Jack tossed and turned in his sleep. He knew he was dreaming but couldn't stop it. He was reliving THAT day again. He wanted to wake up but he couldn't leave. Jack had lost count how many times he had seen his parents die. He watched again in horror as Horde Prime stabbed his father through the heart. He felt tears roll down his face and screams escaping his family as Horde Prime crushed his mother's head. Then Horde Prime turned towards him.
"You hate me don't you?" Jack couldn't move. He couldn't respond. "You'll snap out of it and when you do I have no doubt you'll seek revenge against me so… I'll leave a reminder of my strength so you may never be as stupid as your parents!" With that Horde Prime cut Jacks chest. Then he awoke. He jumped up and clutched his chest. For a split second he had actually felt physical pain from his scar. No one was around. Jack opened his door and saw Adora right outside. She was snoring with the original sword of She-ra by her side. "She already got her powers back?!" Jack thought. Jack was curious as to why she was outside HIS room though.
"Adora?" He nudged her and she slowly opened her eyes.
"Wha- oh hi Jack! Why are you awake?" She got up and yawned but Jack could tell she was hiding something. When she had woken up she seemed scared. Terrified may be the better word for it.
"Why are you outside of my room? Are you scared of me?" Jack was scared what the answer might be. This was his long lost sister. His only family. He didn't want to find her AND lose her in less than a day.
"I am kinda scared of you. You sounded… evil when you talked about Horde Prime. I had a friend in the Horde who has tried to kill me so many times now and hates me but her hate of me is nothing compared to your hate of Horde Prime. It's terrifying to see that."
Jack was speechless. His own sister thought he was scary. He had told her what Horde Prime did to their parents. Wasn't it justified to get revenge?
"You think I'm a monster." He could feel his anger rising. All he wanted was to find his family.
"I don't think you're a monster. From what I've seen, you're nice. That one moment though, It reminded me of Catra times a thousand. She doesn't care about anything but hurting me and I'm scared all you care about is killing and torturing Horde Prime." They heard light footsteps and turned to see Frost. She had obviously been woken up by their argument.
"Could you guys shut up? Talk in the morning when we won't get the urge to throw you out a window." Frosta disappeared back into her room. Adora was the first to break the silence.
"Let's talk in the morning. I'm going to bring Bow to make sure we don't try to kill each other. He's really nice. I bet he would love to get to know you." With that they both left to go to their rooms. The night was silent and peaceful but no one was at peace that night.
Back on Horde Primes ship things were looking even worse for Catra and Glimmer. They had been caught a few times already but had managed to escape each time but Glimmer was almost out of magic.
"We need to tell them to come now sparkles. If he catches us again, we lose. You die, I die, Everybody dies!"
"I know that Catra! But if we send for help and they aren't ready they'll just die. We need to give them time!" Glimmer winced and looked at her hands. The usual sparkles were replaced by blood.
"You need bandaging. Hold still." Catra took out a first aid kit and started working. "That was a nasty slice. Luckily it wasn't deep. It's going to bleed for awhile but it'll stop and heal by itself."
"You think we can hide for one more day? I don't want to lead everyone to their deaths." Catra sighed.
"Fine. Tomorrow night though, we are SCREAMING for help. Deal?" They both grinned and shook on it. One more day in hell and then they might be free.
Back at Bright Moon, the sun was shining. Everyone gathered in the war room and was ready to talk strategy. But when Jack entered the room he was quickly told Adora was waiting for him.
"Where is she?" Jack asked.
Mermist waved her hand towards the window. "She's by the Runestone. Also try to have your arguments when we're not all sleeping. We have a lot of problems and sleep deprivation shouldn't be one of them." Jack told her he would keep that in mind and headed to the Runestone. When he got there, He saw Bow and Adora talking. He couldn't hear them and frankly, he was scared it might be about him.
"Ahem." Adora and Bow turned around. "You wanted to talk?"
"Yeah. It's about your being here." Adora gestured him to come over. "You want to hurt Horde Prime. You want revenge. But we have a mission. I don't think I can allow you to go on this rescue mission."
"What?! Why?!" Bow gave him a nervous look.
"Adora told me what you said. It sounds like you're obsessed with getting revenge. On a rescue mission, we can't afford to let someone like you interfere."
"Do you think I'm just an obstacle? I came here to help!"
"The best way for you to help will be to stay here, at Bright Moon. Look Jack, I can already tell you have powers that could really help in a fight but that's not what this is. We're saving our friends."
"I won't stay. All I've done is watch and wait. I've watched as our parents died in front of me. I waited until I could come here to help you. I can't watch and wait any longer!" Jack was screaming at this point. Bow looked disappointed but Adora was angry.
"You think we can't see that all you want is to get revenge?! It's obvious! You don't know any of us. If Bow died or Frosta went missing life would go on for you. Not for us. We can't put their lives at risk for the sake of YOUR revenge! You. Are. Staying." Adora had gotten in Jack's face now and it looked like they were getting ready to fight.
"Adora! You promised you wouldn't fight."
"Only if he listens." Jack Looked down, a face of anger and confusion covering him. "You think that I don't want you to get your revenge? No. I just don't want your revenge hurting everyone. Please stay. You can help when we don't have our own behind enemy lines by themselves." Jack nodded.
"Fine. But I'm begging you, Don't treat him with mercy. He killed more than just our people. Many more."
