I never understood why people put disclaimers before their chapters like this is fanfiction obviously the show isn't your work, is that just me? Seriously what's the point? anyways next chapter is here so please enjoy.

"Hey wait up!" Yagi yelled after killua pretty irritated at the fact he was using his skateboard leaving her behind alone with a all the weirdo's. she could see Killuas smirk from all the way in the back as he yelled back to her.

"why don't you catch up weirdo" he said with a bit of a giggle. Yagi anger started to pick up a little, Yagi wasn't the type to lose her anger easily however when it came to him somehow, he just knew how to push all her buttons.

"how long are you going to call me that stupid!" Yagi screamed with a clear tick mark pounding against her head. The fact that she was hungry wasn't making her any less irritated the worst part about it is that she knew he knew it too.

"probably until I die, cya weirdo" killua laughed and sped up away through the crowd out of her site. She growled in anger. 'I can't believe he really left me behind here, I'm going to kill him when I see him 'she internally pondered. She never had to deal with a person that had his type of personality and as much as he annoyed her, she'd be lying if she said he didn't make her feel all giddy inside. she hated the fact that she enjoyed that he had a nickname for her even if it was demeaning, she hoped he didn't have nicknames for anyone other than her. Yagi internally cringed at herself 'there is no way we are gonna start catching feelings for an old man, that's weird and I'm pretty sure illegal, so let's chill it's only the second chapter' Yagi prayed in her head, if he ever knew any of the things she was thinking she knew she would never live it down. Yagi paled at the thought of him knowing she was crushing a bit and she felt her insides churn.

'this is not good'

Yagi was still running alone and still being kept on her toes by the many creepy men giving her looks. She knew why they where giving her looks, she wasn't afraid to admit she looked very exotic and pretty with her dark blue eyes and raven glossy hair, she was even slowly developing in places she especially did her best to cover up, although in her opinion it wasn't much of anything to cover up but it seems the men taking the exam this year took whatever they could get. Yagi felt uncomfortable but it wasn't something she wasn't used to from her father who'd on many occasions came close to touching her in ways that weren't appropriate. It was always "almost" because Yagi would never let him get too close however it never ended good, let's just say she would always end up waking up with a migraine. Yagi shivered at that memories flowing through her brain until a familiar voice brought her back to reality.

"oi weirdo, get over here"

Yagi looked up to see killua running along next to young boy with black spikey hair and a very eccentric green outfit, along with to what Yagi believed to be husband and wife a middle aged man with a suit and glasses and a woman with blonde hair and traditional clan clothes, at least that's what she assumed.

'what a weird bunch'

Yagi started running towards the group with hesitation and excitement.

"oh, so now you start running?" Yagi growled at killua. But he only rolled his eyes at her and continued to look forward which of course ticked her off more.

"right?! He should respect the hunter exam." Leorio grumbled, Yagi giggled he sounded exactly how she thought he would which amused her to no end.

"what's your name" Yagi stated with a wide smile. Leorio grinned and pointed at himself with his thumb.

"I'm Leorio, this is Kurapika, what about you kid"

'Kurapika sounds like a boy name'

"are you guys married"

Gon and killua looked at each other and laughed, Kurapika face went red with either anger or embarrassment, and Leorio was already screaming at her. Yagi was genuinely curious and wasn't expecting that reaction.

"I'm a guy Yagi-san" kurapika said with a sweat drop and a deep sigh this was something he was used too. Yagi's face went red, she was certain he was a girl I mean it was obvious. She could hear killua snickering at her diabolically and she shot him an icy glare which resulted in him laughing even harder. Yagi groaned.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have assumed, also just call me Yagi please" embarrassment was written all over her face with that statement, and kurapika could tell she was genuine.

"it's alright''

"what about me huh brat?! Where is my apology"

"I don't think you deserve it as much a kurapika"

"excuse me, you assumed I was with, well kurapika that's an insult all on its own!"

"I feel like I should be angry at that statement Leorio" kurapika chipped in with a tick mark.

"can we move on from this conversation, the old man is getting obnoxious" killed said irritation Clearly seeping out of his mouth.

"old man? Are you kidding? I'm a teenager like the rest of you"

"….."

everyone froze with clear surprise written all over their faces, Leorio now had comical tears running down his face.

"you are all brats!"

The three of them where now running side by side, so far everything was running smoothly, they had light conversation flowing between them and whenever it went quiet it wasn't an awkward silence it was comfortable. Yagi couldn't be happier she could imagine where she would be right now if she had decided to stay behind with her mother, probably being beaten no doubt. She still had the occasional nagging feeling of guilt of leaving her mother behind but her new "friends" made the perfect distraction. At least she hoped they were friends she was still afraid that they maybe only saw her as an acquaintance. She felt anxious at that idea, would they leave her behind if she got in trouble? She got the feeling that, that wasn't something gon could ever do but still she didn't know gon that well not as well the white-haired boy's personality, and even then the old man was a mystery.

'I think this is part of the process of making friends at least I hope"

This wasn't exactly the normal circumstances of making friends.

Suddenly the trio heard a thud behind them which was Leorio all burned out of energy gasping for some air. Yagi's heart pounded through her eardrums, this was the reality of the hunter exam, you can't just make friends an expect them to be strong enough to pull through. She really liked Leorio he was entertaining and very fun to tease but she completely forgot where they were subconsciously. She noticed standing next to her was gon they had both stopped at the same time, Yagi staring at him with worry gon with determination.

'this boy is strange' Yagi thought and then looked back at Leorio who looked like life was squeezing out of him into a smoothie. She could hear killua finally stop after about 1 min of them stopping and she could feel his confused stares on her and gon's back. Yagi was pretty new when it came to friends and she got the feeling killua was too. She glanced behind him to see him mumbling to himself with puzzlement written all over her face and then he turned around and started running ahead to which Yagi got her answer to her previous query which made her heart sting 'he wouldn't save me if I was in trouble'. Leorio then suddenly shot up with a scream of clear ardent and went into full sprint ahead leaving his suitcase behind. Yagi's eyes widened and she looked at gon who laughed to which Yagi joined in on. They both started running too and they came upon a stopped killua who was standing there with his hands in his pockets, Yagi's eyes widened again.

'he waited, what does that mean?' Yagi thought.

Yagi ran to killua' s right side and gon on his left she looked at him with wonder.

"so, you decided to wait after all what changed your mind, you growing soft old man?" she was with sarcasm although in her mind it couldn't have been a more serious question to her.

"shut it weirdo" killua said stuffing his hands deeper into his pockets. And turning his head away from her.

"you guys are interesting I think I'd get bored if you weren't here" he said with a shrug.

'well that wasn't the answer I was hoping for but at least that means he's somewhat reliable'

Gon swung his fishing rod backwards which caught leorio's suitcase with ease, he flung forwards towards him and caught it.

"woah that was cool, you should let me try that" killua said with a surprised face, Yagi watched their exchange with admiration.

'they are truly still kids, what a relief' Yagi thought with a smile growing on her face.

"what are you smiling about Yagi?" gon questioned.

Yagi's eyes widened, and she smiled again.

"just realizing how precious childhood is"

"you weird" killua popped in. Yagi hit his shoulder in response. A silence came over them again a comfortable one that didn't last very long.

"so why do you guys want to become hunters?" gon chirped, Yagi flinched a little at the question 'I don't think I'm ready to tell them just yet'

"I just wanted to see if it was fun, but so far its been a letdown" Yagi rolled her eyes at killua' s statement, 'wow so cool' she said sarcastically in her head.

"what are you rolling your eyes for'"

"because you're a cliché"

"what is that supposed to mean?"

"I bet your super strong, so of course your gonna say something so cool like that to make us jealous or something "

"what the hell, why are you making this so deep"

"I'm not I'm just pointing out the obvious"

"yea I get it, just because you know I'm super cool, you have to make something up to make yourself feel better."

"am not"

"are too"

"am not"

"are too"

"AM NOT"

"ARE TOO"

"GUYS!" gon yelled, they looked at him with a glare to which he sweat dropped. He smiled cheekily.

"Yagi why do you want to be a hunter"

Yagi cleared her throat and looked away, she got the feeling that killua would be able to tell she was lying if he could see her face he had that Sorta personality.

" I guess I just thought it would be a good opportunity for me ya know?" gon smiled at her response with a big nod, while killua just stared into the back of her head, he studied her like she was some sort of book. She could tell he was calculating in his brain because he looked at each one of her eyes back in fourth. He then got really close to her ear while gon wasn't looking and whispered.

"you're a liar" he said before drawing back, with his usual annoying ass smirk and then continued to ask gon why he was taking the exam. At first she frowned deeply, but then she realized how close he was to her ear and how she could still feel the moisture of his breath on her ear, and she shuttered and blushed and completely missed what gon had to say about why he wanted to become a hunter. She was in her own world when killua tapped her shoulder.

"is anyone in their weirdo?" killua said while knocking on her noggin, she shoved her hand away and crossed her arms, killua only smirked.

"Yagi we where planning on racing to the top want to join? the loser buys lunch" Gon said with a wide grin. Yagi internally said no because her body was growing tired and a race was probably the last thing she needed but whenever she looked at Gon she couldn't help but melt and anything that would cause him to be sad made her not want to do it, so naturally she had to say yes.

So, Yagi nodded reluctantly.

"Alright let's start when we reach the stairs"

Yagi looked up and almost cried there was a flight of stairs that had no light at the end of the tunnel, she grimaced and counted down in her head before the reached the bottom of the stairs.

'3,2,1 go!'

They all bolted passing around failing examinees and hopping over rolling unconscious bodies with ease. Well Yagi would like to think it was with ease.

And hour passed and the light was getting bigger and Yagi didn't even care about winning anymore she just wanted to stop running, so she tried to push herself with the little strength she had left when they where finally a few feet from the exit, she could tell killua and gon where picking up speed as well. All three of them passed the finish line at the exact same time, however while gon and killua where arguing about it Yagi had lost consciousness and fallen over on her back.
