I don't own Harry Potter at all
A/N: my fourth Hermione chap in this series. And it has been a while since I did one of her. This is an exclusive chap to this series.
Chapter 202: Hermione Granger
Hermione Granger was doing something she thought she'd never ever do in her life. Willingly exercise. Now she wasn't doing this because she needed to lose weight though that is a benefit of it. No, she realized how much time she spend in her apartment and when she wasn't there she was at work or the library. The only walking was to take her train. She didn't consciously move her body unless she needed to. She knew this wasn't a good existence and decided she needed to get active.
So she called up her best friend, Harry Potter, for help. She knew Harry would always be ready to lend her any kind of assistance even if it was to his detriment. She remembered one time in school she was sick and Harry delivered her homework to her when it was pouring rain and he lived a fair distance away from her. He ended getting sick because of it.
So Hermione wisely picked her times to call on Harry since she knew he'd drop anything for her. He did that for all of his friends since that was just the kind of guy he was.
"So you want me to help you make up a workout schedule and make sure you stick to it?" Harry asked.
"Yes Harry that's what I need help with. And maybe pick up some exercise equipment too. I don't have any" Hermione said.
"Why the sudden interest in exercising Hermione?" Harry asked, "you never seemed to care about it before."
"I realized how stagnant my life has become and I need to do something to invigorate it. I'm too busy to get a pet, even a goldfish really" Hermione said.
"So this is your way to change things up?" Harry asked.
Hermione nodded.
"Okay, I can help you" Harry said.
"Oh thank you Harry" Hermione said smiling.
/Scene Break/
The buying of exercise equipment was enlightening for Hermione. She had no clue there was so much of it really. Even after all her research, and she did plenty since if she was going to commit to something she wanted to know everything about it. She read studies of various exercises and what affects they had on the body and what ones weren't effective. She made lists upon lists on practically everything with her researched attached to it. It was very, very thorough.
The first thing Harry did after taking a look at her stacks of lists was toss them. That appalled her since she put in so much effort into it.
"Hermione, you can't always follow those. They're good and all, but you need to find what's good for you and do it. Not go with what everyone else is doing" Harry said.
"But the experts say" Hermione began.
"Don't know jack about you. They generalize things to hope fit everyone, but unless you work with them and they know you then they can't be much help" Harry said, "take what they've said into account, but don't just blindly follow."
Hermione frowned at this, but nodded. She did have a bad habit at blindly following. It was a habit she's still trying to break.
"Good, now let go shopping" Harry said smiling.
They picked up some five and ten pound weights for Hermione to use along with attire that would work for working out in. Hermione had nothing like that really since all of the clothes she had fit into a few categories. Like work attire, casual attire and dating attire. There wasn't much bleed in-between.
"Are you sure I need all of this?" Hermione asked.
"You do, you have nothing that's fitting enough to jog and stuff" Harry said.
"Jog, I didn't agree to any jogging" Hermione said with astonishment.
"Well you are. You need to work all the parts of your body. Not just one" Harry said.
"I know that Harry" Hermione said.
"Then do you know that you vary up your routine. One day jogging, one day weight lifting. Never do the same thing over and over. Also give your body a day at least to rest" Harry said.
Hermione was now having some serious doubt about this endeavor.
/Scene Break/
Two weeks, two weeks and Hermione was regretting the whole exercising thing. She was tired and sore in places she had no idea even existed. Harry kept her on schedule not letting her shirk off even if she tried to find an excuse. And she tried every one in the book honestly, she even made up totally new ones in hopes that they'd save her. None saved her.
/Scene Break/
"Please Harry, I'm tired" Hermione said trying not to whine.
"Hermione, today is a light day. Nothing serious" Harry said.
"Harry" Hermione whined.
Harry shook his head. He dragged the protesting Hermione off the couch where she was lying and out the door.
End
A/N: I honestly had no clue how to really end this so I did here. Sorry if it's abrupt, but this was hard to figure out. Thanks for reading and please review.
