Prompt from EvilApril: Hey was wondering if you could do a story where Jacob drowns and Evie has to save him, possibly A blighter knocks him out and into the the river Thames, Evie even having to do cpr. Thanks :)

SPLASH

Jacob didn't know what happened.

He felt the icy water strike him, soaking his clothes instantly, and losing his hat in the process. He opened his eyes in horror, everything around him a murky grey.

He'd know this colour anywhere.

He'd fallen in the Thames.

How though?

Ten seconds ago, he was on his feet against some Blighters and now… he was drowning. A prisoner under the water, with no way of escape. The brutal impact with the river had frozen him to his core, preventing him from struggling to the surface, his vision getting darker.

As he started to fade, he faintly heard his name up above.

He was too weak to do anything about it though.

Something hit the surface.

SPLASH.

He saw a hand coming towards him, vaguely spotting colours of red and black before he closed his eyes again. The hands grabbed his waist, and somehow, he felt less cold then, unable to hold his breath any longer as he opened his mouth and water rushed in.

And everything went black.

…..

Jacob lay on his side, not responding to her at all.

"Jacob! Jacob!"

Grabbing his wrist, she sighed in relief when she felt her brother's weak pulse, quickly turning him onto his back and pressing her lips to his, blowing air into his lungs. Pulling away quickly, she then starting pumping on Jacob's chest, silently begging him to wake up.

Again, and again, she repeated the process, until Jacob coughed up water, sucking in a desperate breath of air.

"I told you to watch your back." She scolded, although not with a sense of relief, "You're lucky I saw that Blighter hit you."

Jacob slowly opened his eyes, placing a hand on his sister's arm and smiling weakly up at her.

"I knew you loved me…" He whispered, giggling and coughing as Evie bopped his forehead.

"I was trying to get you to breathe!"

"You're like Prince Charming in all those girly books you like!"

"Shut up!"
