Chapter 137: The Guild Master of Fairy Tail Pt. 2
Everyone was still in shock, this other version of Natsu was the Guild Master?! How did that come to be?! It was like that one timeline where those from 137-C showed them the alternate Earthland where Natsu was the Guild Master of the guild and married to Cana with a daughter! Natsu was the most shock as his face was still beet red from seeing his double having ten wives and had kids with them, as well as being filled with shock over how he's the Guild Master in this other timeline.
"I can't believe this, Flamebrain is the Guild Master? How did that happen?!" Gray shouted in utter puzzlement, surprised over the fact that his fire breathing rival was somehow the master of Fairy Tail in the alternate timeline they were viewing.
"How should we know?!" Laxus responded back aloud, also caught off guard by this revelation. This was just as surprising as when they heard and saw those other versions of the pink haired idiot being the King of Fiore or the Emperor of that Alvarez place or whatever it was called again.
"Man… not only the Guild Master but has ten wives, ten hot ones to boot!" Makarov explained with a grin plastered on his face, proud of the other version of Natsu managing to grow so much to achieve such means.
Said grin then faded, as a few women like Laki, Kagura, Millianna and even Kinana glared towards the small old man, who then paled in fear from the look he was receiving from the women.
"What was that again master?" Laki questioned with a menacing aura that nearly rivaled that of Mira when the white haired woman was mad or threatening someone.
Some of the others who managed to calm down only either sighed or sweat drop as they saw Makarov try to save his own hide while acting like he didn't say that. For the old man knew that the fury of women was no laughing matter, and he preferred if he wasn't on the end of it all.
"Hmm… I wonder…" Marvell hummed aloud with a hand on her chin, looking at the alternate version of the Fire Dragon Slayer shown in the blue smoke. This grabbed some of the others' attention as they looked towards the 137-C version of their own Sky Dragon Slayer with confusion.
"Wonder what?" Evergreen asked in confusion.
'She's going to say something either perverted or outrageous isn't she?' Freed thought to himself with a blank expression, already getting a good read on the blue haired teen from another reality from what they have dealt with involving her so far.
The green haired man of the Thunder God Tribe would be proven right when Marvell spoke up once more, still seemly thinking about what she thought of.
"I wonder if any of the women who were stuck on Tenrou in this other reality will be interesting in their own Natsu now. I mean, he's got ten wives and a lot of kids so he's got that covered to be a badass, and he's also the Guild Master so no doubt he has respect and power also," Marvell stated before she snapped her fingers with her other hand, "I'm going to guess Cana, Evergreen and one of the Strauss sisters. Maybe Erza will also get taken into the fold."
'Called it.' Freed thought with a sweat drop as the mentioned women were taken back by that, with most of them aside from Evergreen blushing. Evergreen meanwhile only grew horrified from the thought.
"DON'T START WITH THAT AGAIN! I STILL HAVE DAYMARES FROM FINDING OUT ABOUT THAT ONE GRAY DATING ME!" The brown haired woman shouted in response, a tick mark on her forehead as she recalled from hearing that one reality where she ended up with the Ice Maker Mage.
Marvell ignored her however as she looked back towards the blue smoke showing the other alternate timeline.
"I just hope that other Wendy doesn't fall for that other Romeo, that would be pretty horrifying." She stated as Romeo gained a surprised yet offended look. Same thing for Wendy albeit for a different reason.
"Hey! I'm not a bad guy you know! Plus, that other me would be too old for the other her anyway." Romeo responded before putting out that fact. From the looks of things in the other timeline his alternate double was around sixteen, while Wendy was still only twelve. So that would be weird and downright creepy if anything were to happen between them.
"He's got a point. The other him would be too old for the alternate Wendy by this point wouldn't he?" Kinana asked, seeing that there was now a bit of an age gap between the two in the other timeline for such a relationship to happen anymore. Sure it was like only a four year gap, but the other Wendy was just twelve like their own Wendy.
"I'm just saying she shouldn't date you is all, either now or when she grows up so the gap isn't as looked down or weird. Wait… ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH ME YOU PERVERT?!" Marvell suddenly accused out of the blue, holding out and pointing her bat towards the dark purple haired young male, who gained wide comcials eyes before waving his hands around from the accusation.
"WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?! NO I'M NOT IN LOVE WITH YOU!" Romeo defended himself as Wendy felt small between the Rainbow Fire Mage and her crazy older counterpart who remained glaring and accusing him of such a thing.
"Oh so I'm not beautiful is that it?!" Marvell shouted back with gritted teeth.
"Wha-?! No that's not it! You're fine just the way you are!" Romeo responded; unaware he was stuck in an illogical trap set up by the female mind.
"So that's make it fine to ogle me is that it?!"
"That's not what I'm saying or doing, and you know it!"
"So I'm just some ugly girl who no one would want is what you're saying?!"
"No that's not what I- there's no right or wrong answer is there?" Romeo finally realized as it settled in, him gaining a deadpanned expression in the process.
"Well what do you know, you managed to get it right." Marvell responded with a smug manner.
"WILL BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP?!" Wendy shouted in between the two, having enough of them bickering while she was literally between the two of them in the middle of it all.
That caught nearly everyone off guard from the sudden outburst from the blue haired girl. Even Romeo and Marvell looked surprise as the two flinched from the loudness the Sky Dragon Slayer emitted, who was now breathing slightly hard from the yelling she just did. Romeo and Marvell glanced at one another before they turned away from one another, figuring that their argument was enough for the time being.
"…Uh… anyway," Bickslow started to speak up, getting over the surprise from the angry shout that came from the usually nice blue haired girl, as the black and blue haired man looked over towards the 137-C counterpart of their Sky Dragon Slayer once again, "Hey Marvell, you been to a lot of Earthlands right? Have any idea on who the dark skin women and the black haired and brown haired girls are?"
That got everyone else, except for Natsu as he was still in disbelief about being the Guild Master and blushing over how he had multiple wives and had kids with them, to wonder the same thing. Those from 137-C been to a lot of Earthlands, so they no doubt have seen version of Sarah, Swan, Sonya and Briar before right?
Marvell only gave the member of the Thunder God Tribe a deadpanned stare of her own.
"Bickslow, just because we been to a crap ton of worlds doesn't mean we know every single person that exists. Besides, usually when my team goes to other worlds there like a fifty/fifty percent chance Bisca or Knightwalker will end up killing some evil bastard on that planet… either that or they drink and have some madness party caused by Levy and Sam." Marvell responded, showing that like them, she had no idea who Sarah, Briar, Sonya and Swan were.
"…Yeah that sounds about right." Gajeel spoke up with a casual expression, the Iron Dragon Slayer can imagine that fits perfectly with those from 137-C, while Levy looked worried and a bit concern over what a madness party is. She wanted to ask, but afraid of the answer she will receive, so she will remain quiet on that.
"Can we talk about this more later? Our doubles in the other timeline are about to recover from their own shock." Mira spoke up, pointing out to the others about the other timeline in the blue smoke.
That got everyone to drop the chats before they all focused on the other alternate timeline being shown in the blue smoke once more. Natsu snapped out of his own daze to also refocus on the other alternate reality, wanting to know how his older counterpart received all of those scars, looked so differently, and became Guild Master of the guild.
The sudden loud shout emitted by the Tenrou Group was enough to grab the attention of Natsu, Swan, Sonya, Briar, Zin and Asce, while the pink haired man with the white wolf pelt over his head and back looked still hugging and bent down to greet his kids, with the group looking up only for them to widen their eyes in surprise from the sight. Natsu's shock then went away before a large grin formed on his face.
"Well what do you know? The dumb demon was right after all!" Natsu emitted a chuckle as he stood up, his children still hanging around him and their mothers while he ignored the voice of a certain demon insulting him in his mind. He'll get to him later.
"So yourself?" Zin questioned with a raised eyebrow, as Natsu sent a small glare towards the white haired one arm man.
"You know what I mean Zin." The pink haired man responded, while the one arm warrior remained unfazed by the look.
"Natsu, you know them?" Sonya couldn't help but ask, as Ashia wanted to be held by her mother who gladly did just that, holding her child in her arms. Natsu turned towards the light brown haired woman and the others.
"Yeah, do you remember those that we thought we lost on Tenrou like we told you about? These guys are them." Natsu told her and the others in his group, sensing that they may be unaware about who the others were at first. A small smile remained present on Natsu's face during this exchange of words.
"Really now?" Asce spoke up with interest, the armored knight gaining a wide grin though no one could see it due to his helmet.
With this now known, figuring that he would greet the returning lost Mages, the knight walked over towards the still in place and shocked Tenrou group before stopping right in front of where Gildarts was standing. Holding a hand out for a handshake, a smile was present on the armored man's face though none could really see it since again due to his helmet.
"It's an honor to meet you all in person. My name is Asce, I have heard a lot about you from the others." Asce introduced himself to the orange haired man and to the others, who were all still wide eyed over this whole revelation about Natsu and all.
"Uh… it's nice to meet you too Asce," Gildarts managed to reply with a smile of his own, shaking the other man's hand for a moment before they let go, "Could you give me a second please?"
Not waiting for a response, the orange haired father of Cana walked over towards where Natsu stood… before he got down onto his knees like an idiot with anime tears streaming down his face.
"NATSU HOW DID YOU MANAGED TO GET TEN HOT SMOKING WIVES?! TEACH ME YOUR WAYS!" Gildarts begged like an imbecile. In his life he never managed to succeed at getting the attention of women and fallen in love with him like Natsu managed to do so. Hearing him call them that got said women to glare towards the orange haired man while the children looked confused by the other man's actions.
"THAT'S THE FIRST THING YOU'RE GOING TO SAY TO HIM?!" Cana shouted in utter disbelief and annoyance from this. Natsu and everyone else managed to move on with their lives for ten years and have changed greatly yet THAT is the first thing he's going to ask him?!
Cana face palmed from seeing this, also feeling the same annoyance and ridiculousness that the alternate version of her father was acting and asking for.
"That sounds about right for him." Cana muttered, trying to cool the tick mark that formed on her forehead down from seeing this.
The others couldn't help but nod in agreement with the Card Mage, as Observer was confused but simply chalked it up as another mortal thing he would never understand.
Natsu blinked from the sight before him before he chuckled, grabbing everyone's attention once more before he looked down at the former Ace of Fairy Tail with a soft smile, the kind that to those of the Tenrou group was unfamiliar with. To them, Natsu was usually loud and energetic, not looking this soft spoken and at ease. It was weird.
"Still the same old as ever are you Gildarts? I guess it makes sense since to all of you, none of you aged due to being frozen for the past decade." Natsu responded as Gildarts got back up onto his feet, a large grin present on the other man's face.
"True that! But I have to say, you've grown a lot haven't you?" Gildarts questioned while he remained grinning like an idiot, before his expression soften as a faint look of concern formed on his face, eyeing the numerous scars that littered the exposed upper body, "Looks like you've had your share or troubles though…"
"It's fine, they're just scars. Nothing major." Natsu waved him off with his armored furnace covered hand, a smile still on his face.
"Sexy scars if I may add." Swan stated as she walked over and leaned onto Natsu's right, getting a small blush to form on his face form the words. It didn't help that the rest of his wives also nodded in agreement as they remained close by to their husband.
Gildarts wanted to ask more, eyeing the closed and missing eye that the pink haired male possessed, however he didn't want to push it in case it was hard to talk about. Instead, his eyes moved over towards the large blade that covered the Fire Dragon Slayer's left hand.
"Anyway… what's with the bladed fist weapon? I never think to take you as a weapon user." Gildarts asked as a grin formed on his face.
However, that went away as many others including Natsu lost their smiles, puzzling the Tenrou group. Natsu gaining a neutral look while the others looked a bit downed, Briar looking the most sorrowful of the bunch. The children meanwhile looked puzzled.
"Daddy, why's the other man talking about your hand like that?" Sumire asked her father with puzzlement.
"No, not your daddy's hand, the weapon that he has over it," Gildarts told the violet colored haired girl before looking back towards Natsu, "I mean, you're here in the guild hall surrounded by family, no need to remain armed you know?" He replied in hopes of lighting the mood.
Natsu remained having a neutral expression on his face before he lifted his left arm up, used his armored up right hand to grab at the base of the large deadly blade to detach and unhook it, before taking it off…
…Which caused the Tenrou Group to gain wide eyes of shock and horror when they saw where a hand should be a stump instead was present. A few like Lucy and Lisanna couldn't help but unconsciously move their hands to their mouths from seeing their old friend missing a hand. Natsu wasn't bothered, having seen such expressions before as did the others seeing such an injury. The kids were also used to it, knowing about it since when they were younger.
Everyone, while they suspected it was going to be something similar to what transpired in that one reality where Natsu butchered his own hand to break free and go save Juvia, it was still shocking to actually see the damage done. So something similar must have happened in this timeline for him to go to such lengths to severe his own hand?
"Does that answer your question?" Natsu asked before he went on to attach and hook it back onto his arm, "And before anyone asks, I only did what I had to do to escape and to save the life of one of the women I love. And no, I don't regret it and I wouldn't hesitate to repeat it all over again if I have too." Hearing that got Briar to smile softly, as did the other married Dragneel women, knowing that he was willing to go so far for any of them. While they couldn't help but worry over his recklessness, it was one of the many things that they couldn't help but drew them in towards him in the first place.
With that done, a soft smile once more formed on his face as he patted the other man's shoulder with his armored hand.
"Alright, enough about me for now, I think a celebration is in order don't you all think?" Natsu asked aloud, his eyes looking at everyone else as most of those in the guild hall aside from the Tenrou group got over the sudden downer moment as they all grinned widely.
"Yes, I think such a thing should be well celebrated." Briar agreed with her husband as did the rest of the other Mages.
"Yeah! Let us celebrate our friends return!" Millianna cheered aloud.
"YEAH!" Most of the Fairy Tail Mages agreed, while Zin only grumbled over it, not a fan of such parties. Seeing the excitement got those who were stuck on Tenrou to smile a bit also, despite still shocked over what they saw with Natsu having a missing hand and still having a crap ton of questions that needed answers.
But for now, they were willing to have a bit of fun first.
"Take it guys!" Sarah shouted towards the group of people who were playing the rock music earlier.
Taking the cue, they all quickly got back onto the stage before blasting more rock into the air, getting everyone into the mood before the others dragged those who got stuck on Tenrou into the fun. Natsu meanwhile was being dragged by his kids as they wanted to play, to which the father of eleven had no problem doing so. Spending time with his kids always brought a smile to his face.
The sight got them to smile, glad to see everyone having fun despite no doubt the questions their doubles will have, or at least the doubles of those who were trapped on Tenrou at least.
"Even a decade later in this other timeline, things don't seem to have chance haven't they?" Erza noticed with a smile, seeing the guild managing to stay strong and remain as crazy as ever.
"Yeah, but a lot has too hasn't it? There's a lot we don't know about." Kagura replied, as there were plenty of questions and confusion that plagued the Mages in the guild hall, curious to see if they will get more answers for such confusion they hold.
"I want to know what happened that got me to get prosthetic limbs." Alzack admitted, curious yet worried over what may have happened that caused him to need such replacement limbs. Bisca nodded in agreement, wanting to know how she got that robotic eye that her alternate counterpart possess.
"I want to know how Salamander became Guild Master! Like how could that have possibly happen?!" Gajeel shouted, still up in arms about that and wanted to know how this came to be in this alternate timeline.
Natsu was also just as curious about this, wondering how he of all people managed to become Guild Master. The pink haired male also wondered how the heck he managed to land ten wives, four of them being present in the guild hall where he stood. That got him to blush again from the thought but luckily no one noticed.
"Probably just became a much better badass and a better inspiration to the others, causing him to take the mantle." Marvell guessed with a shrug, as he was used to seeing timelines where Natsu was the Guild Master. Granted she never saw a version of Natsu where he looked this different nor a timeline where those trapped on Tenrou were there for ten years instead of seven, but the basic idea was the same.
"I want to know where my double is at. I can't find them at all." Wakaba asked as Macao, Reedus, Nab and Vijeeter nodded in agreement.
"Do you think some of all of this has something to do with this Dark War that apparently took place in this other Earthland?" Lucy couldn't help but ask, wondering if that was the case.
"I guess we'll have to wait and hopefully get some answers as we keep watching." Makarov figured, knowing that they will only get any potential answers as long as they keep watching.
With that everyone remained glued to the blue smoke once more. They didn't care how long they have to wait; they were willing to go through a bunch of partying first before hopefully get some answers to their questions about this other alternate timeline.
'A SHORT WHILE LATER'
While people were still having a blast with one another, it has settled down slightly. During that time Gajeel attempted to challenge the music players to a sing off only to be dragged off the stage by Levy before he could try anything to hurt their ears with his awful singing. Zin mostly kept to himself at the bar, not much of a fan of such celebrations, finding them to be a waste of time all the while keeping a close eye on the returned Tenrou Group. Romeo and Chelia were currently in small talk with Axol and Asce about who knows what with smiles on their faces. Natsu was with his wives at a table talking amongst one another with soft smiles of their own, although Happy was also with Natsu wanting to be with the one he missed. Their kids and Asuka were nearby at their own table, having slightly calm down from the excitement around them. They were either drawing something, eating something or in the case of Rebecca drinking another mango drink, or simply chatting to themselves about things kids like to talk about. Like how much they wanted candy. Candy was good.
Meanwhile the Tenrou Group were at their own tables for the time being, each table that held them being aside to one another. Nearby Alzack, Bisca, Jet, Droy, Max and Warren were also with their returned friends from being frozen for a decade.
"I still can't believe how much has changed since we've been gone." Evergreen admitted, seeing the changes that Magnolia and everyone has gone through during the past decade. The brown haired woman was still trying to handle the fact they were all frozen for that long, not used to it all just yet.
"Yeah, a lot has changed since you all been away. But I'm sure you all will get use to it." Bisca told them with a smile on her face.
"But it's so weird don't you think?" Mira had to admit as she looked over to where Natsu was at with Kinana, Laki and the other married women, "I could never imagine that Natsu of all people would become Guild Master."
"Or become a hit with the ladies. Who knew he could manage to woo ten women to be his wives?" Gildarts stated with a proud grin on his face as the other guys of Tenrou became jealous or puzzled by how such a thing managed to be done. After all, Natsu was extremely dense or at least he used to be. Just what had happened that caused Natsu to understand romance?
"He didn't woo them Gildarts, they all basically made the first move from what we heard and seen." Alzack responded, getting the others to be surprised by this.
"Huh?" Gray questioned back with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, I mean Natsu wasn't exactly trying to find women just to hit on. We all know he was never like that. It kind of just… happen either started by the girls or it was a mutual thing." Warren told them.
"It still surprising to hear that idiot managing to get girls, and ten at that. Didn't think things would change that much." Laxus had to admit, though kind of surprised and slightly jealous. Of course, no one needed to know that.
"But he's not the only one," Levy stated before looking over at their friends once more, "I mean, look at you Droy, you've changed a lot yourself like everyone else did."
Droy couldn't help but puff up his chest in pride as Jet glared at him in jealousy from getting Levy's attention. However, neither would still succeed in actually winning Levy's affections, of course neither were aware of this.
"I supposed I did. Went through hard training to get to where I am now," Droy responded before he relaxed and rubbed the back of his head in a sheepish manner, "Though… I will admit beforehand this wasn't the case always. I have had a bit of a bump before I got it together."
"That's an understatement. When we all thought you died… well it hit all of us hard you know? Droy here ended up constantly eating out of guilt and sorrow to the point he got super fat." Max shared to the Tenrou group.
"I wasn't that fat." Droy defended himself. Sure, he had gained some weight but it wasn't that much.
"Dude you had put a whale to shame with how much fat you had." Jet joked which got a tick mark to form on the Plant Magic user's forehead while glaring at his teammate.
"What?! I'm not fatter than a whale! I work out every day thank you very much!" Droy exclaimed, hating how his double was insulted while he seemed to have gotten fat at one point in his own timeline.
"No you don't." Jet responded with a deadpanned expression, getting Droy to gain a tick mark to form on his forehead and glaring towards the orange haired male.
The others only shook their heads at this while Levy merely sighed from her team's antics before looking back to the blue smoke showing the alternate timeline once more.
A few like Gajeel and the Thunder God Tribe couldn't help but laugh from hearing that insult, while Levy only sweat dropped from this.
"Anyway," Freed started to speak, getting the others to look towards the green haired man as he went on, "If you don't mind me asking, how exactly Natsu ended up becoming the fourth Guild Master? It… seems unusual for someone like him to obtain such a title considering how he used to be like."
"Fifth Guild Master actually." Alzack corrected him, getting the Tenrou group to be puzzled.
"The fifth?" Erza questioned.
"Yes, the fifth. Macao actually took over as the fourth Guild Master for the time being, though despite his best efforts he didn't do well, not like we were any help during that rough time. It was only thanks to Natsu coming back and practically forcing us to stop moping around did he hand the title over to him," Max stated before he gained a thinking expression, "Then again we all practically forced Natsu to take the title even when he felt like he was undeserving of it. Looking back at it though it was kind of funny."
"So Macao took over for a bit…," Makarov hummed in interesting, before he figured he would ask since he had noticed something during their celebration, "Speaking of which where is Macao? I haven't seen him, Wakaba, Nab, Vijeeter or Reedus since we got here. Are they out on jobs?"
That got the five Fairy Tail Mages to widen their eyes a bit before a frown formed on their faces, puzzling the Tenrou group from their reactions. Alzack and Bisca looked over towards where Romeo was at for a moment before they looked back to the others once more.
"Yeah uh… dead. They're… they're dead." Jet told them, looking at the ground as a sorrowful frown remained on their faces.
"WHAT?!" The mentioned Mages that heard their alternate doubles no longer living in this other timeline shouted at once, "WE DIED?!"
That shocked everyone else as Romeo looked on with slight sorrow, unsure how to feel about that. He frowned as he realized that his older alternate version of himself no doubt went through a hard time from loosing his father. Marvell also frowned, sure while she saw them to be lame, it was still versions of people who were apart of Fairy Tail. Hearing any versions of anyone apart of their guild dying was sad to hear.
Unless the versions were evil, then in that case she couldn't give a sh*t about it and instead celebrate it.
"They… died? Do you think it has something to do with that Dark War we heard about?" Millianna couldn't help but wonder, wanting to know if this unknown war was behind it or not.
"It could be possible. But just what exactly was this Dark War we heard about?" Laki also wondered.
No one really had an answer to that and simply hoped that they get one as they continue to watch this other timeline.
The Tenrou Group became shocked and sorrowful from hearing this. Some of their friends… died? That can't be true could it? What could have happened to take away the life of those they knew?
"They're… gone?" Cana questioned as she tried to not shed a few tears like some other others were trying to do.
The five Mages nodded as they leaned in their seats, somber expressions on their faces.
"They died during the Dark War… that nightmarish war that had took so much, everything had change because of that conflict. So many had died." Alzack managed to respond, rubbing his right metallic arm, remembering the pain and horrors they had to go through during the war.
The others noticed this as realization settled in, their eyes widening further from this revelation. It was during this Dark War that Alzack lost his limbs? And that's how Bisca lost her eye? Did Natsu gain all of his scars, lost of his eye and his hand during this unknown conflict?
"Hey, how about we drop that for the time being? Today's is supposed to be a happy day after all." Bisca tried to cheer everyone up. Now wasn't the time to get all down about the past.
The others managed to nod, though it was still clear that they were troubled by what they had just learn.
"…So uh… if I may ask, who's the black haired chick over there if I may ask?" Bickslow asked as he pointed at where Sarah was at, figuring he and the others would try to know those that they don't recognize starting with her. Looking towards where he was pointing, the others raised eyebrows.
"Oh, you mean Sarah. Natsu ended up meeting her a short time after he was founded and brought back from Tenrou Island." Jet told them.
"Ah, so she's a Mage then." Lucy asked with a smile on her face.
"Uh, no she's not a Mage." Droy responded, puzzling the others before him.
"Really? Then she must be a strong warrior who doesn't use Magic then." Mira guessed.
"No, she's not that either." Bisca replied back.
This only confused the Tenrou group even more. So many of them just started to guess to see who Sarah was and what she was like hoping to have one of them correct. And it went a little something like this with Alzack the one answering the questions.
"Did she come from some horrible past and escape when Natsu found her?"
"No."
"Is she a princess that left her kingdom to start a new life away from the burdens of royalty?"
"No."
"Is she a lost heir to all dragons or some sh*t?"
"Definitely not."
"Is she secretly the queen of all shellfish?"
"What? That doesn't even make any sense."
Needless to say the Tenrou Mages were all but puzzled at this point.
"Then who is she and what does she do?" Levy questioned, utterly confused and not knowing what kind of life Sarah has or had before meeting Natsu.
"She uh… she owns a line of clothing stores and a fashion brand." The husband of Bisca told them.
The others blinked in confusion before their eyes widened in a comical manner.
"Wait, you mean she's basically just a normal citizen?!" Elfman shouted in shock, finding that to be surprising.
"Yeah…?" Bisca responded, confused by their shock from this not really shocking revelation with a raise eyebrow, "She was just a fangirl of Natsu's who worked in a clothing store, one that she herself now owns, and asked him out. He said yes and it hit off from there. Why is her being normal earth shattering to you guys?"
"Well I mean… it's just surprising to hear that Natsu dated and is now married to someone normal… it doesn't seem right." Cana admitted. Like, what kind of normal citizen person with a normal life would want to get involve with someone like Natsu?
Gray couldn't help but let out a low growl, which grabbed the other's attention before he stood up, his eyes now set on where Natsu was located.
"This is all stupid, this is Natsu we're talking about. There's no way he could have become the Guild Master like this. In fact, I bet that I can still beat him!" Gray announced aloud, cracking his knuckles as hearing this received different reactions from those around him. The Tenrou group merely sweat drop from this, figuring that Natsu would accept like he used to do. While the others looked at the Ice Maker Mage as if he had lost his mind.
"I wouldn't try that Gray." Warren warned the dark blue haired young man.
The black haired man's words would be ignored however, as Gray got up and started to march his way over towards where the pink haired wolf pelt wearing man was at along with his wives. Erza would normally would have done something to stop it, but considering it's been a long time for the others not on Tenrou, she figured no doubt Natsu would want to fight his rival once more like before.
"…I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think my double is making a mistake here." Gray stated, seeing how his alternate version of himself about to go challenge the alternate version of his fire breathing rival.
Natsu looked at his rival as if he had grown a second head. An imaginary question mark appearing over the pink haired male's head from hearing this.
"Huh? Why Ice Princess?" Natsu couldn't help but ask. He figured that Gray cheer on a version of himself to fight against a version of himself.
"Natsu, for us and some of the others it's been a whole decade. No doubt the other version of you has gotten much more powerful compared to those still stuck on that island for the ten years." Kagura spoke up to sate the Fire Dragon Slayer's confusion. A small yet visible blush formed on her face due to how a version of herself was with another version of the pink haired young man in this other world. Sure she was sharing him with others, but it was still embarrassing to see.
"I bet Salamander will accept the challenge anyway." Gajeel figured as he crossed his arms. After all, Guild Master or not, there was no doubt the pink haired idiot he called a rival wouldn't turn down a fight.
"HEY FLAMEBRAIN! FIGHT ME!" Gray shouted aloud as he closed in, getting everyone else's attention in the building when they saw him approaching the pink haired Guild Master.
Hearing this got Natsu and his wives to be puzzled for a moment before they turned towards where Gray was, who was now standing a few feet away from where Natsu and the women were sitting at.
"You… want to fight Natsu?" Kagura questioned, not liking how he was interrupting her and the other women's time with her husband.
"Your darn right I do! Listen Flamebrain, I don't care if it's been a decade or care if you're the Guild Master! I bet I can take you on one by one just like before! So get up and fight!" Gray tried to goat the pink haired man into fighting him, since that would always work before.
Natsu looked at him, blinking for a moment… before he let out a hearty laugh, utterly puzzling Gray and the Tenrou group. Ceasing it, Natsu looked back towards the dark blue haired male with a soft smile.
"Sorry Gray, it's just been a long time before being challenge by you like that. Time does sure fly doesn't it? But if you want a fight you'll have to look elsewhere. I don't really get involve with stuff like that anymore." Natsu admitted with his smile still on his face. Sure, everyone else can brawl to their hearts content, but for him it just doesn't do it anymore.
A record scratch could be heard in everyone's mind as they saw this take place with wide comical eyes. Well except for Observer as he was just puzzled by everyone's reaction, and Marvell simply looked puzzled by the answer the alternate version of Natsu gave.
"…Did… did just reject the opportunity to fight Gray?" Lucy questioned as she shook her head to see if she was mishearing things.
"Huh, that's interesting. Usually in worlds where he's the Guild Master he would gladly get involve in a fight or argument." Marvell shared. Guess this version of the pink haired young man was just more mature than most apparently.
"But this is Natsu, he would never miss out the chance to fight Gray!" Happy shouted aloud, finding this to be alarming.
"Is it really that big of a deal?" Observer couldn't help but ask in confusion.
"YES!" Nearby everyone shouted aside from Natsu, the Mermaid Heel Mages and Marvell shouted, causing those who didn't aside from Observer to flinch from the loudness of it all. The Constellar figured this was just yet another thing to the list about mortals he would never understand.
Gray had to take a doubletake before he looked at Natsu as if he had said something stupid. Nearby those who were trapped on Tenrou for the past decade had wide comical eyes as they heard Natsu say that. Did Natsu of all people refuse to fight Gray? What the heck was going on?!
"…What?" Gray muttered out, shock still filling his body as Natsu stood up from his seat. Walking over towards the dark blue younger man, Natsu place his armored furnace like hand on one of his former rival's shoulders with a smile still on his expression.
"Hey, it's alright. I'm sure many of the others here would love to fight you if you provoke them enough. You should see how far Romeo can throw a person, it's funny to watch." Natsu told him, recalling a time during a brawl Romeo launched Droy from the guild and into the nearby forest. It was fun to watch.
Gray blinked on more in confusion, refusing to believe this is the same Natsu he knew.
"Who are you and what have you done to Flamebrain?" Gray questioned in an accused manner, getting Natsu to chuckle once more from hearing this.
"Oh he's still here Gray. He just grew up a bit that's all." Natsu responded, patting Gray on the back before he remembered something.
Looking over towards where Zin was, Natsu started to speak aloud for him to hear him.
"Hey Zin, can I talk to you for a moment? It's about what we discussed with the Queen involving the remnants of the Dark Empire in Fiore." Natsu told the one arm and one eye man, who merely nodded in understanding as he stood up from his spot.
Looking back at his wives, he walked over to them and gave them quick kisses before telling them that he'll be right back. After telling the same thing to his kids he and Zin headed upstairs to one of the higher levels of the building so no one could disturb them. Thus leaving everyone else to their own devices.
"Only with Zin?" Sayla couldn't help but question with confusion. Why only discuss about what they talked to the Queen about with the one arm white haired man.
"Probably due to how one of the holdouts they found in Fiore involve some ancient burial grounds of Zin's old Empire. You know how he feels about that." Briar responded, knowing how when he first heard it he looked ready to murder someone. Then again Zin always looked ready to murder someone.
"Such a thing from long ago still exists?" Brandish questioned with a raised eyebrow. She thought everything about the ancient Empire Zin descended from was now long gone. Yet something still stood even after so many years? After the Dark War?
"Apparently." Swan responded as she took a sip from her drink.
The Tenrou group eventually made their way over towards where the ten women and everyone else was at, sitting at closer tables so they all could listen in and talk to one another better when Gray spoke up after getting over his surprise about Natsu turning his challenge down.
"What are you all talking about?" Gray couldn't help but ask aloud, getting the attention of others.
He would get an answer when Axol joined the conversation, as he Asce, Romeo and Chelia made their way over to everyone else was at to be apart of the talk.
"They're talking about something that once belonged to an ancient empire from tens of thousands of years ago that once ruled over the majority of what is now Isghar. Zin is a descendant from those who once ruled it before it eventually fallen." The beige haired man answered, getting the others to look towards him.
"An ancient empire?" Levy questioned with confusion.
"Yeah," Chelia spoke up to answer the blue haired female's questions, getting her and the others to look over at the Sky God Slayer, "It was called the Imana Empire. It was one of the first civilizations to ever come to be on Earthland alongside a few others known civilizations. While most ruins of it were lost to history, the very few that were discovered helped our world learn about the existence of this once massive and grand empire."
This surprised the Tenrou group, they never heard about this before. So needless to say this was both interesting and amazing to hear about.
"The Inama Empire? I don't think I ever heard of such a thing." Lucy admitted, never having seen anything about this suppose massive empire that once ruled over the majority of what is known as Ishgar.
"It probably just exists in this other timeline then." Freed figured, as many others nodded in agreement with that statement.
"You would be wrong mortal." Observer spoke up, causing everyone to turn towards the living constellation once more with surprised expressions.
"Wait, you mean that this empire did exists here in our own world at one point?" Millianna asked with surprised, with Observer nodding in confirmation to the brown haired cat-like woman's questions.
"Correct mortal," Observer stated before he went on to explain further, with everyone keeping close attention on what the living constellation was about to explain, "Just like what we heard in the other alternate timeline, the Inama Empire was one of the first civilizations to rise up amongst humans. I would know this as before I became dormant in the device use to see these other worlds, I had seen the rise of this empire in my own eyes. They were a brutal people, sacrificing their enemies and even their own kin to appeal to what they called the Nature Gods. Over time however the empire, desperate for more power to fight against their enemies, either it be mere barbarians or against the few other empires that have risen alongside the Inama, slaughtered and sacrifice the very spirits that they previously saw as sacred and obtained their power. Unfortunately I do not know what ended up happening that cause their civilization to fall as I became dormant when it no doubt happened, but beforehand even with what I have witness the empire lasted for over a thousand years strong when I chose to slumber."
Hearing this surprised everyone in the building, even Marvell was interested as she never heard about such a thing. So, this empire did exist at one point in their own Earthland, and it was one of the first civilizations to ever form and grow? Could it be that this Zin guy might exist here in their own world also then?
"Whoa… I never knew that." Levy admitted, disappointed in herself for not knowing about something like this.
"Me either," Marvell also admitted, "But I highly doubt this is the case back home for me. I bet this Inama Empire never even existed in the first place back home."
"Still, this is interesting to learn. But how come I never heard or learn about it before?" Cana wondered aloud, figuring that they would have learned something like this at one point if it was one of the first cradles of civilizations to form on the planet.
Actually, now that the brown haired Card Mage thought about it, none of them really knew history that went pass the four hundred year mark did they? At least she did, never really been taught or found much about life and history before four hundred years ago during the rise of Zeref and Acnologia.
Everyone also wondered the same before they pushed it to the back of their minds for the time being, choosing to once more focus on the alternate timeline being shown in the blue smoke.
"Wow… I never knew that." Levy had to admit, never hearing about such an empire before.
That puzzled Asce, who if it weren't for the helmet he wore on his head everyone would see him raise an eyebrow in confusion.
"Wait, you never heard or read about it before? Didn't any of you learn it in history or something?" The knight couldn't help but ask. Back home in the nation of Kalavar, they were taught even at a young age about the first cradles of civilizations such as the Inama and the few others that also rose alongside the ancient empire that Zin descended from.
"I don't think they were ever taught much since many don't exactly have a normal life to attend school and all of that." Kinana admitted, as she herself never really had a normal life to learn normally, what with her being turned into a snake and losing her memory originally and all.
That got Asce to nod in understanding, knowing that from what he learned about those from Tenrou from the others who told him about them, many of those who now stand before him had difficult lives. It wasn't like they had the time to really focus about learning such ancient history and knowledge.
"Uh, anyway, let's change the subject. There's something I've been curious about since we got back here…" Makarov admitted as she walked over towards the table where the ten married women to Natsu were at, while the kids nearby were no longer paying attention and were back into whatever they were doing in the first place.
"And what would that be?" Laki questioned her old Guild Master.
Makarov remained having a serous expression on his face as he asked this next important question.
"How did you all managed to break Natsu's density? He was never really the brightest when it came to noticing those of the opposite sex." Makarov wanted to know, his curiosity driving him to understand how the once dense Fire Dragon Slayer managed to notice and marry ten women and have kids with them.
Everyone else merely gave the small old man a deadpanned stare.
"…Really? That's what you're going to ask first?" Laxus couldn't help but ask his grandfather, still having the same expression as did the rest of the Tenrou group.
The ten women meanwhile blinked in confusion. Even Laki and Kinana looked puzzled before the two laughed a little it, getting some of the others to be confused.
"What do you mean? He seemed pretty aware when we first me him. Oh I just remember how his face lit up like a Christmas tree when we first met. It was adorable." Swan recalled, while Sonya looked at her fellow former Stella citizen with a blank expression.
"Didn't he accidentally run into you while you were bathing in a lake completely naked? Of course he's going to react like that." Sonya pointed out, recalling how Swan first met the pink haired man before she herself met him.
"Hey, he acted all shy and embarrassed as he did, but I know he enjoyed the view." Swan responded with a smile on her face, recalling the event when she first me the love of her life.
"Didn't you say you freaked out and punch him in the face, knocking him out?" Briar couldn't help but point out, recalling how they were told how Swan and Sonya originally first met Natsu.
The white haired dark skin woman was merely given a glare by the Spinning Magic user. She apologized afterwards when he woke up. Besides, considering the state he was in when she first met her when that happened she felt guilty for a good while afterwards.
"Anyway… to answer your question Makarov," Laki started to say to the small old man, though the third Guild Master found it weird now she referred to him as his name instead of master. Sure he knew why obviously but it still felt weird, "Natsu wasn't actually dense, he just kept to himself for the most part and not act like a pervert."
The Tenrou group blinked from hearing this before they all gained disbelief faces.
"I'm sorry what? You're saying that Flamebrain was aware about romance and all that crap?!" Gray shouted in shock, as the rest of those who were stuck on Tenrou were also shocked by this revelation. Are they hearing this right? Natsu who they all thought was dense… wasn't actually dense in the first place? What kind of sorcery was this?
"He was Gray, he was just good at hiding any embarrassment or feelings he had. Though it does become obvious when a woman tries hard enough to get his attention." Kinana admitted, recalling how she found that out due to a small incident between her and Natsu before those on Tenrou even left all those years ago. It was embarrassing for all who were involve, which in this case was just her and Natsu, but hey, he seemed to enjoy the view he got despite how he fainted out of embarrassment.
Those frozen on Tenrou for the past decade were still surprised over this, so Natsu did understand things like romance and sex apparently, he just manage to act like he didn't.
"Uh… speaking about romance… how did all of you get with him? And how do you all manage to well you know… share him like this?" Erza couldn't help but ask with a blush on her face. While she herself did not share any feelings for the pink haired male, it was still interesting to find out how these other women manage to make it work between them.
"It's not that difficult," Brandish spoke up, getting them to look at the green haired bob cute style woman as she went on, "We love him, he loves us."
"…That's it?" Juvia questioned with a raised eyebrow, "But how do you all manage to share his attention on each of you? And isn't a relationship like this looked down upon? How does the rest of society or other people think? Doesn't it bother you?"
At those questions each of the ten women gained annoyed expressions, which didn't go unnoticed by everyone else as Millianna was the next one to speak up with an annoyed tone in her face.
"First of all, we don't give a f**k what society and what everyone else thinks. We're not shoving it down anyone's throat so if they have a problem with us loving the same man then they can go f**k themselves for all we care. Second of all, Natsu always manages to spend time with all of us on even ground while making sure our kids get the attention they need. We love him and he loves us, there's not much else to say. This isn't rocket science." The brown haired cat-like woman stated, catching a few like Erza off guard by the harsh language she used about what others may think about them and their harem status.
Marvell grinned from hearing this while Natsu, Kagura, Millianna, Laki and Kinana only blushed harder from all of this. Some of the other women were merely jealous as they sent glares towards the four mentioned women, but thankfully no one else seemed to notice this.
"Good for them, not taking sh*t from anyone or caring for what they think. It's the same thing back home." The blue haired teen from 137-C stated with a proud smile on her face.
"…You know now that I think about it, I wonder how the other version of Salamander managed to handle them when they all got pregnant." Gajeel wondered aloud.
That got many of the men to shake a little in fear. Having to deal with a pregnant woman if she was angry was one thing, but having to deal with ten of them? Now that's nightmare fuel right there. Only Natsu and Romeo didn't think this as for Natsu, he was too busy blushing like an idiot while Romeo was just confused about the whole thing. To the dark purple haired young male, he didn't see why that was scary if multiple women were pregnant.
The Tenrou group could only nod from this, seeing how judging from their reactions they might have gotten some trouble due to their relationship.
"So uh… while this is neat to hear and all, I have some other questions if you don't mind me asking." Freed spoke up, getting the others to turn their gazes over towards the green haired man while the ten wives of Natsu calmed down from their annoyance.
"What may that be?" Romeo asked, as Freed went on to do just that.
"Well, it's about Natsu. How… how did he lose his hand? Where did all of those scars come from? And what happened to his eye?" He asked, knowing that they would have to find out about this sooner or later.
That got the atmosphere in the room to drop a bit as many gained frowns, especially on those like Briar who looked incredibly guilty for some unknown reason. This puzzled the Tenrou group as worried expressions also appeared on their faces.
"I… know that this is a hard subject, but please, tell us what happened to Natsu during these years. How did he end up the way he is now?" Makarov asked in a gentle voice, not wanting to risk the chance of upsetting anyone over their need to know what happened to the fifth Guild Master to gain such wounds.
Everyone's attention was fully grabbed once more as they too wished to know, Natsu more than anyone among them. Just what happened to his other self to receive all of this injuries that he's been inflicted with. From what they heard earlier, his alternate double severed his own hand to save on of the women he married with, but what exactly took place that forced him to do such a thing? Was it like that timeline they saw where he butchered his hand to save Juvia and be free from the shackles?
It was still silence for a moment before Asce was the one who spoke up, getting them to look towards his direction.
"How about we start at the very beginning, when Natsu was spared from remaining trap on Tenrou Island like the rest of you were. We will tell you everything not just with Natsu but what has been happening to the world since the time you were stuck." The knight figured, might as well tell them all the major things that happened and not just about Natsu.
The Tenrou group nodded in agreement, wishing to have answers to all the questions they spoke and unspoken.
"Let us start with a question, have any of you ever heard of the demon named E.N.D?" Asce asked them, puzzling the formerly time frozen Mages from the question.
"E.N.D?" Levy asked, not sure who that was.
"E.N.D was a demon like no other created by Zeref four hundred year ago. He was not Etherious like Sayla and the other demons he created were, using a foul power that came from beyond the world. But while the Etherious for the most part merely did what Zeref wished for and cause destruction, E.N.D fought against any aggressor that he believed harmed the innocent, either they be human, dragon or demon. Now, what if I told you that Natsu and this E.N.D demon were in fact one and the same?" Asce informed and stated to them.
"WHAT?!" The Tenrou Fairy Tail Mages shouted in shock, their eyes widening from hearing this truth. If this was true… then Natsu was some kind of demon? And from what the armored man also stated, Sayla was also a demon?
"You have E.N.D to thank for how Natsu-Sama not only survived Acnologia's attack but also from being trapped on that island. Over the years the seal that kept his power and his conscious trap in the depths of Natsu-Sama's mind weakened from E.N.D's influence and strength to the point he was able to interfere and use his power to protect Natsu from sharing the same fate as all of you did." Sayla spoke up, revealing the mystery as to how the pink haired man she fell in love with managed to escape being stuck on that island for a decade.
"That E.N.D demon again huh? So, it's like some of these other timelines we have seen where he and Natsu are the same person." Erza realized, finding that constant theme a bit troubling. But of course that isn't the case here, no matter what some of the others would think. At least they found out how this other version of Natsu managed to escape Acnologia's attack and escaping Fairy Sphere's effect.
Natsu meanwhile only frown, hearing how this other version of E.N.D seemed to be more of a good guy like a few other versions that they have seen, unlike the monster that exists in his own head. The monster that he himself is.
'No, don't think about that right now. Just… focus on the other timeline at the moment.' He thought to himself, trying to shake the thought away for the time being and to not let the truth of his own demonic past get to him while he was here surrounded by everyone else.
"Losing all of you hit all of us hard. Droy started to eat constantly in depression, many of us just became too demotivated really train or go on jobs, Romeo refused to smile at all from the pain we all shared and Macao was under stress trying to keep the guild running in Makarov's absence. Natsu himself was barely holding it together from losing you all, yet he still strived on, trying to lessen the burden that was on everyone else taking up most of the jobs and trying to lift our spirits. It was during the first month when Natsu met Sarah by chance, entering his life. Along with her, Laki and myself, we did our best to help ease his own burden as much as we could." Kinana shared with everyone else, as Sarah fondly remembered her first meeting with Natsu.
She had a small soft smile as she recalled how she first met him by chance. She remembered how she acted like a complete idiot with a crush on the pink haired male before she gathered the courage to ask him out, which to her surprise he accepted with a blush on his own face.
"But then… it happened." Jet spoke up as those from Tenrou got confused.
"What happened?" Bickslow asked in response as Romeo went on to answer the black and blue haired man's question.
"Like Kinana stated, Natsu took up numerous jobs at once, so he tended to be gone for a couple of weeks long. But one of these jobs took him close to the border of Bosco… where he was ambushed and captured by Boscoian slavers who came from over the border, before dragging him to the Capital city of Bosco itself." Romeo told them, a frown on his face as he recalled what happened. Though, none of them would really know this until a year later when Natsu finally returned. Hearing this horrified the Tenrou Mages.
"He was captured by slavers?" Lucy asked, recalling how Bora himself was a slaver who tried to sell women as part of some slave trade.
The others nodded somberly as Briar then spoke up, her own frown remaining on her face as she went on to continue the long tale about what happened next.
"He was kept as a slave for what seemed like an eternity, treated harshly along with the other prisoners that were kept underneath the palace of the Bosco King. They were even made to fight one another in an arena for the citizens of the city's own amusement. Then… I myself was captured by these slave traders and brought to their Capital to share the same fate as the other slavers. It was there where I met Natsu for the first time." The white haired dark skinned woman shared, recalling her first meeting with the pink haired young man. If only their first meeting was more pleasant than what it was.
"That's horrible…" Elfman muttered, finding it all not manly at all.
"So were you just traveling around when you were caught by them?" Mira asked Briar, as she and some of the others looked at one another nervously before Chelia cleared her through, getting her and the rest of the Tenrou group's attention.
"Actually, Briar… was originally a Dark Mage." The pink haired woman revealed, catching the group of Mages off guard by this revelation.
Everyone else was also surprised to hear this also.
"Wait, she was a Dark Mage?" Lisanna questioned with surprise on her face. This Briar woman was formally a criminal then?
"Huh, so she might be like Sorano then." Marvell figured, knowing that Sorano was originally a Dark Mage due to unfortunate circumstances that she couldn't control. Was this Briar woman the same then?
"So she's the one who Natsu had to sacrifice his own hand to save? Or is this something different at the moment?" Evergreen asked in confusion, wondering if this was where the other Natsu had to butcher his own hand like the alternate version of the Fire Dragon Slayer stated or if that was later on.
"Guess we have to keep listening to find out." Kinana replied, worried over what kind of torment that the other Natsu may have to had gone through as a slave in Bosco.
"She was?" Mira replied in surprise before looking over towards Briar with the same expression she had, "You were?"
Briar only nodded as the others processed this information. This was surprising, but at least with her being here and part of the guild that meant she reformed and abandoned her old ways at least. Or maybe she became a Dark Mage due to unfortunate circumstances for means of survival? They couldn't think about it too long as Briar then spoke up once more to continue the tale of what has happened during the Tenrou group's absence.
"For me it was only for a week since I had to endure such cruel torment and force labor along with Natsu and the other prisoners. During that short time we gotten to know one another… and gotten close… but then one day, some of the Boscoian Royal Guards came and dragged me away, saying that the King and some of the other high officials were having a celebration for the King's son… if it weren't for Natsu showing up when he did…" Briar trailed off as she wrapped her arms around herself, recalling what those vile sick bastards were planning on doing to her for their own amusement as she shook a little from the memory. Thankfully her child and the other kids were too lost in their own world to pay attention to this.
It didn't take a genius to figure out what nearly happened to the white haired Clone Magic user, as the Tenrou group became horrified and enraged. The King of Bosco and the other officials were planning on raping the woman for their sick amusement? Hearing this got a few like Gray and Gajeel to clutch their hands in anger and disgust.
They weren't the only ones as everyone in the guild hall also became horrified and enraged. Natsu for example had to hold himself back from breaking something to calm himself down from overhearing this. Marvell also was furious as she gripped her bat in her hand, already imaging what she would have done if she were there to make them pay. Even Pepper growled in anger from Asuka's lap from hearing this, even if the small chihuahua didn't fully understand what was going on.
Seeing Briar trying to shake the dreaded memory away, Sarah took over to finish explaining what happened next while everyone tried to calm themselves down from hearing what nearly befell the dark skinned white haired woman.
"Natsu refused to let anything happen to Briar… and so… without caring for the pain he would bear, severed his own hand from the chains that held him down before he ran off after them to save Briar." The black haired fashion designer told them with a frown on her face, wishing that the love of her life found another way to set himself free to save Briar. Though she also knew there was most likely no other choice.
"And that inspired one of the other prisoners to follow suit, who then inspired the rest to also do the same. Every prisoner kept underneath the palace mutilated themselves to break from their chains. With slaves who were harden by battle and torment, they along with Natsu went on to slaughter everyone that stood in their way, including the King himself before they went out and started to slaughter everyone they ran into in the city. It was during the chaos that Natsu and Briar fled away from the burning city while the former prisoners went on to get their vengeance." Kagura filled in, having been told of what happened during that time by Natsu and Briar themselves years before.
The Tenrou group were once more surprised. So it was because of this is how Natsu lost his left hand? And the King of Bosco along with most likely the majority of people in the palace and city were all wiped out by the vengeance infused former prisoners in the process.
"So that's how he lost his hand." Wakaba now knew as did everyone else.
"It's kind of similar to that timeline we saw earlier, with Natsu severing his own hand to save that other Juvia." Juvia recalled, as she frowned as she remembered seeing how far that version of the Fire Dragon Slayer gone just to go rescue her. It all kind of confused her as to why he would go so far for her in these other alternate realities. It was like that one where she was captured by some Dark Guild who raped her constantly before that world's Natsu appeared and slaughtered them all to save her.
"Yeah…" Max nodded in agreement, as everyone also saw the similarities of these events that took place in this timeline and the one alternate Earthland they saw earlier today.
"At least those Bosco sons of b*tches got what they deserve." Marvell also shared, feeling better that those vile men were slaughtered. She hoped they died an agonizing death by either Natsu's hand or by the hands of the prisoners.
"So then… what happened with the prisoners? And what happened to Bosco if the King and all of his highest officials were killed?" Makarov asked, knowing that with the royal family of Bosco having been killed that would have no doubt left a power vacuum in the country.
"The prisoners, led by the man named Thagrak who followed after Natsu, formed an independent guild calling themselves the Shattered Hand. Last time we saw them was when they aided us during the Dark War, but they're vicious, using pain as a weapon to motivate themselves and to torment their enemies." Droy explained to the former Guild Master as the Plant Magic user shivered. He was convinced that they were all masochists considering the things one must do in order to be part of that pain obsessed guild.
"As for what happened to Bosco," Alzack took over as he explained what happened to the country after the rebellion from Natsu, Briar and the Shattered Hand, "With the royal family dead along with all the high officials, civil war broke out between numerous warlords who rose up to claim the nation for themselves. This conflict lasted a year before the warlord named Skilmidr Vorr emerged the victor of the internal conflict, now ruling over Bosco to this day. In some ways he's even worse than the former rulers of Bosco were, ruling over with an iron fist and brutal manner. But thankfully he abolished slavery as he finds the system, and I quote, "Only for weaklings who can't carry their own weight or strive for greatness". He makes sure to keep it easy on the international stage to not make enemies and stayed on our side during the Dark War. He's not the best guy to have in charge of a neighbor country next to our own but at least he keeps to himself."
This was interesting to those who were stuck on Tenrou Island, so now a warlord was now the ruler of Bosco. That was definitely different then how it was beforehand.
"So then what? What happened to Natsu and Briar?" Gildarts asked, wanting to continue with what has happened to Natsu during that time. Bisca spoke up next as all eyes and ears were on her, expect for Asuka and the Dragneel children of course, they were still lost in their own world.
"After setting themselves free and fleeing the fallen Capital of Bosco, and now lost with having no idea where to go, they eventually made their way into Stella a few weeks later, where Sonya and Swan were originally from." Bisca told them, getting those from Tenrou to be surprised. Again.
The group looked over towards the light brown haired woman and the silver haired bunny-like woman, with Wendy speaking up with curiosity and slight wonder.
"You both are from another country?" The Sky Dragon Slayer asked with slight wonder, finding that to be pretty cool.
"We originally were before we ended up tagging along with Natsu. Brandish here herself was originally from Alvarez before she ended up joining us." Swan replied to the Sky Dragon Slayer, with the green haired woman nodding in confirmation of this.
"You're from Alvarez?" Makarov asked the Command T Magic user in surprise, who once more nodded in confirmation.
"I am. We'll get to that in a moment however." Brandish responded as she looked over towards where her daughter was to see she was doing alright, which she was which brought a small soft smile to the green haired woman's face.
Briar went on to speak up once again, taking over the conversation once more while she managed to push the dreaded memories from earlier away to focus on the talk.
"Once we arrived, we happened to run into Swan first when Natsu went to scout ahead after camping in a forest overnight. Eventually she brought us to Stella's Capital city Altair where things… went south pretty quickly." She shared, getting the group to be confused.
"What do you mean? What happened?" Pantherlily questioned from his spot near Gajeel, who along with everyone else still had puzzled expressions.
"Uh, allow me to explain," Sonya jumped in to explain what had happened, a frown forming on her face while she went on to do just that, "An army of Dark Guilds risen up to try to overthrow the Imperial Family, to overthrow Animus, in order to establish themselves as the rulers of Stella. It was tough and horrifying, but in the end, we managed to defeat them all… but… Animus didn't make it…"
Swan and Briar frowned as they recalled the incident while the others who were told of what happened also frowned. They knew that Animus was someone Sonya cared about deeply and from what they were told was the one who basically raised her. His loss, despite the troubles and anger he had, still had hurt Sonya deeply.
Those from Tenrou also frowned in sadness. They may not know who this Animus was, but it was clear to them that he was someone Sonya cared about greatly.
"Unfortunately we didn't get to relax for long afterwards," Swan took over once again to explain what happened next, "Turns out due to what happened in Bosco, agents of the Empire of Desierto, which at the time was in the middle of its own civil war, were present during that event and informed the Emperor of the nation of what happened. Seeing how Natsu was the cause that brought Bosco into civil war and having heard about him through agents that were present in Stella, said agents attacked during the aftermath of the Dark Guilds attack and snatched Natsu before dragging him back to Desierto. It would be a month before we would see him again…"
This once more surprised yet frightened the Tenrou group. Natsu was once again caught by another country? For what reason would they have wanted the pink haired male?
"We went after them and after some time manage to arrive in Desierto, where he met up with a rebellion who wish to overthrow the Emperor and put an end to his cruel rule in order to establish a republic. All the while, while we aided in them taking the fight ever so closely towards Eprey, the Capital City of the country, Natsu was being force to suffer." Swan explained while she clutched her hands into a fist, recalling how while they tried to win the civil war and find Natsu, he was left to starve and dry out by the cruel Emperor.
"Yet it was here where an infamous tale about Natsu began." Asce also stated, knowing how the rest f Isghar became aware of Natsu and a title they have give him.
Seeing the puzzled expressions by the Tenrou group, the knight figured he would go on to explain what he was talking about as everyone listened in once more.
"While Natsu had suffered, it was here that his defiance in the face of death became legend throughout Ishgar…" He begun to tell the tale.
'NINE YEARS AGO'
The blowing of dust and sand filled the air as black colored eyes slowly started to open with a groan, Natsu slowly regained consciousness while a large headache was felt, which didn't really help his current situation.
"Ugh… what happened…?" Natsu mumbled as he tried to move around.
Only to widen his eyes as he feels himself stuck in place. The exhaustion he felt went away quickly before he looked all over himself. Looking at his arms, he saw them strapped to what seemed like a large dead looking tree in the middle of some unknown desert. To his confusion, he also found his Magic to be drained completely, unable to summon a single flame from his mouth or from his fingertips. His bladed fist weapon that was his left hand use to be was also gone, leaving his stump visible to all. His legs were also tied down to the dead looking tree also as the winds of the desert continue to blow all around him.
"What the-? What is this?!" Natsu shouted as he tried to break free from the straps only to fail, his strength and Magic felt like they were zapped completely out of him. What had happened? Moving his eyes around the vast plains of sand that surrounded him, his eyes filled with worry as the memory of Briar and the others entered his head. Where were they? Were they alright?
A small deep chuckle grabbed the pink haired young man's attention, causing him to look ahead of him to the source of the laughter.
Standing a few yards away from where Natsu was strapped to the dead looking tree was a man who stood over six feet and four inches tall. He was shirtless allowing his semi gut to be visible for all to see, yet the man also held some define muscle on his body showing that he was no pushover. His skin was dark tanned, he had brown colored eyes and was bald. A few earrings were on both his ears, and he wore a large dark purple loincloth and brighter purple baggy pants. He also wore a long brown cape that was blown in the wind and had golden metal bands around his biceps. Around his neck was a necklace which had an orange colored gem hanging at the end of it. In his hands was a small umbrella to give him shade from the bright sun that beat down on the sandy land beneath it. This man was none other than the Emperor of Desierto, who had a grin on his face with his back turn to the pink haired young man.
"Natsu Dragneel… the infamous Salamander from Fiore. The man who brought Bosco into anarchy. The man who repelled the Dark Guild Army in Stella. Brought to heel at last. You are weak, say it." The Emperor taunted him.
Natsu only gritted his teeth as he tried to lung forward only to be held back by the bindings to the tree he was on.
"Who are you creep?! Where are the others?! If you lay a hand on any of them I'll burn you to ash!" Natsu shouted out in rage, trying yet failing to break free from his bindings.
Ignoring the questions shouted at him, the Emperor of Desierto only scoffed before chucking in amusement once more. Luckily the tree the pink haired male was strapped to drains the Magic and strength away from those close by or touching it, since that helped make sure Natsu was no threat to him or break free from his bindings.
"Is that all you got? Maybe I was wrong to think you would have been a threat to me…" He simply replied before walking away to the nearby Capital that was in the distance, leaving Natsu alone in the desert strapped to the tree, with the Fire Dragon Slayer still trying to break free to no valid.
There Natsu remained over the course of weeks. Left to hang there alone as the sun beats down upon him, given no food or water by the merciless Emperor, all while the civil war raged on with Briar, Swan and Sonya aiding the rebellion against the cruel regime.
The bald man took a bite out of a delicious juicy fruit as he looked over at his prisoner, a smirk plastered on the man's face as the sun was high above them over the sand covered land.
"Look at you. The days have not been kind." The Emperor mocked as he held the delicious fruit in his hands.
His eyes were on the much skinnier Natsu, who was practically hanging from the bindings of the tree. Malnourish, weak and hungry, the pink haired Fire Dragon Slayer looked like he has seen better days as a faint gasp could he heard from the hungry male. His ribcage could be seen due to the lack of food and water over the weeks.
The Emperor walked closer before biting another bite from the fruit he held in his hand, his eyes moving away from the pink haired male and back onto the food in his grasp.
"Say the word, and I'll kill you quickly." He offered, giving the man a chance for the sweet release of death.
No response came from Natsu, whose head was down with his hair casting a shadow over his eyes. Seeing this merely got the bald man to scoff.
"I admire your spirit I will admit… but I will break it." He vowed to the starving strapped one hand Dragon Slayer. After all, killing him immediately would be boring. No, he wanted the pink haired male to beg for death, to be broken in mind and soul.
Natsu's eyes, while covered from the shadows casted by his hair, only glared towards the direction where the Emperor of Desierto.
The days had gone by, with the rebellion getting ever so closer to Eprey. The fighting became more intense as more lives were lost on both sides. Before anyone knew it, a whole month had pass… a whole month since Natsu was forced to go through this torment.
Heads of a few soldiers from the rebellion were thrown at the base of the tree where the greatly emaciated and malnourish Natsu still hanged from, much skinnier than he had before. It was a miracle he was somehow still alive despite having no water or food for the past month while the sun's heat and rays beat down upon him.
"The rebellion your friends are a part of… they can't win," The Emperor told the withered Natsu, a look of anger on the vile man's face as he faced his strapped starving prisoner, "Give up your hope. No one is coming to save you! Your body is broken! You have nothing left!"
His voice echoed through the desert land around them as the bald man lowered his arms and simply stared at the emaciated Natsu who had his head down with his hair casting a shadow over his eyes still.
"Say the word… and I will end your suffering." The Emperor promised.
For a moment nothing was said… until a soft rasp was heard coming from Natsu who had his head down still. This grabbed the vile Emperor's attention as a small smirk formed on his face.
"Yes…?" He responded, moving towards the pink haired male in order to hear him better.
The Emperor was certain Natsu had given up, that he was ready to die. After all, his body became so weak, so malnourish, so thin.
The Emperor was right next to Natsu, turning his head to the side and put his ear towards Natsu, a smirk still on his face.
"Say it," The Emperor told him as he leaned closer, unintentionally exposing his neck a good amount as he got closer towards the head down thin Fire Dragon Slayer of Fairy Tail, "Say the word, and it's over."
Natsu rasp softly once more before faint yet hearable words finally emerged from his mouth.
"…M… My… flame still burns."
And before anyone knew it, Natsu thrusted his head and mouth forward as a roar, a vicious bite and the tearing of flesh filled the air, before nothing but silence followed.
'PRESENT DAY'
"With that, the Emperor met his end. With how skinny he became, Natsu was able to slip from his bindings before making his way towards Eprey. No longer bound to that tree, his Magic and strength quickly returned as much as his withered state allowed, but even despite this weakness, he single handily took down the remaining administration of the vile Emperor. It was through this that Natsu became known throughout Ishgar, as the man with the iron will." Asce finished telling the tale about what had happened.
To say the Tenrou group was shocked was an understatement. Natsu managed to endure all of that? They knew Natsu was strong and tough from past experiences that they have seen before they headed to Tenrou, but to think that the energetic fight loving man that they all knew was able to withstand going through such a horrible experience yet never losing his will in the process.
Everyone in the building was also just as shocked. The other alternate Natsu was able to go through all of that and not only survived the harsh treatment but even managed to successfully kill the vile Emperor and his followers despite being in such an emaciated form.
"Whoa…" Natsu couldn't help but mutter, unable to stop himself from admiring his other self from being able to handle and going through that.
"Wow… now that's some alpha level sh*t right there." Marvell stated, a proud smile forming on her face after hearing about this. This other Natsu not only severed his own hand to escape his bonds but gone through being starved and dehydrated while strapped to some random tree in a desert for a month? Most people would have died if they have gone through such a thing. They probably wouldn't have lasted for a week let alone a month.
"But that had to be gross… killing a man by tearing out his throat with his own teeth?" Bickslow brought up shivering in disgust. He shared no care about this vile man who had done such a thing to Natsu in the first place, but that was pretty disturbing to hear. Hardcore, but disturbing.
"I mean, there wasn't like there was any other option left…" Gray reminded the Seith and Eye Magic user. Still it was surprising yet still rather sorrowful for this other version of his fire breathing rival to have to go through such an experience even if he did manage to emerge victorious in the end.
Erza, Mira and most of the other women couldn't help but have sorrowful expressions. They wished that Natsu didn't have to be force to go through something so terrible in the first place. And yet, that was surely not the end of any injury he would have gotten. After all, there was still the mystery of how he loss his left eye and all of those other numerous scars he received. Moving their gazes over towards their own pink haired Fire Dragon Slayer, they all only hoped that nothing like that would happen here to their own Natsu. They refuse to allow it.
"Oh my goodness…" Gildarts had to voice out from hearing this. He didn't think Natsu would gone through such a thing. On one hand he was proud that Natsu never gave in and won in the end. But on the other hand he wished the pink haired male didn't have to go through such a horrible experience either.
The rest of the guild gave the Tenrou group a few moments to get over learning this before they would continue the tale of what had taken place over the past decade. After figuring it was okay to continue, Sonya took over to continue onward with eyes on her once more.
"With the Emperor and his administration dead, the civil war came to the end and we reunited with Natsu. Over the next month and a half, we decided to stay in Desierto to not only allow Natsu to regain his strength and recover from his malnourished state but to help set up the new republic government. It was challenge we wouldn't lie, since none of us ever had experiences with a republic before." Sonya informed them.
"Plus it gave us a chance to seduce him during that time." Swan shamelessly shared, getting Briar to blush a little while Sonya gained a heavy blush.
"Swan! They don't need to know that!" Sonya exclaimed with steam erupting from her head.
"I'm not wrong. Besides look where we are now, all of us married to the man we love. He sure can be gentle when he can but also rough like how I love it. We went at it like bunnies." Swan continued to share with a grin and a blush on her own face, which was ironic in her case due to her bunny-like looks. The rest of the Dragneel wives merely either sighed or facepalm from her shamelessly revealing that.
"I didn't need to know that." Gray responded with a deadpanned expression, as some of the others from Tenrou also nodded in agreement with the Ice Maker Mage.
"I prefer doing it gentler, like how you would see in a vanilla love story," Brandish started to share without a care despite the small blush forming on her face. Thank goodness that none of the children were paying attention otherwise she wouldn't share this to the others, "Nothing but his soft yet safe embrace with our lips constantly locked, hands linked together, going at it slow and gentle yet with just the amount of force for the both of us to enjoy-."
"OKAY I DO NOT NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SALAMANDER'S PRIVITE LIFE LIKE THAT THANK YOU VERY MUCH!" Gajeel shouted in utter disgust on his face with shared with most of the men from Tenrou while some of the women like Erza and Mira simply blushed hard from hearing this. To the rest of the guild they merely had blank expressions, already use to hearing about such a thing.
Many of the guys and a couple of the girls like Evergreen and Levy also gained rather sick looking expressions, having preferred to not know how this other version of Natsu and Brandish like to make love to one another. Romeo and Wendy merely blushed out of embarrassment from hearing this, Natsu's face was beet red in the face, while most of the women like Lucy and Lisanna also gained massive blushes and had steam erupt from their heads.
Marvell meanwhile merely grinned, finding this hilarious while Asuka had her ears covered during that part courtesy of her parents who also looked ill from imagining what the Brandish woman described. Pepper didn't understand a single thing, so the small dog simply had a confused expression on her face.
"So uh… anyway, what happened next?" Evergreen, after trying to get that rather horrifying image out of her head, asked so they can learn more about what took place.
Hearing this and also wanting to change the subject about the Guild Master and his wives'… personal matters… Axol took over to explain the next part.
"Well, as Asce told you all the others manage to find out about what Natsu had to endure through and had done to get free. Word eventually spread from Desierto to the rest of the continent about his tale, solidifying him being known as the one with the iron will. This eventually grabbed the attention of Zin, who was traveling around the world which led him heading to the new republic nation to face Natsu himself." The beige haired man explained to the Tenrou group.
"Long story short, the two fought and ended in a draw. Figuring he found a strong rival to help motivate him to get stronger, Zin joined their group and when the time came when they came back here to Fairy Tail he decided to stick around and join the guild. Of course, more stuff had happened before they returned still." Chelia shared with them, knowing of what took place from being told it by Natsu and those who were with him during that time.
"Just like the incident that caused Natsu's right hand and forearm to be encase in permanent stone." Romeo also shared, also having been told of that incident also.
Hearing that, like numerous times before today, got those who were stuck on Tenrou Island to widen their eyes in shock and confusion.
"Wait what? His right hand has been covered in stone?" Happy asked with worry.
"Hold on you mean to tell us that underneath that armored furnace gauntlet he's wearing his skin has become practically rock?! How did that happen?!" Gray shouted as the rest of the Tenrou group were just as confused yet worried over learning of this. It seemed like there was no end for whatever his former rival was forced to go through.
Natsu and the rest were also once more caught off guard by this sudden revelation. For crying out loud how much crap did this other alternate version of Natsu had gone through for these things to happen to him like that?
"It happened not too long after departed from Desierto after our time there and entered into Minstrel," Briar took over once more to continue what had happened with everyone paying close attention once again, "Our plan was simple. We would arrive to the northwest coast of the large country and take a boat ride back to Fiore to return to Fairy Tail. During that time however, we encountered a town located at the base of a volcano that held a close connection to these spirits of the elements I think they were called again. Or something like that. There was this weapon that usually the town's best warrior would wield that these spirits would allow, yet something happened which caused the weapon to be taken and covered in a pool of lava by said spirits. And due to our luck, a powerful Dark Guild showed up and attacked the town while we were there, hoping to retrieve this weapon for themselves."
Briar took a moment to breathe from the long explanation before she went back to explaining what happened next.
"Despite our efforts, it didn't seem like anyone was making any headway while the Dark Guild closed in ever closer. So Natsu with his reckless self-sacrificial behavior decided to go to the pool of lava in the volcano and try to retrieve the weapon despite knowing full well that it could have killed him!" Briar exclaimed loudly, gaining an angered expression as she recalled the stupid and reckless decision her and the other women's husband made before she calmed down, a frown once more on her face, "We… didn't see what happened other than a young soldier that was with him. But it seemed from what we were told, the elemental spirits of whatever came to life in the form of the lava and engulfed his arm and side yet ended up sparing him due to how he was willing to die if it meant the rest of us would live. When he emerged, he had the weapon with the flesh of his hand and forearm… nothing more than dark heavy stone. We managed to win, defeat the Dark Guild and Natsu handed the weapon to the soldier that was with him since he was apparently the next one in line to wield it. And well… that's how it happened."
Briar was aware she was skimming over a lot of little yet important details, but the basic summary of what happened was enough for them to share while those of the Tenrou group merely had wide eyes as some frowned and clutched their hands from hearing what Natsu had to do which led to him receiving a negative consequence from his actions.
No one said anything as they merely processed this information they learned. None reacted as crazy as they did before though it was clear that they were still surprised from this. Some of the women looked over towards where the wide eyed Natsu was sitting, his focus completely on the blue smoke showing the alternate timeline.
'Natsu… would you ever go so far?' Mira thought to herself as did some of the other females. Sure they asked themselves that a lot considering what these alternate versions of the pink haired male have done just to save or protect someone, but they couldn't help but wonder every time they see another version of the Fire Dragon Slayer going so far and willing to receive such injuries or negative consequences if it meant protecting or saving others.
Makarov couldn't help but frown in sadness. It seemed like one thing after another, Natsu seemed to have suffered in someway just in order to do the right thing. Yet at the same time, the small old man couldn't help but feel proud over how Natsu was able to persevere even against the odds.
"Shall we continue?" Asce asked them to make sure if it was all right to keep on going.
Makarov and the others only nodded, giving them the green signal to keep on filling them in on what took place during that decade long absent.
"After that had happened and resting for a few days to recover, we continued onward through Minstrel," Sonya went on to tell the next part of their journey during Natsu's time away from Fairy Tail, "It was a week since we left that other town where we came upon a small village deep within a thick dark forest. This village was known for their companionship with the white wolves of the forest, where during our short time there Natsu ended up befriending one of these animals. It was pretty adorable to tell the truth." The light brown haired woman admitted as she smiled, recalling how quickly Natsu bonded with the large canine who he treated like a small puppy.
"A wolf? Wait…," Lisanna realized something as she recalled the white wolf pelt that Natsu now wore on his body, "You mean…?"
"Yes," Asce answered, having sense what the white haired Strauss sibling was referring too as the others also caught on to the connection, "You see, during their stay at the village, it became under attack by a group of vicious beasts native to Minstrel known as Wendigos."
"Wendigos?" Lucy asked, not sure what that was.
"Man eating creatures that prowl in forests. Some say they are vengeful spirits taken physical form to avenge their deaths, some believe them to be demons, while others believe them to be simply monsters that came to be. They are mostly known for their deer-skull exposed shaped heads with antlers and their bloody and bone exposed and bloody fur body. They are dangerous and tend to be a danger to the village due to where they lived." Asce explained to them, slightly frightening them of hearing such a creature exists in Minstrel.
"When this group of Wendigos attacked, we did our best to fend these flesh eating beasts off. However, there were just too many of them as they slowly gained more ground. Being pushed into a corner… it drove Natsu over the edge." Swan shared with a frown, recalling what happened when Natsu ended up going berserk. This confused the Tenrou group.
"What do you mean?" Erza questioned with slight sorry.
"Do you recall how we said that E.N.D and Natsu were the same, and that the demon's seal was weakening over time? While this included strength… it also included the negative side effects that E.N.D suffered with himself." Droy told the red head and the others as Kagura spoke up to take over.
"That included a lust for blood. Natsu was able to finally hold control over it during the Dark War, but this was not the case the first time it manifested. Natsu… he completely lost control and tried to kill everything that moved around him, unable to tell the difference between friend and foe. Zin was able to hold him off while Briar, Sonya and Swan managed to get him to snap out of it. But by that time the damaged was already done. The Wendigos were killed… and the wolf that Natsu bonded with had end up being killed by Natsu's own hands during his uncontrollable frenzy." Kagura informed them, sadden over remembering that even though the swordswoman herself was not present when it happened.
"Since then Natsu wore the fur of the creature as a reminder of the wolf's loyalty, as well as a reminder to himself that even the most kind hearted of souls can fall prey to their own rage." Sarah then told the Tenrou group, who were sadden over how Natsu ended up killing the wolf. There was no doubt Natsu was heart broken over what he had done if he still wore the animal's pelt to this day.
Makarov sighed in sorrow over hearing this as everyone else only remained wide eyed, Natsu more so than others. The small old man was fully aware of the dangers of giving in completely into rage, he has seen and heard of such incidents throughout his life since when he was younger. To completely give into the anger… it was a dangerous line to cross.
"This was the first time something connected to E.N.D has surface from Natsu, and it didn't go unnoticed." Laki told the Tenrou Mages, puzzling them further and getting them to snap out of their own thoughts over what happened with Natsu.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Wendy asked with puzzlement.
"Laki is referring to me and my old guild," Sayla spoke up with a neutral expression, her eyes shifting over to where her son was for a moment before looking back towards the Tenrou Mages, "As brief as it was, Natsu-Sama entering in his rage state also gave off the presence of E.N.D. Mard Geer and the rest of us of Tartaros detected it. Realizing that it may be the host where E.N.D resided in, we all headed towards its location. It would be roughly a few days before we encountered Natsu-Sama and the others in person."
Makarov nearly had his eyes bug out when he heard this. Tartaros? The Dark Guild that consisted of Zeref's Etherious? Sayla was a member of that guild? Sure earlier it was stated Sayla was an Etherious but the small old man didn't know that the purple haired demon woman was a member of the cruel and dangerous Dark Guild. And Natsu and the others faced them?
"They weren't the only ones either," Brandish decided to join in on the conversation once again to explain more, "Back home Zeref also had sensed the presence of E.N.D, and worrying that he was close to breaking free yet wanting to learn more, he sent me to investigate as I was the only member of the Spriggans to be available at the time." The green haired woman shared. Everyone else was either too busy with their own missions or were just simply elsewhere at the time.
Those who were stuck on Tenrou blinked in confusion as they heard the mention of a certain Black Mage before their eyes widened in a comical style.
"Wait WHAT?!" They shouted getting many of the others to flinch from how loud they were being.
"Did you say Zeref?! The Black Mage?! The guy that was on Tenrou Island before Acnologia showed up?!" Evergreen shouted in shock. Did Brandish used to work for the supposedly evilest Mage of all time?
"I did." Brandish responded casually, not really seeing why it was shocking. Maybe she was just used to it since she grew up in Alvarez, who knows.
None of them could question it further before Sayla spoke up once more to continue with the tale.
"Continuing onward, the rest of Tartaros and myself eventually arrived in Minstrels and encountered Natsu-Sama and the others for the first time." Sayla replied to them.
"And it was love at first sight for her and Natsu. That tends to happen with Natsu and these women." Axol shared with a smile on his face, while Sayla and the other Dragneel wives only blushed slightly from hearing this.
"And apparently despite Tartaros hating humans and wanting nothing more than the death and destruction of mankind, I guess their loyalty to E.N.D was far greater as the moment they realize that Natsu and E.N.D were indeed the same person they basically swore to do whatever he wanted. Even if that meant giving up on attacking and killing innocent people. They were happy though to kill any bad guys, which Natsu told them to do after everything calmed down and realizing that he was some demon from over four hundred years ago. He took it quite well all things considerate." Romeo responded to the others, knowing that with all the kind of crap Natsu had to go through he was probably used to it by that point. It did help that E.N.D was somewhat a good guy and not some vile horrible mass murderer.
"Sayla of course chose to stay behind with the rest of us as the rest of Tartaros left to do what Natsu wanted, stop and annihilate any Dark Guilds and other threats to innocent people. They've been doing that basically all the way up to the Dark War." Sonya told the Mages that were stuck on Tenrou Island.
"Okay I'm confuse. You all keep mentioning this Dark War, what is that?" Laxus asked the others, getting tired of hearing this Dark War yet not being told what it exactly was. It was a war obviously but what happened and took place in it to be known as such?
"We'll get to that. Let us finish with this first." Chelia told the blonde Lighting Dragon Slayer, who only sighed as he saw he had no choice. Plus, he would be lying if he wasn't curious as to what happened before this Dark War took place.
"So not too long afterwards did Brandish decide to show up. And just like the other girls it was love at first sight for her and Natsu… after an accidental kick to the jaw courtesy of Brandish when Natsu accidently snuck up behind her to greet her. But honestly I think that made Natsu like her even more." Asce informed them as Brandish gained a small embarrassed look on her face, recalling that incident. She had arrived and located the group and asked where the one that was supposed to be this powerful demon was. Natsu then made himself known behind her as he and Zin had gone to get wood for a campfire that they set up which caused the green haired woman to be startled and on instinct attack him.
"I did apologize…" She muttered her as she tried to hide her face in her hands from being reminded that. Seeing this got some of the others to chuckle which only worsen her embarrassment.
Finishing chuckling to herself, Swan looked over back to those of Tenrou to keep the talk going.
"Long story short, Brandish decided to stay with us and only to sent reports back to Alvarez, and we managed to arrive at a city on the northwest coast of Minstrel. And finally, after months of being gone… we've returned to Fiore. Well Natsu and Briar did, for the rest of us it was the fist time going there while Sayla was only away for like more than a week. Natsu took us to where Fairy Tail was… and needless to say once he saw the state it was in and how most of them were still hung up over loosing you guys Natsu became pretty pissed." Swan revealed to them, recalling how angry Natsu gotten from seeing the pitiful state everyone was in, not caring about how shocked everyone looked when they saw the injuries he had received during his time away.
Many of the others like Bisca, Alzack Max, Droy and Warren for example gained sheepish grins as they recalled the rather harsh earful they received from Natsu after his return. They didn't exactly were doing well and their attitudes during that rough time didn't exactly help to counter Natsu's points.
"But it was something we needed. It was funny, we were all down in the dumps from loosing all of you and with Natsu disappearing it gotten worse. Then not even a full hour after Natsu comes back he manages to lift our spirits up and motivate us, even if it was kind of in a pretty harsh way." Max admitted as he rubbed the back of his head.
"And that alone made all of us knew he would be someone we could easily reply on, someone who could lead the guild into its best days like Makarov did. So Macao decided to hand him the title of Guild Master right there with all of us agreeing. Natsu refused of course, saying how he wasn't leadership material, but after our encouragement he finally relented. With that, Natsu became the fifth Guild Master, and Briar, Sonya, Swan, Sayla, Brandish and Zin joined the guild." Bisca told the others with a fond smile. It was probably the happiest time the guild had since they first lost the Tenrou group.
"So that's how he became Guild Master…" Lucy trailed off, seeing how everyone in the other timeline basically convinced the pink haired Fire Dragon Slayer to become the next Guild Master of the guild.
"Must have been one heck of a speech or something if it managed to get them to snap out of their sadness and self pity to the point that they put him in charge." Marvell figured. She couldn't blame them, if things were being run so poorly by Macao and with everyone still depressed over the loss of those on Tenrou and seeing Natsu coming back to knock some sense and inspire them in some way, it makes sense as to why Natsu would have been chosen to lead the guild.
"At least we also found out how Natsu met that Zin guy and those other girls." Pantherlily spoke up, finding it interesting to hear about how they met and what they've gone through during their time away from the guild.
"That still doesn't explain how Kagura and I end up with him." Millianna still wondered while a blush once more formed on the brown haired cat-like's face, wanting to know how her double was lucky enough to also get with the alternate pink haired male. Kagura was also wondering the same thing, though like her guild mate it did cause a small blush to form but thankfully no one noticed.
"I want to know about this Dark War they keep mentioning. From what we gathered so far it must have been pretty bad if a few of us died during it and gained scars and lost limbs." Wakaba admitted. While he was kind of upset and sad over how his alternate version perished, he couldn't help but find out specifically how he died and what the others had gone through.
"Yeah… but I'm sure they'll explain it to our doubles." Mira figured while she and a few other women glared over towards Kinana, Laki, Kagura and Millianna, still a bit upset and jealous over how they ended up with Natsu in the other timeline while they didn't.
Natsu remained silent as he kept an eye on the blue smoke showing the other alternate reality. Hearing all of this was still shocking to the pink haired young man. It was kind of unsettling, his double managed to go through all of that and won the hearts of women yet still managed to persevere and stay alive for their sake. The fact that his double learned about being E.N.D yet, if what they heard was to be believed, managed to keep cool about it showed how his other self just naturally seemed to handle it all.
Could… could he be able to do all of that? Would he be able to do all of that?
'These other versions of me… they've been through a lot, haven't they?' The Fire Dragon Slayer thought to himself. So many versions of him that seemed to go through plenty of trouble and challenges, like the him from 137-C who became King of Fiore and making the hard decision to burn their home just to keep the fight going. Or the version of him that had sacrifice himself to fend off that Dark Guild army that everyone saw while he was out cold. Or that one version they saw earlier in the day that, like his counterpart shown here, severed his own hand just to escape and save Juvia.
He clutched his fist harder as a small determine look appeared on his face, his gaze not leaving the blue smoke showing the other timeline. All this showed that he needed to get stronger, that he still had much to learn if he could persevere and fight to the bitter end like these good alternate versions of himself.
He only hoped that he didn't end up like the monster that he once was as E.N.D centuries ago and hope that he never becomes like the evil versions of himself that he has also saw.
The Tenrou group was silent for a moment as they process all of this. This answered some of their questions so far, but they were still confused about other questions they have yet to have answer. Erza cleared her throat for a moment before she went on to speak up, getting everyone to look over at the red head.
"So that explains how he became Guild Master, and how he met some of you. But Millianna, Kagura, how did you two end up with him?" She couldn't help but ask, wanting to know about how Simon's little sister and her cat-like friend from the Tower managed to fall in love and hooked up with the Fire Dragon Slayer.
Both of the mentioned women blushed a bit from being asked that, before Millianna managed to recover first and started to answer the red head female.
"Well… eventually in the next few months the rest of Fiore would learn about Natsu's return and his new rank as Guild Master, especially since the tale from what happened to him in Desierto became known. Seeing how the guild was slowly rising back up in the ranks and wishing to see the man that basically freed us from the Tower of Heaven once more, I wanted to meet him again. Kagura followed as she too wanted to meet the man who defeated Jellal," Millianna stated as a blush once more formed on her face while she grinned sheepishly, "Honestly to be truthful, I have had a crush on him since the day I first met him all those years ago at the Tower which grew when he brought down the tower and saved you. So I was already in love with him even before this. For Kagura though it was love at first sight."
"I would have mentioned that myself," Kagura responded with a slight embarrassed look on her face from her friend and fellow wife of Natsu saying that in her place. Clearing her throat for a moment, she took over to explain how they ended up with the Fire Dragon Slayer, "Anyway, we made our way to visit Fairy Tail and meet him and everyone else. At the time Millianna and I were members of Mermaid Heel. Eventually our visits became more frequent and, after a talk with the other girls, we made our move and con… conf… confe…" She started to get more embarrassed as she recalled that day. All the other women aside from herself and Millianna had already made themselves official with Natsu and were dating him. However, let it be known that Kagura was bad at telling people about her feelings.
"Confess your feelings for him?" Elfman asked.
"Yeah that." Kagura replied, getting the others to sweat drop at how he struggled to admit that despite being married now.
"Kagura's not really good when it comes to telling her feelings, so it was really nervous for her on that day." Millianna told them with a soft smile, recalling how nervous the dark purple haired woman was on that day. If anyone saw her like that they wouldn't think it was the same woman who was known for being serious with the always present blank expression.
Kagura only mumbled something unintelligent, causing the cat-like women to laugh a little much to the embarrassment and annoyance of the swordswoman who merely sent a small glare over towards her friend and fellow wife of Natsu. The other women also laughed a little in amusement, causing Kagura to also glare at them.
Both Kagura and Millianna couldn't help but smile from this, though the former tried to make it less noticeable while blushes once more formed on their faces. Natsu also blushed once again from hearing how the alternate versions of the two Mermaid Heel Mages confessed to him and seemly agreed to share him along with eight other women.
"And for the next couple of years thing went by pretty quick. Fairy Tail once again rose to become the top guild in Fiore, having won the Grand Magic Games in the year of X786. Natsu and us married, with some of us being gifted with our little ones. Bisca and Alzack also married and had Asuka. Romeo met Chelia who at the time was with Lamia Scale, and things were great. It seemed like despite having lost you all on that fateful day, it kind of felt like a happy ending for everyone." Kinana shared with a smile on her face.
But the smile faded away as she along with everyone else then either frowned in sorrow or gained looks of anger, confusing the Tenrou group once more.
"But that peace abruptly ended when the day it begun…" The purple haired barmaid trailed off with a soft voice.
"Do you mean…?" Freed started to reply before Romeo cut him off and answered for him, a look of anger appearing on his face.
"The Dark War." The dark purple haired young man revealed, clutching his hands as he recalled the conflict that ravaged the planet for years.
Seeing him getting like this got Chelia to gain a soft worried look before she took his hands into her own, causing Romeo to calm down slightly as he looked over at his girlfriend, though it was clear that he was still bothered from recalling the event that nearly cost them everything.
Everyone was now listening much closely than they were before, seeing how they were about to get answers about what this Dark War conflict is all about. Observer had an serious expression on his face, having a feeling the topic was about to get heavy once more.
"Looks like we're about to get some answers about this event." Levy noticed like everyone else did.
"From the expressions our doubles have, it's clear that whatever happened in this war must have been horrible. Was it from this is how I lost my eye?" Bisca wondered aloud, while Alzack wondering the same thing involving his double's metallic prosthetic limbs. Asuka was just watching and listening intensely as did Pepper, the small chihuahua's gaze not leaving the blue smoke showing the other timeline.
"Guess we're about to find out." Juvia replied back with her eyes on the blue smoke.
Romeo meanwhile was blushing slightly as he saw his older alternate self being so close to the alternate older Chelia, which showed to him that they were no doubt dating. Wendy also noticed this, and for some reason couldn't help but feel jealous. Though she was puzzled by it, unsure why she felt that way.
"You mentioned it quite a bit earlier, and the Fioren soldiers who founded us also mentioned that conflict to us. Just… what exactly is this Dark War?" Makarov questioned with a soft tone, seeing how whatever this conflict was, it had cost everyone pain and loss, even loosing some of their friends like Macao and Wakaba to the event.
Everyone else looked at one another, unsure who should start explaining about that vile and horrific stain on history. Chelia was the one to break the silence as she started to speak, getting everyone's full attention on the Sky God Slayer who had a somber expression on her face.
"The Dark War is the most common name of the war that took place seven years ago. Some even call it the most horrendous war that ever took place in the history of all of Earthland. Few are even going so far to call it as the War that ended all wars. While that is highly unlikely given history's unpredictability, it is considered to be the bloodiest and devastating war the whole world ever faced, and I doubt that will ever be uprooted by another conflict. It was during this war when we met Asce and Axol, and it was during the wat where Natsu lost his eye and gained those other scars." Chelia explained, a frown remaining on her face, knowing that many others also received such injuries, glancing over at Romeo and the scars he had and towards the mechanical prosthetic limbs and eye that Bisca and Alzack have.
She took a breather for a moment before she continued onward, trying to push back the horrific memories that plagued her from that conflict.
"On May eleventh, year X787 the war first began. Massive armies of Dark Guilds the likes which have never been seen before had become united under one banner, making themselves finally known on that day. Their goal? Complete domination of the planet. This united army of evil referred to themselves as the Dark Empire… as lame as that sounds. Nevertheless, they rose up from hiding before beginning a massive sweep of conquest over the next several months in Ishgar. In that time frame alone, Joya, Desierto which only had it's new government installed not even a couple of years ago, Bellum, Stella, eastern regions of Iceberg, and mass amounts of Minstrel and Pergrande, and Midi all fell under their control. No one was prepared for anything like this…" Chelia trailed off, once more trying to shake the memories that plagued her nightmares from that dark time.
"By the time the rest of the continent recovered from the shock of this sudden vile empire rising out of nowhere and claiming practically all of central Ishgar, inside attacks have been launched all over Fiore and the remaining nations or what was left of said nations. This included an attack on Crocus which resulted with the King being killed, causing his daughter Queen Hisui to rise to claim the throne. All the while the main armies of the Dark Empire continue to encroach into the lands of the other nations. As many countries at the time weren't very connected to one another and did little other than trade and tourism, none were united nor had the resources to properly defend and aid one another. It wouldn't be long before the rest of the world was drawn into the conflict, the Dark Empire launching attacks into other continents like Alakitasia and Valosa, with some of their lands falling into the empire's clutches throughout the first and second year of the war." Asce took over, continuing to explain about the Dark Empire.
The Tenrou group, as like many times before, were shocked to hear of this. How could such a large mass of Dark Guilds be able to unify to such a powerful force without anyone noticing until it was too late? And how could this vile empire have the resources and weaponry to also aid in such carnage and conquest?
Everyone else meanwhile gripped their fists as anger or sorrow covered their expressions, recalling the horrible things that they have gone through or seen with their very eyes.
"All of the suffering that the world and us would endure… so many lives lost… all because of that one vile man behind it all!" Romeo exclaimed, resisting the urge to slam his fists on a table out of anger for the one person behind it all.
This confused the Tenrou group once more.
"What vile man?" Erza asked with puzzlement. Were they referring to whoever the leader of the Dark Empire was?
"Zansu."
The voice of Natsu grabbed everyone minus the children's attention, as they all looked over towards the staircase seeing both the pink haired Guild Master and Zin going down it. Both of them had serious expressions due to the topic that everyone was discussing. What made it more surprising to those who were stuck on Tenrou was the raw hatred that filled Natsu's tone when he uttered that name, they never heard Natsu seemed to harbor such hate before.
"Hey honey, how much did you hear?" Sarah asked, wondering if they had heard more than just the new topic as Natsu walked over towards them with Zin in tow.
"Only when you started talking about the war." Natsu started, walking about the table to give each of his wives a quick kiss before he looked over towards the Tenrou Mages once more, the same expression from before still on his face. Zin also glanced over towards the group with a rather harsh look.
"Zansu? Was he the leader behind this Dark Empire?" Gildarts responded hoping for an answer, to which he would get one as the others nodded while Natsu spoke up to verbally give the former Ace of Fairy Tail an answer.
"Yes, he was the one who united the mass amounts of Dark Guilds and everyone else who decided to flock to his cause during the war. He along with his top lieutenants ruled the Dark Empire and led it to sate their bloodlust for conquest of the planet into battle. Zansu was the greatest threat Earthland as a whole has ever faced, surpassing the likes of Acnologia by far. He singlehandedly defeated and killed the Five Dragon Gods without hardly any effort before sinking Guiltuna shortly afterwards with his own power. I met that monster face to face at the war's conclusion before I put an end to him once and for all." Natsu told them, remembering the final battle against the leader of the Dark Empire. It was the greatest fight of his life he has ever faced. And yet he managed to win when many others before him failed, bringing an end to the Dark Empire and ending the war in the process.
Everyone was shocked to hear of this with Makarov and Gildarts gaining even more horror from hearing how a single man seemly destroyed an entire continent without much effort. Sure they have seen other entities in other alternate timelines that were much stronger that could level planets, it was still terrifying to hear about such feats. However, the first generation Dragon Slayers gained much more confused expressions when they heard the mentioned dragons the alternate version of Natsu mentioned.
"Wait, Dragon Gods?" Wendy spoke up with wide yet confused eyes.
"What the heck is a Dragon God? This is the first time I've heard of one." Natsu admitted. Was that a dragon who was also a god? He never heard Igneel mentioning anything about this. Maybe his dragon parent also didn't know of such a thing?
"Beats me," Gajeel replied back before he looked over towards where Marvell was at, who was also confused by the mentioned of the Dragon Gods before noticing the Iron Dragon Slayer looking her way, "Hey Marvell-."
"Before you ask, no I do not know who or what these Dragon Gods are. This is a first of hearing about them for me too. Like I told you all earlier, just because my friends and I traveled to a lot of other Earthlands doesn't mean we know every single being that exists on these worlds." The older Sky Dragon Slayer from 137-C stated with a slightly annoyed tone, not liking how Gajeel would just assume she knew everything. As awesome as that would be, she unfortunately did not have such infinite knowledge.
Then again, she would probably be bored out of her mind if she just magically knew everything now that she was thinking about it.
"Hey guys, is it me or does this Zansu guy sound familiar?" Lisanna asked the others, who gained puzzled expressions from hearing this.
"How so? I don't think we ever heard of this name before." Erza responded back towards the younger Strauss sibling.
"I know we haven't, but I can't help but feel like we might have seen him before, at least in these other alternate timelines." Lisanna admitted. For some reason the name made her think of that one powerful enemy who that one version of Natsu had to throw his life away to defeat, the one who led that one Dark Guild Army, which filled her with sorrow over recalling how that version of Natsu perished in the end.
"I think you're overthinking it. We would have recognized who this Zansu guy was if he was named in a past timeline we saw." Freed replied to the Animal-Take Over Mage, stating his thoughts on this matter.
"Can we talk about that later? I want to know what happened next." Laxus requested from them, not wanting to be distracted so he and the others can learn more about this Zansu guy and the Dark War that he started.
Lisanna and the others only nodded, figuring now wasn't the best time to debate about this as they all refocused once more onto the blue smoke that was showing this other timeline. Observer remaining silent as he continued to listen in on the discussion taking place in the other alternate reality.
The Tenrou group was shocked to hear of this. This Zansu guy was that strong. Gajeel and Wendy were confused by the mention of these Dragon Gods, but they wouldn't get the chance to question about that as Happy spoke up with confusion on his face.
"He sank a city called Guiltuna?" Happy asked with worry, not sure what that was. Zin scoffed from the idiotic assumption.
"No you fool, he sunk the continent," The white haired man stated, shocking them further from this revelation before the one arm one eye man continued onward, "He and his lieutenants were powerful and deadly. Throughout the duration of the war, they single handedly defeated armies in the tens of millions with ease and conquered entire countries with their own power alone. It was these leaders that caused the death of the likes of Romeo's father, Chelia's cousin, and our other allies. If you thought someone like Zeref or Acnologia were dangerous then you are nothing but fools to make the comparison."
The mentioning of their loss family members got Romeo and Chelia to frown once more, recalling how each of them along with all the others who they considered friends and family met their end.
"It would be during the third year that we would meet Asce and Axol," Sayla spoke up once more to continue the talk, "Asce came from the nation of Kalavar from the Valosa continent, having come to aid in the defense of the remaining Ishgar nations to push the Dark Empire back along with other forces the Kingdom of Kalavar could spare at the time. And Axol came from Pergrande, though our meeting with him wasn't as pleasant as we would have like."
Seeing this a chance to take over, the beige haired man started to speak up to continue the tale of how they met and their part in the world.
"Sayla's right. You see, I was originally a manga artist who was pretty well known back home. I was pretty popular I wouldn't lie, mainly thanks to Inkweaver here named it after myself," Axol shared as he grabbed the large pen from his back to show it to the Tenrou Mages with a proud smile on his face, "I created this which allows me to bring to life anything I draw. Heck, I can draw a copy of Natsu and bring it to life numerous times. Same thing for almost anything really. However, depending on the quality of ink, my creations don't tend to last for long and lack much intelligence. So, the better quality of ink, the better and stronger the creation will be. Though if needing to bring a powerful creation to life, I need the correct amount of ink in order to do so."
Axol lost his smile while a depressed frown appeared on his face, guilt also was present on his expression as he continued onward.
"However, a commander of the Dark Empire who attacked the city I was in at the time heard about Inkweaver and took it for herself. By draining the Magic from the air and giving it a liquified form, she was able to use Inkweaver as a weapon of evil, something that it was never meant to be use for. Because of this many people have died, including Chelia's cousin and so many others. I… if only I didn't fall to their clutches…" Axol clenched his fist as the others looked at him with worry.
"Don't blame yourself Axol," Natsu spoke up, getting the beige haired man's attention towards the Guild Master of the guild, "You could have never known your pen would be used in such a vile way. It may have been your creation, but the blame is not on you. As someone once said, it's not the weapon that's good or evil but the person behind it."
Turning to the others once more, Natsu remained having a serious expression as he went onward.
"Eventually, those who were on the front line on the Pergrande front managed to push the Dark Empire back far enough to face the woman who wielded Inkweaver as her own weapon. She… even used it to bring copies of all of you to life to aid her in the battle. Luckily though thanks to Axol, they managed to get an opening and struck her down, not only saving Axol and getting his pen back but also delivering a large blow to the Dark Empire's forces of the area during that time. He's been with us ever since." Natsu explained to the others as Laki took over again to wrap it up.
"Six long years of nothing but war and destruction… but it all eventually came to an end. As each of the Dark Empire's top lieutenants fell over the years and pushing the Dark Empire back and reclaiming the land they have taken, together will all the forces we could muster, we made one final push into the heart of the Dark Empire itself. It was there where we confronted Zansu, Natsu taking the fight to him and after a long battle and struggle, Zansu was struck down. With that, the Dark Empire shattered, and the Dark War was officially over. So many lands and civilizations destroyed and razed in this conflict… and Earthland, where it once had over eight billion people alive… was reduced to slightly over three billion." The violet haired woman explained, putting an end to the tale of the Dark War.
Everyone was wide eyed as they heard about this. To think that something like this Axol's guy's Magic pen could be used for such horror. It was used to bring copies of their doubles to life and aid against fighting their friend also? Not only that, but everything about this Dark War. More than half of the planet's population was wiped clean during the duration of the horrible conflict, how could such a thing ever happen.
"That even more than those we lost on Etherion Day…" Marvell muttered in sorrow over recalling the day where they had to wipe their own home out to drive the Locust back despite how this other Earthland had a much bigger population naturally than 137-C did. But the casualties were only around more than two billion and even then, the death was quick for the innocents that were lost, being disintegrated before they could even feel the slightest bit of pain. While in this other timeline there was no doubt that the billions who died no doubt suffered long before passing on. Who knows what kind of torment innocent lives had to go through by this Dark Empire or even by the other righteous side before they were given the mercy of death?
"All of this… because one man was just too power hungry to take it all for himself…" Makarov muttered also as a look of anger appeared on his face. It seemed outlandish, that because of one man was able to bring the whole world into ruin and chaos. Yet it showed just how one person can change the world either it be for the better or for the worse.
"It also appears that this Dark War only ended recently for them," Observer noticed, getting the others to look at the living constellation in confusion before he went onward, "According to the words they spoke, this conflict started seven years ago in their perspective. And the other Laki shared that this war lasted for six years. If we're doing it right, then this war only ended a year ago."
That got the others to be surprised as they realized the Constellar was right. The Dark War then only ended recently, which meant they were still somewhat fresh from escaping the horrors of war. And if the damage across the planet is to be believed, then many places and lands were no doubt still trying to rebuild from the Dark War.
'OUTSIDE THE GUILD HALL'
At the train station, a young girl was seen getting off of the train that had just arrived with a smile on her face. Not wasting much time, this young lady quickly made her way into the city with her smile still wide on her face.
Who this may be one may wonder? Why it's a certain pink haired Sky God Slayer from Lamia Scale, here to visit her good friend Wendy.
"I hope she's here." One Chelia Blendy spoke to no one in particular as she made her way through the streets. After all, it would be king of lame if Wendy happened to be out on a job. But then again this was supposed to be a surprise visit, wanting to hang out with the blue haired girl and surprise her by her visit. But if she's currently on a job, then she can wait for her to get back. Plus, it would be neat to see how everyone else of Fairy Tail is doing.
Like that one boy she saw at the Grand Magic Games and at the party after victory against the dragons, Romeo if she remembered correctly. She never got to really talk to him, but he did look cute she would admit.
Shaking that thought away, it wouldn't be long before she would arrive in front of the famous Fairy Tail guild hall with a grin on her face. If Wendy was here, Chelia was sure she would be surprise by her sudden appearance.
"Alright, here we go!" Chelia cheered to no one in particular herself as she entered through the guild doors with a happy expression…
…Only to get completely confused by what she saw as she entered.
Chelia had to blink a few times before shaking her head, but no she was still seeing the same things. Before her was everyone including Kagura and Millianna from Mermaid Heel who had eyes glued to some blue smoke that was hovering over the center. But was more confusing that that was the living constellation guy that was standing around, and was that a slightly older Wendy next to Wendy? Why were there two of her?!
'…Eh?' Chelia thought to herself in utter confusion while seeing that no one has noticed her presence just yet. Her eyes looking up to the blue smoke that everyone was looking at including the other Wendy look a like and the star looking entity, her eyes spotted that seemed like… doubles of everyone present? But some of them looked older and even look so different. Especially what seemed to be another Natsu in the blue smoke who looked like he been through hell. But what got her attention was the other older version of her that she spotted in the blue smoke in the alternate timeline, 'Is that… me?'
Those who were stuck on Tenrou were speechless. That many people died during the Dark War? And if their words are to go by, then this Dark War only ended roughly a year ago. Which meant the horrors they no doubt went through was still somewhat fresh in their minds.
"Since then to today, the world is still recovering and rebuilding from the damage done during the war. Entire ecosystems and civilizations reduced to ruin that we're now trying to rebuild. And remnants of the Dark Empire are still scattered around the world that still need to be wiped cleaned. But other than that… peace has returned once more." Natsu finished the long tale of what happened between a decade ago and today.
Those who were trapped on Tenrou island were surprised to hear all of this. They couldn't imagine how it must have been like to actually be on the front lines, the horrors of war they no doubt seen. It explains how those like Alzack and Bisca received such injuries to get the prosthetic limbs or how others had the scars like they now have.
"I… can't imagine what it must be like to have to go through all of that…," Makarov started to say as he looked over towards Natsu, before a faint smile appeared on his face as he went onward, "But… I can say how proud we are all to hear how even in the darkest times, all of you managed to persevere. And you Natsu, you managed to lift the guild up and keep it alive during our absence, to lift everyone's spirits up and always looking forward for a bright future. I knew there was a reason I had you in mind as a candidate to be the next Guild Master."
That got Natsu to be surprised if the slight widening of his eye was any indication, while the others were just as surprised at this reveal. None more so than the Tenrou group as they looked at Makarov with shocked expressions.
"Wait Gramps, did you seriously had him in mind as a candidate to be Guild Master at one point?" Laxus questioned to his grandfather in utter surprised, not expecting to hear this coming from the small old man.
"I had. Along with you and Gildarts, I believed Natsu had it in him what it took to become Guild Master. All he needed was the right encouragement and knowledge. And I'm proud to see that I wasn't wrong on that." Makarov shared with the others with his small smile still on his face.
While everyone was surprised to hear this especially Natsu, Makarov couldn't help but hummed in thought before he looked over towards the pink haired young man. He was reckless and not really thinking of much instead taking action. But… if given the right training and learning, Natsu would no doubt be a great Guild Master.
He shook his head from this thought, knowing that he basically will have the title until the day he died. Plus, knowing Natsu he might not want it. That got him to smile, knowing that it would be like Natsu to not want such a thing.
"Wow… I never knew that… makes me happy that I managed to do you proud Gramps." Natsu responded with a soft tone himself, a small smile also forming on his face which got his wives and many others to smile happily at this.
"Alright, enough of this talk right now. How about we continue partying on? Who's with me?" Axol stated while standing up with a large grin on his face.
"YEAH!" Many others joined in on the agreement, which grabbed the children's attention as they looked over at their parents before they got up from their spots and heading towards their mothers and father, who with the formers picked them up with smiles on their faces.
The Tenrou group couldn't help but have smiles on their faces. While they still had questions, more partying was a good idea. Everything was different than what they remember it to be, but at least it was still home.
Natsu looked on as everyone cheered out and celebrated with a soft smile, he was truly happy that they were all home. Their family was complete once more.
Everyone couldn't help but gain small smiles as they saw this. While there were still some confusion and questions they have, the majority of them were answered during this long talk between their counterparts.
"I believe we have seen enough. I doubt we'll get much new information for the time being. Should I cut the link off?" Observer asked, as everyone looked at one another before they all nodded towards Observer, who nodded back as he was given the okay.
With that, the living constellation went on to cut the link, leaving the blue smoke blank once again like many times before.
As this happened, Chelia, who was still near the entrance with an utterly confused expression on her face, finally decided to make herself known as she spoke something that most people would probably say in such a situation.
"…What did I just saw?"
"GAH!" Nearly everyone aside from Observer jumped in shocked, caught off guard by the voice of the Sky God Slayer. Marvell even jumped to her feet and pulled out her bat in a defensive position, ready to bash the skull in of whoever the intruder was.
'Hmm… déjà vu.' Observer thought to himself, recalling this same thing happening when Kagura and Millianna showing up. Meanwhile everyone finally spotted the pink haired girl near the entrance of the guild hall with surprised expressions. Marvell herself calming down when she saw it was just Chelia.
"Chelia?" Wendy spoke up in surprise as she got off of her seat. She was happy to see her friend, but was confused by her sudden appearance, "What are you doing here?"
"Uh… I wanted to visit you and hang out for a bit. But uh… what's going on? What's with the star guy? And why is there another you next to you?" Chelia shared while pointing towards Observer then towards Marvell.
Seeing this, Wendy made her way over towards her friend as Marvell also followed suit. Romeo also did so just in case to make sure nothing happened involving Marvell before they all arrived next to her.
"Well uh… the star guy is named Observer, and this is my older double from another alternate reality… who has growing breasts…" Wendy shared before grumbling that last part to herself, which no one seemed to hear. Taking this chance to introduce herself, Marvell spoke up with a grin on her face.
"What's up? I'm Wendy Marvell from Earthland 137-C. I'm going to join a massive harem to give my Natsu love and children in the future! Not only will I be taller, but I'll also have awesome banging tits! I also kill zombies, lickers, genetic horrors and vile men and women with zero mercy just like my big sisters Sam and Knightwalker! I also carry a punishment baseball bat for when Gray strips like a pervert!" Marvell finished as she still had her grin on her face all while giving Chelia a thumbs up.
"WHAT KIND OF INTRODUCTION IS THAT?!" Nearly everyone shouted at the same time aside from Observer. The Constellar only shook his head from how Marvell spoke, already used to her antics.
Chelia blinked in utter confusion.
"…Okay there's a lot you said that concerns me, but… you like Natsu?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Sure do, sadly though your own Wendy only sees your own Natsu as an older brother. But hey, at least Cana likes hi-."
*BONK*
"OW!" Marvell shouted as somehow with speed she didn't have before Cana arrive to their spot and interrupted Marvell's words with a hit to the head before anyone could catch on, causing her to clutch her skull while glaring bloody murder towards the nervous looking Card Mage.
"ANYWAY! What brings you here again?" Cana asked to Chelia, who looked rather concern and confused by all of this.
"Uh… like I said earlier I came to see and hang out with Wendy. But uh… why is there another Wendy here? And that Observer guy Wendy mentioned… who's he? And how come I saw what looked like another older me in that blue smoke up ahead?" Chelia questioned, utterly puzzled by how things were going. This wasn't what she was expecting when he came to visit Fairy Tail.
Everyone looked at one another as Wendy sighed.
"Come sit down, we'll give you a rundown." Wendy offered, to which Chelia accepted with a nod.
…You know I didn't think this chapter would ever get to be this long. Honestly this might be the longest chapter I've ever written. Has anyone ever had something like this happen? You think of something to write and it doesn't seem like it would be too long but as you write it, it ends up being much longer than you thought? Or is that just me?
Anyway, that's the end of that timeline, and Chelia shows up to join the others. She'll most likely be the last one to show up, so don't expect any other characters to arrive to watch more alternate timelines.
Now, as I said last chapter there were some references in here or inspired events from other series and stuff, so let's go over them shall we?
Axol Inkweaver: He's a character inspired by a character of the same name and similar appearance and abilities from SMG4. His pen Inkweaver also included. The event of Inkweaver being taken away from him for nefarious purposes is also based from the original SMG4, however it was put for conquest and more vile things than simply someone wanting to make an island of anime waifus at the expense of a race of inklings.
Zin and the Inama Empire: Inama is invert of the word Amani, which is the name of a Troll empire and tribe from WoW. Zin himself is based off the now deceased Amani Troll Zul'jin. Zin also appears in my other story "Torn World".
Asce: He's a character that appears in my other story "Torn World".
Natsu's appearance and certain events that took place in his life are based off most of the Orc warlords from alternate Draenor and their main universe counterparts in WoW. Natsu's blade fist weapon and the way he severed his own arm is based off Kargath Bladefist. Natsu's hand being encased in stone and now having a black armored gauntlet that glows red like a furnace is based off Blackhand. The wolf pelt he wears and how it happened is based off Durotan. The shoulderpad he wears and the event where he becomes known as the man with the iron will by an enemy Emperor is based off the one alternate Grommash Hellscream wears and what he went through by the hands of an Orge Imperator. The loss of his left eye is based off Kilrogg Deadeye, however the way Natsu looses it is not the same as Kilrogg purposely removed his eye to see his future death while Natsu simply lost his in battle. And while a stretch, this Natsu possess Fel Magic due to being a Fel Demon alongside E.N.D, thus is similar to Gul'dan when it comes to possessing Fel Magic.
And I think that's pretty much it. I will admit, this chapter was a pain to write about. But now, I can continue onward.
