Author Note: This is gonna be the last chapter of Mystery Meat. Also, there were a few reviews, so I'll respond to those real quick. Matt, more and more of FNaF will get into the story very soon. I wrote the fic this way for a plot-related reason.
AkabaneKazama, the FNaF elements of this story will shake things up quite a bit. The reason why they bought the restaurant will be revealed soon enough, I don't want to answer all the mysteries right away. Also, I did want to create an alternative take on Danny's character, so that's why he's a little different in personality. I hope you have a nice day too!
Chapter 5 will be coming soon. I'm also writing a different fic that has much longer chapters than this, so I'm going to try to write the next chapter of that while still writing chapters for this. I hope you all enjoy!
Chapter 4 - Mystery Meat IV
Jazz drove Danny to school again.
"Mom and Dad decided not to investigate the school after all." Jazz said.
In the hallway, Sam and Tucker were avoiding each other.
In homeroom, he gave Mr. Lancer the detention slip.
Third period. They were assigned a project in pairs due at the end of class. Neither Sam or Tucker would talk to him, so he was stuck working with Mikey.
Jack Fenton sat in the lab, looking at the portal.
"You two have kept your ghost obsession going for years, and you still have no concrete proof that they even exist! Mom, Dad, tell me. Has any ghost ever come out of that portal of yours?"
A month had passed.
The answer was still no.
Jack sighed, knowing what he had to do.
Lunchtime was outside today for a reason Danny didn't pay attention to. Tucker and Sam were sitting at separate tables.
He'd been friends with Tucker longer, so he sat down with him. Both of them had a bag lunch.
"Hey." Danny said to get his attention.
Tucker looked at him. "Hey."
Tucker resumed eating.
"I talked to the principal this morning." Tucker said. "She said that the menu would go back to normal next week."
"Well, today's Friday." Danny said. "So you won't have to wait very long."
"Yeah." Tucker was being dismissive right now. "Got any plans tomorrow?"
"Not really. You wanna go to the arcade then?" Danny asked.
Tucker shrugged. "Sure… and tell Sam she's invited."
"You don't have to tell me." They just noticed that Sam sat down to sit with them. She looked a bit… down. "I talked to the principal this morning and told her to get rid of the veggie stuff I added as soon as possible."
Tucker looked at her.
"And… you were right." Sam said, sighing afterward. "I shouldn't… have even thought of changing the menu in the first place. All it did was attract a ghost to our school. I'm sorry."
From the look on his face, Tucker wanted to say something.
But then the cold mist exited Danny's mouth. Tucker and Sam noticed it this time.
There was a bold, echoing laugh. Patricia. The meat that had disappeared began to cluster up in one location, far away from the students as they all began watching. The meat clustered up together, towering over the school. Was this her new form? The meat grew arms, legs, and a face, of which barely resembled Patricia.
Patricia roared, and there was chaos.
As if it wasn't enough when she attacked me in the kitchen. Danny gawked at her gigantic form. She could crush the school she could crush my friends someone needs to do something I need to do something.
He dove under the table and transformed into his ghost half.
"So, how well do you think you understand this concept, Spike?" Jazz asked the student she was tutoring. They were sitting at one of the tables near the building.
She didn't get an answer. Instead, Spike was gawking at something behind her. Jazz turned around, and there was screaming. Students ran past her. There was a giant meat monster by the school.
Spike was already pulling her away, to get away from the meat monster as fast as possible. With her free hand, Jazz attempted to get her phone out of her pocket, fumbling with it and nearly dropping it on the ground.
It was a difficult decision, but they knew it was correct.
"The only thing this portal ever did was hurt my son." Jack stated for his wife to hear. "Ghosts don't exist. All we've been doing is chasing a fool's errand." At least there was still that restaurant, Freddy's.
Maddie let out a small sigh. "Let's begin dismantling it." Her phone rang. It was Jazz. "What is it, Jazz?"
"Th-Th-There's a giant… giant meat monster ghost! At the school!"
Maddie almost let go of the phone.
Jack nearly choked on the cup of water he was drinking.
Danny got out from under the table. In all the chaos, Sam and Tucker must've ran. He got a running start and pushed up with his legs.
He flew upward, toward Patricia. That name made him angry. How dare she attack him, the school, and his friends… she was going to pay.
Danny felt… just a little different when he was a ghost. These thoughts… they intensified when he became a ghost. And he needed to act on them… or else what would happen?
He managed to stop himself when he was face to face with Patricia.
"You!" Patricia roared. She swiped at him, and he managed to fly to the side in time, her giant hand narrowly brushing past him. "Come to spread more of your putrid lies?" Another swipe. What, was he just a fly to her now?
It all became a blur. She swiped, punched, maybe punched again, and eventually, Danny rammed her in her side, causing her to topple to the ground. …Hopefully no one was standing where she fell.
Danny took this moment to breathe. He already felt exhausted, but he knew he had to keep fighting. He looked around. There was hardly anyone still around. Good. They were safe, and now he could-
A giant, meaty fist sent him soaring up, up, up so high he flew right past the clouds. He stopped himself, trying to remain steady. Sure, he wanted to become an astronaut, but this wasn't the way to go about it.
He held his head, trying to regain his bearings. He felt dizzy, he wanted to throw up, and his body just wanted to turn back to human and rest. Soon. He had to finish this. Now.
Danny shook his head, and then readied himself to fly downward. He flew down at an angle. The wind rushed past him. He soon reached terminal velocity. He and Patricia locked eyes for half a second before he slammed into her and there was an explosion.
Jack slammed the brakes on the RV. There was an explosion nearby. Maddie straightened up in her seat. The two looked at each other.
They got out of the RV and raced toward the school. They'd stopped not that far, and they didn't want to risk anything happening to the RV.
"Jazz!" Maddie yelled upon seeing her daughter and another student. "Where's Danny?"
"I don't know! I've been calling and texting him but he won't answer!" Jazz yelled.
Their blood froze.
Absolutely every part of him ached horribly. All he wanted to do was just sleep forever. No, I need to stop Patricia. Thanks to his attack, he'd made a giant crater on school grounds. Meat was falling to the ground everywhere.
He weakly crawled out of the crater. Patricia was standing a bit away from the crater, facing away from him. She turned, looking at the partial destruction.
"Oh dear… I've created such a big mess. It'll take so long to clean up." Patricia said. She turned around, seeing Danny as he crawled out of the crater, barely managing to stand up. "Young child, are you alright?"
"I…" What could he even say? "I think."
Patricia's held a look of disbelief for just a split second. "You…" Danny realized his mistake and tried to back away, but couldn't because the crater was right behind him.
"EVEN WHEN ASKED SIMPLE QUESTIONS, YOU JUST HAVE TO LIE, DON'T YOU?" Patricia flew up, and Danny stumbled backward, falling back into the crater. "Simply answering my question honestly is too hard for you? Too hard for some stubborn teenager, huh?"
Patricia flicked her arms upward. Several chunks of meat began glowing green, floating over to her. She thrusted her arms forward, and the meat flew toward Danny. He ducked under it. The meat hit the ground a bit behind him.
He looked, and the chunks of meat grew arms, legs, and a face. There were five in total.
The meat stared at him, and he stared back. The white ring appeared, and he changed back to Danny Fenton. He almost cursed twice when the meat monsters screamed before lunging at him.
Run.
He stumbled out of the crater. He wanted to stop, to breathe, to fall asleep, but he couldn't. One monster grabbed his shoe; he kicked his leg upward to get it off. Another one jumped for his leg, he sidestepped to get out of the way.
Another leapt onto his back. He couldn't get it off. Another grabbed his arm. And then his leg. His other leg. His head.
They pulled him into the air. He screamed. Patricia, the school, it all was starting to disappear. The monsters on his back, head, and arm let go, leaving him to dangle upside down at the mercy of the two on his legs.
Eventually, they stopped.
He lurched to one side-
And they flung him.
Change back,
It was impossible for a human to survive this fall.
Change back…
He had to, but he was so weary, so tired, so very fast approaching the ground.
CHANGE BACK
In an instant, he was a ghost. He still fell. He reached out his arms, hoping he could do something, anything. The concrete was approaching.
He closed his eyes.
He fell through the ground, gripping something round and metallic.
Jazz screamed.
Maddie stepped back a bit.
Jack stared at his now-empty hand where the Fenton Thermos was moments ago.
Danny flew up out of the ground. Patricia stared from several feet. She looked at the thermos in his hand.
"Soup's not on the menu, kid." She spat.
"It doesn't matter what is or isn't on the menu." Danny said. He wasn't sure if he could even fight anymore. "You have to stop attacking our school. Now."
"NO!" Patricia screamed. "Not when there's so many teens in there that lie just like you!"
"So what if we lie sometimes?" Danny questioned. "Small little white lies aren't harmful. Lies can be more helpful than truth if you know when to tell them."
"SHUT UP!" Patricia screamed, grabbing her head. "SHUT UP! STOP LYING TO ME!"
"It's not a lie!" Danny finally remembered what the thermos he held in his hand was for. To capture ghosts.
"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! NOBODY UNDERSTANDS! THEY THINK IT WAS ALL AN ACCIDENT! BUT IT WASN'T!"
Danny opened the lid.
"I KNOW HE DID IT DELIBERATELY, THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY! IT WAS IN THE KITCHEN, IT WAS ALL PRE-MEDITATED!"
He aimed the thermos at her, and he began glowing brighter.
"HE LIED! HE SAID THE STOVE WAS OFF AND IT WASN'T! IT EXPLODED! HE KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN, THAT JACKASS SON OF A BITCH!"
The thermos turned on, and a bright light sped toward Patricia.
"I HATE YOU!"
The light encapsulated her, and she was forcefully sucked into the thermos.
"I HATE YOU, ROB PAULSEN!"
Her voice died out as she entered the thermos. As he transformed back into Danny Fenton, he closed the lid.
Beat.
Danny collapsed to his knees. Any adrenaline he previously had vanished.
At least the threat's taken care of.
"Danny!"
His mother's voice. He stood back up and faced her. Jack and Jazz were with her.
"There you are. We are going home right now, young man."
