135. I Don't Wanna to Know

Trying to suppress a groan, Helga pushed herself forward. Her feet ached, and she was exhausted, wanting nothing more than to stop and sleep for a week. She had to carry on. Everyone was relaying on her. With Godric, Rowena, and six of the other professors ill, Salazar was busy brewing potions, leaving Helga to teach classes and run the school with three other professors. It was hard – much harder than she expected.

So, Helga pushed on.

There wasn't much she could do.

This was something she could do, and when they others were better, they would be in her debt. Helga had plans to use that to her advantage. She would be taking some time of. Godric, Salazar, and Rowena could easily oversee her work and her students. They regularly commented that they could handle her job in addition to their own. That was something Helga would pay to see.

Yawning, Helga turned her attention to the third years writing down her directions on the board while a group of sixth years were sketching the nearby unicorn and a third group made up of first years were reading about magical plants. While Helga's speciality was Herbology, she was skilled in Potions, Astronomy, History, Ancient Runes, and Magical Creatures.

"Can you be our new professor?" asked a third year with hazel eyes. "You make potions fun."

There was murmur of agreement from the group of third years.

Helga smiled. "Salazar will remain your professor," she told them, "and he'll resume teaching once he's able."

There was groan as the students talked among themselves.

"Any word on when the other professors will be better?" asked a sixth year with dark hair.

"There isn't," Helga answered, softly, shooting a glance in the direction of the younger students. She didn't want to them yet.

The lack of progress and results were starting to wear on her. She was worried about her friends and her lover. She hadn't been separated from Rowena for than a few nights in years. They were going on three weeks. It was horrible.
