for the past 6 years was still there, like a tether between them.
However, their gaze was cut off as Joy cries again, Buffy groans and looks down at her hyper little girl "Come on Joy."
"Here." Stefan says softly taking the bottle from Buffy "Sleep I'll watch her."
Buffy couldn't help but smile, even after everything that had happened between them, all of the fights, the drama, he was still the one person that she could always count on.
Smiling gratefully Buffy lays next to Joy and Stefan lays on the other side of the little girl still holding up her bottle, as she lays there Buffy glances over at the vampire that she had loved for so long "So...we have the cure now, what you gonna do?"
"I might stick around a few more centuries." He tells her turning to face the blonde being careful of Joy who was still laid in the middle of them "Who else is gonna stop you and Klaus arguing over custody agreements."
Buffy groans, that was gonna get complicated with her here and him in New Orleans, but she would figure it out, smiling at him "So you can be Switzerland."
"Anytime."
Buffy giggles softly before glancing over at him once more smiling brightly before she finally closes her eyes, and it wasn't long before both of them were asleep Joy still wide awake in-between them playing with a stuffed animal happily.
"Would you look at that." Lexi breaths as she peaks into the room with Joyce and Elena all three of them watching as Stefan Buffy and Joy lay the two adults fast asleep with the hyper little girl in the middle.
Lexi chuckles before pulling out a camera "He drools. Great blackmail material."
Elena couldn't help but chuckle "Good to know."
"You have to put up the veil." Shelia tells her grand-daughter as once again the two of them were in the cave beneath the school, but Bonnie didn't want to. She wanted everyone to have time with their loved ones...and Jeremy was back. She wasn't too sure after seeing him that she could lose him all over again. As much as she denies it even 3 years after their break up she was still in love with him. And she couldn't lose him again.
"Not yet."
Shelia watches her grand-daughter in worry, whatever Bonnie had planned, she had a feeling it wasn't good "What are you doing, Bonnie?"
"I can bring Jeremy back!" Bonnie exclaims "I can keep him here."
Shelia's eyes fill with fear, what Bonnie was talking about was un-natural, it was against the laws of nature, it's what sent the original user of expression down a dark path and Bonnie knew exactly how dark Marianna was, she couldn't risk becoming like that.
"No you can't."
"Elena and Buffy need him." Bonnie argues as she continues to set up a circle ready to begin the spell "This was always the plan. Jeremy wasn't supposed to die."
"It was the will of nature." Shelia argues trying to make her granddaughter understand, she had already broken these laws once bringing Jeremy back, she couldn't do it again, not without a heavy price "There is no magic in this world that is strong enough to challenge it."
"I have every magic!" Bonnie screams "I have the spirits." At her words she then begins chanting causing ever candle to light a flame, the flames growing widely around her "I have expression!" She yells the flames growing even stronger while Shiela's panic grows larger "Bonnie stop it!"
Bonnie looks down at her arm and watches the black lines of dark magic begin to move underneath her skin "I am more powerful than Mary ever was. I have the darkness."
"Bonnie, don't." Sheila begs once more but Bonnie wouldn't listen she merely closes her eyes those dark lines covering her entire body now as the dark magic spread around her filling her with power.
Inhaling she then begins, it was time to bring Jeremy back "Phasmatos, raverus un animun. Phasmatos, raverus un animun. Phasmatos, raverus un animun." As she chants however she starts to feel short of breath before suddenly her heart tightens as a pain grows throughout her entire body gasping loudly she suddenly crashes to the ground.
Shelia gasps before watching her grand-daughter in horror.
"Isn't that a damn shame." Shelia turns her eyes widening as she spots a certain preacher moving towards her and her granddaughter's body "You should not be here."
