After she twisted her arms all about to stretch her shoulders and back, she released a long sigh and closed her textbook. He did not take her cue and continued to fill out the questions on the homework sheet she had brought him after he had skipped class.
She kept quiet for a few more minutes, observing him in what she meant to be a covert way, but at last she asked, "Would you ever want to teach art?"

"You know, be a professor or an art teacher." She sprawled across the table, laying her head on her arm so she could peer up at his face from a comfortable position. "You're so good at tutoring, after all, and you're so patient and you're good at art." "That's not what I meant!" she cried, snapping upright and smacking her hand on the table. "You know it's not."
"I am also not going to indulge your secret fanfiction-writing hobbies," he said in a deadpan tone, "by agreeing to become a college-themed alternative universe for you."
"Hey!" she exclaimed, but as a rush of heat coloured her cheeks, she could only splutter helplessly rather than argue his assertion.
