129. Never Going Back
"He's such a prick," whined Jones as she leaned against the wall.
There was a murmur of agreement from the other recruits, making Tonks roll her eyes.
Moody wasn't that bad. He had high expectations. The man was a hero. He fought in the Blood War against You-Know-Who and the Death Eaters.
"Not to mention, he isn't much of a looker," added McDaniel with a laugh.
The other recruits laughed while Tonks frowned.
While that was true, there were things more important than looks. The man was inspiring. Looks were minor issue in the grand scheme of things. There was so much more to Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody than his appearance.
And Tonks would understand the issue of appearances better than anyone else. She saw passed such vane things as looks and money. She saw the person for who they were.
With a sigh, Tonks silently mourned at the lack of depth and maturity in her fellow recruits. It was such a shame. Hopefully, they would grow up. After all, it was only a matter of time until they were aurors, out there patrolling and saving others. They needed to be the best in every way. They needed to be above such petty notions as looks and money.
"Did I say it was time for a break?" roared Moody. "Tonks, stop daydreaming."
