Chapter 71: Bonus Chapter 6

The Last Königstiger

X - X - X

The Battle of Berlin is coming to an end. The Soviets already arrive near the Moltke Bridge. But they are unable to cross due to the continous shelling from the Zoo Flak Tower. The Germans are using the deadly and accurate 128mm gun to obliterate any Soviet armored vehicles which was achieved very easily due to its superior penetration. But the Soviet armours are seemingly endless. Wave upon wave of T-34s and IS-2s continue to roll down near the bridge. They too begin shelling the Reichstag along with the ISU-152s and Katyushas.

But the Germans are not going to let the Reichstag got destroyed so easily. They still have their own armored fighting vehicles, including one fearsome King Tiger. The King Tiger was tasked to repel any kind of Soviey armors lining up near the bridge. Using its accurate and powerful 88mm gun it is able to destroy any kind of Soviet tanks easily. Moreover, the King Tiger itself is sitting in a dug out position so only the turret can be seen. This means it is almost impervious to any kind of shell due to its impressive 185mm thick turret. The crew fought bravely, using every kind of shell in their disposal. From APCR to APHE all the way down to HE only.

They fought tirelessly against the never ending Soviet tanks. The tanks around them, ranging from Panzer IV to Panther had been knocked out of combat. The King Tiger is the only one still fighting as of now. They have exhausted all of their ammunition even the machine guns are out of ammo. The ammo depot nearby was also already depleted.

Suddenly a 152mm shell from an ISU-152 hits the King Tiger right on the turret. While it didn't penetrate, the shockwave itself was enough to create a severe concussion to the crews and the barrel of the tank's gun has been destroyed entirely. Recovering from their nausea they bail out from the tank and try to run away from the battlefield. They know the Soviet would kill them even if they surrender. The only hope for them is to surrender to the American side. They'll be more forgiving than the Red Army.
