*Hey guys please don't be mad at me... It's been a shit show these last few months. Anyway, enjoy the chapter!
Charlie honked when she pulled up the drive way and poor Sam had 3 book bags to carry out to the car but still helped his brother get in the back. "This sucks." Dean grumbled. When Charlie pulled parked the car she saw Cas waiting on the sidewalk.
"I'm going to assume you haven't told him yet?" Charlie guessed as she shut off the car and waved Cas towards them.
"Not exactly." Dean sighed.
Cas saw Charlie pull up and saw Sam in the front seat and got instantly confused. When Charlie waved him over he had a sinking feeling Dean wasn't telling him the whole truth about falling down the stairs.
As Castiel go closer to Charlie's vehicle all he saw was Charlie reaching into the back seat and she pulled out a pair of crutches and set them off to the side. "Dean what the fuck!" Cas freaked running up to the back door.
"Well hi to you too." Dean grouched.
"When you said you were a little sore I thought you meant that you bumped your head not that you broke your fucking foot! Why didn't you call me?!" Cas almost yelled but still helped his mate out of the car.
"Because you were busy. I'm fine." Dean snapped back.
"You obviously are not fine Dean!" Sam and Charlie just quietly walked away not wanting to be in the middle of the little fight.
"Who got you out from the basement anyway?" Cas asked trying to calm down and took both book bags.
"Charlie." Dean said softly. "I didn't want to bother you because I knew you would run out of training to sit with me. The faster you get this stupid training over the sooner you can stop leaving on the weekends." Dean confessed.
People kept giving Dean glances all day and he was sick of it already. It didn't help that he had health today and he didn't want to sit through more awkward lessons. It didn't help that Damian would send him glances and wink at him. He almost go an Alistair vibe from him but he wouldn't dare tell Cas about it until something actually happened. Dean was in pain, he was tired and his armpits hurt from the stupid crutches, he just wanted to go home.
"Now that we've gone through the different types of reproduction and male omega reproductive systems, there will be a test next Monday. Now, we have two 'robot' babies that are extremely sensitive and have two monitors in it. One in the mouth area and one in the stomach area. You will get special bracelets that have a sensor on it and you may not take off. You will get an extra one that is considered the "baby sitter key". You will have this doll for 4 days, you may choose which days to take the doll. You will give it a gender, a name and you will care for it as if it was a real live pup. It comes with a bag, you will have a change of clothes, a bottle and an extra diaper. You will have a car seat. Each time the baby cries it tracks how long it takes for you to figure out what is wrong with it and you must log each time the bracelet or the baby sitter key is used. Any questions?" Mrs. Willson explained and Cas raised his hand.
"Yes mr. Novak?"
"Uh.. Well, since Dean and I already have a living pup, are we still required to have the doll?" Cas asked and Dean wanted to punch him and hide under the table at the same time.
"Good point. Alright for the two of you, for 4 days each you will write down every time you change, feed, bathe, or nurture your child. Each night I want you to do a video diary of how the day goes." Mrs. Willson decided and the bell rang saving Dean from the embarrassment of more questions and stares.
"I can't believe you fucking did that." Dean angrily whispered as they left the class room.
"What? Did you really want to take care of Henry AND a doll?" Cas asked trying to take Dean's book bag but he just pulled it higher up his shoulder.
"No, Cas, but you could have at least waited until after class or even after school." Dean huffed.
"I don't understand why you're getting so upset about this."
"Because everyone was staring at us Cas!" Dean practically yelled and took off as fast as he could on crutches to his last class of the day.
"Okay boys, I know I've been gone a while so why don't we do a quick review." Mrs. Tran said after they all got seated. "Why don't you both sign the alphabet to me then we'll do a quick review of the simple things I showed you." She continued.
The boys quickly went through the alphabet and got through the simple things like milk, more, cat etc…
"Wow, you both have pretty great memories most people forget most of those after a while. I think it'll be a good time to advance to some phrases and gestures next week." Mrs. Tran said while packing up.
After saying goodbye to Mrs. Tran the boys cleaned up the dining room table and headed towards the stairs.. "Do you want me to carry you?" Cas asked.
"No. I can manage." Dean replied.
"Dean. I don't know why you're so mad at me but please let me help you down the stairs." Cas pleaded.
"Fine." Dean huffed and wrapped his arms around Cas' neck when he swiped him in his arms. Once they were at the bottom of the stairs Dean realized he left the crutches upstairs.
"I need my crutches." He stated once Cas set him down on the couch.
"I'll go get them." Cas said and went to squeeze Dean's shoulder but he moved away. Sam just awkwardly stood there, after coming out of the bathroom.
"Okay well I can feel the tension, I'm going to head upstairs.. Uh, Henry's out so yeah. Night!" Sam said and ran up the stairs.
Cas came back down and set the crutches next to Dean and just stood there. "You gonna tell me why you're mad or what?" Cas asked.
"The fact that you have to ask me why I'm mad just makes me even more mad." Dean said.
"Is this about health class?" Cas asked, Dean just huffed and crossed his arms. "It is isn't it!" He laughed.
"I'M SO HAPPY THAT MY EMBARRASSMENT IS FUNNY TO YOU CASTIEL!" Dean shouted.
"I'm sorry that I embarrassed you but it was a valid situation!" Cas said angrily.
"YES BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN ASKED AFTER CLASS!" Dean continued to yell.
"Stop yelling! You're going to wake up Henry!" Cas hissed. "Why is it so embarrassing anyway?" he asked.
"Because Cas, you don't see how they look at me. You don't know the things I hear them whisper about. They're not going to judge you or say anything about you because you the mighty alpha stud who knocked up a 16 year old omega slut!" Dean said defeatedly and started crying.
"You heard what that Damian kid said the other day. You saw what they wrote on the Impala shortly after I had Henry. You've seen some of it Cas but you don't know." Dean said. Cas' heart was breaking, he knew Dean had troubles with this but he never knew it was ever this bad.
"Dean.. Why.. Why didn't you ever say something? I would have helped or kicked their asses." Cas whispered and knelt in front of his mate.
"Because there's nothing you can or could have done. I'm an omega Cas. It wouldn't have mattered if we had Henry 10 years from now I'd still be labeled a slut or a whore." Dean sniffed.
"Honey.. I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry." Cas whispered and cupped Dean's face. "Look at me please" he begged and Dean looked up with watery eyes and saw a few tears in Cas'.
"I hate that they treat you this way and it kills me to see you like this. I'm sorry for being an ass earlier." Cas said softly. "Let's get you cleaned up and let's go to bed." He gently picked Dean up once again and carried him to the bathroom.
"Okay, we can either drape your leg out of the tub or I can wash your hair over the tub and you can just wipe off. Up to you." Cas said once Dean was seated on the closed toilet and Cas took his glasses off.
Dean sniffed and ran his hand over his face. "I don't care." Dean whispered finally just giving up on today's emotions. He watched as Cas got the water turned on and put the plug in the bottom of the tub. "My foot hurts." He mumbled softly.
"Did you get some pain meds?" Cas asked and shut the water off.
"Mom's bringing them home, pharmacy was closed yesterday." Dean explained and let Cas maneuver him into the tub to where his right leg was propped out.
"You comfortable?" Cas asked.
"Not really just get this over with please."
Cas grabbed a washcloth and dunked it into the water and started wiping along Dean's shoulders and arms and worked his way crossed the boys body. "I don't have a cup…" Cas admitted.
Dean laughed and laughed. "I don't understand why that's so funny." Cas said but couldn't help but laugh as well. "I'll call Sam real quick."
"Hello?" Sam answered.
"Can you bring a cup down here? Like a bigger one so I can wash Dean's hair?" Cas asked and he heard Sams laughter come through the speakers.
"Yeah give me a minute." Sam said and hung up.
The boys just sat there in a comfortable silence when they heard Sam come down the stairs. "Cas!" Sam whisper yelled, "I am NOT going in there!"
Dean just rolled his eyes and Cas chuckled and met him outside the door. "Thank you." Cas said and took the cup.
"No problem, see you in the morning." Sam said and retreated upstairs.
Once Dean was out of the tub he balanced on one leg while Cas quickly dried him off as best as he could before wrapping him back up in the towel and picking him up again. They just came out of the bathroom when Mary came down.
"Hi boys." She greeted.
"Hi mom." Dean said quietly feeling a little embarrassed she saw him like this.
"I got your pain meds honey. Now it's too late for you to take them tonight so I brought you some Tylenol and Ibuprofen, take two of each, one will help with swelling one will help with pain. Now, the pain pills are going to be with Cas since they can become addictive. You can have 2 a day, tops if necessary but I suggest you only take one then switch to the Tylenol and Ibuprofen." Mary explained and walked the pills over to Dean.
"Okay, thank you." Dean said.
"You're welcome, I'll leave you guys be now I'm sure Cas is getting tired of holding you." Mary teased. "Night boys love you!" She called as she headed up the stairs.
It took a while to get comfortable for both boys. Dean, not being one to sleep on his back had the most issues where Cas was afraid he'd accidentally kick Dean's foot. Needless to say it was a rough night for them and it didn't help when Henry woke up at 4 in the morning with a fever and a cough.
Cas had stayed up with him the rest of the night not being able to get him to go back to sleep for very long. When he heard the alarm clock go off in the bedroom he knew one of them would have to stay home.
A few minutes later Dean came in the nursery. "How's he doing?" he whispered.
"Okay I guess. Still has a small fever and coughing every now and then. One of us is going to have to stay home with him." Cas said.
"I don't see why we both cant." Dean said. "I mean my foot is killing me, we both slept like shit and Henry's sick."
"That is true.." Cas said thoughtfully.
"I'll call mom and have her call us in." Dean said and made his way back to their room.
