We had our first emergency call together as a superhero couple - it was a random apartment building fire. Now that Peter was a god and married to an Olympian his only vulnerability would be piercing wounds, like me. In fact, piercing wounds was the only vulnerability for all Olympian heroes from my reality; just like Achilles with his heel. Leaving Pegasus safely on another rooftop my husband and I punched into the burning structure to rescue people. "The flames won't hurt you now," I told Pete. He trusted me fully and dove right into it. He walked through the blaze and nothing happened to him. "Told ya!" We then got people out with super speed and determination. There were about twenty souls of all ages in that structure that needed rescuing and we gods would do our bit to get them out.

Our timing had been solid; the blaze had just started to engulf the greater structure when we'd arrived to help out. The firemen did their thing but stepped back enough to let us superheroes do ours. It was still a team effort between gods and men to save others.

Pete threw victims out of windows and shot out magical web nets that formed faster than they could fall; they hit the nets safely and were then in turned further rescued by traditional responders to be assisted further.

I had my lasso wrap around a family of five and literally using it as a lifeline flew with them dangling below me and gently lowered them to the ground to be further rescued.

The fire got worse; but our timing was better than the flames. There was an old couple left/trapped that needed rescuing. Pete and I did this together. He shot a web line to nab the old man and I threw my lasso around the old woman. We pulled them out of the burning upper floor window and got them to the ground safely. Other than some smoke inhalation they'd be fine. The fire's cause remained unknown for now.

The rest of the upper building roared as the fire totally engulfed it. We'd gotten everyone out! Everyone cheered us on the ground - responders and onlookers. I shared a high five with my husband before hugging him in front of everyone. "Spider-Man! Wonder Woman!" They repeated and cheered.

Then Pegasus came down and drew stunned looks from everyone. I remounted him and we flew off again with Peter swinging away not far behind. Our morale was at an all time high. This is why we loved being superheroes; and now we'd do it together for good. We resumed our citywide patrol.
