Mirii swung her fist towards the floating girl, but the long-fringed lady tilted herself over her left side and grew her eyes.

"H-hey!" She flew backwards. "I-I want to be your best friend!"

"Quit that nonsense!" Mirii barked over her rival, as she bended her knees and showed her fists. "Release everyone right in this instant!"

The flying girl was trembling, sweating a lot and waving her arms around.

"Bu-but"

"NOW!" Mirii threw her arms down, as her eyes expanded.

"... sn-sniff...!" A tear fell from below her long fringe, as her mouth waved. "M-my idol... hates me..."

Mirii showed her gritting teeth, as her eyes squeezed a little.

"... I will hate you less, if you restore everything back to normal..." She closed her mouth, lifting it a bit.

"H-huh...?" The girl kept her mouth open.

Mirii folded her arms, as her head rose.

"Get rid of this putrid liquid, free everyone who sunk into it... do it."

"... I-I can't do it..." She sighed.

"Hmpf!" Mirii's eyes closed. "You wasted your opportunity"

"I-I can't stop this thing!" The girl opened her arms widely, as sweat flew off her head. "My ink is ineffective against it... only the ink from a Shrine citizen works against it."

"Kelly..." Mirii's mind was mentally seeing her friend. "... where is she, now...?"

"Maybe something else could work against it..." The girl brought her right hand on her chin. "I just found out about it recently, when one of the scientists told me what this thing is!"

"... scientist...?" Mirii's eyes reopened with her irises already shrunk.

"Yeah, they made this." The girl nodded. "They wanted us to try it somewhere... and well, I thought I would put it in a good use"

"Bu-but you are a Demon Squid..." Mirii's face went paler. "Wh-why a scientist would talk with such mystical creatures l-like you...?!"

"It's not something unusual..." The girl shook her head. "We talked to them many times, before."

"... the scientists... collaborated with the Demon Squids?!" Mirii's head turned over her right side, noticing one of the shadows passing nearby.

"But they never explained to me how to get rid of this stupid liquid..." Her hands clasped, as they went over her head's right side. "I was hoping you would figure out, since you are so smart...!"

"I'm smart but not perfect!" Her eyes went wide. "I'm perfect! The true perfectionist known to Squid-kind!"

"Aaaahh, I love hearing your enthusiasm!" The girl grinned. "I'm sure you will be able to solve this mystery in no time!"

"Of course I will!" Mirii's right arm thrusted towards her. "But first, I need a weapon who allows me to interact with this liquid!"

"But you are a mortal... as I said, your ink doesn't do anything to this liquid, unless you have some special ink at your disposal." The girl sighed. "There was a Shrine girl before, who was using her own ink to defeat this liquid, but she lost right when she was getting used to her rivals..."

"You let Kelly sink inside this putrid liquid too?!" Mirii stomped her right foot.

"Aaaah, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Sweat bounced off her head, as her arms went in front of her chest. "I didn't knew she was a friend of yours or something...!"

"Grrrr..." Mirii's eyes squeezed. "What about those two shadows who are following me around?! They claim that you turned my friends into those beings!"

"... eh eh eh..." The girl grinned at her, while bringing her hands behind her back.

"... bring them back to normal..." A vein popped out from Mirii's forehead, althought it retreated right back in. "N-not yet, actually!" Sweat emerged in its place instead. "Without their wind skills, I would be forced to inhale the terrible smell that this liquid is producing...!"

"The smell is not too bad for me... but I see that it's a problem for you." The girl smiled. "Doesn't this mean that I did well turning them into shadows?"

"You would have done better if you never caused any trouble in the first place..." Mirii's head looked over her left side, as she faced the liquid. "But back on the dilemma... how can we get rid of this liquid?"

"Hmm..." The girl touched her right cheek with her right forefinger.

"... if only Shrine citizens can attack this liquid... that means I would have to call them and request recruitments..." Mirii's eyes squeezed a little. "... hmm..."

"I don't have much ideas..." The girl chuckled, as a sweat drop appeared on her right side and her right forefinger gently rubbed her right side of her chin.

"... how come Kelly sunk inside the liquid if she possesses the ink for repelling it?" Mirii folded her arms. "Shouldn't the liquid react, once she comes in contact with it?"

"She ran out of ink, actually..." The girl's mouth downturned. "Without it, she sunk like everything I saw..."

"If she ran out of ink... that means she was using it with something." Mirii's head lowered. "Was she using it with a weapon...?"

"If you notice, there is still the magenta path she formed before."

Mirii's head rose back, noticing a magenta path in front of her eyes.

"I don't have any magenta candy with me!" She frowned. "... I could still use a weapon, though..." She looked over the girl. "Can I cover this ink with my own?"

"I think?" The asked lady shrugged.

"... fly over the hanging weapons and retrieve a weapon I can use." Mirii stepped towards the path. "I will try using my ink on this path and see if I can cross it."

"It doesn't go too far, though..." The girl flew backwards a bit, until she snapped a quick turn and air-dashed towards the distant wall. "I will give it to you anywaaayyy!"

"... I hope I can find enough evidence to stop this disgusting creation..." Her irises went over her right side. "... scientists cooperating with Demon Squids, huh..."
