Mirii rose her head, as she was heading towards the tall tower along with Hun and her soon-to-be foes. Her hands were holding a Splat Charger with a scope on its back.
Inklings and humanoid jellyfishes were cheering, throwing their fists in the air, even swinging their shirts up in the air!
The smartphones were up in the air, releasing flashes everywhere! Mirii turned behind, assisting at the whole scene and frowning visibly at all that.
"Those fools!" Her teeth showed. "If it wasn't for their actions, the station would had still been sealed...!" Her eyes squeezed. "Even though we are using this battle as a gateway for a possible, heavier attack... I would rather keep the station closed and craft another plan than this!"
"The fighters are venturing inside the station!"
Mirii's ears rose, as her irises shrunk a bit.
"Each of them has a weapon... except for one."
The girl's head turned over her right side, as she noticed the Squid Sisters striking poses and smiling at the crowd in their unique ways. The duo was appearing on a large television screen, whose sounds blasted from its edges.
"Is that... the same Squid who uses his alternate form to attack?!" Callie had her eyes shiny, striking her fists in front of her face, ready to shake them quickly. "The same one who was supposed to participate with his friends in that forgotten Global Testfire?!"
"You guessed it." Marie nodded, keeping both her posture and her slow hand movements. "That's better than you forgetting about it..."
"... ah?" Callie looked back at her partner, shrinking her irises and making her mind work.
"He's been mentioned a lot..." Marie closed her eyes, keeping her control tightly. "... we even dedicated a whole talk show about him..."
"Aaaaahh!" Callie slapped herself on the head, shaping her face expression as a caricature of it. "It has been a while!"
"You guessed it again..." Marie's hands moved close to each other, as if the girl was ready to strike an applause. "... keep up with the good work..."
"Wasn't the team composed by 4 Squids instead of 2?!" Callie brought her right hand over her forehead, scouting the moving group as closely as Squidly possible. "Or is the Squid so powerful, he's showing all his megalomaniac nature by going all alone against 4?!" She gasped, hiding her mouth with her fists.
"That girl was part of the team..." Marie lazily aimed her forefinger in an unspecified point. "... but still, the Inkinators is a team of 4 Squids... those 2 will never beat them in a normal fight, unless they are... I don't know, OP or something..."
"OP what?!" Calie squeezed her hands, pressing on her mind so hard, veins popped out from her forehead.
"... Overpowered." Marie roller irises, snorting in the process. "Have you played a fighting game or something...?"
"All the time!" Now a fiery aura was surrounding Callie.
"Yeah, sure..." Marie stared over the right side, walking closer towards the interested point. "They are entering..."
"Gooooo!" Callie threw her right fist in the air, cheering at the top of her lungs. "Get that tuuuuurrf!"
"... good luck..." Marie smiled a little, concentrating her sight onto the only girl shown currently on a small monitor.
The girl in question is Mirii, whose attention shifted over the incoming, yet familiar interior...
"Who will win?!" Callie grabbed her cheeks, pulling them so hard, her pupils were fully exposed. "The eternal question!"
"If you can wait until the final results, the question will not be so eternal...!" Marie sniped one more look onto Mirii, before looking back at her partner.
"But I can't wait at all!" Callie was sobbing on her own, almost fainting and lifting her only visible fist. "Give me the situations! The pleasure of watching Squids taking names!"
"Taking names, huh..." Marie had a small chuckle, while hugging her stomach with her unique folding arms movements.
The young woman freed herself, looking over the large monitor where everyone else was staring at.
"We will take a short commercial break, before super-jumping back to the action..."
"We will make it in time to see the beginning of the match?!" Callie clasped her hands, almost praying, as her eyes went watery. "That's the best moment!"
"Sure, sure..." Marie swung her arm, winking at the camera. "And remember folks..."
The two striked their signature poses.
"Stay freeeeessh!"
As the giant screen was now exposing a smiley face printed on a tube, the Inklings were either chatting with each other or interacting with their smartphones.
In the middle of the crowd, a tall Inkling girl was walking through with her sunglasses shining against the sun, followed by an even taller Inkling boy who was wearing a large cap and a mask covering his mouth.
"Eh eh eh..." A sparkle appeared on her sunglasses' top-right edge. "Just a few more feet and our tentacles made it into the station...!"
"Like, shouldn't we get our weapons...?" Carlson had his hands inside his pockets, proceeding without noticing any of the Inklings surrounding him.
"I bet we got ours right inside the station...!" Greta grinned to the left side, ready to snicker behind her teeth.
"Huh?!" A nearby Inkling girl had her mouth open and her eyes already scanning everything in her sight. "Where is Greta?!"
Greta?!
Aaaaahh!
GRETA!
GRETAAA!
Where are yoooouu?!
All the sudden, the plaza turned into a large mess of Inklings pointing at each other and announcing the next random Inkling in a loud shout.
Eventually, the disguised duo went past the last couple of Squids and faced the tower in all its mighty appearance.
Greta smiled widely... as she dashed after the entrance. Carlson sprinted a bit later, catching up with her friend in a few seconds.
The two entered inside, as they soon meet Mirii listening to an external dialogue. Her irises quickly found the approaching friends... as the girl smiled and walked towards them.
"Finally!" Her eyes closed.
"Turf Wars... here I come!"
