Xeni approached Jeffery when Nero and Kyrie were out of the room. She picked up his thrown ax and walked slowly towards him. She looked at him and looked at his other ax. "Not a bad combination. A couple of axes and a handgun. I probably would have used a short shotgun myself and maybe a couple of swords. Make sure that aiming wasn't a problem."

Jeffery told her, "Let me down, human, or I swear I'll -"

"You'll what?" Xeni asked. "You know, there's one thing about Devil May Cry agents that I don't like."

Jeffery looked at her.

"They don't seem to finish jobs." Xeni then swung the ax and cut Jeffery down and he fell into the shards and spikes. She looked down over the bridge to make sure he was dead and when she was sure of it, she propped the ax on her shoulder and asked herself, "I wonder if I've got a knack for this demon killing business?"

The monitor turned off and Kurtz turned to face Calhoun with despairing eyes. He swallowed hard in his chair, picking at his white ruffled cuffs and patting his white, thick wig. Looking for something to say to the man standing before him, he found nothing in his red pantaloons or black dress shoes. His rouge felt heavy and runny as he looked at Calhoun, finally saying, "I thought - I assumed that our hunters would be… we have done this game since before -"

"Please, Kurtz. Spare me," Calhoun said with a soft pat. He was a broad, tall man. Dressed simply, but sharply, holding a conniving, genius way about him. Even Kurtz, as smart and proud as he held himself, was in awe of this man. Calhoun spoke again. His voice soft, but filled with harsh, blazing focus. "I am well aware of how long your soiree has gone on. Do you have any of the primagen left?"

Kurtz dug into his pockets and pulled three, large vials of the stuff. The black, sparkling liquid moved about in their glass containers like thick syrup, but shone like a brilliant, starry night.

"Perfect," Calhoun hissed. "Collect the samples." This time he was not speaking to Kurtz. He was ordering one of his faceless guards beside him. There were five of them, decked-out in carbon black armor with hoses leading up to these weird masks. Tinted glass and red lights where their eyes should be. They were armed with heavy, tactical weaponry as one of them grabbed the vials and put them in a compartment in their armor.

"We'll collect the rest. Your cooperation in this matter has been most… predictable," Calhoun said.

"There is no more primagen. Those were the only vials left."

"No, I mean the bodies."

Kurtz furrowed his brow in confusion. "The bodies? What use -"

"They are now property of ShadowWatch. Since they were all injected with the primagen, that makes them my problem."

"Some of them aren't dead though," Kurtz said.

"Dead or not, they are property of ShadowWatch. Did you not read that section of the contract?"

Kurtz told Calhoun, "I can't let you take our hunters. Word would spread. I can't have that." As he spoke, he wrapped his fingers around a gun hidden in his chair.

Calhoun turned with a small smile. "I wasn't planning on letting you continue with this soiree anyway."

That was when several assault rifles were shoved in Kurtz's face, pulling his gun too slow. He was turned into a bloody mess as he was riddled with bullets.

Calhoun grinned as he told his guards, "Lucille, send several of these units to go collect the living subjects and the dead ones. All primagen needs to be collected for reevaluation."

Three faceless guards saluted Calhoun and marched away.

Calhoun let out a disappointed sigh. "I thought for sure these people with a little bit of Dr. Terasawa's concoction flowing through their veins would make a bigger impact on a Devil May Cry agent. They could barely handle a werewolf though." Another sigh came from Calhoun as he walked away. Then he stopped and asked himself, "I wonder if that Xeni girl was right?" He looked at the other two guards, telling them, "Lucille, start program Baby Nest for Xeni. I want to see what that woman can do. Keep her away from any other nest mates."

A soft, caring, female voice came from one of the guards, telling Calhoun, "Program running, commander. Executing incubation stage for Xeni Sandwood."

(A/N: Here it is Christmas, finished the Halloween story arc. I'm so sorry about this guys. Wish I could have finished them on time. You would have been reading the first chapter of the Christmas arc by now. Life took a nosedive for the worst though, but I still have stayed on my monthly schedule, and, I am happy to announce, that there are three more chapters up for this Christmas... even though they are Halloween. I still thoroughly enjoy doing the holiday themed cases, and I know you guys enjoy them as well. It's why I do them. Merry Christmas everyone! R&R! Haven't done that one in awhile!)
