"Who could have possibly won, today...?"
Mirii had her smartphone in her hands, sitting on a chair and surrounded by her 3 friends whose eyes were staring each over specific points surrounding them.
"According to Greta..." Her right hand scratched her right cheek. "... there was still a lot of ground to cover... which means our chances of victory are lower than our rivals…"
She leaned herself forward, as her eyes squeezed a little.
"I just hope that it wasn't the case..." Her eyes finally shut. "We must had conquered many turf portions...! I wouldn't know where I could have found some terrain to cover, aside from the one near their spawn..."
"I have to say..." A sweat drop appeared on Hun's right side of his head. "... I'm a bit anxious about this..."
Greta smiled a bit, as she stretched her left hand and caressed the boy's chin.
"It's just a silly battle, after all." She nodded. "It exists only to have an audience for your unique transformation."
Mirii looked at the little scene: her right hand pushed the fingers again, then she caressed Hun's chin with her whole hand.
"I'm sure we earned something incredible for our fight...!"
"Like, we earned money?" Carlson had his eyes onto his smartphone.
"Hmpf!" Mirii's head rose. "We earned popularity due to our sophisticate strategies..."
"How they are gonna say the results, by the way...?" Greta sighed, carrying her left hand over her left cheek, while her left hand was balancing on the table with her left elbow. "This room is so useless..." Her eyelids were standing in the middle.
"I saw a bunch of speakers hiding on the top corners." Mirii nodded. "They will say the results from those battles, I bet..."
Thank you for waiting!
A familiar voice blasted through various points of the room, as the Inklings' heads lifted.
We finally have the results of the Global Testfire!
"... it can't be..." Greta shook her head, while folding her arms. "How can someone count that smoothly...?"
With a percentage of 55, the winner is...
Everyone held their breathes...
...
...
...
... the Inkinators!
Hun and Greta jumped out of their chairs, yelling their victories! Carlson smiled, resuming his smartphone watching right after: he received a hug from Greta.
Hun moved near Mirii, as his arms wrapped around her. The two blushed, as her right hand petted the top of his arm...
"We won our first Turf War battle..." Mirii closed her eyes. "I... I couldn't be prouder than this, Hunley..."
Suddenly, the door's room opened widely: everyone shifted their sights onto the door, as they witnessed a storm of their ex-rivals whose mouths were all smiles.
"Tee hee hee!" Zira captured Hun with her tight hug, pulling him away from Mirii. "You did it, you did it!"
Hun opened his mouth, blushing a bit. Mirii stood up from her chair, turning and lowering her eyebrows a bit.
Ana was already standing in front of Mirii, smiling back at her.
"Congratulations." She giggled. "You did it!"
"... thank you." Mirii smiled a bit, while tilting her head towards her right side.
"I was so impressed with your Charger skills!" Ana's hands clenched into fists, moved them in front of her mouth, while her eyes sparkled. "How did you aim everything this well?!"
"I used both my experience and my skills." Mirii nodded. "You see"
Even though the Inkinators won the match... Temanga was also showcasing some sick teamwork plays!
"Yay!" Zira jumped in place, smiling and giggling on her own.
Which is why... both teams receive the same prize!
...
"EH?!" Everyone shouted.
That's right! We were so impressed with everyone who participated in this Global Testfire... so much, we are willing to prize all its participants!
Enrick shouted with a smile, raising his fists! Nick bended his knees near the table, but he noticed Ana looking at him... he grinned before raising his knees back.
"... odd..." Mirii's head rose, as her eyelids went to the midde. "Why would the staff be willing to spend the same amount of money to prize the contestants...?"
"What prize are they talking about?!" Zira rubbed her hands. "Money?! More weapons?! Cuddles?!" She gasped loudly, while her hands went on her cheeks. "… coooookies?!" She grinned widely.
Someone walked at the door, immediately capturing everyone's attention: as she stepped in, an Inkling woman wearing an elegant attire, bowed in front of everyone.
"I'm just a normal employee." The woman lifted her posture, bringing her hands down on the middle. "I wanted to announce the arrive of your prize...!"
"Hold on!" Ana brought her right hand onto her chin. "But we never gave anyone our addresses!"
"Yeah, what's going on?!" Enrick stepped in. "They told us that the data"
"We don't need your addresses..." The woman's glasses shined for a moment. "... because the vehicle will come here itself."
Almost all the members of Temanga had their jaws dropped.
"... don't tell me..." Mirii's mouth shaped a small dot.
"Is this a paid ride towards some natural wonders...?!" Nick slid near the woman, as his hands clasped.
Mirii gave a quick look over Greta who was leaning against a walk: her taller friend simply shrugged.
"You guessed half of your prize." The woman giggled. "You do have to reach a place... which is an interesting research facility."
"Cool!" Nick stared over Zira, whose smile was still strong.
"You will meet people who specialize in their job of researching young prodigies like you, understanding how society can improve by taking inspiration of prodigies' successes." The woman clasped her hands. "How does that sounds?"
"Terrible!" Mirii frowned a bit. "You disgusting slimes! You want to run experiment on all of us!"
"... can I improve the world with my skills?!" Zira tapped the floor with her feet, pronouncing something incomprehensible.
"... I will not let them get away with such low blows!" Mirii clenched her fists. "I will make sure that Temanga will be prepared for the visit... same for the Inkinators."
