Dream Man
"don't turn around" prompt
Lucy screams. 'Oh god, oh god, Oh My God!' "Don't turn around Natsu, Please don't turn around!" 'Why is he in the middle of my living room butt naked!' Emphasis on the very nice butt view Lucy just received.
"Why not?" Natsu turns around and walks over to where Lucy is standing. He tries to gently pry her fingers away from her face, but they don't budge. "We're partners. I've seen you naked, you've seen me naked, what's the big deal?"
To see someone you have an unrequited love for, stark naked was a very big deal! This is not normal! And back to the original question.
"Natsu, why are you naked?"
He laughs. "To surprise you."
"What!" Lucy seems to forget her predicament, her hands flying up in irritation while she screams at him. "What made you choose this way to surprise me! Are you trying to…" her eyes land too low along his body and she remembers. "Oh my God!" Lucy covers her face again. "Please, Natsu this isn't funny!"
"Don't you like what you see?" There's an obvious grin in his tone that she can't see but can hear. "You girls are always reading those naughty books, at least this is real."
"It's not the same thing," Lucy sighs, "you just don't understand Natsu."
"I think I do." He leans in close and whispers something that turns her blush into a firestorm. "Don't I?"
"Oh my god," she mutters. "Natsu were not in that kind of relationship!"
"Maybe… I'd like to change that."
Lucy stays quiet while she processes those words. She can hear what seems like the sounds of rustling fabric. She prays that he's come to his senses and put some clothes back on!
"I'm serious," he finally breaks the din. "I thought you might like it because of all the books I know you read. You know, be your dream guy, but I guess I was wrong." Natsu sighs, "This love stuff is still too confusing to me."
That settles a few things for Lucy, helping to calm her down. Natsu really was serious and it was clear that she wasn't the only one pining for the other. It made her heart leap a little, but that didn't mean she wanted to start things off like this!
"A-Are you clothed?"
"Yeah."
Lucy drops her hands to find Natsu had thrown his boxers on, but that was all. At least she couldn't see his 'package' anymore. She sighs and takes a seat next to the forlorn man, placing a tentative hand near his knee.
After a long, deep breath. "Natsu, you already are my dream man." There she said it aloud. Her heart was still thumping wildly but she'd managed to take that first leap. "And I'm just as confused about love as you."
"But those books?"
"Are fantasy." Lucy giggles, "we know there's no such thing as a perfect prince who sweeps the girl off her feet. And honestly, I wouldn't want something so boring, at least that's how I came to feel after meeting you."
"Me?" Natsu looks up surprised.
"Yes you!" She laughs. "You're life, you're fun, silly, strong, but so utterly caring. You are nothing like the guys in the romance novels…" her cheeks flare up and she turns away, "but that exactly what I like about you."
Natsu scratches the back of his neck, chuckling, "I guess I kinda screwed things up, huh?"
She laughs, "well a little… but it's okay."
"Lucy, could we start over then? I don't know what I'm supposed to do right now, but I really do like you."
"You could… ask me out on a real date…"
