Prompt from Torie714: Can you do I sequel to 125 about jacob exploding at evie about being lovey dovey with Henry and she has to calm him down and comfort him about this predicament
…
Jacob's final words echoed through the train, as Henry and Evie froze in shock, eyes wide as Jacob glared at them.
They were only talking about a dinner date they had planned.
/You can go out! You don't need to rub it in! \\
"Jacob." Evie whispered softly, "Are you okay?"
Jacob just stood there, panting heavily, refusing to look either of them in the eyes, prompting Evie to make her way over, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"I'm fine." He said sharply.
"Strangely enough, I don't believe you." Gesturing for Henry to leave the carriage, she pulled her twin over to the sofa, encouraging him to sit down before taking a seat next to him, shuffling a little closer when Jacob tried to lean away from her.
They were shoulder to shoulder, watching as the city passed by the windows.
Slowly, Evie reached out for Jacob's hand, interlinking their fingers.
"Have there been problems between you and Freddie?" She broached the subject carefully, as Jacob scoffed.
"You mean aside from the fact that we have to hide our relationship, because otherwise, we'd be killed or thrown in prison?"
"…. You have nights together here?"
"But it's not the SAME Evie!" Jacob pulled his hand away, "You and Henry can go anywhere, and the most you have to worry about is Blighters or a snooty woman turning her nose up because Henry's a shade darker than most. Me and Freddie can't even walk too closer together without someone giving us a suspicious look!"
Evie winced, knowing now why Jacob suddenly snapped.
"I-I'm sorry." She whispered, "I didn't mean to- "
"- It makes me feel ashamed." Jacob interrupted, "Of my own relationship, it makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong, when I know I'm not!"
"Jacob?"
The twins flinched, spinning around to see Freddie standing behind them… judging by the look on his face, he'd heard the last part of the conversation at least.
"I'm sorry." Freddie cleared his throat, "I didn't mean to intrude."
"You weren't." Evie was quick to point out, "Me and Jacob were just… talking."
Jacob was refusing to look either of them in the eyes.
"I think…. That I should give you two some space." Freddie moved to leave, only for Evie to dart back and grab his arm.
"No." She whispered, "I think this is a conversation we all need to have together."
…
"Stay with me tonight." Jacob said softly, dry tear tracks on his face from the previous conversation.
"Jacob- "
"I don't want to sleep alone."
Freddie hesitated for a moment, before reaching out to cup Jacob's cheeks, giving a slow nod of his head despite his better judgement.
"Alright." He whispered.
…
Later that night, Freddie watched Jacob sleep. His hair was a mess on the pillows, eyes loosely closed and entirely at peace. Gone was the unhappiness, the uncertainty and the self-hatred. Freddie felt a wave of guilt rushed through him.
Was he holding Jacob back… preventing him from having a love like his sisters? Jacob could find a girl he liked, that much was true.
He could have that life he so desperately wanted.
Sighing, he pressed closer to the assassin, moulding his body against Jacob's back, holding him tightly, closing his eyes and nuzzling close against the other man's neck. Jacob melted in his arms, as Freddie let himself drift off to sleep.
