The streets of Reveil is empty. Devoid of any kind of life. Most of it's residence had fallen asleep by now as the time currently shows close to midnight. But to three people, the night had just started.
Gilbert, Alice and Oz are walking through the cobblestone street, eyes always on full alert. According to Pandora HQ, there was a Chain broken through to their world using The Path. The said Chain had caused numerous deaths and destructions on the outskirts of Reveil. But the problem is, it's rather elusive. And somewhat unique.
Statements from eyewitnesses revealed that the Chain was a bipedal Chain that stood nearly three meters tall. The Chain main offensive power wasn't a supernatural one, more of a nature evolution power. What makes it even more dangerous is that it was said that the Chain could literally rupture multiple black and red tendrils around its body to impale anything that stands in its path. Often times, any unfortunate victim would instantly die after the tendrils reeled back from their body leaving a large, fatal gaping hole on their body.
Alice kneels on one knee, she picks up a rather pinkish looking slice of meat from the ground. "Oi Seaweed Head! Looks like the Chain isn't too far from here" Alice informed Gilbert. "According to the report, the Chain was last seen at the industrial section of Reveil. We nearly arrive at the cement factory. We could start from there" Gilbert replied.
Oz yawns and sigh deeply. "Why are we here by the way and why Break and Sharon aren't with us? With Break's Mad Hatter and Sharon's Eques we could end the battle faster you know. I really want to sleep now". Gilbert closed his eyes. "Don't worry Oz. We'll be done in no time" He reassured his long time friend with a smile. Oz smiles back. "It's okay Gil. With you and Alice here with me, i don't mind at all. Besides, going out with you two is way more fun that just walking around the city all alone!" He stated cheerfully.
Alice stops right on her track. She heard a growl. "Wait. It's close". Gilbert draws his pistol out, checking if all the chambers in the revolver are fully loaded or not. He pulled Oz close to him. Oz also scanning his surrounding.
"Move!" Gilbert shoved both Oz and Alice to the side when the said Chain lands right where they were standing a second ago. The ground cracks when it landed, showing how easily it could crush the trio into a pulp with ease.
"Finally we meet face to face. Ugh you are way uglier than Rufus Barma's illusion of a meatball. I should call you Tumour Face" She said with disgust, facing the towering monstrosity in front of her.
The Chain is a grotesque monster. It stood almost upright if it wasn't for the fact that one of its arm is as large as its entire upper torso. The fingers were replaced with 5 muscular razor sharp claw. The other hand was a rather skinny looking one but it still pose a major danger due to the fact that it looked like a slender but powerful looking blade made out of hardened flesh.
Its entire body has a red pinkish color. The head was round while the neck, seems to be bulged out of proportion and it looked like it also had consumed a part of its face, which is why Alice gave it the Tumour Face nickname. Its legs are big and strong, capable of jumping a few stories tall with little to no effort and sprinting fast enough to catch a galloping horse. The said Chain roars loudly rattling the windows nearby.
"Gil remove the seal!" Oz ordered. Gilbert nods and place his palm on Oz's head, removing the seal planted by Break to restrain Alice's power to turn to B-Rabbit. But now with the seal removed, she can do so freely. Her body grows taller, transformed into an anthropomorphic black furred rabbit with glowing crimson eyes that wears the same attire that she wore. Alice wields her iconic scythe that stood as tall as her current body height.
"Stay back! I'll restrain this ugly fool" Alice or B-Rabbit as now said. She casts several chains that wrap itself around the Chain's body. The Chain struggles, and to her surprise, it managed to break free from her bind. The Chain suddenly put its hands on its head. Upon closer inspection, ripples made out of tendrils surging through its body. It also started to groan louder and louder before it finally extends its arms outward, roaring loudly as its entire body twitched.
"Oz! Gilbert! Get to cover!" Alice yelled. She was right. Not a second after her warning, the Chain 'explodes'. A shockwave accompanies the tendrils rupturing around its body, just like what the report said. Sensing incoming danger Alice jumps away from it onto the factory's roof. Gilbert and Oz hid behind a wall. Suddenly, a tendril bursts from between them hitting another wall in front of them. They froze unable to move an inch from the sudden event. The tendrils finally start reeling back again as it goes back inside the Chain's body.
Both Gilbert and Oz look at each other. They say the same sentence in unison.
"Well that could be worse".
On the other side of the factory Alice was fighting the Chain. To her surprise the Chain is a strong one. Unlike Trump Chains which was considered as the weakest, this Chain holds immense power that even her, B-Rabbit, the most powerful Chain ever created, is struggling a bit. After dodging another swipe from its large clawed hand, Alice swipes downward onto the Chain wounding it. It roars in pain and plunge its clawed arm to the ground. She sees a spiky ripple traveling through the ground that is getting closer and closer to her. She escaped just in time when suddenly a large group of black spikes erupted from the ground. The spike retracts back underground allowing the Chain to move once more. "Damn it! This is as a force to be reckon with!" Alice cursed. She to the ground and delivers a roundhouse kick to the Chain, sending it flying through the air before crashing against a brick wall destroying a large portion of it.
It roars once more and using its amazing strength, leaps right in front of her. Alice's quickly responded with a swing of her scythe but the Chain managed to grab the blade with its clawed hands. Alice tries to pull it back but find it almost impossible. The bipedal Chain slashed her nearly wounding her on the chest. Alice grunts in response and delivers an axs kick to the Chain's head. The Chain growls in response. With quick reflex, seeing an opening, Alice dismembers the Chain's blade like arm in one swift motion from her scythe.
But unfortunately, during that moment, the Chain also striked back. Alice grunts in pain when she felt the Chain's clawed hand struck her on the abdomen. The Chain lets out a victorius grunt and starts driving the claw deeper into her body.
"Alice!" Oz screamed seeing his best friend being stabbed by the Chain. He wanted to run but was held back by Gilbert. "No Oz! It's too dangerous! You could get yourself killed!" Gilbert said. Oz couldn't do anything but to watch as Alice struggles to escape.
The Chain's body starts rippling with the same tendrils earlier, signaling that it's about to release that same devastating ability as before but now solely focused on her. Sensing the impending danger Alicd musters all of her strength and grabs hold onto her scythe. "You dare to wound me Tumour Face?! I will gladly send you back to the Abyss in pieces! Now die!" Alice pulls herself closer allowing the claws to puncture right through her. But it also enables to decapitate the Chain with ease.
The Chain's body twitched before falling to the ground dead. The tendril ripples stopped as well. Removing herself from the hideous clawed arm, she walked towards Oz with a limp before falling to the ground transforming herself back to her human form.
"Alice!" Oz rushes towards her. He cradles her in his arms. Gilbert quickly lifts her shirt up to see if her abdomen was wounded or not. To his relief, the wound only left a blue bruise on her stomach. "One thing for sure, she'll be fine after a few days". His attention turns to the deceased Chain. "Strange. It doesn't return to the Abyss like a normal Chain should. That thing... is not from this world. Perhaps not even from the Abyss" Gilbert mused.
"We can discuss it later. Pandora members will take care of it for further inspection. Right now we must get Alice back to Rainsworth Mansion since it's closer. I am sure Sharon wouldn't mind being woken up at midnight" Oz said. Gilbert nods and carry Alice bridal style. The two left the scene, and a dead dismembered corpse in silence.
