Prologue 3
Grigi was in his study, which was a large room that was had a desk, a large chair with a cushion, and various papers that were around his desk. The walls were ocean blue, and his floor was ivory colored. He had a framed picture of his family on the right side of him, and the left side included a picture of a forest. He also had a dead polar bear on the floor, whose organs and bones were taken out to make a carpet. There was also a couch with feathers on it, and two tusks that was over the door. Grigi right now was focused on coming up with the arena, and the mutts that were supposed to be in the game. He knew what the mutts were going to be, but he didn't know the arena. He had a couple of options that he had, but he didn't know which ones to choose. It was then that a young girl entered his study, and Grigi sighed a bit as she came in.
"Marissa, what are you doing in here?" Grigi asked.
"I wanted to come and talk to you before I leave. Isn't that okay?" Marissa said.
Grigi nodded his head, letting come to his study. Marissa was fifteen years old, with orange colored hair and green colored eyes. She was wearing a purple sundress, and had yellow shoes on. Marissa was Grigi's sister, and he was supposed to be keeping her safe. The thing is, Marissa wasn't supposed to have been born. When his mother gave birth to him, Marissa was being chocked by the umbilical cord, and wasn't breathing. But miraculously, she survived, but not before his mother passed away. Grigi was devastated, but he would have to take care of Marissa himself. His father mostly focused on keeping his image up, and doesn't focus on his children. So, Grigi raised Marissa himself. They've become close to one another ever since.
"Oh, what are you looking at here?" Marissa asked.
"It's nothing. Just something for my new job." Grigi said.
Marissa looked through his papers, and then saw what he was doing. She then was jumping up and down in excitement at what she was looking at.
"Oh. My. God. You have the job of game maker? That is so freaking awesome. How did you even get it? I thought you said that you only did it because it paid a lot."
"I did it because I think I could make a difference for the games. I could change the way they are viewed and how everything else goes."
"And so, you're actually going to run the games. But you've only been training for about a year. Grigi, how can you do this?"
Grigi thought about this for a few moments.
"I just know Marissa. You just have to trust me. I know I'm putting myself at risk by doing this. But once these games end, we will get a new house, a home that is even bigger than this. Just you and me."
Marissa smiled, and she hugged her brother. She then let go as she saw a paper that was there, and she handed it to Grigi.
"How about this brother? This should be great to start off with."
Grigi looked at what she showed. Sure, it was smaller then what he anticipated, about ten miles, but it looked desolate enough, and the center of it all was perfect for the ideas that he had.
"Marissa, I think you just found my arena."
Okay, it has been about a couple of days now, and I've only got a couple of campers. So, since the number of campers is not increasing, I'm going to change a couple of things.
1. The tributes are now first come first served.
2. Try to keep the back-story in the realm of possibility.
3. There is essentially no deadline now. Just submit whenever.
Now, I'm not going to reveal the arena…yet. Probably will do that with the next prologue. The tribute chapter's are going to start coming out once a district is complete. Happy hunting.
